The blurb is all about how he’s finally got his revenge right in front of him but actually reading the book there was none of that revenge. This book was kinda boring honestly and towards the end I caught myself skimming a lot. An extra star because Zach and Natalie could be cute at times.

I gotta say, this book is hands down one of the best arranged marriage stories I've read this year. The story revolves around Zach and Natalie. Zach is seeking revenge against Natalie's father and plans to ruin him in the business world by forming an alliance and taking him down that way. But when he has a meeting to join companies, he gets hit with a curveball. Instead of a business alliance, Natalie’s father proposes that Zach should marry Natalie. Apparently, she's this "wild heiress" who needs to be controlled.

At first, Zach thinks it's a load of crap, especially 'cause he's seen Natalie in the media acting all wild and partying. He's got this totally negative opinion of her. But guess what? When they end up living together, he realizes the girl he thought he knew from the tabloids is not the same as the one in front of him. The tension and drama in this book are off the charts. I freaking loved every minute of it, and now I'm dying to read the story of Natalie's friends. i seriously can't contain my excitement!

Natalie and Zack's story was adorable but also saddening. Zack needed someone to be there for him and help him heal and talk about his mom's death because you don't get over something like that. Natalie needed someone in her corner and Zack to her was that person for her. They both needed each other even if they both met in unconventional ways. I love them but hehe we need to see Everlee with someone of her own that makes her happy 👀

Maybe start reading at chapter 17? If you reallllllllly want to(I wouldn't... see the 1 star)

This reads like someone's masturbation fantasy.

Congrats on turning yourself on, but what got written down turned into 3- 4 paragraphs of inane description (surrondings, clothes, ridiculous in depth explanations for simple actions) for every line of dialogue. And everything gets interrupted by phone calls or people-- it's trying real hard to create IF ONLY they could blah blah blah. We all know the angtsy miscommunication trope, this is angtsy non communication, because it takes an unreasonable amount of book for whatshername to say anything. Literally.

I read this on my kindle, so it let me know that I was literally a quarter of the way in, with them already married but the sentient clay female main character hadn't managed to actually form a sentence out loud to Storms Out Magee

Aims for super angtsy with tragic back story, hits exhausting hyperdescription of anything and everything.

Chapter 17 is when they first manage to an actual conversation AFTER they start fooling around.

I was already burned out from hitting the halfway point and all the nothing going on. Even with frequent breaks reading it was grating

My heart be still and my emotions are in a tailspin! A definite 10+ star read! I was captivated from the very first word, sentence and paragraph. I devoured this book! It is just a truly enjoyable read. Zach is described as an affluent businessman, bit of a playboy and determined to take revenge on those who wronged him and his family. But as I read, I just knew there was more to him. As for Natalie, she is described as a bit of a princess, and a troubled girl with a bit of a sordid past, but is it really? When Zach is approached to marry her, he doesn’t hesitate. Does he have an ulterior motive? But as he gets to know Natalie, is everything he has known been wrong? This book goes thru their tumultuous relationship and all the ups and downs, but one thing is definitive, is they have major chemistry! It’s sizzling! My kindle almost caught on fire!! This author describes these characters in such a way, it’s as if you really know them. So many emotions take place throughout as well, sadness, anger, happiness, lust and maybe even love. This story takes you on a journey of which you never want to end. A definitive must read!

This was a fantastic read and I really enjoyed it.

When Zach’s enemy offers him his daughters hand in marriage, although hesitant Zach agrees and plans to use his new wife Natalie to destroy her father. He has preconceived ideas about the type of person Natalie is and that causes him to be cruel and callous towards her. However as he starts to realise he was wrong about her the story and his character change dramatically.

What follows is a beautiful story of exploration- both emotionally and sexually as both Natalie and Zach male discoveries about themselves and their pasts.

Filled with beautiful spice, heartbreak, hurt, revenge and love this book had it all.

Zach has been focused on revenge for years. When the man from whom he seeks revenge offers his daughter in a business deal, Zach sees this as an opportunity to fulfill his goal. Zach quickly learns that Natalie is not the partying hotel heiress that he thought, but actually a victim of her father's control and cruelty. Although Zach soon changes his mind and agrees to help Natalie with her future plans. Their relationship grows, and Zach is determined to believe and tell Natalie that he can not fall in love. Natalie is dealing with both past trauma and her new found feelings.  Natalie's father continues to threaten them and try to maintain control over.

The good-

Great chemistry

The way the characters evolve, especially Zach.

The side characters, particularly Embree, Natalie's Best Friend, and Zach's brother Javier.

The bad-

I never understood how marrying Natalie was supposed to "destroy " her father. There is no indication of this when the first thing he does is take her on a honeymoon. Basically, the plot to the story just doesn't add up for me, even though I liked the liked it as a love story.

The steamy scenes were drug out too much, like every one.

Zach saved her life, and Natalie blamed him instead of being grateful,  and it took 4 months for them to reconnect… just no.

Overall, this was a good, enjoyable read. It was not as intense or steamy (stupid Tiktok) as I expected, but it was good nonetheless. It was my first book by this author, and I will happily read more.

"I wish there was a stronger word than love because what I feel for you is so much more than a four-letter word." pg. 374

Once I picked up this book I couldn't put it down. I loved Natalie and Zach's story. I usually have a hard time with enemies to lovers trope but in this case the enemy was her father, so it was an indirect enemies to lovers. This made it less of that and more of the typical arranged marriage - "I'm not happy because this marriage was forced on me" type trope. The only thing I didn't like was how things ended.

It is one of those books where you wish the characters would just be honest with each other so that everything is out in the open and they can work together, but they are too secretive to let someone in. Personally, I don't mind a bit of this because that's where the conflict comes from... but Zach lets Natalie get away with keeping her secrets for too long when it's very obvious there are some important aspects in her life that just don't make sense.

***Spoilers Ahead***

Zach has been waiting years to get his revenge on the man that ruined his family. When the opportunity finally arises, it comes in a way he wasn't expecting. Instead of becoming business partners and ruining his business, Trent offers his daughters hand in marriage. Seeing this as the perfect opportunity to accomplish a life-long goal, Zach agrees.

Natalie is known as being a typical rich party girl in the tabloids, so Zach is quick to write her off as such. He soon realizes that you shouldn't trust everything in the media. Despite acting cruel towards Natalie she continues to act nothing like what the world believes her to be. Natalie wants to use their marriage as a way to escape her fathers cruelty and chase her dreams.

Despite becoming close as time goes on, Zach is determined that he will not let himself fall in love. "Love leads to nothing but pain for everyone involved. It's why I want nothing to do with it." pg. 205 Although he says one thing, all his actions show Natalie another. So it's no surprise when things continue to become more and more involved between the two.

But not everything you say or do can be taken back. So when Zach's plans become more known and hurt Natalie can she find it in her heart to forgive him? And just how far is he willing to go to prove to her that what led to their marriage in the beginning isn't why he wants her now.

This was a really good book that was kind of enemies to lovers with some more stuff thrown in.

At the beginning of the book Zach was an easy person to hate. You knew he has his reasons for hating Trent which were slowly revealed during the book but he did agree to marry Natalie with never meeting her. He was super cold with her but I did understand why he was hesitant to trust her given what was going on.

I think immediately you feel for Natalie as you see how her dad treats her and therefore you want her to be happy. She has dreams and goals, but she knows as long as her father is around she will never reach them. I loved what she wore to her wedding as it was one small victory for her over her dad. I loved also what she was able to do for herself in regards to the press and I was happy that was able to change her life a little bit.

There was a lot of attraction between Natalie and Zach but both had huge walls as they knew what this “marriage” entailed and how long they had to go along with it. Each did not trust the other and was very hesitant to form any type of relationship as they knew it had an expiry date.

There was a lot more going on with Zach’s businesses and that was intertwined with everything going on with both Trent and Natalie. I was very happy with Natalie was really open with Zach about her past and everything with her dad.

I was so happy to have things finally progress only to have a total flip of emotions and go back to stage one again. I was very happy with what Zach did for Natalie in regard to her goals.

The end made me so mad at what happened to Natalie and how her weakness was used against her. It definitely got very tense at the end and I was happy with how it all turned out except how a certain relationship completely imploded.

I was happy how the book ended and I look forward to more from this author!

An Inconvenient Marriage is a standalone book by A.K. MacBride. This is told in dual POV and is Zach and Natalie’s story. This is a revamped version of a book A.K. had published back in 2018. I did not read the original so I can’t comment on the differences between the two, but I can tell you that I DEVOURED this book! I was sucked in to the story and could not put it down! Alicia can write the heck out of flawed characters that you can’t help but love. This book really shows there is always more that meets the eye, and fate has a crazy way of shaking things up. I love a good fake/arranged marriage trope because the fall is so much sweeter when they try so hard to stay away from their feelings. Zach thinks he finally has revenge at the tips of his fingers. His anger and rage (although well deserved) have consumed him. Watching Natalie tear down his walls was such an emotional journey. This has an enemies to lovers vibe to it, but Zach quickly shows how big his heart is, even if he believes he is incapable of love. Natalie broke my heart. She is definitely not the pampered heiress that is presented to the world. For her to be able to still be kind and see beauty in the world makes her deserving of all the HEAs! The chemistry is so freaking hot, and the slow burn had me needing more. Watching how Zach and Natalie changed each other for the better will pull at your heartstrings and swoon. If you love a great romance where the protective hero will do anything for the heroine then this is your book! Great plot, amazing characters, all the feels, and a well earned HEA. Great job Alicia, this is how romance is done!

I discovered A.K. MacBride 3 years ago and have been obsessed with her work ever since. Her stories are always well-written, with characters that are well-developed, interesting, and easy to connect with. This book is no different. Zach has let his anger completely consume him. The only thing on his mind is revenge. What better way to achieve that than to marry Natalie, the daughter of his enemy. Natalie has been controlled by her father her whole life. Now she’s married to a raging s.o.b. who wants nothing to do with her. But Zach has a thing or two coming to him, because while Natalie is a sweet woman with a big heart, she’s also determined to break down his walls. As much as he tries, Zach just can’t help but fall for her. It’s not long before his anger turns into love, and he’ll do anything to protect this beautiful and amazing woman. They both help each other, changing each of them for the better. I devoured this book and loved every single thing about the story and its strong characters. I was thoroughly intrigued from start to finish. The writing is so descriptive; I could perfectly picture every moment as Zach and Natalie’s adoration for each other grew. The chemistry had me fanning myself. This is an absolute must read! Thank you to Give Me Books PR for gifting me this incredible book in exchange for an honest review.

An Inconvenient Marriage is a standalone book by A.K. MacBride. Reading the notes, I discovered that this is a revamped version of a book A.K. had published back in 2018. I cannot tell you the differences but this one pulled me in... It started off a little slow for me and then picked up 1/2way thru. I enjoyed the banter, the steam & the chmistry b/c the two characters.

Zach is set on taking revenge on the man who hurt his mother. He will do what it takes to down that man... When he sets up up a business deal, little did he expect to walk away with the man’s daughter. A daughter whos a spolied "party girl". But it will be a blessing to hurt that man by destroying "his pride and joy".

Natalie has been completely controlled by her father her entire life. She has never been given an opportunity to enjoy life, make her own decisions, go to art school, etc. Now he is forcing her to marry a man she's never met for his own business purposes.

Zach and Natalie's story was an unexpected, yet, enjoyable read.
The friction between the two characters was just right—enough to create a burn—and while their circumstances were unusual I enjoyed their dynamics.

Zach started out cold and calculating but the innocent and naive Natalie eventually thawed him out.
I enjoyed watching Natalie blossom under Zach's care and praise and although he could sometimes be rather harsh, he was protective of her in a way she had never experienced.

Watching their relationship change really enjoyable to read. Seeing the internal struggle waging in Zach's head was the best part.
I admired his attempt to try—oh, how he tried—to keep his stony facade up and the space between them wide, but Natalie's timidness and her inexperience called to everything in him, and in the end, he was too selfish to resist.

The last few chapters had me devouring the pages like a starving person, they were intense, emotional and jam-packed with uncertainty and violence.

The epilogue was a nice touch.

This is the first book by A.K. MacBride that I have read and I loved it. Zach wants revenge on the man who hurt his mother. He will destroy the man’s daughter if that’s what it takes. Natalie has been completely controlled by her father her entire life. Now she is being married off by him. Zach wants nothing to do with Natalie. He has read all about the spoiled party girl. But, could he be wrong about her. It doesn’t take much time at all after the wedding to realize she is nothing like he thought. Zach quickly realizes that she deserves revenge just as much as he does. He will give her everything he can in the next six months but never his heart. Natalie agrees with the deal but who is she kidding her heart is already invested. She won’t argue though. Natalie is breaking down Zach’s walls without even trying or knowing she is doing it. Natalie’s father won’t just go away though. What will happen when he makes his move? This book was a fantastic read. Natalie and Zach are perfect for each other. Both help each other in ways they weren’t expecting. Zach gives Natalie freedom and she gives him his heart back. I loved theses characters. I look forward to reading more books by A.K. MacBride in the future.

Zack and Natalie!

This story was great! A guy who doesn't give his heartto no girl and then he decides to seek revenge on his mother's death by marrying the guy's daughter, but right off the bat he knew something was wrong with Natalie, she was skennish and wouldn't eat,and acting like she was abused.But Zack was finally able tom break down her walls and they slowly talk about things and one was her dreams and slowly Zack was losing his heart to her and she was having feelings for him,but her father got her and mix things in her head and spread lies but Zack end up killing him in self defense but Natalie doesn't want anything to do with him and his lies so after four months Zack finally explains things to Natalie and he convinces her that he r loves her and he really does,he gave her his heart,she means so much to him and she loves him too.I have never read anythingby this author and the first time was so good and I will read more by this author too! It doesn't hurt the guy on the cover is very hot looking! Worth more than five stars! Please read this story you won't be disappointed!

Zach has been driven anger & on the path of revenge for understandable reasons, but it's left a mark. He finally has it within his reach when the man he wants to destroy offers up his daughter, Natalie, for marriage, so of course Zach agrees. Little did he know that Natalie is just what the doctor ordered for his tortured soul, but she's breaking down his walls slowly, and it's not too long before he's starting to question that path of vengeance. Of course, he's not quite ready to do that, and you already know it will cause some issues when it's brought to light since it will definitely hurt this amazing girl. Obviously this means there are secrets, and secrets don't make friends, but they do bring the twists in hot as I end up on the edge of my seat waiting for that other shoe to drop. I LOVED this story a great deal, and couldn't put it down for anything until I had all the answers as I was all in from the jump so yeah, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

An inconvenient marriage

This is the first book by this author that I've read and I was blown away by this story. This is a captivating read from the first page. This story follows the characters Zach and Natalie, these two characters have such intense chemistry between them. This is a marriage of convenience but with so many emotions added to the story. This book is filled with sadness, anger, and happiness and definitely hot and steamy in places. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future. This is an amazing read from start to finish.

This book caught me by surprise after reading some serious duds in this genre. When I tell you I fell in love with Zach - I fell in LOVE with Zach!! Natalie is one of the sweetest, most innocent FMC I've read to date, but she managed to bring Zach to his knees without even trying. I loved how possessive he was of her from the get go, even though he was in denial. I knew that what Zach said to her father would come to bit him in the ass, and sure enough it did. The spice is hot!!! I would have loved to have seen Zach interact with Everlee more because that would have been hilarious (hopefully we get some in the next book). I also really wanted to have Zach see the abuse on Natalie at the wedding/post wedding considering how handsy her father was getting. I just wanted to see him kick her fathers ass! This book is angsty, spicy, sweet, slow burn, and alphahole MMC at it's finest. I just hate that now I have to wait a year for the next installment.

Zach and Natalie . . .

I don’t see how marrying a man’s daughter lets Zach feel like he is getting any kind of revenge on the man who offered her. It also makes Zach a bit of a jerk for taking away Natalie’s choice of who she would want as a husband someday. And when he finds the information he thought he knew was actually incorrect, having believed the ugly rumors with no facts to back it up, he should have just walked away. Revenge is for those who feel a need to “get even” although it rarely works. But unless it is punishing the actual perpetrator, I don’t see that it is effective at all and makes no sense. And if he inadvertently got his new woman out from under that miserable man’s control, I don’t give him any credit for saving her since he didn’t do it to help her but to appease himself.

On a path towards revenge Zach has agreed to marry his enemy’s one and only daughter, Natalie. From the tabloids Natalie is everything that Zach despises in a person however when they come to meet Natalie is nothing like the rumours. Natalie is breaking Zach’s walls day by day, however is he willing to give up his revenge or will he destroy the both of them?

My heart hurt for Natalie and what her father put her through despite having such a difficult upbringing it was a joy to see how she still saw the good in the world. I loved how Zach was aiding Natalie in finding herself and becoming wonderful woman she became. Despite their turn tumultuous beginning seeing Natalie breaking down Zach’s defences to help one another grown, their protectiveness and adoration for one another was great. Overall this was an enjoyable read!💛

Zach wanted revenge on Natalie’s father. He married Natalie and very quickly, she fell in love with him. He told her father in a phone call that he had only married Natalie in order to “break” her to get his revenge.
After hearing a recording of the call, Natalie was heartbroken; she left Zach and filed for divorce. Zach tricked Natalie into seeing him and when she tried to explain to him how badly he had hurt her and broken her heart, he silenced her by forcing her to kiss him against her will and then said to her, “With all due respect, …, shut the f@%k up and listen.” There was no apology. There was no expression of regret. There was no acknowledgement of wrongdoing. He just made a bunch of excuses for why he did what he did and then told her that he loved her and all was forgiven. 🤬🤬🤬

𝗔𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 was fun and gripping. The story follows Natalie - a sweet and innocent young woman; mistreated by her father and given in marriage to a man out for revenge (against her father).

Zach was a grumpy Spaniard out on a mission, only to have his world flipped upside down by a woman he wasn’t supposed to fall in love with. Too bad!

They made a great couple! Together they learn about love and other things and as always with these men, Zach was protective and very supportive of Natalie and of her dreams.

Though I expected what happens towards the end, I didn’t think things would turn out the way they did. However, I was happy our MCs got their HEA!

If you like a spicy billionaire romance check this out!

~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Review~~~~~~~~~~
When I first started this book I wasn't sure how I was going to like it. Zach is just in this for revenge and the way he treated Natalie. Natalie isn't who she appears to be in the tabloids and doesn't know if she exchanged one prison for another, but then it all seems to change. Zach and Natalie's road is full of huge potholes but man did I enjoy the ride. I could not put this book down once I started and I fell in love with Zach and Natalie, they are truly needing something in each other that neither expected. Trent... I have no kind words for him. Evie; I feel like there is a story there that I need more of. I loved this story and A.K. MacBride has won me over as a new fan!!!
It felt like the same old cliché of arranged / forced marriage where he marries her to destroy her father, at first he hates her then they develop feelings then she finds out why he married her and they have the 3rd act break up.
There's nothing wrong with this trope i usually eat it up , but this book had nothing special.
For instance in king of wrath by ana huang there fmc and mmc were unique and Vivienne was a boss bitch with her own business who neither relied on her father nor husband and spent her own money, and when she found out their deal she was ready to throw both of them out , Dante was also an interesting character with alot of growth
But this book gave nothing but a repetitive trope
Nothing new nothing nor ground breaking, it's like every LJ Shen book ever
Zack wants revenge because Natalie father killed his mother, and destroyed his family. So he hatched a plan to destroy Natalie’s father business.
The thing is, when he goes to a meeting to join companies, her father hits him with a curve ball - marriage - because Natalie is a wild heiress, who needs to be controlled.
The truth the girl Zack thought was a wild drunk mess, is actually a little broken because of her father’s abuse.
So when the lines between love and revenge start to cross, can he give up his revenge for her?
I really enjoy this book. The weeding scene 😂! Loved it! And the scene where he force feeds her? Love it 😊!
The thing I hated was the ending. It was unrealistic and predictable. But still is a good book.
7/10 would recommend!
Happy Readings 🤍
