It's spooky season, and I read this 44p/~8k novelette. Should you read it? Well, I can say this with confidence:
Out of all the wallpaper-HR gothic novelettes—about a Halloween family curse that turns the MMC into a , that also have age gap, breeding kink, tailplay (double meaning), and ofc non/dubcon between 🩸 siblings... this is the one I'd recommend.
Granted, it's the ONLY one—but I think my point stands.

Sue me. I loved this one.
Over the top and ridiculous but just so delicious 😋
John is overcome with a curse and HAS to have his sister Margaret- yes to this 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 The added secret to the curse was a nice surprise and I wished this was at least novella length.
I am just devouring Rivenhall's books ❤️

Devouring this author’s work like my life depends on it!
This is smut with story and feeling.
Margaret is sent to live with her brother John in this Victorian-era short story. She’s headstrong and unable to conform to societal norms dictating she take a husband and slip into polite society. Surly John is annoyed to have his structured life disrupted by with wild sister. Unbeknownst to both, Margaret’s arrival coincides with the occurrence of the Havisham curse.
What happens next… pure filth as these siblings spiral into a crazy rabbit hole of lust and magic and… more filth.

Margaret is sent to live with her older brother after refusing her 16th male suitor. She's not sure why she keeps refusing potential husbands. She finds herself wondering why they aren't more like her stern, take charge brother. The story takes place the night the Havisham Family Curse gets activated. And what is the curse? A breeding curse that makes her older brother want to breed his sister and also makes him turn into a half-fae creature.
