You know how many times I pushed myself to finish this boom. Alot. I loved books 1 and 2. This one was harder for me to enjoy because I disliked Willa.
I felt willa was a selfish person and acted like I'm a different type of girl. Which annoyed me. Let's start off with the way she at first didn't wanna take over a shop for her uncles. WHO PAID FOR HER TO GO AROUND THE WORLD ON THERE DIME Letting her be far away from the small town. And when she overhears the convo of them wanting to ask her to stay and take over, she runs away and tries to avoid the talk until she finally grows up and says she'll stay and run the shop. She let her brother push her around about her relationship with Hayes. You're a grown ass woman dont let your twin make choices for you.
There is so many eh about willa, which was so sad because Hayes deserved the world. He was head over heels in love with this woman. He did so many things, read romance books to please her because he was a virgin. He helped at the coffee shop, let the brother be a dick to him, and he let it become he loves willa. I hope the next brother gets a good girl.
No ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, drama, sexy times, virgin guy & experience gal

Pre-Read: The Pussycats Next Door??? I really think that’s gonna be title and from the blurb I think it’s gonna be Hayes book. Oh. Em. Gee. I am very excited!!!
—- my guess at the title was nearly spot on.
Review:
All that mattered was this man, this incredible, talented, kindhearted man, and the way he made me feel seen, cherished, wanted. If I was going to get attached to someone in this world, it was Hayes Kingman.
star rating: 3.25 spice rating: 2.75 🌶️🌶️
Hayes = GREEN FLAG WALKING. Willa = The Nomad/ Vagabond
Cinnamon Roll Rookie Football Star Meets World Traveler. THEY. WERE. THE. CUTEST. Their Banter. 100/10. Something about this series just makes me giddy!
So wholesome, yet spicy. Hayes puts into action the power of studying (even when it comes to losing his virginity)
“I tried not to, but somewhere along the way, you made me fall in love with you too. You're the love of my life, Hayes.”
I honestly am not sure what to think…. I just really really did not like this book. Starting with the cringy things that she said…. I’m sorry but “holy cheezits” I cringed so hard. These are supposed to be adults right? Cause from the lack of maturity it didn’t seem like it. Also I’m sorry but did her brother seriously have to meddle and try to control her life that much? And she just let him?? Wild to me
Also the jumping timeframes from chapter to chapter was too much. I felt like there was absolutely no build at all to this relationship. I’m sorry but going from the first date and then the next chapter they are making out at her work? What a jump. I’m not sure this authors style is for me.
Typically, I like the series. Yeah the plot lines are full of holes and super surface level, but the author admits these are fluff, so I expect Insta love and a so-so cute story. This one was just too much for me. Willa out of the gate was that insufferable study abroad girl. We get it you’ve traveled and taught in other countries. Then you have to throw on the fact that she’s the type to go to a sporting event and read a book. She’s not like other girls. There’s also nothing about either characters that make me believe they actually love each other. Then there is this whole drama with Willa’s family that is so small and absolutely silly. OK her twin brother is super jealous of Hayes being drafted before him that he tries to sabotage his sister’s relationship. She also said she had to hide her relationship, but she literally didn’t. Her brother in the coffee shop said it was fine if she wanted to date him. But Willa wanted to sneak around because she thought it was hot, sure whatever. However, they snuck around for less than 24 hours and she’s acting like she had to suppress her feelings for the sake of her brother. Then the whole thing of her brother showing up and guilting her to hang out with him, but it only happens once a week. Why didn’t this author make it like every day? Your brother and parents wanting to see you one day a week isn’t that extreme. You could actually say the fact that Hayes wants you to himself is a little crazy. Then she “blows up“ at her brother and mom on Christmas. Did you see any blowing up? I sure didn’t. Not enough for her dad to step in and be like I’ll fix this. Don’t even get me started on bringing in both families to discuss how they can make their relationship work when she wants to travel and he wants to play football. Declan is dating an international superstar, who is also traveling the world while he’s playing football and they make it work. This book had potential to have higher steaks, while also still being fluff, but she just missed the mark.

- plus size FMC x football player MMC - romcom - fluffy but spicy - kinda friends with benefits ?
I am so so so sorry for the low rating, this was just not it for me :(
I absolutely LOVED the first book. It had me giggling and kicking my feet and on the floor from laughing. This one however? I just didn’t vibe with the characters AT ALL 🥺 I honestly didn’t care about them, why? I DONT KNOW 😭
The insta love thing is just not my cup of tea. I felt as if there wasn’t any build up between these two characters. Hayes was head over heels in love with Willa, but it came off as if he only wanted to sleep with her? Like I get it. He was a virgin so it was extra new for him and all that, but still.
This is another great book in this series and I cannot wait for another one to come out but that said, knowing that Everett is going to be the next in the series and supposedly knowing the most will fall flat on his face. I think we've all been there at some point just not knowing what to say or what to do.
some things are just meant to stay in the drafts. i wanted to like this one so, so bad. i mean plus sized girly and her hot as sin footballer cinnamon roll neighbor… emotional support kindle girly and streaming gamer boyfriend. it was supposed to be the sweetest romance with all the fluff but instead i cannot get on board with the writing and why is willa so… selfish??? hayes is literally the sweetest man on the planet and here is willa lol.
—first red flag should have been when the author used the word “rizz” on page one (1) please don’t use gen z slang in a romance book tank u
This book may be small, but it’s definitely mighty! I’m so here for the ✅ plus-size FMC representation (shoutout to Amy Award for that!). This romcom had me giggling and kicking my feet the whole time. The Kingsman brothers? They officially have my heart, and I can't wait to get my hands on Everett's story next.
Hayes is the ultimate green flag book boyfriend—like, how is someone that inexperienced so good at knowing what to do?! and also willing to put in the work and study. The series nails the found family trope, showing what a loving family should be like. And Willa, you’re such a badass for putting yourself first and setting boundaries with your toxic family (minus the dad).
This was such an easy, fast read, and it went down like a treat. The only thing that wasn't totally my vibe was how quickly they fell for each other—it’s almost insta-lust, which isn't usually my thing. But seriously, this series always delivers with the funny titles, found family feels, and all the fluff.
After book 2 I wondered if it could get any better but Amy surprised me all over again. The Kingsman brothers are stealing my heart one by one. Hayes really is a walking green flag, it's so nice to read about the good guys for a change too. Also continue to really love the FMC in these books are curvy. And hello a boy who reads spicy books to be good for her between the sheets?! I love how their relationship developed and how they are willing to give up everything for each other for their love. If you are looking for a book series with green flag book boyfriends, tough female characters and spice. Go read this!
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Hayes has always been a rule follower, dedicated to only football. Willa is a world traveler and a free spirit. They can’t help their attraction, but know their connection is temporary at best.
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: The Cocky Kingmans series has been a comfort read this year, for sure. The third book in the series left me wishing for more, even though I truly liked the first two books.
This series has been a bunch of suspending disbelief, but this book specifically was almost too much of that. Everything felt a little forced - and both characters just didn’t inspire fiery passion in me.
I will say, I love a no-drama romance, and this was a cute one. The spice was pretty epic, too. Definitely moving on to the fourth in the series to see my next Kingman brother find love.
4 books in (this being book 3 in the Cocky Kingman series)and I am head over heels for this series!!! I cannot get enough and I’m seriously trying pace myself because there’s only one other book out right now and I just found the series this month! I don’t know that I can wait for the next one!!!
I love that we continue to get to know the brothers and the family throughout each book. There’s always an animal aspect and so much positivity regarding relationships and bodies. I adored Hayes and Willa’s story and how they learn from and support one another!
Just thrilled to have had stumbled upon a body and sex positive series that has me laughing out loud and wanting to be part of family game night!
OMG OMG OMG! The first chapter of this book had me wanting to keep on reading. I admit, I am a little obsessed with these books because of my love of football players and of course I am a curvy girl. These books are like my fantasies when I was in high school lol. Amy's writing leaves me feeling light and good about myself (and of course I love the spice).
I read this book at the perfect time as I am just getting into Star Trek and I love all the little references to the Star Trek universe. And the love story between Hayes and Willa is just so cute. I love that it is a bit unique and that Amy creates characters that aren't typical.
I highly recommend this book for those who love a light hearted romance with a decent amount of spice (and if you love cute animals with punny names).
Thank you to LoveNotes PR for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
It's been a whole week since I've read TPND and I'm still not ok. The book hangover is huge. I cannot contain how much I love this book and this series by Amy Award.
Can we start with the cover, please?! I want to frame prints of these covers around my house. Leni Kauffman is an absolute brilliant genius. The image of these gorgeous, obviously desired, plus size women gives me the freedom to view my body in a positive light. That I am worthy of love and desire and all that. They're just stunning.
Now on to the content - This book made me emotional as all heck but not because of the plot. Because I have never, in my 30+ years of reading romance, connected more with a main character as much as I did Willa. I adored her, loved her and had a visceral reaction to all her emotions. Had Amy met me? Did she know me in another life (where mine was the same, at least lol)? How had Willa stolen my thoughts and feelings when it comes to self, family, the outside world?
And Hayes? Good lord, someone find me a Hayes (sorry to my current partner!). Are you familiar with Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds? He kind of gives me that adorkable, lovable genius vibe (though Hayes is much more athletic than Spencer was lol). And to have that kind of genius and focus centered on you? That must be intoxicating and completely irresistible.
And the spice?! Yes, yes, yes please. All that focus and studiousness set to learning about pleasure and specifically pleasuring you/me/Willa? That's a whole lot of heckkkkin' yes.
Thank you, Amy, for the opportunity to read this ARC and thank you to Love Notes PR.
3-3.5 stars. I really enjoy how cute and light this series is. I loved Hayes immediately, 11/10 no notes. It took me longer to warm up to Willa, but that's because I come from a large loving family and had some side eye for her basically running away from everything at first, until we actually met them and they sucked. Once I understood their dynamics better, I could understand Willa and was kicking my feet over how cute her and Hayes were.
This was a 4 star read until the "conflict" at the end. I kept forgetting that they're 22 years old, and I was annoyed at the all or nothing way they were handling the question of how to be together. Only at 22 are you that convinced you need to have everything figured out, your career, your relationship, as if nothing will ever change again in life so you have to lock in the right choices. The solution was a good one, but getting there was the kind of dramatics that only young adults can achieve.
Again I had the pleasure of reading the ARC and it was such a privilege!
I love the beautiful positive representation in these books. The mmc is so sweet and clever and awkward, adorable and a total green flag. The fmc was so relatable, the most relatable fmc I’ve ever read, it almost felt personal. As always lots of fun, cosy romance with no toxic behaviours / relationship. As always the perfect amount of spice which was definitely spicing.
The p*ssy next door -ouuu the girl next door -Amy’s writing truly hits everytime you get thrown into the story -I’m already falling for this man and I’m in chapter one -he’s so awkward with her he’s so cute omg -this man oufff in loveeee 🥹 -i need a man to talk about me the way he does -the spice is spicingggg ouffff -i love them so much they are too cuteeee -i ate up this book and now I want to go to a cat cafe Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I seriously cannot get enough of the Kingman brothers and I love Hayes so freaking much. I mean a walking green flag of a man who studies spicy romance books to be great in bed?? Sign me up! Hayes was the absolute sweetest and so nerdy and I love him. Willa was so unapologetically herself I loved that about her too. I love how their relationship grew and how they were both there for each other when they needed it. I also appreciated how neither of them was willing to let the other sacrifice what they loved to be together and how they found a way to make it work! Another great read by Amy and I can’t wait for more Kingmans!
okay THIS was the book for me (out of this series)!!
- Plus size FMC - Wanderer x football player - big supportive meddling family - healthy AND supportive relationships - a bit on the insta-love - walking GREEN flag of a MMC
Honestly I was liking this series enough to keep reading but I was worried that I wasn't going to find the one. You know when you read a series and youa re like THIS is my book, the one I connect to the most, or the one you enjoyed the most and so far BABY YOU ARE THE ONE FOR MEEEEEEEEEEEE.
I loved how shy Hayes was at the beggining and seeing how he came out of his shelf. The dynamics with the siblings is also one of my favorite parts of this series. And willa, well Willa just took the cake for me cause I saw a lot of her in me. I loved how adventoruous she is, how she learn that she doesn't have to apologize for being herself (eventhough it was hard with her family.... and I get it) and how slowly she started to heal that last part of herself through her relationship with Hayes.
BUUUUUUUUT what I am really looking forward to is our Love Guru and him being in love-troubleeeeeeeeeeeeeee hehehehhe
4.5 ⭐️ Did I finish the book in less than 24 hours? Yes. Was the sex amazing? Yes. Was it my favorite in the series. No. And that makes me sad as a cat lady. Especially reading the authors note at the end that she put herself into Willa’s character. Amy Award is amazing. Plain and simple. I was super lucky she donated some special edition signed copies to my recent SPCA fundraiser. I did relate with some of the family vibes on this one. On to the next! I ordered this book and the anaconda downstairs to get them the day they were released and they’ve been sitting on my bookshelf. I’ve been so crazy busy with school and SPCA stuff that my TBR list has been backed up a few months. This weekend broke that slump. 3 books in 3 days.
Hayes Kingman is a walking green flag who has Willa's cat and one of his guncles "in love" with him. ( I loved how Seven and George ask Willa to keep seeing Hayes, each one in his own way, and thanks to Seven we can read the most hilarious way of seeing Hayes naked for the first time) Willa doesn't have the most supportive family so when the Kingman's one adopt her and try to support and help her without her asking, makes me feel that, like George, I want to be part of that family too!! Willa and Hayes are very different but they get to make themselves better because Hayes gives her the need/want to settle down and Willa makes him want to be more adventurous. I'm a cat lady so this book started with more strars just for that but i loved the story and them so much that I can't give less than a 5 star rating.
And I must say that I need Everet and Penelope's story like yesterday.
-I was given an arc and i'm leaving my honest review-
