My Rating: 4–4.5 stars!

** ARC was generously provided in exchange for my honest review. **

I’m calling it— Brayden is my favourite MMC from the Evil Dead MC second generation! He went from someone who, I’m embarrassed to admit wasn’t even on my radar, to someone who ended up having my undivided attention.

And now? I 👏WANT 👏MORE OF 👏BRAYDEN! 🤭

A Romeo and Juliet inspired forbidden romance? Hell yeah! James has written another easy-going romance read that I positively devoured in one go. It gave me the feels. I felt for the characters’ predicament so much so, that I was on the edge of my seat anxious to see how it would all turn out for Brayden and Rebel.

It’s fast-paced yet punchy, gripping, and sated my swooning, romance-loving heart. Not as in-depth as I would’ve liked, but having already read (and loved) the Evil Dead MC first-gen series, it helped fill backstories amongst the MC brothers and their families. If you haven’t read them, you can absolutely dive-in before or even after reading Brayden.

But what a full-circle moment Brayden brings to the original Evil Dead MC! Reading this one gave me such nostalgia that I reread Outlaw, Crash, and Shades because I wasn’t ready to close the book (no pun intended) on Cole and Angel, and Shades and Skylar just yet. Even seeing character crossover from the original series to this next one was an epic sight to see. Although, I don’t think I’ll ever accept that any of the first-gen brothers have aged. 🙈🤭

In all seriousness, this story is a prime example of the premise of this next gen series— Brayden and Rebel being forced to tackle the repercussions of their fathers (and the club’s) wrongdoings.

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this in any of my previous reviews for the second-gen books, but Green is surprising me more and more with the role he has played in the lives of the next-gen characters. I’m loving it, and I’m loving that as established a character that he already is, he still seems to be growing and evolving as a character. He’s one secondary character that was an unexpected yet welcomed support system. He’s come a long way from the initial comic relief of the group.

Rebel is probably my favourite second-gen FMC too. She’s just so damn likable that I was all-in with her and Brayden’s story from the get-go. There’s also just the right number of intimate scenes included with fairly mid-level spice. It’s the build-up between Brayden and Rebel that really had me thirsting. 🤤

An MC-lite, forbidden romance story with a smidge of action and suspense here and there. Just enough to keep you on your toes. I’ve loved the initial world-building created and this next-gen series has expanded it by introducing new characters and fresh club business. Brotherhood has always been a solid element in James’ MC books and it’s one of the elements I always look forward to seeing. With the addition of Brayden, I got to see just as much of the familial dynamics and friendships as the romantic relationship. The banter is always an instant mood-booster especially when tensions are high. But I also liked seeing that all joking aside, Brayden and his brother, albeit complex, have quite a bond.

Although it’s an overall light-hearted MC romance, this story does contain sensitive themes that some readers may find triggering. It broaches on death, addiction/substance abuse, and depression. Just take into consideration before starting it.

Brayden and Rebel go through a rollercoaster, and I’ll most likely be in the minority, but I wasn’t completely content with how their biggest predicament was settled, but I can’t say I was at all surprised either. Nevertheless, with a whirlwind romance full of drama, angst, and longing, they are an amazing pair. Despite their relationship growing serious relatively fast, at the same time there was a genuine connection present that developed organically due to the fortuitous circumstances they found themselves in. I wished their book was longer as I truly enjoyed reading their story all too much.

Total comfort read. Effortless to follow. Great fictional escapism with an incredibly entertaining cast of characters. As an international reader (outside of the US audience), I was transported to vivid settings without having to step outside my front door. The book also concludes on a juicy little teaser for the next story in the series that had me perking up with anticipation.

BRAYDEN: SINS OF THE FATHER is the fifth instalment in Nicole James’ contemporary adult EVIL DEAD: SECOND GENERATION erotic, MC romance series-a spin off from the author’s EVIL DEAD MC series. This is Brayden Austin , and mechanic Rebel’s story line. BRAYDEN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Rebel is the daughter of Alabama Chapter’s club president Shades (Shades #3), and Brayden is the son of California Chapter president Cole (Outlaw #1).

Told from dual first person perspectives ( Brayden and Rebel) BRAYDEN follows the forbidden relationship between Brayden and Rebel. The death of an MC member in the Alabama Chapter MC pulls together brother bikers from all over the States where Brayden Austin will meet his future in the guise of mechanic Rebel but a long standing feud between the presidents of the Alabama and California chapters threatens their growing relationship from the start, pushing Brayden to make a decision that will hurt the people he loves. What ensues is the forbidden but quick building romance and relationship between Brayden and Rebel, and the fall-out when Brayden is forced to chose between family and love.

The world building focuses on life and death, forgiveness and acceptance, family and love . A new enemy is threatening the established MCs; a bitter rivalry, and the fall-out of a life long friendship culminates in the love between the children of the people in charge.

The relationship between Brayden and Rebel is one of immediate attraction but neither one is aware of what happened in the past. The ‘sins of the father’ is threatening the growing love between our story line couple when the couple is forced to make a choice. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.

Once agains, there is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters many of whom we met in the previous series-Ghost, Red Dog, Blood,Shades, Cole as well as Marcus, TJ and Billy.

BRAYDEN is a story of power and control, family and friendships, forgiveness and love. The premise is dramatic and intriguing; the romance is immediate and attentive; the characters are desperate and broken.

Nicole James strikes gold once again with "Brayden," the fifth instalment in the Evil Dead Second Generation series. This gripping, passionate MC romance pulls you in from the very first page and refuses to let go.

Brayden, the youngest son of the club president, struggles under the weight of his father's expectations. Always feeling compared to his older brother, he finds himself questioning his worth within the club. When a trip to Birmingham for a funeral leads him to the founder chapter, Brayden crosses paths with the enchanting Rebel, the president's daughter. Their chemistry is immediate and electrifying, igniting a romance that is anything but simple.

With bad blood between their fathers, Brayden and Rebel's love story unfolds amidst a backdrop of tension and hidden secrets. The thousands of miles that separate them are nothing compared to the internal battles Brayden faces, especially with a secret he's kept from his parents threatening to unravel everything.

Rebel stands out as a vibrant, strong-willed main character, perfectly complementing Brayden's inner turmoil and desire to prove himself. Their relationship is intense and steamy, yet infused with heartfelt romance, making every interaction between them sizzle with authenticity.

Nicole James masterfully weaves a tale full of twists and turns, ensuring that readers are kept on the edge of their seats. "Brayden" is a rollercoaster ride of emotions, packed with tension, passion, and unexpected revelations. It's a ride you won't want to miss.

Brayden is the youngest son to his MC President, and he struggles with trying to live up to his older brother. He's also keeping a big secret from his father because he's so worried about losing his patch so he struggles with that as well. The MC ends up going to another chapter for a former president's funeral, and this is when he comes face to face with Rebel, a club princess, whose father has made her off limits to all the bikers. They have an instant connection so they start seeing each other secretly. See, their fathers have hatred for each other from past events, so if they come out, well, it would cause no end of drama that's for sure. They do end up having to come clean so they're separated as he has to go home to his chapter, and both are definitely suffering a great deal. They're suffering so much that she ends up leaving home under the radar to go to him so now it's time for their fathers to put their feud behind them before they lose their kids for good but will these two stubborn Presidents get it together? On top of all of this, they're also dealing with a new group that no one knows anything about so there's that popping off to give us some suspense as well. This story was another fantastic read in this series, and I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Brayden by Nicole James 5/23/24 5 stars (g me b)
Brayden & Rebel

The club is traveling cross country, on their bikes, to honor one of the club's founders who died suddenly. Most chapters all over the country are represented. Rebel, the President's daughter, is warned to stay away from all of them. She is introduced and they are all warned. Little did he know Brayden and Rebel had met both unaware of their connection, but well aware of the chemistry between them. Finding a way to spend time together isn't easy. The more they do the harder it is going to be when he has to leave. Just a general warning to all the brothers isn't enough. Oh, no. Their fathers have a twenty-year ongoing feud.

This isn't the more familiar story with waring clubs, traffickers, and mafia. This is unique and one heck of a read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The talented author keeps upping the problems. Is it even possible for them to be together? Don't expect an easy quick answer. Just come along for the ride and enjoy the scenery, watch out for the weather, and hope the ole ladies can...well better not tell
you that.

This one makes me promise myself to reread the series again. There are other great books as well

Brayden and Rebel meet by chance. They each feel a spark, but neither knows who the other one truly is. When they discover who they each are, they know they have some issues to deal with. Shades is not a very good father at letting Rebel live her life. He is pretty controlling and I could see how she would have real issues with that. Her mother wasn't any better and I felt like both of them needed to be called out. Cole is not much better with Brayden. It felt like both fathers thought their kids should have been robots who just automatically followed orders. Life doesn't work that way, even in an MC. Brayden and Rebel come to realize that they could really be something to each other. They just have to figure out how they can be together without ripping both of their families apart. I don't want to give away what happens, but I will say this was my favorite book so far in this series.

Brayden is the son of the California Chapter President, Cole.

Rebel is the Alabama Chapter's club princess, daughter of Shades, and off-limits to any man wearing a patch.

Cole & Shades have had a conflict with each other for about 20ish years. Now that they are together for a funeral of a fallen club member, they have to make due with being around each other.
Rebel & Brayden meet each other not realizing that they were both involved with the MC CLUB. Brayden likes Rebel because she's into bikes, and knows how to fix bikes and cars, and she's hot! Rebel like Brayden because he defends her and he's hot.

They live on the opposite sides of the US. Will they be able to see about living in California or Alabama? Who will move for who? Or will they be able to make a compromise?

I did receive a free ARC Book copy. I am freely leaving an honest review.

Brayden is the son of Cole, the President of the California Chapter of the MC. He feels overshadowed by his brother and father. He meets Rebel when the mc travel to the Alabama chapter for a funeral. The couple hit it off despite their fathers forbidding anything happening between them. Brayden is harboring a secret that could tear things apart for his parents. Rebel is a mechanic and daughter of Shades, President of the Alabama Chapter. She's also a take charge kind of woman. The couple are determined to stay together no matter their father's wishes on the matter. A good mc read and addition to the second generation series.

Best yet!

I've loved reading all of Nicole's books; she hasn't put a foot wrong, really. But as with all series, there have been standouts amongst all of the great books she's written.
Undertaker is probably the one book that, when I think of the EDMC, he's the one that's forefront in my mind... Well, Brayden & Rebel's story is right there with him. I absolutely loved these two. Their instant connection, their strength of character, their 'no games, no macho' attitude was so refreshing. Just two people who were mature enough to know their feelings for each other and were willing to fight for that love. 👍👍👍👍 1000 thumbs up!

We have seen Brayden grow up through this series of the next generation and I am enjoying see him grown from a snot nose kid to a mature adult. Now we get to see his story; with Rebel. They are both kids of the MC presidents. Both of their dads don’t like each other—so that makes Rebel off limits. Meeting by chance and hitting it off, they explore their chemistry. Rebel is good for Brayden, he still has struggles and she is there for him. Ms. James, did an amazing job bringing in a lot of the old times and not having it take away from Brayden and Rebel’s story. Which for me was amazing. This one was by far my favorite story in the series. I can’t wait for the next one.

Why does she do this to me? I'm only going to read a few chapters... half the book later, okay it's not that late maybe just a couple more. Middle of the night finishing book, waking the next morning groggy and sad because i realized i already finished this one lol.
Loved these characters and it was awesome seeing so many of the old characters that i love! makes me want to go back and start from the beginning , which i usually do every 2-3 years anyway.
btw I have a son with the same name, spelled the same too... loved that. and it was only weird at the beginning lol.

Young ❤️

I just love this book and how two young people find their other half. Brayden is the son of president for the EDMC CA chapter. Rebel is the daughter of the EDMC president for AL chapter. The Evil Dead chapters come to AL for a funeral of a former president. Brayden gets a nail in his motorcycle and taken to a garage where he meets Rebel. There is attraction that they both feel and go with it. Can these two give each other up due to hate between both their fathers? I already preordered the next 2nd generation book and will order as many books from Ms James.

Brayden is book 5 in the Sins of the Father Evil Dead MC - Second Generation written by the amazing author Nicole James. A must read! Highly recommend this book, series and author. This is Bryden & Rebel's story. Brayden Austin is the son of the California Chapter President, Cole & Angel. Rebel is the daughter of Alabama Chapter’s club president Shades & Skylar. The ‘sins of the father’ is causing problems between our head line couple. Their story had you hanging off every word and unable to put the book down. I just loved everything about this book! No Spoilers!!

Love the second generation!

I could not stop turning the pages so I stayed up late to finish this book! You can't go wrong when reading Nicole James's Evil Dead books. This story was about the relationship between Brayden and Rebel. They are part of the same motorcycle club family but on different sides of the country. Unfortunately for them, their fathers are old enemies who hold a grudge from the past against each other. This is a true Romeo and Juliet love story except it has a HEA ending. This book contains steamy spicy scenes and some angst.

Absolutely loved it!

These next generation books are so much fun. Not only are we getting to keep in touch with the characters that we have grown to love but we get the stories from their offspring as well. This one especially moves us around different chapters and oh what fun it is.
Rebel and Brayden are perfect for each other. Told to stay away from each other only helps push them together. This is a sexy, fun exciting book and I absolutely loved it.

AMAZING

I love love this book as I have every other Evil Dead MC book. Nicole had a way to keep you reading. I read it cover to cover in one day cause I couldn't get enough. This is such a great story plus you have other characters from other chapters of the EDMC, Blood, Shades, Undertaker and more. As always Nicole James you are amazing and so are your books. Each one gets better and better can't wait until the next book.

Great read

This another good book book in the evil dead series. Braden goes to Alabama chapter to pay respects to the former President of that chapter and falls in love with the current President's daughter Rebel .
Rebels Dad and Braden's dad does not get along so there's a lot fireworks when they find out they are seeing each other .
If you haven't read the other books in the series you need too. You will understand everything better.
Looking forward to Wolf's sons book.

Wow! Two different chapters that the presidents don’t get along. What happens when their children fall for each other? Chaos! To be fair Brayden nor Rebel realize they are both involved the mc. The question is, how does everyone handle it? Living on different sides of the country, fathers not getting along, will there be a compromise? Will they be able to make it work? The book has plenty going on to keep you sucked in. Loved it.

Wow. What a story. I didn't expect what would happen. I couldn't put the book down once I started.

I loved Brayden and Rebel together, they met by chance. But they find love in each other. But they find roadblocks from everyone but one unlikely person. But they never give up. They fight for what they want.

I can't wait for more.

New beginnings

Brayden has finally grown up! To see where he came from with TJ bailing him out of trouble more often than naught, it makes me smile! I love seeing a good crossover between chapters, and what's not to love about a good Romeo and Juliette storyline?!?! I can't wait to see what's to come with the Alabama and Cali chapters!

Love the story of Brayden and Rebel sort of a star crossed lovers tale ! It made me laugh, cry and most of all made me want to hit someone. Its a great story I think you as the reader will love it as I did!!😍😍 I recommend it to you with a 5 Stars review

Brayden & Rebel

I didn't see that ending coming. A feud that lasted for years finally gets settled, secrets are brought to light and tough decision are made all because of young love. This story truly has a Romeo and Juliet feel to it and it was absolutely perfect. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Brayden and Rebel.

Awesome book!!

Loved this book. Nicole brought back all the old players. Makes me want to reread the entire series. It was great hearing from the Birmingham chapter again. Rebel and Brayden are made for each other. When they first meet they have no clue who the other is. But the next day they sure do. It only gets explosive from there.

Love this story of lovers who have fathers who hate each other. Cole had been feuding with Shades since Shades was a prospect.
When his daughter falls for Cole's son it brings the resentment back to light.
These two are so perfect together. Rebel and Braden need to find a,way to stay together .
Second generation is proving to be just as great as the first generation.

What do you do when the person you fall in love with, is the son of your father’s greatest enemy even if they both are brothers of the Evil Dead MC? You try to keep it a secret, right? Definitely recommend this book, author and series.
