Ohmygosh I love Tana’s writing so much! This was a quick read, but honestly action packed. I headed in knowing the lay of the land because it picked up where the last one left off, but it is totally readable as a standalone. I loveeeee the emotional connections between main characters in this series, it adds a fun twist. I can’t get enough of this series!

Another fun book about one of the barbarians of the Sand planet. Rixx had jumped from a burning building and awakens to find himself in the care of a woman and her young daughter. They had ministered to his injuries in a “pay it forward” gesture. Myrria, the mother, had not seen nor heard from her husband in years. Her daughter, Zala, had never known her father as she was a baby when he left.
Zala is enamored of Rixx; he being her first male role model. Myrria is not immune to his charms either. They do all in their power to keep him hidden from those searching for him to collect a large reward.
Tobert, Myrria’s long-lost husband returns, forcing Rixx to seek shelter elsewhere. He overhears a snippet of gossip about Tobert which he feels compelled to share with Myrria.
Friends join forces to save Rixx when he is captured. Will Myrria and Zala accompany him when he rejoins the bounty hunters?
Zala is enamored of Rixx; he being her first male role model. Myrria is not immune to his charms either. They do all in their power to keep him hidden from those searching for him to collect a large reward.

Another great story from the Desert Sand Warriors series. An engaging read that follows Rixx and Myrria as they elude capture from the criminal world they find themselves stuck in while waiting for rescue.

Myrria is an incredible woman! Her life hasn’t been easy, especially since her husband abandoned her and her daughter years ago and never returned. But despite all the hardships thrown her way, Myrria remains strong, courageous and resilient. Even more, she’s so compassionate, kind, selfless and has a heart of gold. And she’s an incredible and caring mother, too. Myrria is absolutely amazing and I loved her so, so much!
Rixx is a Dothvek warrior who recently joined the crew of the Bounty Hunter Babes. And he has been through a lot lately. He’s one huge, strong and fiercely protective warrior. Even more, he’s so honorable, considerate, kind and utterly charming and irresistible. Rixx is an incredible male and I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Myrria and Rixx! During the events of the previous book, Rixx is hurt and, afterwards, ends up waking up in an unknown home. Myrria, the kind woman she is, finds the huge warrior on her doorstep and takes him in and, together with her daughter, nurses him back to health. I loved those two together! Their chemistry was fantastic and the attraction was strong right from the start. But with Myrria already married, both were hesitant to act upon their feelings. Nevertheless, Myrria and Rixx were fantastic together! I loved how they helped, understood and supported each other. And Rixx was so wonderful with Myrria’s daughter - Zala! They really tried to stay away from each other and do the right thing, but after some unforeseen discoveries, all bets were off. And when they couldn’t resist the undeniable need for one another, the passionate moments Rixx and Myrria shared were so hot! But with enemies after Rixx and some unexpected twists, tough decisions need to be made. Despite all the challenges they needed to face, Myrria and Rixx were absolutely perfect for each other and, together with sweet, fun and sassy Zala, more than deserved to find happiness, home, family and love together!
Overall, the story is another spectacular addition to the series! It’s filled with suspense, action, danger, twists, humor, drama, smoking-hot passion and amazing characters.
I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every page of it!
And, with that epilogue, I cannot wait to see what happens next!

Swoony and exciting
I loved this fated mates alien-human, single mom, found family romance with a side of danger. This story had the perfect balance of humor, love, real life issues, danger, and spice. I am always a fan of uber protective alpha males being paired with smart brave capable females who need loving more than they need rescuing. This story does that beautifully. Rixx is a Dothvek who recently joined the crew of the bounty hunter babes. While getting supplies on the dangerous planet of Kurrill, he was captured, tortured, and injured in an explosion. Believing him dead, the rest of his shipmates fled the planet. Myrria is a human single mom to Zala. Her husband abandoned her years ago. She finds an injured Rixx on her doorstep and takes him in. Rixx and Myrria’s relationship grows and expands organically as they spend time together while he’s hiding in their home. I loved that Zala was a wonderful and integral addition to the story rather than a flimsy story prop. The story would not have been as rich and well rounded without the full development and inclusion of her character. To get to their HEA, Rixx and Myrria need to avoid the people searching for Rixx, deal with Myrria’s wayward spouse, and learn to trust and embrace a life course correction. Like all books by this author, this well written story was hard to put down and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, good world building, and an engaging storyline. I love this series and the big gold aliens. 4.5 stars.

A slightly less usual situation where the MFC is a single mom in a shitty city. Of course, the MMC has no problem with any of this except that she's supposedly married and “belongs” to someone else. And that dude is a loser who’s been gone for years.
On the one hand, I like how tidy the author is about cleaning up that mess, but on the other, I kind of wanted to see how these two honorable main characters deal with her being trapped in a bad marriage. So many women are stuck is loveless, if not abusive, marriages and they deserve their HEAs too.
Maybe the story of a bunch of bad ass underground women overturning the political and legal system of some corrupt patriarchal shit town so women could actually get out of these situations.... The foundation is already there.
Anyway, the kid is awesome. When the baby daddy shows up in their lives for the first time since she's been born, her comments are priceless.
“The man reeked like sweat and fish.
Once they dropped him in the chair, he rolled his head back and mumbled something about resting his eyes before his mouth fell open and he started to snore.
Zala slid her gaze to her mother, a look of horror on her face. “He can’t be—“
“He is,” Myrria cut her off and turned away. “I was not the same person I am today.”
“Were you blind and noseless?” Zala muttered as she backed away from the smelly, snoring man.”
I love their laughter together right after that too.

Now they face danger everyday and barely have enough food to eat with another mouth to feed.
Rixx can feel emotions from Myrria. Something he shouldn't be able to do unless they're mates. But that's impossible as she's already mated. Will they be able to overcome all the obstacles in their way and survive. Read this book in find out. This book was was full of action and heat. I had to keep reading to find out the ending and see what happens. I love all the books in this series. I highly recommend you read them.

When we last left the story of Rixx who went missing after the rescue of Zaandr and Tegan, when the building collapsed after the fire, we were left to wonder what happened to him. we like to discover that he is rescued by a human female by the name of Myrria who is with her daughter Zala, he is stranded on, Kurril a planet that is dangerous to be found on because a fleet of Zevrians are hunting him and his ship has left without him. This story is exciting and full of drama and action that will have you hanging on your Kindle waiting they rescue and for the happily ever after that is guaranteed for this couple.

Guard is book eleven in the Barbarians of the Sand Planet Series.
This was a fast paced sci fi romance story. Rixx is hiding on a planet and being protected by Myrria while recovering from injuries. He becomes protective of Myrria and her daughter while he is living with them. I loved how caring he was of her and her daughter. He starts to think of them as his, even though there is a father and a husband out there somewhere who has been away for years.
There is some drama involved with some edge of your seat action. A lot of twists and turns keeping you involved with the plot. A page turner at its best.

What a fabulous story. I’m so pleased that Rixx got his happy ever after. He and Myrria were fated right from the start, Myrria’s daughter played a big part in this story too, l loved the way she was written. Myrria had learnt the hard way how to survive and look after herself abd her daughter after her wastrel of a husband had gone looking for riches years earlier. She wasn’t afraid of anything or anyone and was determined to help Rixx even though she knew he was a wanted man. Loved the way this story was written, wonderful characters, wonderful dialogue.

I’m glad Tana got back around to poor Rixx
By some miracle Rixx has survived jumping out of the burning building and made it to the door step of a saint. Myrria is a Good Samaritan who along with her daughter Zala nurse Rixx back to health and keep him hidden from the Zevrians.
These two are drawn together, but Myrria has a MIA husband who has been gone for 6 years almost all of Zala’s life. There are lots of twists and turns before their HEA, and now Myrria and Zala are part of bounty hunter crew.
It was different not having the whole gang around for the adventure but, there is a tease for some to come along with all of Pog’s babies!

This story is no exception to the rule from this author. It is so much fun to read. How this author manages all the different people/creatures from one world to the next totally baffles me.
Strong women, who are full of rightfulness and have big hearts and men with ridges who also have big hearts as well as something else also...
I can just say so earnestly that I loved this story and have a hard time waiting for the next one.

Loved this story. It's another wonderful story I devoured in this series I love reading about. This engaging story is about Dothvek warrior Rixx who was left behind because his comrades thought he was dead and took his ship fleeing and Myrria who's huband left her behind and then later discovers she's pregnant. Myrria and her daughter Zala find Rixx and nurse him back to health. But trouble follows in this engaging story full of wonderful characters, steamy romance, and lots of action in this copy I'd received and volunteer to read and review.

Tana Stone is One off my favorite authors and the sand planet warriors always beings us back to the more RAW Heroes. We know Rixx to be a flirt but he has some very bad tings happening to him and whe he almost does, its a female that saves him and for the first rime he just wants to help to make her happy. He finds true love with Myrria and her Daughter Zala. I loved the underground revolution and how they help so Manny people. So much fun reading about Rixx and how he became a better male.

This was an engrossing read, a bit different from the other Dothvek stories as Myrria is a single mother and Rixx is a playboy.
Rixx was wounded in a rescue mission gone wrong and presumed dead by his crew. Myrria keeps a low profile in the Den of Thieves, trying to protect her daughter, but feels compelled to help him as she was once in need.
A quick read full of action.

Love Conquers All
This was an enjoyable story. It takes place on the planet Kurill. Rixx was thought to have died in a fire on the planet, and his fellow Dothveks left after having searched everywhere for days. Rixx had been found unconscious and nursed back to health by a human woman, Myrra. I loved this story. I liked the idea of brothels really being part of an underground that saves women from horrible fates. I hope that we get to see some of the new characters in the story get a series of their own.
This was an enjoyable story. It takes place on the planet Kurill. Rixx was thought to have died in a fire on the planet, and his fellow Dothveks left after having searched everywhere for days. Rixx had been found unconscious and nursed back to health by a human woman, Myrra. I loved this story. I liked the idea of brothels really being part of an underground that saves women from horrible fates. I hope that we get to see some of the new characters in the story get a series of their own.

Love Tana Stone’s Barbarians of the Sand Planet series of which Guard belongs! Last we read the group of human/ Dothvek Barbarian bounty hunters left a n outlaw planet thinking Rixx had died in an explosion. Nope! A single mom and her daughter saved him and nursed him back to health, hiding him from the local baddies all the while! Rixx and Myrria find love and band together with a few badass women to get the little family to their shipmates! Love the characters, steam, and action!

We're back on Kurril with Rixx! His story was amazing and so engaging. I could not get enough of Rixx, Myria, and Zala. Great dynamic, lots of action and growth among the characters. The build up to the romance was perfect and fit well with rest of the series. Loved being able to interact with other characters on Kurril from the previous book. The resistance strikes again! Now I can't wait to read what happens next.

A bounty hunter ship has to land on a lawless planet after developing a fuel leak. When two of the male alien warriors go to the market for supplies, one of them is captured by another alien race. A human female living on the planet is a seamstress who lives with her young daughter. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens to everyone. Plenty of twists and turns in this story. Happy reading!

Another amazing heartfelt read. There's nothing like paying it forward, especially when it involves a hunky male who treats you and your daughter with such affection. An unexpected turn of events puts a spin on this less than idyllic world.
This is a quick paced read with some wonderful kick ass females. That cliff hanger, though 🤔. Intriguing

This book is interesting. I’ve never read an alien romance before and it was definitely different from my usual reads. I enjoyed the unabashed affection Rixx had towards Myrria and the love he even held for her daughter, Zala. I think Zala was my favorite character, with her spunkiness. It was a good book, not sure if I would read more of the series but maybe.

Rixx and Myrrias story from the Barbarians of the Sand Planet series. It’s a fantastic sci fy romance that’s exciting suspenseful intriguing adventurous, romantic action, pact story. I loved Rixx he’s protective strong possessive and sweet and a wonderful character. It’s a captivating and entertaining story that I loved reading.

I can not believe that I'm up to the 11th book. I cannot wait till the next one.
I have enjoyed Tana's stories from book one, page one.
Its all about finding love, family (not blood related), goid guys verses bad guys, sci-fi universe.
All together makes a great story.

Myrria had a rough life. Pregnant and abandoned she had to provide for her daughter in a dangerous place. Rixx saved his friend but was left for dead. This is a story of passing it on and by doing so, reaping even more rewards. There is danger around every corner, but there are also bits of laughter, feelings of accomplishment and an awareness of seemingly potential possibilities.

Rixx is left for dead by his crew on an outlaw planet. He is clinging to life when Myrria stumbles upon him nursing him back to health. She has had a hard life- pregnant and abandoned, she must protect her daughter on a hostile planet. A wonderful and engaging story. I couldn’t get enough of this story.

Back to the Dovthvek world again, and I'm loving it.
Rixx,s story had me hooked. Fantastic action packed suspenseful storyline with fantastic characters and great world building and plenty of twists and turns. Plus some hints on what to look forward to.
I had to read the previous book again to remind myself about what happened, but that's not really a hardship.
