Stone Riders MC #2

Where We Belong

Rate this book
They call him the Wolf.

His club, his brothers, and even my best friend Callie.

I didn’t really care what they called him, not when the only name I had ever called him was, coward.

Because three months ago he snuck under my resilient heart, like the thief he is, and stole it.

Then he broke it.

Going home wasn’t an option, not when I promised Callie I’d stay. She swore I’d eventually feel like I belonged in this small town.

The club ensured I had a job, and a place to live which reluctantly earned my loyalty.

Until I discovered their little caveat.

The apartment technically belonged to the new president.

I was welcome to stay…as long as I understood it meant sharing.

And my new roommate?

The very man who turned avoidance into an Olympic sport.

I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS SERIES.

I loved Killian so much and getting to know his backstory and why he was so resistant to being with Laura. Their tension and chemistry was everything and I just couldn't get enough of them. I love this MC world and the suspense we have sprinkled in, so we never now how the characters are going to get out of situations and the danger lurking behind each corner. And Ashley knows how to set up for the next couple and I am DYING for book three now!!!!

If you love motorcycle romances with lots of angst, pick up this series!!!

What do you want from me, Killian?” His glare softened the smallest bit before hardening again. “I want you to stop being a complication. You’re a flicker in my peripheral vision, a glare, a goddamn floater that corrective lenses would fix. I want to erase you.”
Killian stepped closer. “But… I also want to wrap your soul around mine, feel the beat of your heart in my neck as I breathe, and carry you with me everywhere I go, all at the same fucking time.”

It's been a hot minute since I read a book by Ashley and I have no idea why. But I know that I'll be binging on her backlist immediately. Especially since I did myself a bit of a disservice by reading this book first. There is a lot of overflow from the first book in this series. And while it's still an easy standalone read, you can clearly tell it would be an even better one if you read in order. So don't be like me and read Where We Started first.

Now if you know me, then you know that I like my heroes mean...and I mean MEAN. Like I need him to hurt all the feelings before he makes everything right, ok? And Killian. This man was the perfect combination of mean and a heart of gold. You don't know if you want to hug him or punch him but I absolutely fell in love with him.
You don’t care.” He stepped closer, so close my back was pinned to the truck. “I care about every eye that lands on you. Every breath that’s inhaled your scent. Every smile given to you, every hand that’s ever touched you. I care, Daisy. Too fucking much if we’re being honest.”

Killian always knew he can have only one love and focus, his club. Laura is a distraction he doesn't need and he doesn't shy away from reminding her of the fact. But Laura also doesn't shy away from giving as good as she gets. The chemistry between these two was everything. I couldn't get enough of them.
I craved his destruction, the devastation I knew he promised. I had some sick and twisted desire to hurt.

I loved their antagonism and back and forth almost as much as I loved when they gave into the inevitable. I spent my time equally wanting to throttle Killian and wanting to hump his leg. The man is sex personified but there are so many layers to him that makes him own all your attention. Every time you peel back a layer, he gets further and further under your skin and I loved having him there.

Laura was a great heroine and the perfect balance to Killian's intensity. There was just enough grit to this MC romance that made it for one delicious page turner without getting too dark and I enjoyed every page of it. I'm hooked on this series and already salivating for the next book.

Where We Belong is the second book in the Stone Riders MC series! I loved the first book in the series (Where We Started), couldn’t wait for this next book…and it absolutely delivered!

Laura and Killian were everything and I loved the chemistry between them! Laura moved to Rose Ridge in book 1 to be closer to her best friend Callie (the heroine of the first book). She met Killian in that book and they definitely seemed to ruffle each other’s feathers from the start. In this story we see moments with them in present-day, as well as 3 months prior when they first met. Killian is the new prez of the MC and has a lot on his shoulders. And his being constantly pulled to Laura is the last thing he needs. Plus she’s the Senator’s daughter and realllly shouldn’t be the one for him. He also has never wanted to get close to anyone, to have any weaknesses in his life, and definitely tries to push her away.

I couldn’t get enough of Killian and Laura together. Seeing these two and how perfect they were for one another is everything! The hateful banter, the chemistry, the possessiveness, the caretaking, the jealousy (from both of them), the obsession, him calling her “Daisy”, Truth or Dare, the pebble, Cinderella-blue eyes, the tattoos! I love a dark, broody hero who tries to fight his feelings for her and Killian was all of that and then some! I just love this series, it’s MC but a little on the lighter side, and the characters are all so good!

“I want you to stop being a complication. You’re a flicker in my peripheral vision, a glare, a goddamn floater that corrective lenses would fix. I want to erase you. But…I also want to wrap your soul around mine, feel the beat of your heart in my neck as I breathe, and carry you with me everywhere I go, all at the same fucking time.”

After reading the first book in this series, I was so curious about Killian and couldn’t wait to read his story with Laura. I liked this one, but there was a lot of push and pull and the timelines through me off. The next book seems like it’s going to be messy in a good way and I’m here for it!

Me gustó mucho.

DNF at 65% (skimmed the rest)

I’m kind of bummed this wasn’t as good as the first book. I had a hard time relating to the characters. Killian was way too hot and cold for me. I also couldn’t take how much of an asshole he was to Laura. Maybe some readers are into that, but it didn’t work for me personally. I felt like he hurt her feelings more than he showed how much he cared for her. Meanwhile, Laura was such a boring FMC. I hated reading her POV because it was so unfeeling. She was just there and sort of forgettable.

The author continues to use dual timeline, but it was very unnecessary this time around and it didn’t add anything to the story. The flashbacks weren’t even consistent. We would jump between things that happened three months ago and then things that happened when Killian was 17 years old and it just made me confused.

The back and forth between Laura and Killian also got annoying after about chapter ten. They didn’t have any chemistry and they would constantly just hook up. There was no depth or meaningful connection between these two characters.

All in all, this didn’t have the same spark that made me fall in love with the first book in the series. I’m not even sure I’ll read the next one since I hate the pregnancy trope…

I’m really enjoying this series. Laura and Killian delivered on the tension, chemistry and steam. But what I really liked about this story and series are the characters and their interactions. I’m invested in all of them. Where We Belong can be read as a standalone but I recommend starting with book 1 because of the characters and the storyline.

The balance between the love story and biker business was just right but the main focus was on the main couple and also setting up the next book which I’m really excited to read.

Another fabulous and entertaining story in the Stone Riders series. The wolf and his Daisy delivered.

This book was everything I wanted it to be and sooo much more. There was SOOO much angst. Lord the angst. It nearly killed me. There was the buildup, the crash and then NO third act breakup. This is an enemies to lovers, bad boy with a strong FMC, small town biker romance. This book picks up right where we left off and more.

Killian met Laura when his childhood friend, Callie, came home. He didn't know what to think about this creature who looked like a cartoon and somehow got under his skin. He didn't want to be curious about what she was but he also couldn't help himself. He let her in ever so slightly and then she was gone. Back home to DC where he life was. But part of him, despite pushing her away, wanted her to come back. Part of him wanted to know what life could be like for him with her. Of course he would never tell her that.

Laura doesn't know what to think about the whirlwind that is Killian. He is beautiful. He is strong and a king among his crew but she also sees glimpses of the man underneath. The man who wears his armor like a second skin to protect himself. The man who makes her wonder if things could happen between them. Big things. Longtime things but every time she gets closer, he pushes her away. She doesn't know what to think anymore but she has learned to not expect more. So she leaves she goes back home but then she gets a message from the man himself. A message that is vulnerable and makes her decide to move to Rose Ridge.

Now she is here and he is avoiding her. After sending her what he sent he won't give her the time of day. So she does what any woman would do she ignores him to. She tries to work, and she looks for a place to stay because if you forgot Wes set her up as Killian's roommate in his new president house. Now he is sending her all kinds of mixed signals. He wants to protect her, but he doesn't want to admit anything else. He wants to touch her but nothing else. He wants to kiss her but he doesn't kiss. He wants her body but he doesn't want more. She really does try to protect her heart but then she realizes it is already gone.

This book was HOT! The tension could be cut with a knife. I liked the dual POVs. I liked the different timelines- we got flashbacks of when they first met to see how they got to where they are. Killian while being an a** could flip a switch and say the sweetest things. He is clearly a sweet man who has led a hard life. He puts on a front but really protects the people he loves with allll that he is. And Laura coming out strong. She proved herself to be worthy of the club by how she showed up for everyone and put other people ahead of her. We got a lot more characters this time- more Natty and Silas and then Jameson and Penelope from Chaos Kings. I thought book 3 would be Natty but it is going to be Jamie and Penny. And MAN after that epilogue I can't wait to see where it goes. If you haven't already started this series I highly recommend you do so. I read this in one sitting!!

Thank you so much to Ashley and her team for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review :)

"Feel free to ruin me anytime you want, Daisy."

Where We Belong is book two in the Stone Riders MC series. If you're anything like me, you've been anticipating this story since reading Where We Started. And I'm here to tell you it did not disappoint!

You meet Laura and Killian in book one of this series. There, Killian is the VP of the Stone Riders MC. Laura is new to Rose Ridge, having followed her best friend Callie who has a connection to the club. And from the beginning you got glimpses of something stirring between these two. But we finally learn what all happened during those glimpses and what's going on now with a past/present timeline. And it's a story filled with enemies banter, tension and chemistry, as well as a little action and suspense.

The author lays the foundation of the story, and then unravels the pieces as you read through. Which kept me turning the pages. Though both characters have personalities that will keep you invested as well. Think possession, jealousy, obsession. Along with some mean words. But that all turns into some spicy heat and swoon eventually, when walls come down. I like how the author has built up this crew of great characters that only leaves you wanting more stories. That epilogue though!!! I already can't wait for the next story!!

This book is hands down my all time FAVORITE book I've ever read of Ashleys! I've read so many of her books and just loved every single one but THIS one...this one hit different! I love this series SO much and each book just keeps getting better and better!

The way that I opened my kindle and just got LOST in this world. I felt every emotion there is and I didn't want to leave! I was SO sad when this book was over. I just obsessively tapped my kindle trying to get to the next page because SURELY it wasn't over! ;)

All of my stars go to Ashley today! This is your best book yet and I am SO happy for you. I cannot wait to see where you take us next with Penelope! Thank you for always trusting me with your babies just a little bit early and letting me love them!

I don't know man....this one just didn't worked out for me. I just really didn't felt the love between them. The past and present was also somehow not working for me in this book. I just didn't felt the connection between them and issues also seemed like stupid. While i loved the previous book, this one just kinda failed in grabbing my attention and making me feel anything other than annoyance. I llllooovvveeddd KILLLIAN and LAURA but the storytelling of this somehow ruined it for me. 😫😫

WHAT. IS. IN. THESE. BOOKS?!?!? Is it crack? I think it’s crack.

Killian and Laura.
The tension.
The banter.
The burn.
The way that they’re mean to each other.
Fuuuuhk me upppppp! So good.
Once again, I laughed and cried.
Kicked my damn feet.
Squealed like a weirdo.
This was perfection! Laura is my spirit animal. That sassy b is everything! Killian is obviously MC, tortured soul perfection. I could write a damn book about this man alone. I loved him so much!!!! Killian Quinn, marry me.

This fcking book!!!!
This series!
I’m like a fiend trying to get my next hit.
I need book 3.

Their story, the spice, the twists and turns. I’m sorry, but I might’ve loved this more than book 1…. Maybe. Possibly.
I can’t stop thinking about these books. I want to live IN this series!

✨ This book picks up right after the ending of Where We Started. You meet Killian and Laura in book one of the Stone Riders MC series. You got glimpses of something stirring between these two and we finally know what happened. The story is told in a past/present timeline with a dual POV and I loved that! Killian and Laura delivered so much chemistry, angst and tension.

✨ Killian ‘The Wolf’ Quinn, oh, what a man. He always knew he could only have one love and focus and that was his club.. he was raised to become the president of the Stone Riders MC, it’s what he has always dreamed of and since becoming the new Prez, he has no time for any distractions but he can’t help the way Laura makes him feel with her Cinderella blue eyes.

✨ Laura riles Killian like no other. Three months ago, Laura was temporarily in town. Laura was driven away but, she’s back and there is no denying the chemistry between her and Killian, he is so focused on his club while being obsessively protective over Laura. His reluctance to let her in breaks her heart. He is a stubborn a$$hole, but such a softie underneath his tough exterior and Laura is stubborn, yet fierce, just what Killian needs. When these two both give in, it is intense, swoony, angsty and all-consuming. They are such a great match, such a power couple, I love these two!

I loved it so much I can’t even put into words. The banter, chemistry, the possessiveness, the absolute obsession, him calling her "Daisy", the pebble, Cinderella-blue eyes, the tattoos! We love a dark broody man who tries to fight feelings for her and man did he!!

I'm never getting over this book. Killian is perfect.

These two may have started as enemies, but WOW was their story a wild one.

Killian is the new president of the Stone Riders and Laura moved to town to be closer to her best friend, Callie. Let's just say it was a little bit of a rough start for these two. Laura moved into the presidents house because she had no where to live and Killian avoided it for months. Now, they can't avoid each other and their feelings any longer.

This book was a mix of sweet and spicy. There was angst, danger, love, heartbreak, pain and so much more. Laura is a queen and no one can tell me otherwise. Ashley brought these two to life and I'll never be able to say enough good things.

tropes:
✨MC president x senators daughter
✨enemies to lovers

The second book in the Stone Riders MC series, this is an angsty and emotional enemies-to-lovers romance that follows on from the fabulous Where We Started. Set within the world of a 1% motorcycle club – though definitely not as dark as some MC books I’ve read – I was sucked right into this story, and I loved this one!

Killian and Laura’s story was hinted at in the first book of the series. This book picks up where the last one left off, and there’s quite a bit of backstory for this couple and the club, as well as huge spoilers for the events of the first book, so please make sure you read these books in order. And beware this review does have some spoilers for the first book in the series.

Killian was raised to be the President of the Stone Raiders, and he’s finally stepped into the role. It’s what he’s always dreamed of, and he’s determined not to let anything distract him – especially not a fiery blonde who riles him like no other. Laura is the best friend of Callie (heroine of Where We Started and pseudo-sister to Killian). Three months ago, Killian and Laura shared some profound moments while she temporarily was in town. Now, she’s back, working at the MC and living in the apartment that is meant to belong to the President, and she’s stuck in a weird situation with Killian, who is giving off some very mixed messages.

The situation between these two is a hot mess. The history of what went down between them in the past, and what drove Laura away, is revealed slowly throughout the book, so we spend a lot of time watching their back and forth and wondering what the hell happened and why they’re so chaotic.

Fuck, I hated how we always seemed to fall into this role right here. I would be a prick, she would fight back, I’d get hard and want her to lower her walls, but she’d just throw up a middle finger, and we’d be in a fight. I’d never met anyone like her.

There’s no denying the chemistry between them. They obviously want each other badly, and the lusty vibes are strong! There are also definitely strong feelings there, but Killian keeps his distance, determined to focus on his club, while at the same time being obsessively protective over Laura (serious “touch her and die” vibes), and his reluctance to let her in breaks her heart over and over. It’s angsty, but I could understand where both of them were coming from, and my heart ached for both of them.

“I’m not afraid of falling, Daisy. I’m afraid of who I’ll become if I lose that part of myself to you. Because it’s all or nothing. I’d keep nothing of myself for me. You’d own it all.”

With all of this stubborn assholery, Killian is a softie underneath. He obviously cares deeply for Laura, and we see that caring side of him over and over again in beautiful little moments and impassioned declarations that had the romance lover in me swooning.

“I want you to stop being a complication … But…I also want to wrap your soul around mine, feel the beat of your heart in my neck as I breathe, and carry you with me everyone I go, all at the same fucking time.”

Their situation grows even more tense when Killian decides to take rightful ownership of the club’s apartment where Callie is staying, and they become roommates. It puts them all up in each other’s space, and sparks fly as they are forced to confront everything that’s happening between them, and oh holy hell, it’s so freaking hot! Killian is a dirty talker and a little bit kinky, and the sexy time is off the charts steamy. And with them finally giving in to it all, the romance that develops between them is so, so gorgeous. It’s intense and all-consuming, and surprisingly swoony, and they are such a great match. Laura is fierce, brave and stubborn, just the type of woman that Killian needs. And in return, he gives her the love, peace and sense of home that she’s never experienced. They are a power couple in all the ways, and I loved seeing them together.

“You’re mine now, beautiful thing. All mine. I’ll share you with the sun, your parents, and I guess the audience you sing to, but that’s it.”

“You belong and forever will be in here.” He moved my hand over his heart. “No matter where we go or what we do. You’re it for me.”

In the meantime, trouble is brewing for the MC. The townsfolk have decided they don’t want the club in their town, and are doing what they can to push them out, rival MCs are starting to make big threats, and there are dangers brewing closer to home for Killian and Laura. There’s a lot going on and all of the different elements of the story are balanced nicely, bringing depth to the world and the characters, leading in to more books going forward. I cannot wait to explore those stories!

I really enjoyed this book. It’s dramatic, emotional and sexy, with great characters, all set within an exciting and rapidly developing world.

It was hard fought for, and an angsty rollercoaster, but Killian and Laura’s love story is absolutely gorgeous, and I revelled in the intensity of it all.

I loved it - 4.5 stars!

Welp. This series kind of sucked me in. Oops. I won’t lie: Killian is an ASSHOLE. Like I wanted to whack him over the head with an IV pole for the first half of the book. But once we really got inside his fears and concerns about being the club prez and having an old lady, I was on board. (I do love a good asshole MC though so do with that what you will.) This wasn’t so much angsty like the first one as it is two people that can’t seem to get it right and keep miscommunicating. Or better yet, they don’t know how to communicate. That’s better. I liked that Laura wasn’t a pushover and gave as good as she got (though I do wish she had hauled off and flicked Killian on the forehead and told him to stop being the world’s most mixed signal sending man). But I just really like this series! I like that it’s kind of…MC lite? There’s deffo violence and misogyny and the men can be real jerks. But it’s got kind of a sweeter/mellower feel while still having that kick of danger and bad boyness that I enjoy.

I think Muñoz sets up the rest of the series couples well without making them the star of the show (preciate that). And while I wished these two would talk more, it wouldn’t be an angsty mess if they were emotionally healthy, now would it. I don’t want emotionally aware MC romance, thanks. I’ll take it with a heavy dash of toxicity and a little bit of J/P/OTT dudes being buttheads.

The ending/climax was a little rushed and I kind of felt like it was a similar ending to book one but I wasn’t super bothered by it. Just a little left field is all! On to book 3!

“"Your eyes..." He panted. "They're Cinderella blue. The unreal kind that baits princes into giving up their crowns and tossing kingdoms on their head, looking for a goddamned shoe. That dude was fucked the second he saw her, and I never understood it. Not until now."”

🤯 wow Killian, didn’t know you were gonna make me hate you then love you like that!!

So this is book two in the Stone Riders MC series, and I do recommend you read book one first, so that you can understand the dynamics and where this story takes place, since it picks up right where book one ends and also dives into some events that happened in book one as well.

This was so effing good! I was thoroughly enraptured and had to just keep turning the pages to get to the end and figure where everything was going and how they found their HEA. I really enjoyed their love story, and loved the flashes back and forth, I think it just made everything that much better once you got the background on some things that happened.

Killian, you’d never know that that man has a heart made of gold, but underneath all of his layers it’s there and it beats for one woman only, and it’s Laura. 🥹 The man will literally 😵 anyone who touches her or even speaks badly about her. He’s obsessed. I do wish they communicated a little better, but I think that was kind of part of the edge, that they didn’t really know how to really talk to each other.

I loved this book and love this series. Highly recommend this series if you’re looking for a small town MC romance!

I am SO excited for the next book, and I am deceased over that epilogue teaser for it!!!

This is honestly my favourite MC era to be in. The love I have for this book and these characters is bigger than any words I could write here. Ashley yet again delivered one beautiful, emotional and raw story, and I devoured it in one sitting.

Killian and Laura met three months ago when she came to Rose Ridge with her best friend, Callie (we meet her in Where We Started) to support her while she was dealing with some personal matters. Both Killian and Laura get instantly intrigued by each other. But Killian's priority is the club, and there's no time to get distracted by the stunning blue-eyed blonde who makes his heart beat just a tiny bit faster.

I was so looking forward to meet Killian, aka The Wolf, but I don't think I was fully prepared to get to know his story. This man... My heart broke for him and I wanted to protect him and shield him from everything he's been through. Right from the start my mind was racing and all I could think was "I love this man." to "He's so mean!" and back to "I love this man!".
Despite what he portrays to the world, this man has one big and kind heart, and all he wants is to protect and keep safe those he cares about.

Laura is such powerful FMC! She's incredibly strong and she doesn't take any bs from anyone. The way this woman handles dangerous situations deserves all the praise. But then deep down Laura is vulnerable and holds her own share of insecurities and fears. She feels so real, and I love her even more for it.

Killian and Laura are just perfect together. The way these two complement each other and just make sense is *chef's kiss*.
The Wolf keeps his heart and feelings guarded and he doesn't let anyone in easily. But Laura is the one woman who is able to dismantle his walls one layer at a time, and he realises that she's IT for him. It's her and only her.
Their connection goes beyond the physical. It's showing their true selves to each other, allowing themselves being vulnerable together, and knowing that no matter what, they'll face everything that's to come side by side. Together.

They love with all their being. They didn't think this kind of love would happen to them, but they were brave to not give up, to fight for it, to embrace it, and to allow themselves to have their HEA.

Where We Belong is the second book in the Stone Riders MC series. I wasn’t sure about Killian at first, but as the story went on and as his motives and backstory became clear, I understood him. Laura was interesting from the beginning. I loved that I got to see the couple from book 1 as well as the tease for book 2! The overarching plot continued and added conflict to the romance, which worked well. Both had to learn to trust each other!

TW: murder on page, death of a parent, talk of childhood abuse, threats of violence against women, violent acts on page (not by the hero towards the heroine)

After the Easter eggs we got for Killian and Laura in book one I was super intrigued to understand what happened between them while Laura was visiting the Stone Riders that had her running back to DC early. Honestly I was not disappointed. Yes Killian didn’t know how to handle his emotions and therefore was a bit of an asshole ok or a lot , but I love me a grumpy motorcycle club prez asshole hahahaha

The one bed trope was delicious and lead to some hot tension and the set up for the fourth book that started here has me consumed!!!

Literally read this one in a day and I’m on the edge of my seat for the rest of this series🤭

Okay, these two are so cute together. At the beginning of the book, I kept trying to figure out why he was so distant in the present but couldn’t stay away from her in the chapters set three months earlier. But I loved how the story unfolded and everything made sense.

When he texted her to come back to the city and stay, and she came back because of him!!! 🫠

This series!!!!! I love it so freaking much. I think I may have liked this one even more than the first one. We have bad as motorcycle gangs, mystery elements, and the best spice. Laura and my guy Killian 😍❤️ Gah love them so much! Can’t wait to read the next one.

Killian and Laura are so perfect together!
Killian is an absolute softy on the inside but doesn't let anyone see it. Laura is an absolute badass and one of my favorite heroines I've read in a while.
