This story is about of two sets of identical twins, each finding love with an opposite-pair twin, along with the (sometimes-sexual) relationship with their own twin.

(Sorry, couldn't resist that pic.) : )

For me, that description alone is an equation for all kinds of hotness right there, but...

I never really thought I'd be saying this, but my feelings toward the story are a bit ambivalent.

The story of Evan and Alek, then Brennan and Luka meeting and becoming committed felt a bit insta-love'ish to me, but not in an overly-believable way.

I would've preferred a bit more slow burn and pursuit versus the "wham, bam, coupla fucks and we're boyfriends" approach that the book used, especially since everyone but Brennan came across as a bit commitment phobic.

As the story begins, Evan, our blond, 18 y.o. 'main' MC, has discovered that he has an identical twin, that their mother has recently passed away from cancer and that said long-lost twin, Brennan, will be coming to live with him. Evan was not excited at the prospect.

Next we meet tall, dark and Russian 25 y.o. Alek and Luka, who did date other people, but were comfortable having sex as part of their close relationship.

Through a one-off bathroom tryst in a bar dive, Evan and Alek meet, then Brennan meets Luka at the gym where Luka is a personal trainer.

However, unbeknownst to any of the 4 brothers, their twin was dating their lover's brother. Confused yet? Try keeping the names straight. Oy! That was a huge challenge at first.

Alek and Luka confide in Evan and Brennan that they share some good ole' fashioned 'brotherly love,' on occasion, which planted a seed in Evan and Brennan's minds.

Then that seed sprouted, grew legs (and a penis) and had several hot and steamy orgasms over the course of the story.

Yes, all of that was very titillating and was fun to read. As in, a *lot* of fun.

But while the story touched on how Evan attempted suicide at 14, Alek and Luka were alone growing up and Brennan nursed his mother for several years prior to her death, by the last page, this story, by itself, didn't feel overly complete for me.

Do we see tons of hot pairings, nearly everyone doing nearly everything to everyone else? Yes. It was sexy and dirty and oh so taboo.

However, the story, while not a cliffhanger, left me feeling that if there hadn't been a book 2, I would've been left extremely hanging.

So if you're the type of reader who is looking for a one-and-done read, this probably isn't the book for you.

But if you're looking to make an investment in a longer, new dual-twincest series of books, then this would be where you might want to start.

The first book was both sweet and low-angst, so I'd personally recommend it, but not really unless you plan to continue on with the series.

I'd have to rate this first book in the series at around 3.75 *him-and-him-and-him-and-me* stars.

My copy of the book was provided by the publisher in exchange for a fair, unbiased review.

** I'm starting book 2 now, so more to come. : )

"Could you picture it,Bren?"Luka whispered against his lips."Evan taking that plug? Made you wet didn't it? You want to watch Alek fuck him don't you?"
"Hell yes,I do" Brennan moaned

My God, these are some of the hottest M/M sex scenes I have read!!

This book does have taboo subject matter but I have to say it's tantamount to the Author's writing that at no time did I feel in any way uncomfortable reading the SEX scenes between the men, in fact I found it highly erotic
It's one of the best M/M books I've read recently and I will definitely be reading the next one when I've calmed myself down after all this hotness!!!

I love a good taboo story, and I can understand the appeal of this book. I’ll admit I was just expecting fluff and sex. I wasn’t expecting it to be an emotional read. For me it was, and the sadness I felt outweighed any enjoyment of the sexy times.

I couldn’t get passed:

Brennan and Evan being separated at birth and how badly it affected Evan. Living his life and not understanding why he didn’t feel whole…like a piece of him was missing.

What Alek did to Luka. Even if he was remorseful and Luka forgave him. It was too heart-wrenching for me.

The unprotected sex that happened between Brennan and Evan. Again, remorse and forgiveness, but that scene added to the sadness I was already feeling.

It’s me and not the book? Probably.

****4 Stars****

This was one of the most indecent stories I have ever read. It was exactly what I was in a mood for. Such a guilty pleasure!

Such a sweethearts!

It went deep in what is not acceptable in our society: love between brothers.

By “deep” I don’t mean the author dissected this matter psychologically. No, the “deep” is to be read as down to the dirty action.

Sex, lots of hot sex, with a storyline behind it. So, if you are in a mood for hot – because it was to the T and stretching your boundaries with a forbidden read, look no more.

The alphas

Love the guys!

They had very distinct personalities. Brennan was my favourite. He was the most sensitive, delicate and a given person. At the same time he seemed the strongest, all down to the author talent in developing his character.
What I didn't like was the instalove but then, I was never a fan of this trope.
Overall it was a great read and I have to confess that I had a blast searching for this pics!

This is taboo at its best, therefore, not for all.

I was going to dip my toe in the brocest pool but figured why not jump all the way in with some double twincest. I am so glad that I chose this book to start with. While the subject is taboo and could have been played strictly for titillation, Lynn Kelling has written a story that explores the characters with such depth and emotion, I could feel the deep need each of them had to be loved by the person that completes them, both physically and emotionally.

Identical twins Evan and Brennan were separated as babies and never knew the other existed until age 18. After caring for their mother until her death, Brennan moves into the home Evan shares with their father. Neither twin, nor apparently their parents, ever realized the toll the separation had taken on them both emotionally and physically. Evan had a difficult time as a young teenager, resulting in some very bad decisions that affected everyone who cared for him, including Brennan. Both Evan and Brennan feel an attraction to each other and while Brennan is out and open about his sexuality, Evan has been denying his for years. With their father working out of town, the two are left on their own to work out their new relationship.

At 25 years old, Aleksy and Luka, also identical twins, have a relationship that goes beyond the accepted societal boundaries of brotherly love. Neglected by their parents, Aleksy took it upon himself to look out for Luka, but one night fueled by drugs and other bad decisions changed their relationship. Since then Alek has been carrying the guilt of what he made his brother do, but also has been carrying on a sexual relationship with Luka that both men feel no shame in and desperately need.

Alek meets Evan one night at the bar he works at, while Brennan meets Luka at the gym. While navigating these new relationships, Evan and Brennan are also trying to come to terms with their growing feelings for each other and the realization that each needs the other to feel like a complete person. Alek and Luka are very open about the sexual nature of their relationship and truly hope to help Brennan and Evan sort through their feelings.

Each man is damaged and hurt and each character stands out as an individual. Their issues are not going to be easily solved and, by embarking on these relationships, are likely only to be complicated more. My heart especially broke for Evan who is so lonely and confused, and is really the focus of this group. Alek falls fast for him and has an almost obsessive need to protect and care for him. There is plenty of chemistry and heat between the men, and as the couples become threesomes and then a foursome the book ends on a hopeful note and what I would consider a HFN ending. Knowing what these men will face in the future, I am eagerly moving straight on to book 2.

I stayed home today so I could lay in bed and read this book... and start the next. The fact that I've not eaten more than a piece of toast should tell you where I'm at.

I just finished and am heating up a crappy microwave meal so I can move on quickly to the next book...

maybe I'll shower first.

maybe I won't.

maybe I'll nap because I can hardly see the screen as I'm typing.

good think I can type well.

my eyes are so blurry, glasses won't help.

good thing I can increase the font.

gotta go...

things that I was told are wrong happen in this book and undoubtedly the next.

I don't care that they're wrong. for some reason, Lynn makes them okay for these two sets of twins.

it's okay and it's hot.

okay, so I'm a pervert. so?

I liked the bad and wrong stuff.

more than anything though...

I loved he right stuff. the love these brothers find in each other.

I can't imagine what it would be like to have a twin. I do know that I'd not be the same with out my brothers and sisters. I'd be alone and that's not okay. So these guys finding each other outweigh everything else.

oh, gotta go. the timer just went off. my bountiful feast of microwave crap is ready. I must give myself strength to continue on.

the next book is calling.

Obviously twincest books are not for everyone, so the best advice I can throw out there for anyone thinking about delving into My Brother's Lover is know your limits before doing so.

This is without a doubt my favourite twincest book. Because it's plenty sexy, it really is hot, but it also has a building storyline. The story is fairly rooted in the whole psychological twin- bond thing. Evan gets to meet and know his twin brother, Brennan, for the first time when they are eighteen. Acrimonious separation and divorce saw the boys split up - rather King Solomon-esque of mum and dad - when they were very young. So young neither knew they had a twin until their mother dies, their father reaches out to the son he let go, and Brennan comes to live with Evan.

Both Evan and Brennan have issues that affect them profoundly. Both boys knew something was missing, not definitively, but at a soul-deep level, particularly Evan. As the book progresses they are starting to feel more whole, but in the beginning they seemed poles apart.

"Jesus Christ. So you're a gay vegetarian with nice clothes and nice furniture who does naked yoga and shit."
"And your an uber-macho tough guy that smokes, drinks, loves guns and kills his own food."
"Yeah, that about sums it up," Evan sighed, nodding. "We really have nothing in common, do we?"
"Well we both have blue eyes and freckles," Brennan pointed out.

A lot of what occurs does so because Evan meets a sexy black-haired guy at a pub one night and things happen in the bathroom. Evan can't admit he's gay, has copped shit for it at school. He doesn't want to see the guy again but Alek comes looking for him when he nicks a top with Mike's Garage on it and knows where this hot blonde guy works. Meanwhile, Brennan has met another gorgeous black-haired guy at the gym, and Brennan is not closeted at all. So the blonde twins meet the black-haired Popovic twins, and Evan and Alek and Brennan and Luka become boyfriends. Alek and Luca also hook up with each other and you know it's only a matter of time before everyone is in for sin.

Alek and Luka have their own issues as well. But they love one another and are also in love with one another. Their father wasn't around and their mother didn't care about them so they have taken their relationship to another level. Both have sacrificed something for the their brother, and Alek holds deep-seated guilt about some of his past actions to do with Luka.

The best descriptions of this book are -

Taboo.

It really goes to places a lot don't. It is a double bio twincest. No "steps" in this book.

Hot.

"What?"
"It's really hot that you're actually a virgin. I love that no one's had you yet. Means you're pristine, unspoiled. And, just so you know, I'm definitely willing to stick around whether you eventually decide to let me fuck you or not. It's a bonus but it's not everything. What have you done? Besides, you know, what we did yesterday," Alek smirked.

"C'mon, Jailbait. I just want to suck you...everywhere...and then, you know, we could go get coffee or a couple of steaks or something."
"I'm pretty sure the fucking comes after dinner on dates usually," Evan retorted...

Brooding.

Brennan wasn't just a new house guest, he was a warped mirror; the perfect reminder of everything Evan had done wrong and would never be. They had avoided each other for eighteen years, existing in entirely different worlds through the concerted efforts of their mother and father, so why did it all need to change? Evan had no say in the decision, no ability to keep out his eighteen-year-old counterpart..."

Building to something that will hurt at some stage.

Twinky/Young

Evan and Brennan are eighteen. Alek and Luka are twenty five and they are written just like guys at their respective ages.

Gutsy and passionate writing

Lynn Kelling is never apologetic for the subject matter. Got to totally love and respect that. The last thing I want in my erotic, kinky, taboo writing is an excuse for what happens. I see it, authors go somewhere and then it's like they must feel some contrition for being...naughty, kinky, erotic. I do not like it when that happens. Not Ms. Kelling, though, she embraces it, obviously loves the characters, and is not in the slightest bit judgemental of these guys. Un-phased, she bores full steam ahead into the story and their lives and world. I loved the passion. On to book two now. I must see where these guys are going to take me.

18+ only, NSFW review. Spoilers.

I should have read the blurb better. This was sex. More Sex. Incest Sex. More Sex. Some story. More Sex. The big Shabang. The end. Story wise, way too many assumptions have to be made due to a lack of content or time jumps. serious issues skimmed over. Did I mention all the sex? This book should have been called - Sex With My Twin and His boyfriends Twin Brother

Ok, this book definitely won't be for everyone. Twincest is rather taboo, of course, so if that's a limit for you, do yourself a favor and keep on walking. If twincest trips your trigger, however, I can definitely recommend this one.

Hot doesn't even come close to describing the sex in this book. But there is story and character development too. Lynn Kelling does a really good job at portraying damaged characters. And, though the story isn't really believable, I was able to suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy it.

Evan and Brennan are eighteen years old and identical. They were separated as babies when their parents divorced and neither one knew about the other until very recently. They have different socio-economic backgrounds, but both of them are a bit damaged in their own way. Brennan because he watched his mother die from cancer and Evan because life is just plain old harsh. Evan had to learn early on to keep part of himself locked away in order to survive. They each start out mildly resenting the other, but more so, their father, who orchestrated throwing them together.

They each meet and start dating (separately and unknown to each other) another set of twins, Alek and Luka. Akek and Luka are a bit older, 25, and they've had a sexual relationship with each other for years. They've always been there for each other during their awful upbringing and that developed into a more physical relationship when they were in a heavy drug use phase. The drugs are a thing of the past, now, but the sex has stuck around.

The story revolves around the twins building a relationship with their counterpart in the other set of twins and then, later, merging the relationships somewhat. They don't become a true foursome, but they definitely intermingle.

All in all, I enjoyed the book.

Well this was certainly everything I was told it was. Very hot, but it's also got a great underlying story line and I totally fell in love with Evan, a very broken young man.

When Evan's twin brother shows up, a brother he never knew he had, it sets a chain reaction in place that ultimately leads to Evan finally healing from the past. He always knew there was something wrong with him, something missing and had even tried to commit suicide in his early teens in an effort to end the uncomfortability of his life. Brennan, his twin, is also in need of love and affection, having just come from watching their mother die of cancer. The men were separated at birth, neither knowing of the other's existence and when they get together, their healing begins.

Coincidentally, each brother meets a young man who spark their romantic interest. And those men happen to be twins as well. A stretch? Maybe, but the author really explains it quite convincingly and the chemistry is so off the wall that I really didn't care if it was a fluke or not.

Twosomes and twosomes and foursomes in this one. Not for those who would be offended by twincest. There is a sequel to this but the author left all four men with a HFN so one can stop here or go on to see how their stories end.

Well this was interesting ! Wasn't sure about this taboo story but I must say the way it was written made the whole story plausible and easy. In the end I was happy with the bubble that these four men could created - they clearly fell hard for each other and seemed to understand and accept the twin bonds. While the "I love you's " came pretty quick, I was glad that both brothers began to find peace.... of course issues loom ahead but for now they are happy enough.

Soooooo.....I have to admit, I never in a million years thought I would willingly read a book about twincest. I don't even like the idea of step-brother romances, and they aren't even related! But I recently discovered Lynn Kelling's books, and I kind of fell in love with her ability to write deeply flawed, damaged, but still incredibly relatable heroes. And drama and danger and tension and supportive, loving relationships. And she isn't afraid to do really terrible things to her characters and then show their journey back toward being whole again.

Anyway, a few days ago a blog I follow on Twitter posted an ARC review of a new book by Lynn, so I checked it out. It's for a prequel to this series, focusing on Evan's backstory, and just reading the blurb and review had me super-intrigued. But then I was like, twins? Incest? Not my cuppa. But I'd read Caged Jaye/Arctic Absolution, and after only two books I was pretty sure this woman could write anything.

So I bought this book. And didn't move from my couch for the rest of the day. And when I was finished, I immediately bought book two. And then book three, and while I could have been completely happy if that was the last one, a note at the end said there will be a fourth, so YAY!

I have such a book hangover right now.

The idea of a book about not only one pair of twins committing incest is enough to turn people away, but two pairs? All falling into a complicated quadrangle of a relationship? But it works. Somehow Lynn makes it work, and you really, truly care about these guys. And she makes it make sense that the characters would love each other this way, instead of just using a taboo topic for titillation. These four men are all broken in just the right ways that they do all fit together in a way that makes them all stronger for it.

I put it off for so long because it didn't want to be let down. It seemed like a tall order: Incest, twincest, mmm, mmmm.... that's the dream right? Maybe it's just my dream.
All I can say is I'm so happy. This was epically entertaining and sexy as fuck. I started it last night and thought about it all day, couldn't wait to get back to it.
I love this book. I can see why others might not love it like I do but this may as well have been written just for me.
This is the funny thing, possible objections to this book:
1. All sex, mostly sex, really hot sex....... what is this problem? There is not a problem, the sex is un-fucking-believable!
2. Taboo - again, how is this a problem?? I was afraid the taboo would only be hinted at. Um, NO. The taboo is served on a silver platter of filth and I love it!
3. First time. Thank you Lynn Kelling for not pretending like it is a cake walk to have a penis in your rectum for the first time. It's not!
4. Mental illness, heavy subject matter. Well done! I did not find this bit to be over done or unnecessary at all.

I don't think I will read the others. The drama that appears to come next is not interesting to me. But this... reread every year until I die.

By FAR the best twincest/incest book I've ever read. Nothing about the relationship between either of the sets of twins ever felt dirty. Just read this and book 2 back to back in one day (at home recovering from surgery, don't judge!) 5 very big stars!!

This was a smoking hot double twincest story. Alek and Luka are older twins raised be absentee parents. Luckily, they were there for each other physically and emotionally when they needed it. Evan and Brennan are eighteen year old twins who were split up as babies in an ugly divorce. They grew up feeling the void and it messed them up. Brennan moved in with Evan just recently and the two are trying to figure out how to fit together as twins. Luka and Brennan start dating and Alek and Evan start screwing around. There is a little comic relief when the guys find out that they are dating twins. The sexcapades get wild when Evan and Brennan find some healing in sex with each other. With the help and advice of their boyfriends who have already melded sexually, Evan and Brennan start down their long road to becoming whole and healthy.

Older twin brothers, Alex and Luca fall in love/lust with twin brothers, Brennan and Evan. Brennan and Evan had been raised separate, one by their mother and one by their father, and didn't even know each other existed. Then the mother dies and Brennan moves in with his newly found twin brother and the insistence of their dad. Now they knew what was missing in their souls. Each meets the older twin brothers and let the sex begin. So yeah, basically hot, incestual sex with a plot. Alex just pissed me off. I never did warm up to him. Hence the four stars. Well that and there was just not the emotional connection that was really needed to actually make me feel the emotional turmoil instead of telling me about the emotional turmoil. JMHO

Fantastic Book!!!! Heartfelt strong feelings between two strangers that were twin brothers who were separated from each other when they were infants. This was unique book with quite a twist of in regards to the love the brothers Evan and Brennan had for each other and their boy friends Alek and Luka. Very steamy sexy scenes. :-) Can't wait to read the next book in this series to see how this interesting relationship works out.

I'm conflicted here because in one hand I really was fascinated by this story.
Twins always have been intriguing and captivating for me and I loved how their emotions and feelings really are explained and showed.
It was also REALLY HOT.

description

description

But on the other hand... The I love yous and words of utter devotion are very TOO fast here and it tends to annoy me when that happens.
Then again, we are dealing with twins and I can't imagine how everything must be overwhelming and intense when you were separated from your identical twin for 18 years and BAM... Here he is all gorgeous and gay just like you...
And in top of that, there they are, another set of twins that can explain and understand everything and fuck you at the same time like no one else..

Also, the sadness and loneliness was a living thing throughout all the pages and it was difficult sometimes to go passed it.

So. Yes, I liked it and I will be reading the following books but I feel like I missed something here and I have no idea what.

I received a copy of this title to read and review for Wicked Reads

4 extremely TABOO stars.

I'm not entirely sure how to review this novel for several reasons: I want the reader to be surprised, so I don't want to give a rundown. I'm not sure how to put my thoughts into words. & because of its very taboo subject matter, it is difficult to put into words.

Little bit of background on how I got my hands on this title. (not really a spoiler, just in case you don't give a hoot

This book isn't for the faint of heart. Aside from the double mint twins (double your pleasure, double your fun) x 2. Yes, TWO sets of identical twins! There is some deep subject matter just lurking beneath the surface. Subjects that make a reader experience the intense feels. While this looks like the taboo-ist of the taboo, filled with hedonistic sex, there is a lot of depth.

I liked the fact that it wasn't entirely predictable. The character traits of specific twins contradicted what I was expecting. Like the initial narrator seemed like a burly, gruff man, but he turned out to be an emotional, shy, introvert virgin who wasn't a big guy at all. His counterpart, who seemed to be the epitome of a twink, turned out to be the alpha of the pair. With the big twins, the hero is actually the emotionally corrupt one and the happy-go-lucky counterpart is wounded yet more emotionally stable than all of them. (I found Luka to be the most stable) <-- none of this makes sense to someone who hasn't read the book. So just read the book ;)

Hey, I warned it was a difficult book to review since I refuse to give the plot away. But...

So, the story is about two pairs of twins who are dating, amongst other naughty shenanigans. But there is a third romance thread with a pair of roommates of the oldest, bigger twins. I really enjoyed this thread, and it made me hunger for more.

Now, I don't need to tell you the sex was surface of the Sun hot, as that is beyond obvious. I was squirming around. There were times in the beginning of the book I was covering my face and whimpering, "Oh, my God!" during their initial meetings, and especially when one set of new lovers met their identical counterparts. "Oh, my God!"

I was blushing for them, I tell you!

One of my biggest issues with books is insta-anything. Albeit love, lust, or infatuation. & there was some hot and heavy insta-lust, followed by a hefty dose of insta-love going on in this story. But I was able to overlook it, forgive it, and continue on without mentally complaining the entire way through. (Yes, I am a PitA of reader/reviewer) So that should tell you how into the story I was to not care.

Now, I'm a certified pervert. A total hedonist deviant. I eat this type of story for breakfast (which is why I specifically hunted for it) But, I wouldn't suggest someone new to this genre to start with this book. It's a genre people tend to get eased into. Multiple incest is a bit more hardcore than most. But it was written in a way that wasn't shocking. You saw it coming a mile away so it shouldn't creep you out too badly, while still getting folks like me off mentally.

Warning: if you're not reading this book for its taboo-ness, then why the hell are you reading reviews for it?

Now, I just read the 1st in the series from page 1 until the end, but I'm not going to dive right into book 2 just yet. I think too much of a good thing is too much. It would desensitize the reader. So I'm going to take a step back and read a few other review books I have queued up, and then hit book 2 after I'm sensitive to the taboo again.

I swear, I've just finished Twin Ties in a state of post coital book bliss with an urge to light a ciggy...and I don't even smoke!!! Omg! I loved, loved, LOVED this story and I'm still not sure how the series has managed to escape my notice for so long.

This certainly ranks way high amongst the hottest books I've ever read but as amazing as the sex was...and believe me it was OFF. THE. CHARTS. fuck hot!... it was the dynamics and intense emotional connection between the main four characters that shone for me. Yes, it's twincest and a taboo situation in the eyes of society, but this is Ms Kelling we're talking about and if anybody can take subject matter as controversial as this, and give it substance and depth outside of the expected heat factor, then Lynn can.

The story is based mainly around a small cast of seven...Evan, Brennan, Alek and Luka: the four MC's...Presley, Carter and Jimmy, three really likable supporting characters, whose friendship with both sets of twins is integral to the structure of the story...and an absentee father, who may not be present in person during the course of this book but his influence and past actions play a big part in why Evan is such an emotional mess to begin with.

Two sets of identical twins but four completely distinctly different characters, by the time eighteen year old Evan and Brennan and twenty five year old Alek and Luka had been fully introduced, if their names had never been used again I would have known each of them just by personality and temperament alone and fell hard for each one of them and their individual quirks and traits.

This isn't about intricate plots or complicated storylines, it's quite simply a character lead love story involving four conflicted men, coming together by an almost psychic connection that we know for a fact can exist between identical twins because they're so closely tied. Lynn Kelling uses that intense connection and portrays it in a way that nothing about their finally coming together as a foursome ever felt sordid or corrupt. It's not a choice made casually, but it's four consenting adults whose bond is so close, it transcends what we perceive as 'normal, and in a way just becomes a natural progression for these guys...

A Joyfully Jay review.

4.5 stars

My Brother’s Lover is a really well written, thought provoking story that goes much deeper than its porny premise would suggest.

But before we go too far into the deep and serious, let’s go for the heat, ok? So yes, this book is hot. I mean really hot. Evan and Alek, and Brennan and Luka are super sexy together. Both older men are very sensitive to not pushing their younger lovers too fast, but it doesn’t take long before things heat up with them. Despite his sweet, yoga practicing, nurturing nature, Brennan is kind of a sex fiend, which I loved. It is a nice twist that the seemingly wilder Evan is the tamer one and Brennan is the one who is all about the sex. Luka and Alek are older, and big, brawny guys, so we get lots of sexy times that play off their differences in size and experience with the younger twins.

Of course on top of these relationships, we learn right away that Luka and Alek are sexually involved with one another on occasion. The two have kind of traumatic past together that led to a sexual encounter, and after that they explored it further. The two have been involved since they were late teens, so at this point they are at a place where they are totally comfortable with themselves and their connection to one another. Then as the story develops, we see Evan and Brennan slowly begin a sexual relationship as well. And by the end of the book, we have some action among these guys in a variety of pairings. Now, I am not going to say if this was real life I wouldn’t be all kinds of squicked out. But for a story? Oh yes, this definitely worked for me. Seriously you guys, so hot. There are some themes of exhibitionism here (one of my hot buttons), as well as age differences, menage scenes, and of course, the incest taboo. So this one is all kinds of sexy.

Ok, I guess I have to start this review out with saying that the reason I picked up this book was for the smut. Two sets of twins getting it on with each other was exactly what I was looking for and why I chose it. If you do not like twincest, this is not the book for you. The relationship between the twins is a major storyline, so if you don't like it, you should probably look elsewhere for your smutty goodness.

For all that I was just looking for a hot read, I was actually surprised by how much I liked the story. Not just the porn, but the storyline that backed it. I enjoyed all four of the MCs, and never felt like I wanted to kick one of them out of the story. They played very well w/ each other--and I do mean the played very nicely indeed--but each character felt unique, and it wasn't just four interchangeable blobs with different names.

I also liked how they tackled some pretty big issues here. Suicide, cancer, death, rape, drug abuse...and just general shitty pasts. These things were mostly taken seriously and were not just there as just a soundbite to throw out in a conversation. Their pasts have a lot of impact on how they are now, and it shows. And the whole incest storyline was treated rather nicely. Both set of twins come at it from different points in their lives, but they have to not only come to terms with their love for their brothers, but for the men they have now found and love. It is a tangled web, and for a book that I was just expecting to be basically porn, it handled most of the issues very well.

And well, for the parts that are porn? Those were done really well, as well. The sex is seriously off the charts hot, but also the connections between each of the characters made it more than just porn. Some of it was just sex, some of it was love, and some of it was just raunchy goodness, but together it was something that showed the depth of feeling and the growth in each relationship.

I do however have a major, huge, ginormous issue with the way that some aspects of Evan's past was handled by not only his brother, but by Alek--and sometimes Luka--as well. When Bren found out about Evan's

There was also a tremendous amount of crying in the book. I am not against crying when it is called for, but it seemed to be the go-to reaction to everything in this book. I just think that if you are in a place where everything you do is basically making you have a breakdown...maybe this is not the time nor the place to add overly-complicated relationships to your plate.

For what was just going to be a night full of smutty goodness, this was a really good book...but something just made me a bit uncomfortable (I'm not talking about the incest, because clearly I knew about that/wanted it when I picked up the book). So I am going to say a provisional 4.5 stars for the smut, and 3.5 for the story. Do with that what you will.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review through Wicked Reads.

What a sexy, naughty, emotional roller coaster!!

I really enjoyed this book. I don't think I put it down until I had finished it. I don't want to give away the plot, so I won't go too much into detail for this review. From the cover, I wasn't expecting what was inside, but with this type of book, a cover would be hard to fit. Do not judge this one by it's cover.

First off, this is a very taboo storyline. It isn't for everyone, but for those of us who do like the darker side of things, there is a box full of tricks to get your mind going. We get TWO sets of gorgeous twins, taboo and steamy sex, crazy surprises, and an emotional depth to capture your heartstrings. There is even a side romance between two other characters that had me rooting for them. I enjoyed that especially because it reminded me of my favorite author and I love how other characters can really bring to a storyline.

I will admit that I was a little turned off by the instant "I love you." moments, but that lasted all of two seconds before I was sucked into the rest of the story. It had me laughing, nearly crying, surprised, and even blushing at moments. I was happy that it wasn't predictable and I found myself surprised more than once. The characters weren't just stereotyped and typical. They didn't respond and react the way I though they might, and I loved that. I also enjoyed the balance between the characters. They may be twisted and messed up, but the author worked that perfectly to create a deliciously deep and stable relationship base.

This is definitely another book that had me falling in love with some gay men! I will definitely recommend this book to all taboo, M/M, and twisted book lovers. I want to tell anyone reading this review to please just read this book. It's definitely worth it.

4.5 Stars!

My Brother's Lover is taboo, why? Well 2 sets of identical twins 1 from each set dating 1 from the other set while set of twins #1 gets in on with each other and set of twins #2 get it on with each other and all 4 get busy all together!

While it may sound like there is a whole lotta kinky goodness going on AND there totally is but there is also a story mixed in. Evan has always felt like he was missing a piece of himself. Shortly after his 18th birthday he learns why. Things are confusing for him and he's not sure who's around because they have to be and who's staying because that's really where they want to be.

This books ends on a happy HFN. As much as I wanna know how things turn out, I have way to many challenge books I need to get to right now. Besides, I'm pretty satisified with how things ended here so I think I'll be ok waiting!
