So, I'm minding my own business at this gaming convention when all of a sudden... ...this hot cosplayer starts climbing all over me. This could get awkward. But when I look into Rebel's eyes, I realize she needs my help. Oh, I’ll do more than pretend to be her boyfriend. Those eyes, those curves — not to mention her wit — have me under their spell. But when the real world turns both our lives upside down, the beautiful Rebel is ripped from my life. When the dust settles, she may continue to think what we had was only a temporary hookup, but I’m in this for the long haul.
Laughter, heartache, happy tears and sprinkling of spice. How Abby Knox manages to pack such a small book with so much is beyond me, but I'm here for it! ❤️
They meet at a convention and Rebel pretends Rhys is her boyfriend to escape a creepy guy. Obviously they connect those 4 days, but life gets in the way on both sides, and she ends up not contacting him.
I enjoyed the gaming aspect of this story as I haven’t read many stories about that. I also liked the characters.
But I feel like so much of the book is that initial 4 days, and then so little is about their reunion 2 years later. I would’ve liked way more about that because it was too fast to be satisfying.
Glad they got their HEA though!
Safety deets: both celibate during separation! No other details really discussed.
We got to meet these two in the first book, which takes place 2 years after they first met, but this book starts when they first met. This was a sweet read that proves that time is everything and sometimes no matter how right it is, it may not be the right time. Everything is meant to happen for a reason, and timing is one of those things.
Rebel is being bothered by a guy at the con she’s at when she sees an orc not paying attention and decides to pretend she’s with him. This orc is our sweet Rhys, who ends up pretending he’s her husband. One passionate kiss later and he’s already extremely smitten with her. They share some great times together, before she has to rush off with a family emergency, and he is left wondering what happened to her. He does reach out to her, but until they see each other again when she comes to find her sister they haven’t seen each other since the con.
There were 2 years they were apart, I’m not really a fan of wasted time, but neither were with other people in this time. They both were still pining for each other, but Rhys was really head over heels, I assume it’s because he’s older and knew without a doubt what he wanted. This was a sweet read, Rhys was so sweet, and my heart went out to him. But good things really do come to those who wait. Equally sweet epilogue and hea.
Can an Orc and tiefling assassin find love and forever
Roll For Damage is the second book in the Love Games series. This story is about Rebel and Rhys. These two met two years ago at a gaming convention and spent several wonderful days together. But then Rebel left without saying goodbye and left Rhys' heart broken and crushed. Their paths cross again when Rebel tracks down her wayward younger sister, Dakota, to a gaming shop in Fate, Kentucky. As it turns out the store is owned by not only Dakota's new boyfriend Dean, but his two best friends, Rhys and Forrest. So with a lot of surprise all the way around Rebel and Rhys try to figure out if they can be together or not. He is determined to not let her get away once, as he did that before and it was a huge mistake. She is more leery because she will be more dependent on him than she likes to be. But in end the big burly Orc will catch and keep his little tiefling assassin, as she takes his heart and soul completely. I really loved this story. I was expecting a different reason for why Rebel left the convention so quickly but it did make sense also. I will say I did shed a couple tears for Rhys about Peggy, as she had helped raise him and you could tell loved him dearly and to the end. I can't wait to read the next book in the series about Forrest and Lore.
This doesn’t feel like an Abby Knox book at all and I’ve been reading them for a long time. It was oddly drawn out, the weird time bits in the middle were just off putting, the vibe was meant to be instalove (I think) but the LAMEST stuff comes between them and takes literal years for them to reunite when both of them have the ability to pretty easily find the other? The chemistry was strange and contrived. I don’t know, I genuinely disliked this book and I have never said that of an Abby Knox book before. And before anyone questions it, my husband and I both are TTRPG-ers, dress up for the local ren faire in full costumes in the fall, and love all things gamer nerdy. It was not the subject or the convention that were off putting, it’s the story, or really lack of one, overall. I gave it two stars because it is still grammatically well edited per a usual Knox work.
The second book in Abby Knox' Love Game series is the fabulous Roll for Damage. After reading the first book, I was eagerly awaiting Rhys and Rebel's (back)story - and I was not disappointed. (And while you don't need to have read Roll for Initiative to enjoy this story, it is just as wonderful, so why not!?) Rhys and Rebel meet at a cosplay gaming convention and instantly hit it off after their hysterically funny and steamy meet-cute. But despite their instalove connection, Fate (pardon the pun) intervenes and it seems as if four days is all they will ever have. But when Rebel goes looking for her sister, she just might find what she thought she was going to have to live without. Steamy, swoon-y and entertaining from beginning to end, Roll for Damage is a must-read age-gap romance.

Book 2 of this series may have been even better than book 1. I am in love with these characters and their stories! It’s three best friends who are opening a board game store in the small town of Fate. This story is about Rhys and Rebel. They meet at a gamers convention and their connection is instant. I enjoyed the build up of getting to know each other combined with a little spice. Life takes a turn for both of them though and they don’t see each other for years but have thought of each other continuously. When they reconnect it is unexpected but beautiful. I loved these two in love and I loved their HEA. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!
Rebel and Rhys have a lot in common which is how they meet at a gaming convention when Rebel subtly asks Rhys to help her ward off some unwanted attention. What neither of them expected was the instant sparks that fly between them. Now with four days in the same hotel they keep finding ways to spend more time together but is unexpectedly cut short when Rebel has to go home. Both of them hope the other stays in contact but their home lives are about to get more complicated.
Somehow fate lends as always to help them find each either once more.
Loved it and cannot wait for Forrest’s story next. This story does overlap with book one in this series but it can also be read as a standalone as well.
I read this book voluntarily for an honest review.
I loved Roll For Damage: an age gap, small town romance Book 2 of Love Games. This is a sweet story. Rebel and Rhys had a fabulous time together at the convention, it was steamy and maybe could have been something. Then she disappeared and her friend told Rhys to let her go. He couldn’t. Rebel didn’t want to let him go but she had things going in and felt he didn’t need to be dragged down. As time passes Rhys can’t forget her. Fate has a funny way of making things work out. It’s a great storyline and I loved the characters. I would definitely recommend this book.

I just adored Rhys and Rebel's meet cute. How Rhys just so easily goes along with the role playing and even upping the ante. Watching them interact over that weekend was great since I already knew they got together from the end of Dean and Dakota's story. But seeing how they got from the Con to the present was pure fun. I read this in one sitting and was shocked when I got to the end, as it felt like I'd just started the story. I was that engrossed in their tale. They are quirky, snarky and just perfect for each other. I totally loved the kissing scene with tusks.

I loved how Rhys met Rebel. Both attending a gamers convention and both are dressed as Orcs. Rebel is being harassed by a creep and Rhys comes to her rescue. They have a wonderful connection but serious issues keep them apart for 2 years. When they reconnect can they get their lives back on track and keep their love alive. Loved this story, fast paced and steamy, great characters and a wonderful happy ever after.

Rhys meets Rebel at a gaming convention and all he wants is spend time with her. She cozies up to him to dissuade another gut leave her alone. They spend time getting cozy and then she is gone.
He misses her and just cannot seem to move on. When she shows up in Fate, he finds out she is the sister of his friend's girl. Is this his second chance to get the girl?
This is sweet story, the pair have such chemistry. Can he find out why she ghosted him?.

I’m not really a fan of gamers, but I’m a HUGE Abby Knox fan, so I tried it. I really thought if anyone could get me to like a book like this, it would be Abby - and I was absolutely, 100% right! This book centered around Rebel and Rhys. They met at a convention and she had to leave unexpectedly. Rhys never got over her so he was thrilled when they met again. This was a sweet, quick read that I totally loved!.

After reading book one I was eager to find out more about Rhys and Rebel, so I was very pleased to be able to read their story in chronological order from when they first met through to events in book one and then beyond. I enjoyed seeing their connection start and grow and seeing how the events from their pasts impacted them. I am looking forward to reading book three next and wouldn't mind reading Dr Daisy's HEA as well.

Rebel and Rhys's story is the second book in the series. They met at a convention when they were dressed up as characters. He came to her rescue and the connection just clicked.
But life and fate play their hands as they run into each other when Rebel finds her sister working in his game story.
Fun and entertaining read that make you smile and warms you heart as they are willing to roll the dice for love.

I adored this quick and easy read. Rebel and Rhys are so perfect together, both love gaming, cosplay and easily fall for each other. There’s some angst, a bit of heartache, some tragic news, family drama and love. I had great fun meeting Dakota’s sister and loved every minute between her and Rhys. Looking forward to seeing how Forrest falls for Lore.

I love how these two meet! So cute that they are dressed in similar costumes at a con. Even cuter is how Rhys steps in when Rebel needs help after a guy starts creeping on her. This kind of meet cute isn't seen a lot, which I love! It appeals to my inner geek something fierce. While they spent a lovely 4 days together, they lose touch. Fortunately, the universe brings them back together. Such a quick, cute read!
If you read Roll For Initiative then you know we met Rhys and Rebel there and in book two we find out so much more about them. I loved the way the author brought them together and how even though it took a couple of years they finally got their happily ever after. Roll For Damage is book two in the Love Games series and I am ready for the next book. The writing is well done and the characters are likable. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Cute short read of just how this couple meets and all that life throws at them. A couple of heartbreaking moments, but I loved Peggy’s wisdom to live in the moment. Enjoyed the whole backstory and how it picks up with the little town of Fate stepping in to help them along.

Very cute, fast-paced romance novella. Since reading the first book in the Love Games series, I've been anxiously awaiting Rebel and Rhys' story. They're just as adorable as you would expect, complete with a meet cute dressed as orcs.

This series is very good, and this second book has a pretty entertaining plot, the story of Rebel and Rhys begins as they first met, but for certain things they had to spend a few years apart, fate had them meet again and have their happiness together. This is an easy story to read, very good reading that you will enjoy.
This is the second book in this series, and this is Rhys and Rebel’s story. This is a good, quick, and easy to read story, with emotions, and love, which leads to an enjoyable, unpredictable, and steamy page turner. Rebel and Rhys met at a gaming conventions two years ago. Due to circumstances they were never able to reconnect and explore the connection between that they both felt. Now they suddenly meet again because of her sister and his best friend. A sweet but steamy stormy with two people who belong together to make each other complete. I received an arc copy of this book.
It was kind of boring. The main characters seemed a bit immature. The illness seemed like it was just thrown in. It wasn’t enjoyable for me and was too far fetched. I’m all for instalove stories But falling for someone in 3 days and after over a year with no contact tattooing them on you is weird
The author has given us a fast-paced older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Rhys and Rebel. The story keeps us turning the pages with connection, health issues, heartbreak and steam.

This book was fun to read. It was passionate, steamy, a little silly, and a lot amazing. The chemistry was hot, and the storyline was great. This is a definite must-read.
Loved it. Nicely written with great characters. Plenty of sweetness. A little time delay works well. Great flow. Easy read. The series just gets better
