In Kev's world, sex with a variety of women was easy. It was love that was impossible.

If you want an action packed and sexy romantic suspense, this is the series you really need to get acquainted with. I've been looking for a long time for something similar to Cindy Gerard's Black Ops series, and I'm so happy I stumbled onto HOT. Each book only gets better and better...and did I mention sexier?

Lucinda "Lucky" San Ramos narrowly escaped death when she was captured by a terrorist during a mission. Left with a daily reminder of her torture not only through her surface scars, but internal ones too, she left active duty and moved to Hawaii...only to lose her husband during a mission 2 years later. Now a widow, she's trying to move on and forget her past life...and everyone in it; including her husband's best friend and current HOT operator, Kevin “Big Mac” MacDonald. Unfortunately her plans change when the man himself shows up at her doorstep telling her she's their only hope to catch a terrorist she long thought was dead.

Mac has always been attracted to Lucky, but he knew he was no good for her, so he pushed her off to his best friend and watched her from afar. Having been the one that rescued her those years ago, he tried to stay in touch with her but she wanted nothing to do with him. Now his orders are to bring her in and convince her to go on a mission that's just as dangerous as the one that once got her captured. But that's not his hardest mission, that would be trying to fight his undeniable attraction to a woman that seems to be completely immune to his Southern good ole' boy charm.
Nipples? That's your proof? I haven't been warm since I landed in this icebox and you think my nipples are hard for any other reason?"
Stop now, dude. Just stop. "Yeah, I do."
She snorted. "We all want you, don't we, Southern boy? You turn up the drawl and we fling our panties at you?" She flicked her fingers at him. "Take your drawl down to the bar and get laid so your brain will be clear again. I'm going back to sleep."

Stuck together on a mission where they pretend to be husband and wife, forces them to confront all those long forgotten feelings; Kev's guilt over wanting his best friend's widow and Lucky's never forgotten feelings to a man that didn't want her those years ago.
...She feared Kev. The way he made her feel. Her emotions were scraped raw in this environment. There was no room for deceit or obfuscation. She feared the way the simplest touch could light her up inside and make her long for so much more. If she'd thought for one moment that a single night with him would ease this longing, she'd been very wrong.

This author has an ability to write a heroine that is endearingly fragile and yet equal parts fierce and strong. I absolutely loved that about Lucky. She survived a horror at the hands of a mad man, and she doesn't hide her fear of this mission. She had this understated strength to her that you just can't help but feel for her.

Miss Harris also does a fantastic job of weaving romance and suspense together effortlessly. It's never out of place or overbalances the other. It's this perfect combination that will have your heart pounding and then leave you panting.

Kev was a great hero as well. He's not perfect and he has his own demons that he fights but he's also sexy and protective all with just that right amount of damaged.
Deep inside he always wondered if his past had damaged him so badly he could never be the kind of man any woman should take a chance on.

Action packed, suspenseful, and sexy, Dangerously Hot was another fantastic addition to the HOT series. The romance, the story, pretty much everything about this book worked for me.

If you're a fan of the genre, this is a book that's not to be missed. While a part of a series, each book can be easily read as a standalone. You do get to meet some of the characters earlier in the series, and usually you'll meet the future hero or heroine in the previous book. But the author does a great job reiterating any necessary information without making it sound redundant to the readers that have already read the previous books.

This is the story of Kevin and Lucky and was well named as it was dangerous and it was definitely hot!

I am not gonna re-hash a very well written synopsis as it does a good job of giving the basics about the story, I am also not gonna give any spoilers/secrets away as you really do need to read it yourself. All I am gonna say is that it is an excellent addition to the HOT series, it is very well written, and has a gritty story line which grabbed my interest right from the start and kept it there right to the end.

If you like hot RS that focuses equally on both the romance and the suspense and you haven’t already grabbed this series then you really need to as it has been receiving fairly high ratings and is well worth a go.

This author sure was clever naming this team HOT, because that is exactly what they are....

I love these freaking books, and if it is at all possible, they just get better and better.

This is the story of Kevin "Big Mac" McDonald and Lucky San Ramos. She is the wife of a former HOT operatives who died on a previous mission. He also happened to be Big Mac's best friend.

Lucky is former Army, not to mention having previously worked with HOT when 2 years ago she was taken by a terrorist and subjected to awful torture at the terrorists hand. Kev was the one who found her, and they shared a rather hot steamy kiss. He realized that he would never be able to give Lucky what she needed so he encouraged his buddy Marco to step up and ask her out. They were later married and Kev had to live every day seeing his best friend married to the one women who got under his skin.

Now its years later, Marco is dead and the terrorist is back. The HOT team need Lucky as she is the only one who will be able to formally ID the terrorist, as no-one has ever lived to tell what he looks like.

Kevin is teamed up with Lucky as her personal 24 hour guard and this is where all the action begins....

This is great 4th novel in this wickedly good series and it is filled with lots of action, drama, angst, and oh did I mention the steamy filled scenes that will not only scorch your panties, but leave you begging for more....

Cant wait till my next fix, in what I will once again declare is one of my all time favorite series...

The sexy, bad-ass, hotter than hot, more kick-ass then 007 and Bruce Willis ever will be men of HOT are back!!

Once again the author has created a masterpiece filled with loads of action, drama, intense passion, guns blazing, car chasing, fight to stay alive, uncovering of secrets and mind-blowing awesomeness.

This time around I finally got behind what exactly the deal with Kevin "Kev" McDonald is and just why he tip toes around the one and only woman he has ever really, truly wanted, and just what exactly will happen once he finally has Lucky in his arms.

Lucky has been minding her own business after being kept prisoner by a madman, who had inflicted more than just emotional torture on her for days on end.

The death of her husband sealed her decision and instead of going back to her old life before the kidnapping she now spends her days surfing and trying not to think of anything that happened, not the death of her husband, not the torture she had to endure, after all the bastard is dead. But the one thing she cannot stop thinking about is Kevin, sweet, kind and considerate Kevin who had rescued her, kissed her senseless and then the ass walked away!

Kevin has just been informed of his latest mission, the terrorist who is responsible for the death of two of HOT's best men and the torture of Lucky is still alive. But no one knows for sure what he looks or sounds like, except Lucky.

He has to find her, convince her to come help find and identify the bastard and then the men of HOT can bring the bastard down once and for all. Easy, right? Well for any of the other guys this would be, but for Kevin this means seeing the only woman he has wants and cannot have, and a range of emotions he simply does not want to face. But an order is a order and he has to carry this out not matter what, and there is no way he will let Lucky get hurt again.

I love the HOT series to bits, the intense action is a thrilling ride and an adventure you will never forget, and this time the author outdid herself! The story of Kevin and Lucky was absolutely spellbinding. It rocked me to my very core, tore open my heart and the author made the magic happen with a ending that healed my torn soul over and over again.

The character of Kevin was as can be expected a bad-ass totally and very dangerously hot man, but his softer more caring side shone through so beautifully it made me wish I could be lucky enough to be his center of attention, even if for just a moment. His personal issues was a huge surprise, as the author only gave me glimpses in the previous reads, and wanting to know just what is up with him made me await this read with more than just eager anticipation. But when the author reveals just what makes Kevin tick, I was shocked and over and over I kept thinking " Man I did NOT see this coming!". Excellent work Lynn!

The character of Lucky was so awesome, I love a good strong and feisty heroine that can go through hell and come back fighting more fiercely than a bat out of hell! I very much enjoyed seeing how she rebuild her strength physically and mentally. And I adored that Kevin is the one to push her at every corner to show her she can and will do whatever is needed to win, she 's a real 'ball-buster' of the very best kind.

There was never a dull moment in this read, it had funny moments, passionate encounters, kick-ass action and a plot so superb it will never fade from your mind. And what makes it even more amazing is the level of brilliance used by the author when she takes you deep into the heart of the action and the emotions of the characters, I CAN'T wait for the next HOT hero to make his story known.

I highly recommend this read for all fans of amazing romantic suspense reads, I am totally lying, I recommend the entire series for everyone, it is so good you will just like myself be hanging onto every word, every piece of action, every drop of adrenalin and begging to be trapped in a world of pure writing excellence!

Dangerously Hot is a searingly HOT and suspenseful read

Dangerously Hot, book four in Lynn Raye Harris’ Hostile Operations Team series, hit all the right marks for me. I loved the second-chance story former HOT team member Lucky San Ramos and current team member Kevin “Big Mac” MacDonald.

I’d been curious about Lucky for a while (she’d been mentioned and made a brief appearance in earlier stories) and, well, Kevin is HOT. (Yes, the HOT acronym for this series might do double duty to describe these alpha bad boy team members.) I cried a bit with Lucky as she recalled why she married Marco upon Kevin’s desertion (As only she calls him Kevin, hope he doesn’t mind me taking that same liberty.) From the moment she’s recalled under duress to the HOT Team from surfing in Hawaii in order to search out her former captor and most-wanted terrorist, I was hooked.

I really liked how Harris portrayed Kevin and Lucky. How their mutual wariness was transcended - bit by bit. And I really liked the fact that Kevin never could figure out why Lucky didn’t fall for him years ago, like all the other women who ran through his revolving relationship door.

Harris really shows how each of these characters really matured and grew, finally ready to perhaps explore a new dynamic now. With the assignment of Lucky and Kevin undercover as husband and wife, it’s not a stretch to see that turning into something more. But along with the relationship, Harris also provides a fast-paced, engrossing plot that made me burn through those Kindle pages, without stopping. I highly recommend both this book and the HOT series.

This is the first I've read from the HOT series, but it will not be the last! Kev and Lucy's story definitely lives up to its name.

Dangerously Hot is almost a reunion story. Kev and Lucky shared one scorching kiss when he saved her from a terrorist years ago, but then he pushed her away, convinced he couldn't give her what she needed. She married his friend and HOT teammate Marco, and the two went on with their separate lives. Then Marco is killed in action and the terrorist everyone thought was dead resurfaces, putting Kev and Lucky (and all their unfinished business) on a collision course once more.

Despite the mission and all the forces that should be keeping these two apart, they can't fight the pull between them. The stakes are high, and so is the tension. Harris balances the suspense perfectly with the romance, both of the storylines steamrolling towards the satisfying conclusion. I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough. If you are a fan of military romance, romantic suspense, or well-crafted romances in general, read this series. While this is the 4th installment, I was able to jump in without feeling lost. I'm going to backtrack and read the first 3 now.

*Note: I read Dangerously Hot pre-release and know the author, but the provided review is an honest assessment of my thoughts on the story and I am not being compensated for this review.

Hostile Operations Team (HOT) by Lynn Raye Harris:

Former Army linguist Lucinda “Lucky” San Ramos was rescued by Super Sexy Kevin “Kev” “Big Mac” MacDonald, HOT Operator when she was captured. The attraction was there from the beginning but Kev knows he wasn’t ready for more so he let her go. She married is teammate. Now the team mate is dead and the terrorist is back and the Team needs Lucky to ID him. This is when all the thrilling drama starts. Can this forbidden love find its happily ever after. It’s a must read to find out!!!
Lynn Raye Harris stuns me with her splendid gift for romantic suspense, and book four of the HOT series is absolute proof. This book has numerous engaging main and supporting characters that blend together perfectly (a family); Love the Guys!! Fans of military themes, suspense and romance will revel in the sheer thrill of uncovering this faceless evil man. I wanted to jump in the book and kill him myself. I love how the romance between Kev and Lucky started to develop in the mist of all that danger. His protectiveness and heart and her strength and determination was exciting and I love their sizzling sex scenes and I especially love the times the made me laugh. This book will definitely leave you breathless and wanting more!

Loved it! Just love this series.

Lucky Reid is the only one who can identify the terrorist Al Ahmad, the target of HOT’s next mission. Lucky is no longer active duty and Kevin has been tasked with finding her and bringing her back to take part in the mission. He promised her husband Marco before he died he would take care of her; how is bringing her back to be part of a HOT mission taking care of her?

I enjoyed that all my favorite HOT heroes made it on the team in this book. We also get to know some other members a little better. I can only hope they are the heroes of future HOT titles. This is an intense book - plan on undivided reading time for the last few chapters (I had to put it down and it just about killed me!) Where there was sizzle and a little steam in this book it is by far a suspense book, the steamy scenes are well placed.

Go pre-order! It can be read as a stand-alone - but why - the others ones are fantastic! I plan on reading every book ever written in this series.

I received this book from the Publisher via NetGalley for my honest review.

I love it when series you like just gets better by each story, and Dangerously Hot is my favorite of the series.
The team, the brotherhood is so tight, so commendable. I think Mendez is just super with the scary demeanor, and so caring inside.
And I think it is the brotherhood, that makes it so hard for Kevin to admit his feelings to Lucky. As well as his demons from his childhood. But Kevin and Lucky are so energetic together, the chemistry is just sparking, the tension so high, and it has been building for so long, now it is down right explosive. The connection they have with each other is real, even though raw, the tenderness between them so adorable. When two broken, lonely people find the home with each other, it is swoon worthy!
This story don't only have frenzied suspense, violent battles, twists in the plot that makes your heart race, but it also gives an interesting glimpse to the training, planning, and plotting their mission entails. And as always as part of the story is told by the villains point of view, the evil, vicious thoughts and actions makes the suspense even more intense.
Absolutely fantastic tale that deserves all five spoons!

I love romantic suspense stories that have a good balance between romance and action. This had the right balance for me. There was plenty of action and I LOVED that Lucky(our heroine) was the one to ultimately take down the bad guy - nope, not telling you how she did it, just know that I cheered!

My main complaint about this is that Lucky is Marco's widow and she's in love with his best friend, Kev. Kev is in love with her. No, that's not my complaint. My problem is that both of them kept feeling guilty about Marco and wondering what he would say and how he would feel and blah, blah, blah. Marco and Lucky weren't soulmates. They weren't even happily married, they were on the verge of a divorce. But both of them kept mentioning Marco all the time! Maybe that's how it is real life, I don't know. I just know I didn't want to hear about Marco anymore.

Received an ARC from NetGalley for review

Yeah, these boys are HOT, sexy, and smart. This was just as good as the last one. I just wish there had been a prologue of his rescue of her all those years before. Since I haven't read the first two books in series it may be explained there. She claimed to have all these issues with people touching her, but it seemed like she got over just a little too easy. I'm pointing out everything I had trouble with, but I really did like it. So much so that I just got the first three books in a bundle from Amazon (yeah, it was only .99).

Now after having read the first two in the series, I think there should be a prequel novel that explains not only her rescue, but also the whole capture and deaths of the team. There are just too many holes that leave you saying...what?

I like action adventures involving strong men and woman. Dangerously HOT by Lynn Raye Harris certainly fit the bill for me. Having read the third story in the series, I was looking forward to this fourth one. I was not disappointed. The action is intense and the characters hot. I must admit that “Big Mac” McDonald had caught my interest earlier so his story was welcome.
This series is addictive. How do I know this, you ask. Before I had finished Dangerously HOT, I bought the first 2 in the series so I can get caught up with all the operatives written about so far.
Lynn Raye Harris writes in a concise, clear manner that manages to engage your imagination. Dangerously HOT is a perfect blend of suspenseful action with an emotional plot, and wonderful romance. It has enough twists and turns to never be predictable. Excellent read.

I love the stories of HOT! The military-romance genre is fairly new to me as I've only been reading it for about a year, but I definitely think these are some of the best I read. Each book revolves around one couple, but you get to meet each of the HOT operatives in some way. This one was Kev and Lucky's turn to be in the spotlight and it was fantastic...emotional and at times frustrating, but in the end it all worked out. I'm curious to see which guy gets their story told next and will be waiting very impatiently for it to hit the pre-order list. Totally recommend this series to anyone who likes a little action with their......action.

This whole series is action packed, with a hot steamy side of sex. Although this is the fourth book each could be read as a stand alone. Each takes on the story of a different member of H.O.T. This time we have Lucky, H.O.T. widow, and Kevin, player in love. Kevin's rough around the edges but loves Lucky, his best friend's widow. Lucky needs to help the team identify a terrorist as she's the only one to have seen him and lived. This story fulfills the needs of a romance and an action/adventure novel. Thanks to Netgalley I was given a review copy.

Danger Ahead

The HOT team are at it once again and this time it's Kevin "Big Mac" MacDonald's turn. We knew from previous books that him and Lucky had unresolved issues. We'll let me tell you the road to happily ever after for this dynamic duo is filled with so much actions it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Each book gets better and better and I for one can't wait to see who's next in this superior cast of characters.

This is only the second book in the HOT series i have read and although the other was good this one was much better and reminded me of kaylea cross whose military books are always enjoyable full of action and great characters. Its a shame this was'nt the first in the series as you got to know all the HOT team better and learn what there roles are but l will certainly continue to read more from this series in the future.

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Lucky and Kev and their struggles, both personally and professionally made for a fantastic story. After the death of Marco, her husband and his best friend, the two of them hand to learn to live again. The HOT team was, as usual, there and ready to defend the innocent. This series is wonderful! I enjoy the full length novels more than the novellas because they include more detail (obviously). I can't wait for the next installment of HOTness.

I love books about Seals and this one was great. I was on the edge of my seat so many times. I wanted to get in the book and kick some butt too! I felt so bad that Lucky had been held hostage and left scarred physically as well as mentally by an evil terrorist. She ended up marrying Marcos one of the HOT team members and he ended up getting killed. Kevin—Big Mac—who was Marcos best friend had feelings for Lucky too, but he didn’t feel like he was good enough for her and pushed her towards Marcos. The government thought the terrorist that had held Lucky hostage was dead, but they had intel he was alive and causing trouble. Unfortunately Lucky is the only one who has briefly seen his face and knows his voice. She is brought into the team unwillingly to help find him. I loved that Lucky and Kevin had to pretend to be married when they went overseas to find the terrorist as it pushed them together. I could see how hard it was on them to be so close together and still keep their minds on their task. I can’t begin to imagine what Lucky was feeling when she thought about facing that evil man again. There were secrets that came out that helped both of them to heal. The suspense at times on the mission had me trying to read faster to find out what was going to happen. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it.

Boy oh boy these books just get better and better. This one might be my favorite (for now, I still have 13 more to read!) one thing I really love about these books is how you still get to see the past couples and see how their relationship is going. They also all still play a major part so we get dialogue from them as well.

Kev is quite the man with his dark hair, blue eyes, rippling body and tats. Sounds pretty perfect to me. Kev has a very tragic back story that just makes you want to hug and squeeze him (of course he’d never allow that). Kevin is all man and he knows it, using his southern charm on the ladies and everything.

Lucky is quite possibly the most badA female character to boot. A soldier herself, lucky doesn’t take crap from anybody and doesn’t back down. We’ve already been introduced to lucky in the last couple of books as she was Marco’s wife before he died on a mission. But lucky gets called back into active duty to help HOT with a terrorist organization that had captured her in the past.

As if this book couldn’t get any better, lucky is put in a compromising position that makes kev go crazy with worry for the woman he loves. And y’all know how I feel when the girl is captured or attacked and the guy see’s it and goes crazy with rage.

I’m excited to continue to read this series and delve into some of the other soldiers’ stories.

Romance during a military operation is Lucky's and Kevin's story.

Lucky (or not-so-Lucky) had once been held and tortured by the head of the Freedom Force. Shot and left for dead, the man, Al Ahmad, has just been outed as being alive. Since Lucky is the only one who has ever seen his face, she is recruited to help get him.

Kevin has the job of recruiting her back to HOT (Hostile Operations Team), but will she allow old wounds and hurts to be enough to keep her out? Or will she agree, if only reluctantly?

Sparks fly and chemistry prevails, but it's a dangerous mission. Will they be able to work together, or will their attraction for each other distract them into making mistakes? The peace of the world may just depend upon this mission being successful.

A few tiny mistakes (typos or wrong word choice) and only a very few What-the-tuck trends were found.

Like the previous books this 4th story deals with past and present issues for certain members of the HOT team.

Bringing Lucky San Ramos, widow of Marco, into the mix was for his best friend Kevin MacDonald the hardest thing he had ever done since walking away from her.

Thrust together in the line of fire the pair find themselves in danger from within and without. An implacable enemy has Lucky in his sights and no matter how hard it is to do so Kev must follow orders before his heart.

Pulse pounding action mixed with excellent chemistry between the two main characters make for a dynamic read once again in this particular series.
