APPENDIX VII
[Library of the Dean and Chapter of Peterborough: from the Goxhill Ledger, ff. 5d. and 6, no. 25].
[This is the final concord made in the court of the lord the king at Lincoln, on the Thursday next before the feast of St. Barnabas the Apostle, in the first year of king Richard [7 June, 1190]; between Alexander de Poyntona and Henry de Gant, concerning twelve bovates of land, of which six bovates are of Robert de Gant's demesne, and one toft which was Ernebern's, and one toft which was Hugh Totel's, and one toft which was Outi's, and one toft which was Lewin's, and one toft which was Juliana's, to which tofts the six other bovates belong, with the appurtenances.
Whereupon there was a plea between them in the court of the lord the king; to wit, that Henry and his heirs shall hold the land with the appurtenances of Alexander and his heirs; rendering yearly to Alexander and his heirs four marks of silver at two terms, to wit, at the Nativity two marks, and at the feast of St. Botolph two marks, and doing therefor the service of half a knight for all service.]

[Ibid., ff. 6 and 6d., no. 27].
[This is the final concord made in the court of the lord the king at Lincoln, on the Tuesday next after the exaltation of the Holy Cross, in the sixth year of the reign of king Richard [20 September, 1194]; between Alexander de Poyntona, demandant, and Henry de Gant, tenant, concerning twelve bovates of land in Hirnham with the appurtenances, which Henry held of Alexander by the service of four marks yearly to be rendered therefor, and by the service of the fee of half a knight.
Whereupon there was a plea between them in the court of the lord the king; to wit, that Henry has rendered to Alexander seven bovates of land of the aforesaid twelve bovates, and has quitclaimed them to him and his heirs for ever from himself and his heirs, namely, those six bovates which Arenibern held with the tofts which belong to the same land, and one bovate which was Hugh Tutel's with the toft which was Julian's [sic]. And for this concord and fine Alexander has released from himself and his heirs to Henry and his heirs the service of four marks for ever, and he has granted to Henry five bovates of land of the aforesaid twelve bovates, to wit, two bovates of the demesne in Marewde and in the park, and one bovate which was Julian's with Hugh Tutell's toft, and the toft which was Lewin's with the bovate which belongs to that toft, and the toft which was Outi's with the bovate which belongs to the toft: to hold to Henry and his heirs of Alexander and his heirs wholly, fully, and by inheritance, by the free military service which belongs to those five bovates, whereof those five bovates and the aforesaid seven make the service of the fee of half a knight.]
