Anna James is single again, finally. In her opinion, men are self-centered and will never love her for who she is, a beautiful, plus sized woman. All except the fantasy man that she’s been meeting in her dreams for five years. She just never expected her fantasy to be a real live alpha shifter...
Cade Le Beau isn't what he seems. He’s a billionaire wolf. A Shifter. He laments his missed chance six months ago to meet his fantasy woman in the flesh. Just as his second chance presents itself, his fantasy woman, his mate, is threatened by the local mob boss and her ex-husband. Now, he has forty eight hours to deal with this threat once and for all or chance losing her again.
Is it Anna who’s in danger, or the humans who unwittingly threaten her?
The heat is on the moment they lay eyes on each other. Neither, age, children, horrid ex-husbands, nor mob bosses will stop this love affair.

I picked this up because I love the idea of two people meeting and having a relationship in dreams before actually meeting so I thought between that and the reviews it would be a sure winner. Not so much, I actually got a little over half way and decided I couldn't finish the rest of it. I might go back, there is no big this book sucks or any emotion really. A little eye rolling but no huge emotion.

In a nutshell it took every school girl fantasy and put it in the book like a check list. Rich guy, instant love, croons romantically, and miraculously she is younger and thinner. Not much substance to keep my attention.

“Mate, I will never break your heart. Ever. You are the other half of my soul, my reason for living.”

Being mates was nothing like humans falling in love slowly over time as they got to know one another, she thought. Mates had an instant attraction and strong sexual need to be together often. Their very hearts and souls cried out for the other. The need was an immediate, deeply emotional connection. The getting to know your mate came second.

Anna has lived her life for her boys in a bad relationship. Being a good mother she stays in it for her boys and once they leave the nest. So does she.

Anna moved to beautiful New Orleans resigned to living the life alone as there only one man who is PERFECT and that man she has been 'seeing' in her dreams for YEARS! He is not JUST a man, but a sexy shifter. But that doesn't exists in REAL life... no man can wine and dine and court you and whisper sexy things in Creole while making you see stars AND be a sexy red-headed wolf... NOPE... not possible.

But sitting in a bar one afternoon she feels the pull of a man... a STRONG, BIG man who approaches her...

Cade after YEARS of being a lonely wolf NEVER thought he would one day just feel the pull of MATE... but he does... he gets dragged by this pull to a bar where he meets HER... the woman who has been seeing in his dreams. The woman he is in love with.

Dold writes their romance beautifully. I really think of it as Romance Porn... it is something we all want a man who is patient and strong/protective. Who anticipates your needs and has interests. Dold also spends a lot of the book setting up the history and magic of how the paranormal world works in this series. We have some introductions to secondary characters like Cade's brothers who are also single and looking...

Also, Important to note that's I couldn't decide who I was falling in love more with Cade/Anna or New Orleans. If I never had an urge to visit as is the way Dold writes of the city is breathtaking and you can literally hear the jazz and the hum of people moving around. Simply beautiful!

It is a STRONG start to a series and hope to see more from this series... and all the HEA for all the brothers... especially the messed up, traumatized brother who lives in a wolf form.

You might think I'm being corny, but Cade was amazing.

He was everything from romantic to being Anna's fierce protector.

He helped her self esteem and just everything. There was nothing he wouldn't do for her!

Sigh! So romantic.

Anna is finally free of her cheating abusive husband, she doesn't believe a man will ever see her for who she is and that they only care for themselves. The exception to the rule is the man in her dreams who she is about to find out is a real live person, well a real live shifter. Cade is everything a woman could want, a sexy billionaire shifter out to get his mate. With humans threatening her, Anna is about to find out just what it means to have an alpha shifter love you and the lengths he will go to, to protect what's his. It has been a few weeks since I have read a shifter book I have been on a contemporary romance reading binge lately so I needed something to get me out of my overload funk and into something different and this book really did that for me. I really liked this book, Anna was the type of character that I can relate to because she wasn't perfect and I love that while she knew this she didn't dwell on it so much that it became the complete focus of the story. Cade was perfect, not literally he was just perfect for Anna he did everything he could to try to make her see how beautiful she was to him and in my eyes that makes him perfect. The great interactions between the huge family that Cade has kept the story going and adds touches of humor to this book, I liked how you got to know the secondary characters a little bit without it feeling like you were being set up for their own books, so it did not take away from Cade and Anna's story. There is a little bit of suspense with Anna's ex and the mob, however, that wasn't really the focus of the book it was kinda a side story, more of a nuisance than anything else the book focus more on the romance between Cade and Anna than anything else. This was a very enjoyable book and I can't wait to read the next installment in the Le Beau Brothers series.

Simplistic wolf shifter romance with saintly virile rich men, long-suffering unflappable women, and cartoon villains (whom it's OK to torture). Dastardly deeds break up the sex scenes.
Errors: too many commas ("By the wistful expression, Emma wore, he must look it, too."), apostrophe s plurals ((boy's, guy's, Beau's, etc.), missing possessive apostrophes (Cades arms, Simons arm, etc.), incorrect literary references (Merlyn for Merlin, unless she's talking about the Green Arrow character), homonym mistakes (pecks for pecs, fair for fare, anyway for any way, pouring for poring, it's for its), and wrong unit of measurement (10 acres to the west).

It's ok 2.5 to 3 stars.

This book wasn't exactly what I expected, it's a harmless little romance, no surprises or shocks it just goes the way you expect from the first page to the last.
The characters are nice enough, Cade is the rich handsome shifter, oldest son from a royal line who's finally, with a bit of intervention from his parents found his mate. Anna is finally single again after a bad marriage and Cade is literally her dream man.
It's all very nice and very sweet but also very predictable.

Where to begin...
I love Cade...He is old world, the charm that has many women swooning and many man envious. The man still kisses the back of a woman's hand for heaven's sake! Oh and the fact that he's smart as all hell, hot and rich doesn't hurt either. However, the way that he holds himself through out this whole story is what captures my heart.
This story, although a tried and true shifter tale, isn't a plain Jane. We aren't dropped into girl meets guy...love progresses...some twist and bam end of tale. This story actually has a heart that beats long before our two love birds even physically meet. Dreams of each other that span 5 freaking years!!!!
Then there's the creepy ex-husband to deal with and Lord help me I swear if Cade hadn't done something I was totally gonna go wolf on his happy little butt.(Hahahaha Bet he liked that broken arm....but I bet what happen in Vegas really made he life HELL!!!) I was so not on Anna's side. I was a little ticked off on some of those parts...just FYI.
Speaking of Anna...I liked her..I would have LOVED her but the Ex-hubby part ticked me off so she lost brownie points....LOL She wasn't a skinny minnie (Thank you!!!!) she had a heart of gold and you could tell she was meant for Cade...AWESOME!!!
It was such an amazing moment in the book when these two actually met in real life....Ahhhhhhhh
Any whoooo.....
Lots of fun and exciting things (the mob, kidnapping, Vampire, more Paranormals...cool stuff) progress in the pages afterwards ....even her grown son come to visit...Lets just say they take thing pretty well.
Ohhhhh and Cade has brothers that need mates too. One that I can't help but fall for Simon....you'll meet him and so will Anna's bestie.....(Evil Authors....Cause we don't get more til next book!!!! URGH!!!!)

Cade by V.A. Dold is a 2014 self published release.
Now that Anna is free from her terrible husband and eager to start a new life, the jerk follows her to New Orleans. But, he's in for a big surprise and so is Anna. A man named Cade is about to meet his life mate and he will not allow a thing on earth to make her worry, or sad, or afraid.
This book is everyone woman's perfect fantasy!! Anna is in her mid-forties and carrying some extra weight. She has low self esteem after living with a man that cheated on her. Her only relief from those years was in her dreams, where unbeknownst to her, Cade was the man that had given her so much happiness while she was sleeping. Never in her wildest imagination would have thought a man like Cade was even real, much less interested in her. But, in this case dreams really do come true. There is one little hitch... Cade is a shifter. Anna digest this information and then is shocked to learn there are maybe a few things about herself she didn't know... which explains how Cade managed to connect with her in her dreams.
Anna gets a new lease on life and Cade makes all her dreams come true, but Anna doesn't just take what Cade gives, he is so happy and complete now that he has found Anna, but Anna seems to have a way with a member of Cade's family who is really in a dark place. To everyone's delight Anna is able to get a response from him. Cade and Anna have a wonderful partnership and many happy days ahead of them.
I am also partial to novel set in New Orleans. So, that was just a little cherry on top.
If you like shifters, family connections, the perfect alpha, and like to escape into a fantasy that will leave you having sweet dreams of your own, don't miss the first book in this new series!
This one is 4 stars!

You know, I really don't want to be an asshole but I don't understand how anyone who can read above the level of a 3rd grader could ever think this was a good book on any level. I consider any rating above 2 stars as suspect for this "book".

As a rule, I generally don't DNF a book until at least 50% but this one... DNF at 28%. This book was some type of super speed romance where a whole story is condensed into groups of a few sentences then pasted together. It was literally a collection of romance cliche bullet points.

I'm assuming something happens to fill up the remaining 72% of the book but the writing was so awful that I wasn't going to waste my time. At least it was a kindle unlimited and I didn't waste any money on it but I wish I had my 40 minutes back that would have been better spent on clipping my toenails.

Author(?), to be blunt if you haven't gotten the gist yet, don't quit your day job and stop. Just stop.

It seems like when you see two stars that it must be somewhat of a terrible book. But the "it was ok" sums up how I feel about it. I did some skimming and was still able to get the jest of the story. I like the name Cade and he was so delicious to read and get to know. Anna was not that bad of a female character either. I thought she handled herself well.

Rating: R+ (sexual content)
Language: I don't recall any profanity or use of deity
Recommend: *shrugging shoulders* possibly

Anna James lived through a marriage to an untrustworthy man, but she stayed for the sake of her children. Now that her children have gone off to college and begun their own lives, Anna has started a fresh one in New Orleans. She isn't necessarily ready to begin dating again, especially since she has memories of dreams with a mystery man who keeps revisiting her.

Cade Le Beau realized he met his mate six months ago, but she disappeared without a trace and he has regretted it ever since. Imagine his surprise when he shows up at a meeting and she is there. He plans to take the time to court her properly, but with her ex causing problems with the local mob and Anna now having a target on her back, Cade has to find a way to tell her he is a shifter, she is his mate, and hope that she is willing to accept him.

Very fun read. I liked that Anna had a second chance, her husband was a true jerk. Cade once he got hit with the mating bug is adorable, he absolutely cherishes Anna. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.

This is one sexy shifter romance that will keep you on your toes and wanting more. I loved that fact that Anna James is a real women that I can really relate to she’s middle aged she’s a little on the heavy side, she’s not perfect. Anna gets a divorce from her husband because he is abusive and she had found out he was cheating on him, so she picks up everything now that her boys are grown and moves to New Orleans. With an ex-husband following her and even the Mob gets involved things are not looking so great. That is until she meets the man she’s been dreaming of for the last 5 years, that’s about the only thing going right in Anna’s life right now.

Cade Le Beau is a billionaire and that is not the only thing either, He’s also a wolf shifter an Alpha at that, and he will do anything to protect Anna.

If you love Shifter Romance you will love this book. I highly recommend reading it and I can’t wait for book 2 in the series!

2.5 Inoffensive Stars

Anna James having seen her two sons gain lives of their own has finally left her unfaithful and mean husband, she decides it’s time to live for herself and achieve her dreams.

Attractive is a billionaire wolf shifter, who loves a curvy woman and lucky for his mate happens to be a delectably curvy woman, and the woman he has been dreaming about for years. He saw her briefly once but distracted he lost her in the crowd, so when he scents her the second time he makes his way to her, determined to claim and protect his mate. Anna’s ex-husband refuses to stay in the past and tries to cause trouble, what he doesn’t count on is the fierce shifter ready to do anything to protect his mate.

I love a good shifter romance, so when I saw this was a freebie downloaded straight away. The blurb had me thinking this would be a tantalising read, with steam, passion and action but honestly the book lacked depth and energy.

Plus, there were things that had me sighing in displeasure. For example,

Also, despite having dreamed of each other for years, when they get to know each other in person, Anna seems to have no surprise that Cade’s life and family reflect what her dream guy told her!

Well this book is like most of the other paranormals I read it was full of lust, love, mating, fear, aggression and family, which means I should have loved it. I can honestly say I didn't love it, I liked it it's an easy read with happy parts that make you smile and feel grateful but it doesn't give me earth shattering despair or the everlasting love that I'm sure the author wanted me to feel. The characters were great, not fantastic but good enough I felt a connection to them and cared what happened to them, but they still felt predictable two dimensional almost flat sometimes.

Anna was a curvaceous lady as that was made clear in the beginning she was bigger than average and I like that the author went down that route and made her realistic but as the book went on her insecurities were shown to us like most women have but after the dramatic "change" she reverted back to the young slim version of herself from when she was 20 now that for me was dissapointing.

Cade, the descriptions of him every time he was in the story was detailed with muscles abs and I guess that was to make us feel insta-lust for him but for me meh it was hit or miss. I liked his character and how he behaved around Anna especially the way he doted on her so genuinely you felt love then not lust or animalistic sex but actually love. It was cute, cheesy and predictable at times but sweet and beautiful too.

Overall for me this book wouldn't be something I'd go back and read again this was an easy pleasant cute love story with a predictable plot line and a predictable ending, there wasn't too much drama or angst and for me that's why I gave the rating I did, because for me it fell flat.

It's really a 1.5 read, on the border of almost trash-tastic and what-in-the-heck was I thinking. A smidge of a different take on shifters, but nothing really sells it. It's all just so Mary Sue.

It is Anna James’s opinion that men are self-centered and will never love for who she is, a beautiful, plus sized woman, all except for the fantasy man that she’s been meeting in her dreams. Billionaire wolf shifter, Cade is finally blessed with a meeting his fantasy woman and discovers that she is his mate. The heat is on the minute they lay eyes on each other and neither, age, children, horrid ex-husbands, nor mob bosses will stop this love affair.

This shifter romance takes place in a wonderful New Orleans and bayou setting that makes a wonderfully rich and powerful background to the fascinating royal wolf shifters that live there. The characters are strong, captivating and easily draw readers into their world and he romance between Cade and Anna is sweet, sizzles with lots of chemistry and warms the heart. And while the mating is instinct is strong, Cade has to keep her alive long enough to introduce Anna to his world.

The plot is fast paced and keeps readers hanging on to each and every word as personal issues, exes, rogue wolves, and a mob boss do their best to get in the way of this budding relationship. The danger and excitement abounds throughout the story while readers get to know the Le Beau family and the author made the story life like by addressing details that would Anna would face when making decisions regarding taking the next step in this relationship like the ones regarding her sons. Readers can’t help but enjoy this heartwarming, suspenseful and intriguing romance be completely charmed by the Le Beau family.

"Emma, we need to take matters into our own hands or the boy's will never find their mates."

Anna James is a divorced 40 plus year old woman with grown sons who has moved to New Orleans to start over. She has no desire to meet a man other than the man of her dreams. Anna has been dreaming about the perfect shifter for five years and feels that no human could compete.

Cade LeBeau is a wealthy restaurateur who has also been dreaming about a sexy woman for years. And yes, he is a shifter. When Cade "accidentally" meets Anna at a local bar, he is sure that she is his mate.

This was a quick enjoyable read that kept my interest. I was pleased that the author portrays a 45 year old woman as sexy and desirable. Cade has Old World charm that sweeps Anna away. I was a bit surprised that his shifter revelation was accepted without question. I think I would have wanted more information.

Anna's ex-husband was an irritant that I was glad for Cade to deal with. His storyline along with the mob story were almost a background theme compared to the romance of Anna and Cade.

I love the LeBeau family. Isaac and his Romanian wife, Emma just want to see their sons settled with mates. I believe that Anna is a good start.

The story flows nicely and the New Orleans setting makes it luscious. I look forward to reading more.

Honestly? It was boring.

I wanted to like it, because the premise seemed interesting, but the writing was very elementary and the story dragged. There was no excitement, no tension. What few problems there were, were literally solved instantly. The heroine struck me as very Mary Sue, as well.

My biggest problem is that it started SO body positive. The heroine hated her size 16 body, and the hero spends 100% of the first half of the book convincing her how beautiful all her curves are and how he would not want her any other way. How is that body positive? Why would you start to make your heroine confident in herself and then instantly make all her body issues go away because now she's a "proper" size? Awful awful awful.
