I gave up at 49% in to this book. I listened to the audiobook. I'm not sure if it was the narration or the story. I would be interested in hearing the difference in this author's book if there was a male and female narrator.
This Nadia woman was so overwhelmingly whiny, obnoxious, childish, and rude that I could not stand her. It had nothing to do with her lack of experience. For Jaxson with all the "masculine power" and "virile strength", and "masculine thighs", etc. was so OTT, it was hard not to roll my eyes.
For this man to be so determined to marry Nadia was ridiculous while he had "desire rushing" through him, and her feminine whatever was on display. After he spent time with her, he should have run as fast and far away as possible. It was all too much for me.
I keep hoping to recapture those feelings that came along with the early Westmoreland books and it is just not happening.
Fun book. Jaxon, a recently discovered cousin to Bart Outlaw, saw Nadia at a Westmoreland wedding and was immediately taken with her. At a Westmoreland men's poker game several months later, he announced his intention to marry her - even though they've never had one date. I loved the reactions to his announcement - mostly warnings that Nadia will not be an easy conquest.
Nadia has noticed Jaxon, but she's been burned by overconfident men before and has no intention of going through that again. When Jaxon appears in her hometown, ostensibly to purchase land to expand his business, she is wary of spending time with him. When he declares his love for her and his intention to marry her, Nadia is furious. She sends him off after chewing him out about his declaration when he doesn't know her.
Jaxon is not easily discouraged, and after promising to dial back his declaration, he decides to use other methods to get close to her. I enjoyed his end run, especially his commitment to supporting her acting school. There is a great scene where he shuts down a TV interviewer who tries to ignore Nadia while focusing on him.
The more time they spend together, the more their attraction grows. When Nadia decides to indulge in one steamy night (her reason is unusual for a woman her age), she doesn't expect the depth of their connection. She's determined to move on, but their night together reinforces Jaxon's desire to permanently have her in his life. When he again declares his feelings for her, Nadia reacts angrily and pushes him away. He confronts her about her refusal to believe his feelings and tells her to find him when she's ready to admit her feelings.
It takes a long conversation with her best friend and time away from Jaxon for Nadia to finally accept her feelings for him. I loved seeing her gather her courage and go to him. I loved the ending and seeing her open up completely to him and admit her love. The epilogue was terrific, and I loved the surprise Jaxon had for her.
I also loved catching up with so many of the Westmoreland couples. It is also exciting to see that more Westmoreland relatives have been found. I look forward to reading their stories.
Nadia and Jaxon's Love at First Sight-HEA !! 4.5***** Spoiler Alert
Jaxon, only child and CEO of Ravnell Tech., plus newest family member of the Westmorelabd/ Outlaws Clan, met his future soulmate Nadia Novak, and set out to claim her heart and soul physically and emotionally. Ignoring her refusal to be married from her past boyfriend's missteps, Jaxon persevered, and finally won Nadia's undying love sealed with Cocoa the horse's return, as his wedding gift, to her. Yes, HEA for the two!! The return and cameo appearances of our Westmorelands and Outlaws favorite characters made this a trip down memory lane, as these two new characters were fleshed out. I enjoyed them stopping to use condoms and deciding together to dispel of their usage, together. Such a welcoming joint decision and hope for their future life together as a couple. A Must-Read!
Nadia was a beautiful and sassy woman. Jaxon was a handsome self assured man. He knew that she was the woman he wanted to marry when he first met her. Nadia thought he was handsome when they first met. He loved her so much, that he bought land in her city and state to build his company on. He was so certain he would marry her, that he told his cousins he would! Even though Nadia tried to fight her attraction to him at first, she realized that she had to give in to her feelings. Jaxon took patience to a whole new level. He bided his time and won her over! I really enjoyed the cameo appearances by the Westmorelands and Outlaws!! I’m loving all things Westmoreland!!! Thank you Mrs. Jackson for this great addition to the Westmoreland Legacy series!!❤️🔥
I had a feeling that when Jackson Ravnell asked about Nadia at Maverick and Phire's wedding that his intent was to pursue the feisty Nadia! Pursue he did until he finally got her to admit he was not the only one smitten! It is good to see more and more of these extended Westmoreland family members getting their own happily ever afters! I loved this story in print and in audio and I am glad that despite the challenges they go through one thing remains constant, love conquers all. Thank you Dynamic Mrs. J for another great love story.
Ms Jackson has alway delivered great stories in this series! Make a note that this one is a slow burn! Nadia is a bit immature for a 28 year old woman. Still suffering pain of college relationships, when she surrounded by healthy relationships just didn’t make sense. Her best friend Rissa was very patient as she talked her through life class 101. Jaxson on the other hand is a unicorn! There are simply not many men who know what and who they want and can be so honest and vulnerable about it. Yeah a unicorn! Needless to say, he is the MVP of this story!
Nadia and Jaxon's love story was challenging from beginning but boy did they both win in love. Each chapter from their meet up in Gamble to the steamy love scenes around town this couple was destined for each other. Nadia and Jaxon's chemistry bounced off them to the point readers knew they were going to be a power couple in Westmoreland Country. Loved,Loved, Loved this book.
One steamy night was really one steamy book. You could literally feel the words and emotions that Brenda Jackson put in this book. With Nadia’s previous relationship issues to Jaxson’s love at first sight quest this book has it all. Plus some unexpected family reunion moments and new family reveals.
BJ has done it yet again with the Westmoreland Family & friends.
Mrs. Jackson continued her tradition of providing excellent romances with this story. Jaxon's declaration of his intentions for Nadia was a great beginning for their story. We got to see how Nadia overcame her distrust and Jaxon's determination and patience. Loved Nadia's festiness present and past. The ending was great with an influx of Westmoreland, Steele and Outlaw characters from the past. Maybe even a clue to future stories. Definitely a recommended read.
First book by this author and wish I could say I’ll read another one. It wasn’t horrible. I ended up just listening to it on audio and it was ok. Nadia was really childish. I get she was a virgin and holding on to past hurt but she was annoying. Here you have a successful man who is honest and makes his intentions clear from the start and the fmc behaved like a child from the beginning. SMH
As always Brenda Jackson books are exciting, and one hot steamy love affair. I just love reading about the Westmoreland’s and all their long lost relatives. Each book brings a smile on my face. I truly enjoyed the way Jaxson made it known that he was marrying the woman of his dream and did not care what anyone thought. A man on a mission to get his love Nadia. Bravo 👏🏾 again Mrs. Jackson.
Sometimes you just know! The first time Jaxon saw Nadia, he knew she would someday be his wife. However, convincing Nadia of that fact would take some real persuasion!
It was interesting to watch these two work through past betrayal and heart-break, in order to get to the finish line. Or will they?
Hi Mrs. Jackson you never disappoint us.Can’t wait for the next book. I fell in love with Jaxon. The story line was great. Don’t you just love a man who knows what he wants and goes after it. I am getting ready to start reading all your Christmas books over again.
This is another amazing book by Brenda Jackson. I love all her books, this is Nadia and Jaxson’s story. He fell in love with her at first sight but she didn’t want a man. She had been hurt by previous relationships and she didn’t trust easily. He was very patient, willing to earn her trust. It was a very beautiful love story. Great epilogue.
It was really good to revisit the pass characters in the Westmoreland group. As always Mrs. Jackson does a fabulous job in writing about her characters. I have read all of her stories. As always the men in books know what they want and goes after their hearts desire. The women are bold and loving. Hear , hear to Mrs. Jackson.
What a great story. Jaxon Ravnel had fallen in love with Nadia Novak the first time he met her. He slowly bided his time. He let the Westmoreland and Outlaw men know he planned on marrying her. Nadia was not comfortable being a relationship because of past experiences. This was a very enjoyable book.
Brenda’s books are always good to read; but one can always predict the endings. There aren’t very many plot twists in her books which make them somewhat predictable. I love the Westmoreland and friends group; but I’m waiting on a good page-turner that I can’t believe or predict how it’s gonna end!!
As always, I love Ms. Brenda Jackson and I love all the Westmoreland's and Outlaws. Getting to know a grown-up Nadia was awesome. She was a young girl smart mouth, and now she is a grown woman checking people and taking names. Jaxon was very sweet and clear about his intentions. I'm glad Nadia got on broad. Great story as always, Ms. Brenda.
Jaxon and Nadia were made for each other and the chemistry was combustible! I fell in love with Jaxon’s determination to win over Nadia. There is no fighting or questioning true love love at first sight! The Westmoreland and the Outlaws are such an incredible group and they stick together through the good and bad!
Don’t start with this book. If you’re going to read the series, start with book 1. There are so many references to previous characters and back stories that are needed. The story is also not developed well in my opinion. There are some details missing and a couple of typos.
This is classic Brenda💜 except the one pursuing didn’t back down . True love is forever love for Jaxon and Novia. I’ve been a BJ fan since forever! From the first Westmoreland to present series. Always a feel good book n look forward to whoever is next to fall💜
Jaxon and Nadia’s attraction to one another was sizzling hot. They couldn’t resist their feelings for long. The love of family and friends made the book even sweeter. Kudos to Mrs. Jackson on another amazing story featuring the Westmoreland’s
Ms. Jackson can do no wrong in my book. I love her stories and I'm always waiting on the next one to drop. I loved that Jaxson knew exactly what he wanted and went for it. He didn't let anyone nor anything get in his way. Great love story.
Excellent. I enjoyed Nadia and Jaxon story. Loved how patient he was with her and her feisty personality and I really liked his gift to her at the end.
As always, Mrs. Jackson did not disappoint with this latest story. Poor Jaxon is such a sweet and patient man. Despite Nadia giving him fits and a run for his money, no matter what she said or did, Jaxon did not quit or give up hope.
Jaxon and Nadia's love story was very good.Nadia paid attention to Jason when she met him but didn't want him to know. Jaxon fell in love at first sight and knew that he wanted Nadia to be his wife. A beautiful love story written by Ms. Jackson.
Ms. Jackson does it again. This was a good book. Very steamy. Jason went after Nadia regardless how resistant she was. I feel there is another Westmoreland book coming.
I love reading Brenda Jackson books. This one is a winner and you would enjoy it. You can read it as standalone but you'd want to read the others. Thanks Brenda.
