A romantic chase in which a fitness guru falls for a full-figured paralegal, however, her self-esteem and past relationship struggles leaves her doubting if Mr. Fitness is Mr. Too-Good-To-Be-True.
After Angela Richards’ fiancé abandons her for another woman, she is left with the lingering aftershocks that keep her heart sealed off from love. To the outside world, she is the same fiery and sassy spitfire woman with a larger-than-life attitude of the norm, but personally, she immerses herself in a contented existence while living vicariously through her sisters, Nissi and Aquila. Besides, it’s easier to mind their business than deal with the devastation of her own.
Enter Kinston Jordan. He’s quiet, handsome, rugged, and a renowned fitness instructor. He’s also the older brother of her sister Nissi’s soon-to-be husband, and he has his sights set on Angela. The only problem—Angela refuses to travel down heartbreak lane again, especially with a man like Kinston. How could a fitness guru have eyes for a full-figured woman? Unbeknownst to Angela, Kinston has his own pitfalls with love and just as many reasons to protect his heart as she does.
Can these two wounded souls rebound from their past to find love in their future?

I enjoyed Angela and kinstons story. I didn’t enjoy the 3rd act break up or the not such a baby surprise baby I felt like that was super random. Angela’s trauma was heartbreaking and frustrating. Just let a good man love you already!!! I love that the author presented a man who is pro therapy. I was happy to see less brand new dropping than the 1st boom of the series.
Overall this story was spicy, sad and sweet. Looking forward to Aquila’s story.

4.5☀️ “Love on the Rebound” was a highly anticipated read for me and it was just what I needed. Kinston had Angela running like a track star, my girl was ducking and dodging a relationship. I kept thinking – please, let that man love you! Angela’s ex-boyfriend, Nigel, did a number on her and my heart ached because her previous relationship haunted her, and she was stuck in limbo. Kinston was a man, in every sense of the word!! Angela said Kinston was “kryptonite” and the reason “sin was created.” Whew! So why was Angela antilove, again? I think a big part was Angela needed to heal from the damage her ex did and to forgive herself from her moment of weakness with said ex. Kinston was just the man to undo the damage Nigel caused but also proved time and time again that his “duty” was to provide protection and the love she yearned. While the relationship and yo-yoing between Kinston and Angela was a lot, there was a twist in the story that had me ready to throw my phone… I was not ready!! Overall, “Love on the Rebound” was a fantastic story, and great follow-up story for the Richards sisters and the Jordan brothers. There were sweet moments of intimacy, good banter, comedic relief, and a good dose of drama. Great job on this one!
There’s something about a book that stresses you out but you refuse to put it down because you are so locked in to the story. That is exactly how I felt reading this one. This gave me real friends to lovers and I truly appreciate that. It also shows the importance of healing and more importantly learning to trust yourself enough to fall in love again. Kinston is top tier book boyfriend material, even with his lil secret coming to light. I just wanted Angela to let herself be happy and I’m glad that ultimately that’s what she did. This book forced me to have a little patience and I have to say it was absolutely worth it. I’m looking forward to Aquila’s book next!!! Thank you to Black Odyssey Media and Aries Skye for the ARC. All thoughts and feelings are my own!
I can say this one was better than the first book of the series. Kinston was down bad for Angela even in book one and I loved their energy.
But one thing that irritates me to no end is when the FMC has been hurt by the most trash man on earth and this great man comes along and treats you like the world revolves around you and your first thought is “Hmm. He’s a good man but Mr. Trash hurt me and I just have to sit in that hurt.” At that point I want someone to put me in the book to shake some sense into the characters.
Kinston was everything. But the third act twist? I was not a fan. Angela had to share her time and I know she didn’t mind…but I did.
This book follows the love story of Angela and Kinston who we met in Love on the Ninth Floor, the first book by this author. In this book Angela is getting over a bad breakup with her ex-fiancé when she runs into him again, and due to a poor decision on her part she gets her heart broken all over again causing her to vow never to get into a relationship again.
Kinston met Angela briefly in the first book and ever since then he has been trying to get her to give him a chance for at least a date. A chance encounter finds her giving into his request and from that date on they form a connection. Throughout the book it was clear that they both had feelings for each other but she didn't want to act on hers due to her fear of being hurt and not being able to recover. She also has self-esteem issues thanks to her ex so she doesn't feel worthy to be the woman that deserves Kinston's attention and affection no matter how hard he tries to tell her otherwise. Eventually, she does agree to be his girlfriend and everything is going well for them as a couple. It was so nice to see them together and happy but then some unnecessary drama came out of left field and threatened to break them up for good.
This book was filled with ups and downs for Angela and Kinston and of course I was rooting for them through it all because it was obvious they should be together. I didn't know how it was going to wind up at the end but I was happy we got a HEA and I thought it was nice to see that Nissi played a part in at least causing Angela to talk to him Kinston again to hear him out, similar to how Angela played a part in Nissi and Kannon getting together in the first book. I also enjoyed seeing more of Nissi and Kannon as a married couple in this book and get to catch up with them.
Overall I enjoyed the book but I could have done without the unnecessary drama. Now that I know this is a trilogy I am curious to see what Aquila's story winds up being in the next book and of course seeing more of the Richards sisters and Jordan brothers. Thank you to Black Odyssey Media and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
When they say the sequel is never as good as the first, they surely was not talking about this book. I was not able to read it on Net Galley due to the lettering being really small on my phone but received it through my kindle. This book did not disappoint!! I'm going to say Angela is my favorite sister so far. I love the fact that she was a beautiful plus size women, the way Kingston was interested in her from the start. (the first book) just had my attention throughout this whole book. I thought this book was so well written, the character development of Angela, I loved her so much. The relationship between the sisters was such a beautiful unbreakable bond. These sister's are there for each other no matter what they are going through. The brothers Kannon and Kingston are such good representation of black men. They are equitant to the men I grew up around not what society wants everyone to believe black men are, these men exist!!!. I have to say out of the two books this is my favorite. I can't wait to hear Aquila's story cause that into, Oh man!!!

My Take: Having read the first book in the series, I found it compelling enough to seek out the second—and I'm pleased I did. The author's growth is evident, which bodes well for subsequent novels (I anticipate a story for the eldest sister, and perhaps Nia too). The book fulfills its premise, including the inevitable third-act breakup, which I overlook since Kinston proves to be an endearing "book boyfriend." The romance offers more of a jalapeño-level heat than habanero, yet it's still sufficient to elicit an "alright now" from the reader. In summary, if the first book was to your liking, this sequel will not disappoint. If you were undecided about the first, this one marks a notable improvement and is worth your consideration.
Love on the Rebound is my first book from this author, and I absolutely loved it. The characters were entertaining and had me laughing out loud. This story was full of great friends, family, lovers, heartfelt moments, steamy scenes, sweet surprises, undeserving exes and so much more. This book gives us Angela and Kinston's story but their family, friends, and unexpected exes are very much involved in their story and their relationship. Angela has experienced what it's liked to be betrayed, unwanted, unloved after standing by and supporting the person she thought loved her as much as she loved him, but her ex-Nigel showed her differently. Kinston knows what it's like to be betrayed by the two people he thought he could trust but things aren't always what they seem. However, once he sets his sights on Angela, he's willing to risk his heart but Angela isn't so open to doing the same. Kinston isn't willing to give up so easily but he's willing to fight as long as he believes there's a chance. Their path to love is not easy and not without drama but the journey was so worth it. The ending was even better, and I loved every page of it. This is a romance story worth reading and it definitely left me excited to read Angela's sister Aquilas story. This is a story I will be recommending to all of my romance loving friends, and I'm looking forward to reading many more books from this author.
Angela Richards is a fiery, successful, loving, and fiercely protective woman, but she’s also deeply scarred and insecure from a painful past relationship.
Kinston Jordan…. Oh, he’s ALL THE THINGS. Fine, sexy, successful, patient, thoughtful, and oh-so-persistent. He could have any woman he wants, but the one he’s set his sights on is his sister-in-law, Angela Richards. And if you know the Jordan boys from “Love on the Ninth Floor”, you know they don’t back down until they get what they want.
Kinston is more than willing to put in the work to help Angela heal, and their chemistry! Off. The. Freaking. Charts🔥
This book had me all in my feelings! I laughed, cried, fussed, cussed, and laughed some more🤣 Angela’s indecisiveness! Whew, it had me ready to throw my iPad at times, but that’s what made the journey so worth it. The storyline, the sisterly banter, the playful back-and-forth, the music references, and let’s not forget those fiery, toe-curling sex scenes🔥
Just when I thought nothing could top “Love on the Ninth Floor, Aries Skye came through and DID THAT! Now I’m sitting here ready and waiting for Aquilla’s story because that sneak peek was a jaw-dropper!
Readers, if you want a book that will take you on an emotional rollercoaster and keep you hooked from start to finish, take my word….This is that! 1-Click now and thank me later!

Love on the Rebound begins on a high with Angela Richards celebrating her birthday with her family and friends. After a lot of drinking and a few bad decisions, the morning after opens old wounds for Angela and sends her into a cavern of insecurities. Kinston Jordan is a fitness entrepreneur and hopeless romantic. He wanted Angela from the moment he saw her and vows to put in the work it takes for her to be his.
Kinston is quality Book Bae material. He is thoughtful, kind and romantic. Angela is selfless, bold and down-to-earth. The chemistry between the two is hot, hot, hot! The dialogue between the couple was adorable. I loved their friendship.
I really enjoyed the plot of this story. I didn't see that last plot twist coming! It was an awesome depiction of that "grown and sexy" kind of love. I enjoyed catching up with the other characters in the story. It was nice to see the growth of Kannon and Nissi's (Love on the Ninth Floor Book 1) relationship. Looking forward to the next story in the series!

This book was stressful but like in the best way. This story follows Kinston and Angela who we met briefly in Love on the Ninth Floor. First of all, I am loving books where the characters are interconnected. This is the second book in the Richard sister's chronicles. I was impressed at how this felt different and familiar to the first all in one.
Kinston Jordan is ONE OF THE BEST book baes out there. He's got the good looks, the yearning, the intentionality, the pursuing without being creepy. Like Mr. Jordan, similar to his brother, got it going on.
Angela at some points, was a little annoying to me. She did have alot of past trauma from her previous relationship with Nigel, and so I tried to give her grace. But I feel like a good portion of the book was her figuring out how to be with Kinston and overcome the negative messaging from her ex. I also think that Angela was such a real character, and like really highlighted how hard it is sometimes to work on yourself.
This book had DRAMA - like up and down, and around the world! I honestly did not think they were going to get an HEA, especially as the last twist was a big one. Overall, I enjoyed the book and cannot wait to read the next one! I would recommend this book for someone who loves Black romances, with plenty of spice AND drama. I honestly feel like reading this was like recapping the craziest few weeks with a friend over facetime!
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better after Nessi and Mr. Fire and Rescue (Love on the Ninth Floor). Aries Skye has wrote yet another banger. Angela & Kinston, where do I start! He pursued, dated, encouraged, spoke into, and loved her through all of her past transgressions of a failed relationship, loss of a child, feelings of abandonment, being disrespected because of her weight, than cheated on. Kinston is the epitome of a man who strives to live life through positivity even when he’s dealing with the death of his mother, betrayal by his ex-girlfriend and friend. This man took on broken fragments of Angela even when he was broken himself and mended her heart along with his. Through love, persistence, therapy, and family they made it through and Angela finally stopped running!! This was a love story that I needed!!!! Their chemistry was unmatched. Them Jordan boys are something serious!!!! I thoroughly loved this read and can’t wait for Aquila’s story!
I was able to read this ARC and I am excited to read more from this author. This is my first book by her. I truly enjoyed this book and the banter between characters. I absolutely loved the slow burn between the FMC, Angela and the MMC, Kinston. I read a review before starting this book about there being too many side characters, however I believe the addition of these characters (Angela’s siblings and their partners, Kinston’s brother, Angela’s ex). I appreciate the representation of mid-sized/plus sized characters in the book and the realistic body image discussions that take place. Also, I enjoyed the portion about seeking mental health professional help for difficulties with trauma, anger management and overall forgiveness
Kinston’s determination despite multiple setbacks made for a wonderful read.
There are well notated trigger warnings at the start of the novel as well as a wonderful pronunciation guide for the names of the characters.
"Love on the Rebound" is a heavy romance that will make you feel every emotion, from happiness to sadness and everything in between. Angela is a full-figured woman who is struggling with insecurities, especially after being with her ex. Kinston is a fitness guru and also the perfect guy in every sense. He wants Angela, but Angela believes herself to be undesirable, especially to a man like Kinston. She is severely traumatized and scarred, but Kinston takes his time with her, which I loved so much! He is patient, understanding, and gentle. (Literally the perfect book boyfriend!) Angela's growth is undeniable, and it made me so happy to see her development. I loved Angela and Kinston together & was rooting for them the whole way through. This book definitely warmed my heart (not to mention it had the spice we all love in a romance), and I'd love to see more from this author! Thank you NetGalley, Black Odyssey, and Aries Skye for this ARC.
Aries Skye's book "Love On The Rebound" pulled me in with its allure, affection, and depth. I was awaiting Angela's story and it did not disappoint. Every essence of Kingston and Angela’s story captivated me from beginning to end that continued from "Love On The Ninth Floor" with the characters bond and family ties, the narrative and the pursuit of love had me completely immersed in the pages. This story was well-developed, the plot was engaging, and the transformative journey towards love resonated with me making the characters feel familiar and knowing. This story was a beautifully depicted, funny, sexy, uplifting, feel good, page turning read that reinforced the importance of self-love, patience and confidence while remaining open to the possibilities of what new beginnings can bring.
This is my first time reading a book by Aries Skye and I must say that I enjoyed reading about Angela and Kingston. I didn’t read the first book in this series “Love On The Nineth Floor.” Angela is a full-figured paralegal with self esteem issues and to top it off her fiancé left her for another woman. Kingston is a sexy handsome fitness instructor. Kingston and Angela know each other. Kingston’s brother Kannon and Angela’s sister Nissa are soon to be married. Kingston has his eyes on Angela. Angela and Kingston have both been hurt in the pass and are afraid to open up their hearts again to romance. These two are great together, I love their chemistry and attraction to each other and how they finally opened up their hearts to each other.
I received an ARC via NetGalley and Black Odyssey Media and I am leaving my review voluntarily.
I love the Angela and Kinston story. They both dealt with heartbreaks and trauma. It’s hard to start a new relationship when you’re still hung up on the last relationship. Until you fully get over the ex, you cant let a good man show you the proper love. That was exactly Angela issue. She needed to let go in order to let a good man love her. It was so many up and downs throughout the book but it what it made feel so real. I didn’t know what to expect, I was just enjoying the storyline.
I enjoyed the movies and songs references throughout the book. That was fun. Love the sister banter and relationship they have together. Real sisterhood!

First thank you NetGalley and Black Odyssey Media for the chance to read this ARC.
I loved everything about this book, I physically could not put it down. I read it in one sitting that’s how good it was. I loved Kinston for Angela so much. He was just such a great man in every way. It annoyed me a lot that she was stuck on her ex for soooo long but I understand why. I was so happy Angela and Kinston got their happy ending. I did not like that Angela was very self conscious and that a man did that to her but when she realized who she was and how beautiful she was I was so happy. I love that she got her happy ending and a man to treat her properly!
Black Odyssey Media and NetGalley provided an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed here are solely my own.
I had very high hopes for this Black Romance featuring a fabulous plus sized FMC and a super fit personal trainer/gym owner. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The premise was promising but the book was overstuffed with side characters, unnecessary inner dialogue, and descriptions of small details that didn’t truly matter. I had to force myself to finish 😔
This was my favorite book so far of this series. I loved how Kingston did not play about Angela and was definitely persistent in what in wanted with her. I also loved how the author displayed how women suffer from a previous relationship and let it hold them back from accepting a good man. The way the MMC in this book never gave up on his love for the FMC even when he thought he wanted to was everything and more. I’m definitely ready for the next story which is Aquilla’s story and how it all unfolds. ❤️
This was a good read. The running was exhausting. Angela just reallllyyyy drug it. She was running from this man for over half of the book it became redundant. I did not expect the sudden turn of events towards the end but I’m glad they worked themselves out. I would’ve really loved for them to really rub it in Nigel’s face how happy she was and how his karma is eating him alive. Also lailah got off too easy in my book. This story was good but the get back was blah. Maybe I’m a toxic reader but this book had all the makings to be a little more turnt.

Did I go into this book hoping it was better than the first one? Yes, yes I did! Was it better than the first one? Yes, yes it was!! I am so glad they did not stress me out as much as Kannon and Nissi, but Kingston and Angela did have their moments. Around 70% it got real messy and I was here for it, even though it wasn’t expected at all. Now I’m ready for Aquila book because her husband needs to be gone like yesterday!
I had the chance to read this book early and it hits the spot. I can't wait for you all to read it. Kinston and Angela will take you on a journey that will make you smile, cry, and angry. Angela's past is something she struggles with and it shows. Kinston is smitten and fighting for his chance with her. I loved them. These sisters and their relationship is very sibling oriented. They bicker but have each other's back.
I really enjoyed this book. It is full of laughter, hurt, romance and family. The characters are relatable (you know them, they’re your people 😉) and it’s beautiful Black love at its peak! There’s forgiveness and second chances. Angela and Kinston are meant to be no matter what and that love is…..like WHOA!! Get this one when it comes out later this year!
After reading the first book in this series, i knew this author would be an autobuy, and she has cemented that title with this book. This was such an enjoyable read, full of love and surprises. I am really loving this series. The writing is top notch, and the characters are great with their banter and will have you all in your feelings. I'm especially loving the fact that the series involves three sister and three brothers. I'm loving the black love representation with each book, as well as the separate families and how each one is there for the other. I am so excited and I can't wait for the next book in the series.
I received a copy of the book via the Publisher through NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions
Thanks to NetGalley and Black Odyssey Media for this great read. I enjoyed this book. I read it quite slow because it had good characters and a good story. This was easy to read and I kept going back to it but I didn’t want it to finish.
