4. Individual registration
All information received by you from your use of British History Online will be used by the University of London and History of Parliament Trust in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
On registration, you must provide us with accurate, complete registration information and it is your responsibility to update and maintain changes to that information by going to 'My Account' or equivalent. Each registration is for a single user only.
On registration, you will choose a user name and password to which one of more OpenID identities may optionally be attached ("ID"). You must treat such information as confidential, and you must not disclose it to any third party. The University of London and History of Parliament Trust does not permit any other person sharing your ID or access through a single ID being made available to multiple users via a network or other organisation.
You are responsible for all use of the website made by you or anyone else using your ID and for preventing unauthorised use of your ID. We may cancel or suspend your access if you do this without further obligation to you. If, while using the website, you discover anyone in breach of the acceptable use policy you should inform us as soon as possible.
5. Individual subscriptions to premium content
You agree that once we have started providing any part of your subscription to you, you do not have any right to cancel your subscription or any part of it until the end of your then current subscription period. This means that you are not entitled to a refund once we have started providing any part of your subscription to you.
6. General
By accessing any part of this site, you shall be deemed to have accepted these terms in full.
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and any dispute arising from them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
7. User contributions
a. Contributions are regulary pre-moderated and may not appear.
b. Content submitted through the annotation or questions features will be owned by the individual contributor but British History Online will retain a non-exclusive perpetual royalty-free worldwide license to reproduce that content in any format. British History Online does not accept liability in respect of any material submitted by users and published by us and nor are we responsible for its content and accuracy. Contributors agree to indemnify British History Online in full and permanently against any liabilities or costs we incur as a result of publishing material submitted by them.
c. British History Online reserves the right to publish, delete, edit or otherwise modify submitted material, and to include it in any media now known or later developed. Publication of any material remains at our sole discretion.
d. Submission warrants that any submissions are the original work of the person making the submission, to which they own copyright and any other relevant rights. Material considered potentially libellous or defamatory, or potentially in breach of copyright, will be deleted.
e. Any material considered to be commercial or spam will be deleted.
f. Contributors who violate these terms and conditions may be suspended or banned from posting.
