As the adventures continue on Punk Hazard, Luffy decides to strike up an alliance with Trafalgar Law. But can he convince the rest of the Straw Hats to go along with it? And will this new team be formidable enough to take down Caesar Clown?
Eiichiro Oda (尾田栄一郎, Oda Eiichirō) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime One Piece.
As a child, Oda was inspired by Akira Toriyama's works and aspired to become a manga artist. He recalls that his interest in pirates was probably sparked by the popular TV animation series titled Vicky the Viking. He submitted a character named Pandaman for Yudetamago's classic wrestling manga Kinnikuman. Pandaman was not only used in a chapter of the manga but would later return as a recurring cameo character in Oda's own works.

Law and Luffy make an alliance and they battle Caesar until we see his true power and that he wont go down easily, meanwhile in other Place Zoro and all give Kine'mon his whole body back, Nami and Usopp have to deal with these children who have grown desperate for Candy and the slime monster is coming and we see Caesar capture others and turn this slime/smiley monster into some purple thing that freezes or kills others and its covering the entire island and some amazing revelations and characters like Vergo and then the coming together of everyone, breaking out, together they make plans for one final fight vs Ceasar and rescue the childrens! Its epic the way its done and some parts do feel dragged out but overall its really good! The art is freaking insane and especially the detailing of Luffy and Caesar's fight is just wow! The endgame is here and its gonna be epic!
So many things happened in Punk Hazard when Straw Hat Pirates separate. Luffy and Law make alliance to take down somebody, I think? Also to defeat Caesar Clown who owns the place with his strange yet horrible experiment towards the children. Smoker also has another plan regarding the strange events in Punk Hazard and led him into more questions. It seems the Navy already corrupt by certain people. This story is more exciting than Fish-man Island because some interesting people who will make connection somehow in the future. So looking forward to know more about Law and Kinnemon the Samurai. P.s. the child could transform into a dragon like in Dragonball manga. ROFL!
Just because you've been training for two years you shouldn't get too cocky - Zoro makes it clear here. Both him and Luffy got in trouble despite being able to still overpower everybody.
It won't happen again. Because they learned their lesson, because the subsequent foes are strong enough on their own that they won't need to bother being tricky, or because Oda decided to not use this plot point again?
Anyway, Punk Hazard's still pretty cluttered, but things are picking up plot-wise. We're done with intros and can take the arc to a high gear. New characters introduced, alliances made, weapons of mass destruction pouring in, and the greatest extended saga begins to rumble as it approaches.
Something I've noticed more and more is the action is kinda` hard to follow in One Piece. At least where people are on the scale of things. I think it's more noticeable for some reason. A person will appear and I I literally have no clue where they are. How can I not be spatially aware in a manga format? That’s the point. Maybe I’m missing something, or I focused too much on the reading. Or it’s simply not to my tastes.
Either way, I can’t really get hyped on One Piece. Lately I tend to notice the flaws. I watched the Netflix series not long ago and that’s really what kicked me back in. I do enjoy it, I just don’t love it. I’ll stop repeating these sentiments as I think I’m getting my point through.
I will say it looks like we are laying the groundwork for better things. Before Marineford there was that prison arc, arguably the worst bit of One Piece, and most people look on Marineford as being one of the best moments.
I do believe One Piece is overrated. I can understand why everyone loves it, in the same way people think DBZ is overrated, I eat it ALL up. I find One Piece is great on small scale stories and telling it through an arc, when it comes to overarching plot in its entirety One Piece leaves a lot to be desired. The smaller parts do make an interesting whole. For me, when I don’t connect or care for these smaller parts of the gestalt I tend to lose interest in the whole thing, even the past which I arguably enjoyed.
The deeper I get into One Piece, the more convoluted it gets and if there’s a gap in time in my readings between volumes it does take me a bit to remember all the various storylines that Oda Sensei set up. That was the case here in this Volume but thankfully after a chapter or two I managed to acclimatize (it helped that Oda made the Straw Hat’s body swaps a little easier to remember this volume). Caesar Clown is a pretty reprehensible villain and Oda did a good job with this volume being what I assume to be a middle point of the Punk Hazard arc with Caesar getting one over on the Straw Hats and unleashing his weapon of mass destruction. Even Law couldn’t seemingly help for a bit, but I appreciated that our mystery man Vergo was able to take Law down for a bit as I personally think the previous volumes made Law a bit OP. Some of the action and storyline is hard to follow this volume but there was quality fights spread throughout. The art is pretty stellar even if it can be disorienting at times.
All in all this volume ranged from fine to good and it sets up what hopefully will be a satisfying climax.
I LOVE IT!! First of all : the shamble of Tashigi and Smoker's personalities is genius. Secondly it's really fun to see Trafalgar realizing that he had NOT THOUGHT THIS OUT WELL ENOUGH!!! WHAT IS HAPPENING??? And then trying to keep the crew on track. I love it. Plus we get glimpses of other people around the world and some idea about what this big arc will be about. This is great!
4 years ago, Caesar Clown's experiment have failed. Punk Hazard becomes uninhabitated as the poison gas spread to the entire island. He was expelled from World Government. He comes back to Punk Hazard to do a secret experiment as the island cannot be traced by log pose. From the poison gas and chemical substances, he created a monster, Smiley, who ate Sala Sala no Mi Model: Axolotl. Caesar planned to turn Smiley into mass slaughter weapon called Shinokuni. He will sell it in the black market.
Caesar Clown can control oxygen gas so he can suffocated his enemy. Luffy, Robin, Franky, Law, Smoker, Tashigi and other Marines easily defeated by him. Vice Admiral Vergo is Caesar Clown's accomplices. He will cover up all the crime. He also worked for Joker, a black market broker or also known as Donquixote Doflamingo.
Luffy, Law and Smoker join forces to take down Caesar, save the children and escape from Punk Hazard.
PUNK HAZARD ARC - PART 2 1. i love that luffy and his crew come packaged together in any kind of deal and any kind of collab and alliance. there's no separation. god, i love this crew
2. if i was in the one piece world and i had kids, i would make vivre cards of them
3. don quixote doflamingo is joker, and traffy used to work for him, and vergo is also working for him while also pretending to be a navy officer, got it.
law should've known the t&c before asking for the alliance to luffy lmao he's the one who will get steered instead sjdjsjsj and he has to babysit luffy (and his crews)
