★★★★! Blyss, book 1 of 3. Heiress is kidnapped by master-manipulator Nick to be his, but training into submissiveness will be done by “stonewalled” Travis with the help of the aphrodisiac Blyss!

“You’re my forever. I’ve wanted you from the first moment I laid eyes on you. I’ve been watching your every move for years, strategically planning.”

Books in The Blyss Trilogy should be read in order:
Book 1: Blyss
Book 2: Blyssful Lies
Book 3: Blyssfully Undone

Blyss (book 1) starts off with heiress and Junior College student Julianna Oakley, Jules saying goodbye to her fiancé before heading home for the summer to spend time with her father. Losing her mother at a young age tied her to her father, but in her pre-teen years her father’s attention was replaced by his staff and security team and boarding school.

Story then skips forward to one night towards the end of her summer when Julianna wakes up to shouting and ends up kidnapped by the Blyss operation. The story goes onto follow Julianna as she learns of her fate and adjusts to a life in captivity. Here are the basics:

The Blyss operation headed by master manipulator Nick Palcini has taken her to be trained into a submissive and kept as his “forever”. More on his obsession to unfold with story.

Blyss is a revolutionary aphrodisiac; a drug cocktail carefully configured to achieve the outmost in turning the woman into submissive nymphomaniacs.

Travis Jackson aka Stonewall Jackson is part of the Blyss operation and Nick’s right-hand man. He is tasked with training Julianna in the art of BDSM and becoming a compliant mate to Nick.

With Travis and Julianna spending time together a bond is formed. Julianna is torn between lust and hate. She knows that the drugs are partly responsible for attraction to Travis, but there is something more, deeper. Travis shows signs of being conflicted in his sudden need to protect his captive and charge.

But their connection does not go unnoticed and suspicion is cast. Travis and Julianna find themselves in a dangerous situation as loyalties are questioned and emotions and jealousy gets the upper hand. It’s a carefully organized game with hints of darker forces, a bigger purpose and long-spanning cause that will slowly unfold throughout their story…

Eight words to describe Julianna Oakley, Jules: Stubborn, naïve, independent, reflective, feisty, conflicted, impressionable and innocent.

 photo BF1 H1 Bs by sb_zps62hlkqek.gif

What works in Travis Jackson aka Stonewall Jackson favor is that even though he is ruthless and part of the team that has kidnapped Julianna, in spending time with her he quickly develops and shows protectiveness with her. However this will likely put him in danger being torn between his loyalty to his boss, Nick, the team and task and the connection and attraction he feels towards Juliana.

 photo BF1 H2 Bs by sb_zpscyudqgui.gif

What works in Nick Palcini favor is indeed his ruthlessness and determination to have Julianna and any cost and whoever stands in his way may God be with them…. If nothing else he would make for an excellent anti-hero.

Blyss is the unfolding of a mystery. It offers a little of everything; intrigue, deceit, mystery, villains, triangle, sexual tension, smut with hints of much more to come. It’s a well-written debut, which reads a good pace, but at times it was a little too “wordy”. Story ends with a worrisome cliffty be continued in, book 2, Blyssful Lies .

Interesting plot concept with potential! Two compelling and ruthless heroes! Sexual tension, danger and intrigue overload! An excellent debut by J.C. Cliff!

“I’ve been transported to some fucked-up sexual mad scientist’s lab. This can’t be real; there is no possible way these men can claim they’re sane.”

3.15 stars.

I really somehow ended up enjoying and flying through this book despite the fact it has a horrible love triangle between two dumb and horny men.

Juliana is abducted from her fathers home and forced to be a captive of the powerful and dominating Nick who is obsessed to make her his. He gives her a drug called "Blyss" that will make her so sexual and lustful and a perfect submissive for his kinky plays in the bedroom. Juliana is a fighter though and she ain't letting this dickhead touch her which is why Travis, Nick's handyman has the job to train her to be Nick's perfect little pet. But Travis starts developing feelings for her when he knows he can't have her. Dun dun dun.

◇Meet Juliana aka Ms. Perfect:
●She's beautiful
●She has lovely locks of blonde hair
●All the boys with tough hearts who don't settle down with woman LOVE her
●She's gorgeous
●She has lovely blue eyes
●Her sent is intoxicating

●"Baby you're made for me"
●"BITCH DON'T FUCK WITH ME IMMA END YOU" ????

What do people see in the Dark…books, I mean?

I have just finished a book that I absolutely hated….loved…hated…loved?????? I gave it 4 stars – WTH?!?! It was really well thought out with a very interesting idea that took shape in a sick, horrible fashion. Seriously, what do people see in these stories. There was no lightness, love and care shown. When there was the mirage of care given, in my head, I couldn’t focus on the words or the actions. All I could think about was how we got to this horrible, messy place and how can people not see the manipulation of mind and body for the perversion it was. I could not look at any of the “carers” with anything but disgust.I made myself read this book to step out of my comfort zone. I can honestly say that I want to go back to my hearts and flowers. I want my hero’s eyes to be filled with love instead of manipulation, and the tears in the heroines eyes are from joy and not from humiliation and misery. Will I go on in this trilogy? I am curious to see what will happen next, but I may be reading with one eye open. I don’t like what is hidden behind the curtain and I don’t think Julianna is that keen on it either.Maybe this was the best way to step out of my comfort zone? Maybe I should go on and hope for the best? Maybe there is a Happy Ever After Hero for Julianna, but I don’t think I have met him yet. But if I have met him, he better stop messing around and step up to the plate!!!

Thank you J C Cliff for the complimentary copy of your first book and know that it was a very good way to step out of my comfort zone.

Julianna

Meet the beautiful Julianna. I know
she's beautiful because I'm told on repeat throughout the story and with more adjectives than I ever thought could possibly exist. Lest I forget how she really does "look every part of a princess straight from a storybook" and the many times I'm told of her "long blonde hair."

Her character is designed to be this warring cake mix of:

• naive twit and virginal girl
• emo fighter and wanton woman
• sensible thinker

The problem is her personality cake batter didn't ever get mixed. All these traits never coherently blend or transition in and out smoothly. It makes the FMC a spastic mess with a lot of contradicting thoughts.

Of course, she should be confused somewhat by being kidnapped and told she's a sex toy in training. BUT, this goes beyond confusion to just unbelievable personality swings ...

One minute she's mouthing off and kicking people like she's not being held as a sex slave... The next minute she's starved for attention like a wanton woman... The next minute she's ingeniously discarding her drugs... And the next she's crying like a dumb twit cause the bad guy really is bad.

Likewise, some of these personality swings can be attributed to the aphrodisiac drugs they forced on her. But, it's unbelievable that a drug to be TAKEN TWICE A DAY & that she only had a couple of doses of over a two week period is completely to blame for her spastic behavior, especially considering she says shit like this before she's even given the drug:

"Your lips look very dry. You must be thirsty." It was a statement, and he was not asking if I wanted a drink. He didn't give me a choice. I find a straw resting on my lips in an instant. "Take small sips for me." Who am I to say no? Oh, my God, what is wrong with me?

Being taken by strange men and waking in a strange place with no answers is beginning to upset me.

I guess I should be thankful they are being nice criminals and not evil ones.

The poor guy had spent the last twenty-four hours taking care of me.

What I need to do is find a way out of here and not let myself become preoccupied with decor, fabrics, and paintings.

Nick MMC #2

Runs a sex trade that uses aphrodisiac drugs to tame women.

He has been obsessed with the FMC from afar for years. He kidnaps her. The FMC now belongs to him, but since he has anger issues, he's leaving the breaking of the FMC to his charming associate, Travis.

Nick's screen time here is small.

Travis MMC#1

The first thing I notice is that his few POV chapters sound like a cross between a horrible Shakespearean actor that can't quite get out of character offstage and a 45-year-old woman.

He calls the FMC's boyfriend a "young man."

He waxes poetically....

In my mind's eye, I remember she had the look of love permeating through every bone in her petite body"

His voice is better at 'sounding male' in her chapters, which make up most of the book.

However, even then, his dialogue is very stilted and stiff, spending most of his words as either the nice guy 'shhhhush's' and 'trust that I have you' OR the dirty talking charmer.

He also does not make a very believable sex trafficker. I just didn't get it. He's cuddling, coddling, and pleasuring her. I thought he was supposed to be breaking her?!? Teaching her how to be a submissive? Dude isn't even putting up a pretense of filtering her, much less breaking her, until the very end of the book.

It felt like the author was going for Disney'fying a sex trafficker. The character just didn't work for me.

However, I think a lot of readers who are looking for candy coated dark tales (dark subject that's whitewashed) will absolutely love this guy and the storyline.

Sex spoiler

Blyss

This plot point is what originally drew me to this book. I've never read this particular storyline elsewhere.

I was kind of torn on this drug thing. It was a very interesting concept, but it wasn't explored and presented well.

She didn't take much of the drug, and because she would have the urges and then mentally squash the shit when she was alone, it made the whole excuse of the drug being to blame for her connect with Travis and lust nothing but an excuse for wanting to fuck the hot sex trafficker.

FSOG

In her captivity, the FMC reads FSOG. Need I roll my eyes?!?

Anyway, as she's reading it, she has this thought:

"I have to remind myself this is the reason they call it fiction; it's all a farce, meant to provide people with one thing only .. Entertainment.

This is the third time I've seen this thought from the author, and I couldn't disagree more.

I read books to feel, whether that be sadness, happiness, lust, anger, empathy, love, confusion, etc . Books for me are not mindless entertainment where it's okay to completely abandon the truths of logic for pure fantasy.

In other words, no one is going to buy some BS like a virgin has a 2L bottle of soda shoved up her vagina and thinks it feels good. Even fiction has to be grounded in truths, or as Stephen King said....

"Fiction is the truth inside the lie."

Bottom Line

Mindless entertainment? Success.

I'll give it 1 1/2 stars for that.

But, if you're looking for depth, darkness, dimension, even kink ... This doesn't deliver.

It's an interesting premise that overall fails to deliver a storyline and characters congruent with the dark subject of sex slave. The MMC is too whitewashed and bleached to be believable as a sex trafficker. The FMC is too spastic for me to get a handle on how she feels, much less how I feel about how she feels. Again, those lucky for a candy coated dark romance will probably like this much better than I did.

*** Full disclosure: I downloaded this book on my Kindle hours before finding out that this author engaged in very unprofessional behavior toward a reviewer. Like an athlete and their socks or jock strap, I have one superstition regarding my Kindle... If I download it, I have to at least try to read it. I say this because I want readers and the author to know that this review is fair, honest, & unbiased by the aforementioned incident.

4.5 'intoxicating' stars

Damn. This book had me so engrossed from the beginning until the end. When I read the blurb, it instantly reminds me of Captive in the Dark by CJ Roberts. A story about an innocent girl got captured and train to be a submissive. However, the tone of the book is very much different. Blyss isn't as dark or as kinky as The Dark Duet.

Julianna Oakley, the rich girl who lead a perfect life. She had a doting fiance, a bachelor degree and a powerful father. Little did she know that she was targeted by the elusive owner of an underground sex trafficking ring.

Nick is the head honcho of the operation. He is a domineering, narcissist and delusional prick of epic proportion. The way he is fantasizing about his perfect 'princess' and their perfect HEA make me think he is sick. He want Julianna and he want to own her body and soul. His only obstacle is to make her pliant to his needs.

Travis is Nick's right hand man and submissive trainer. He is the master manipulator that provide a fake security comfort for the girls. He seems like a caring, patient man at times, but can be harsh and controlling in the next moment. I can't wrap my head around Travis' motivation. I need to crack into his well crafted wall surrounding his true nature.

Right from beginning, we watched Julianna Oakley got stripped away from her perfect life and thrown into the sadistic Nick's clutch. As she battled for her survival, she got to know Travis intimately, seeking comfort he offer. But when the table is turn and the men show their true nature, will Julianna able to survive and outwit them?

I simply love this feisty heroine. I read a lot of captive story and Julianna really stood out with her quick wit and smart mouth. I find myself enjoying her dilemma, her outburst, her uncontrollable lust towards her captors. I'm so rooting for her.

Blyss is a perfect start for a captivating and suspenseful trilogy. I need to read Blyssful Lies next to see how will Julianna going to survive Nick while Travis no longer running the interference. Things are going to get interesting for sure.

An Interesting And Unique Kidnapping Story

I enjoyed this story, although it wasn't nearly as dark as the blurb would have you think. You'll be disappointed if you're expecting lots of sex, or any for that matter. It just doesn't happen. However, there were plenty of steamy scenes and the story was intriguing.

Julianna is taken from her father's mansion and told that she is now "owned" by Nick, a man she finds both handsome and terrifying. He's been watching her for years, waiting for the right moment to take her. Early on, Julianna glimpses the aggressive, dominant side of Nick when she provokes his anger.

Afraid of what her new life has in store for her, Julianna finds comfort in the unlikeliest of persons, her trainer, Travis. Although she knows she shouldn't be attracted to her captor, she can't fight it. She senses a protectiveness in his nature and feels safe with him. She wants to trust him and act on her growing attraction to Travis, but he makes it clear that she doesn't belong to him. He intends to hand her over to Nick as soon as her training is complete.

I didn't get bored or lose interest at any point, for each piece of information provided, I only wanted to know more. There is so much that still remains shrouded in mystery. What exactly is Julianna's father's relationship with Nick? What makes Nick so powerful and is there something more to his obsession with Julianna?

The dynamics change drastically at the end of this book. I cannot wait to see where this story will lead. I anticipate that the next book will give us more of Nick's background and see him interacting more frequently with Julianna. I'm curious to see what develops between the two, if anything.

BEWARE OF Blyss!!! This book may cause you hot flashes!! You will also experience a bundle of mixed and contradictory emotions. It's so wrong but so right!! It had me hooked from the beginning. The subject matter is dark but the book is not. It reads like a romantic suspense thriller with erotica thrown in!

Poor Julianne has been stalked and taken away from everyone she loves. She's been taken, held captive and drugged up on the ultimate aphrodisiac, a drug called Blyss. It turns women into the perfect companion and submissive. She is being trained for the leader in this business, Nick. He's been obsessed with her for years. Nick comes off as an evil, egotistical, selfish bastard. Thinking Julianna is his. He may think he knows everything about her but he did not realize how resilient she is. She will not go down without a fight. She has a lot of self preservation and will. But how long can she hold onto herself and sanity???

Julianna's only hope seems to be Nick's partner Travis. He shows Julianna comfort and kindness. The minute you are introduced to Travis, you are drawn to him. He's not only classy and charming but gorgeous. He knows how to handle the ladies. His connection with Julianne is so evident. Sparks fly and passion ignites. Holy hotness!!! But are their feelings real?? Feelings or not, Travis knows she isn't his to take. You know you should hate him and all that he stands for... but you can't, it's like you are drugged up and helpless also. Falling in love with a criminal. Like I said, so wrong but so right!!! Is Travis showing his true colors or just what he wants Julianna to see???

Julianna finds herself is a precarious situation with no way out! Trapped, alone and scared. Should she just give in or fight for her freedom???

I was engrossed in this book. It was hard to put down. It will leave you wanting more and dying to know the out come. It's has a great flow with not one dull moment. It's hard to believe it is a debut book because it is written so well with such an ease...... I can not wait to get my hands on book 2!!

Edited, spoiler free review. Five Blyssful stars! Smart, sexy, different!
J.C. Cliff is a talented author. I am learning patience when it comes to cliffhangers, because I feel some of them are worth the wait, and this is one of them! Book 2 from The Blyss Trilogy, Blyssful Lies, will be out soon. I just visited Cliff’s Goodreads author page, and it has just made it back from the editor! I am so excited!
Blyss is the story of what happens to Julianna Oakley when she is kidnapped and drugged with a newly developed drug, called Blyss. It is designed by very sinister men, who seek more money than they could ever spend, and power. Imagine the kind of power men could have if women would just remember their place. The right amount of Blyss and they are wanton, pliable, appreciative. There is more to the story, but that’s why you have to read it!
The characters are so well developed. Julianna is one hell of a fighter! I love that about her. Travis and Nick are both psychopaths, it seems. Travis is complicated. I wonder about him, and you will too. Travis is Nick’s right hand man and Nick has been, and is obsessed with Julianna. Nick is also an ugly brand of crazy. The kind of crazy that would have him destroy her before he would let her make a fool out of him.
Blyss was fast paced and exciting, and I highly recommend it to those that like romance with an edge!

I can not wait for everyone to read this debut novel by the incredibly talented JC Cliff. The storyline was completely original and like no other I have read before. The character development is so well written that it pulls you into their journey...feeling every emotion. You will love the heroine Julianne. She is a feisty, smart mouthed, spitfire that is bad ass! Her determination to survive and her tenacity to gain her freedom will keep you rooting for her at every turn of the page. Then there is Travis. Oooooh Travis...(fanning myself...insert sigh). Travis is intense, HOT, sexy, and has a dirty mouth that will set YOUR heart racing with excitement. Alpha male at its best! I AB. SO. LUTE. LY LOVED this book and CAN NOT wait for more of Julianne and Travis. Book 1 will definitely leave you begging for more!!!

** JOSIE's 4.5 STAR REVIEW **

First I want to start my review with a “Holy H***z Bellz” what a ride! J.C. Cliff completely took me on an emotional journey of ups and downs (crying, screaming, swooning and got my panties wet). When I got my hands on Blyss and started reading I literally could not put it down. I absolutely loved every aspect of this book. I am still not sure who I hate and who I love because if I have to be honest, the men in the story are kind of hot. All the characters in this story had me captivated. Each one had a special part in this story that I was completely invested in them. This is a lighter side of a dark read. The author did a great job in writing the subject matter in a way that made me nervous, excited and it was not overdone.

Julianne Oakley is a very sweet and innocent girl, a junior in college and is engaged to the love of her life, Adam (AND SHE IS A VIRGIN). Her father is the CEO of a company who is a rich and powerful. She hasn’t been home in a while to visit her father He wants to throw her a big birthday party and spend time with her. A couple days short of her birthday she over hears her father has not been paying back a loan he took out and as payment, they want Julianne. Julianne is taking forcibly from her home and is held captive and will be trained to become a sex slave. Jules is a strong character, a fighter and will fight for her freedom. Just when I thought, I would count Jules out she would come back kicking and fighting, she refused to be broken and used by her captors.

When she awakens, she is met with Travis. He is kind, caring and gentle with Jules. Travis’ character is hard to pin down. His role in this story is to train her for his boss Nick. But damn it, I wanted him, I could not see him as a bad guy. You can tell by the way the author wrote the scenes between Travis and Jules that they had a connection and an intense sexual chemistry. Whenever they were together it was explosive. I had a hard time remembering he was helping to keep her captive and supposed to be training her.

“I need you to trust me, I’ve got you, okay?”

“Believe it or not, that was f****** hot, and your naked tits heaving under me, are turning me on. You’re so god*** beautiful when you come. You look like an angel.”

Nick is clearly creepy, crazy and a stalker. He is obsessed with Jules and has been watching her for years. He knows Jules is special and believes she was meant to be his. I know HE IS LIKE THE BAD GUY HERE, but (shoot me if you want) I liked him. His character is tough but when it comes to Jules he has a caring side. This is what I meant when I said the author wrote this book in a way that I really do not know who REALLY is the bad guy in this book. His character would say and do things that would make me feel all warm and fuzzy.

“I’m imagining your sexy body bound in restraints, writhing with wanton desperation, screaming out my name for a release you have yet to comprehend. Oh, baby, you will be mine. Make no mistake-you will want me, and you’ll beg me to take you soon enough when you find out just how big my d*** is. Yes, Princess, I will own your body, your mind, and your soul and never forget – I always get what I want.”

The more time Travis spends with Jules, the more he becomes enamored with her. The problem is Jules is Nicks, and Nick is observing Travis’ reactions to his “Princess”. Ok, so this is some crazy stuff, they both want Jules and hmmmm I know I should not feel like this because they stole her and blah blah blah, but BAM we got DRAMA!!

“I’m sure I don’t have to remind you, Travis, that when you work with her today, you’re breaking her for me.”

“What’s that supposed to mean, Nick?”

“It means I’ve been watching you, I see the way you’ve been kissing her and I don’t like it. I’d hate for you to see what my jealous streak is capable of.”

“I’m well-aware of your capabilities and you are aware of mine.”

This book was written well, it flowed perfectly and there was never a point in the story that I felt disconnected. It literally blew me away. I am still trying to figure out which one of these men is truly the bad buy. This is a trilogy. Was I disappointed in the way it ended? No I was not. I am anxious to get my hands on the next book. There are a couple of WTF moments that happen and when I finally figured out where Blyss came from I was stunned – LIKE DUN DUN DUN – stunned. I want to see what will happen next and how this story plays out. I am not sure how things will play out with Travis, Nick and Jules but I am banking on things getting steamy, and Jules giving into more her desires more. The question is to who?

This book may well prove that I am a sociopath.

Jules is kidnapped from her home, taken to a location where she is to be drugged with a revolutionary aphrodisiac called Blyss and trained to be a kinky Stepford Wife for Nick.

“ I’m talking about achieving stable subservience, becoming a dutifully subdued, unassertively-passive, and delightfully submissive female. Think back centuries ago, when a woman knew her place. She was made to serve man, but then the women’s rights movement came along and made a mess of things.”

Travis is meant to be her trainer but quickly develops feelings for Jules. Nick is obsessed with Jules and realises that Travis’ behaviour goes well beyond his duty. Feelings of possessiveness and jealousy abound from both sides. Jules wonders at her feelings for Travis but who can really be trusted?

Welcome to a love triangle on steroids.

I wanted to start fan-fiction while reading this, in which I was a captive and had all the sex right before killing everyone in creative ways.

What this book did really well was make you feel Jules’ strange feels. You know you should be disgusted, you know you should be scared but yet you aren’t. Almost as if you had been drugged yourself. Maybe that’s why I found it hard to feel any sympathy for Julianna (am I a sociopath?) and her worries about whether her oatmeal originates from a wheat free factory, or maybe it was because at first I found her rather annoying.

As the book progresses though, more and more secrets are alluded to, Jules becomes feisty and gets a smart mouth and I finally liked her.

“ Wouldn’t want your willy to wither, not on account of some period blood anyway.”

This is a great premise for a book but I didn’t find it to be all that dark (am I a sociopath?!). At times it felt like a romantic comedy (am I a sociopath?!).

“ Fine, if he wants my snot, he can have it.”

Nick was the only character making me feel anything close to actual disgust and anger (AM I A SOCIOPATH?!). There was plenty of angsty, hot anticipation and yummy sexy times - I do so love a good dry humping.

As a whole I’m only giving this book 3 stars as it failed to make me feel a whole lot of extreme emotions as I’ve come to expect from dark romances and most of the good stuff only started happening after the second half of the book. This was a great set-up for the rest of the series and I’m sure I’ll get to it, sometime, when I feel like it.

For as many dark romances as there are, there are readers talking about dubious consent, rape and abuse. I won’t be doing that though as I trust you’re sane enough to separate fantasy from reality and intelligent enough to remember your safe word.

So, here’s a bunch of pictures of cover model, Colin Wayne.

“The overwhelming feeling of needing to hump something has me going out of my mind…. Hmnn, I look around the room. Will a water bottle work? TV Remote? Shit…”

So what am I supposed to write with whatever the hell is this?

I fuckig hate this book. Its like I just waste 4 hours of my life reading this crap. But believe me I so badly want to drop this book but with my OCD kicking in, I just thought that it may bother me a lot to have not able to finish a book when I'm more than halfway.

This is total bullshit. The characters have very contrasting personalities. Poor characterization.

The heroine was a stupid virgin girl who was really like a bitch in heat, even without the drugs on.

And the mention of Fifty shades and Grey. Wtf is that? A lot of pages was wasted on going over or maybe reviewing FSoG that its just so stupid to read in a book.

And the way its written. The herione's POV is just like her talking yo herself in anothet level. And her monologues always had 'shit' word in it that it felt so wrong reading it. i mean hearing someone say shit frequently does not bother me but reading it? Nope.felt so wrong.

Gad. I hated this book.

Whats with the high ratings?

This book was given to me for an honest review.
I never would have chosen this kind of book. I usually avoid kidnapping books and find the idea of a story about this unappealing.
This book is more in every direction.
The erro chemistry that is developed and the angst that happens between the characters is gripping and had me turning pages so fast I dint realize I was at the end until I was. The story has you rooting for both sides and isn't that strange.
It is not a straight forward story and I just love that. I was trying to predict where the story was going but honestly the suspense and sexual chemistry in this book make this book a 5!

Original story. It can be considered a dark read. The author described it as “grey”.
Julianna’s father is a very rich man. One day, Julianna hears her father arguing and next she is kidnapped by Nick and his crew. Nick is in possession of a powerful aphrodisiac drug known as Blyss. Nick has been obsessed with Julianna for a long time and finally has her to make her his submissive. Nick right hand man is Travis who is responsible to make Julianna the perfect submissive for Nick. Travis has trained other girls to be the perfect sub, but Julianna is the first one that Travis has taken a special interest in.

There was a lot of inner dialogue that felt repetitive. I am not sure what to think of Julianna. She is a very rich girl but has never felt she lived the lifestyle of the rich girl. Even though the author explained this in the book, I just found Julianna a bit whiney and a pain. There was something about her that even though she said she never wanted to be called a “princess” except by her father, I felt like she acted like one.

Finally in the last 90% the story picked up. The first good part of the book was Jules trying to figure out what was going on and her interaction with Travis. Nothing really happened. I was a little bored because except for a few “issues” things could not have been more accommodating for Julianna.

A copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

****** I Love Story Time was gifted an ARC in exchange for an honest review ******

OH.MY.GOSH!!!!!!!

I can't stop saying it!!! O-M-G!!!!! Just finished this book and my finger nails are GONE!!!! I LOVED this story and I don't care if something is wrong in my head. I seriously needed Book 2 YESTERDAY!!! J.C Cliff, you just took me on a roller coaster of emotions. Seriously..... I just don't even know where to start! I have all these thoughts in my head about this story that I can't even think straight while writing this review...LOL!! So bare with me if I do not make any sense!! Where to start...

Let's just say, once I started I seriously could not put it down. I kept telling myself one more chapter....ok just one more...but then, it turned out being so many more chapters! I started last night and I only got 3 hours of sleep and then today at work I didn't do a dang thing, I couldn't put it down!! (Shhh... don't tell anyone) Every single character in this story grabbed my attention from the start. Each one had their individual roles that were so demanding and I loved every one of them!

Julianne Oakley comes from a very powerful family. In the beginning of the story her father is in the middle of a business deal that goes wrong. So as payment, Julianne gets kidnapped and is held in a basement at a prestigious hotel in Atlanta. Julianne wakes up and is trying to figure out what is going on. Once she realizes that she is going to be held against her will and be trained as a sex slave, all hell brakes loose! I Loved her character! She is a feisty, smart mouthed, spitfire that is bad ass! Her determination to survive and her tenacity to gain her freedom will keep you rooting for her at every turn of the page.....

"I am Julianne Oakley and I have not yet begun to fight."

This girl does not give up!! She does not care what the outcome will be for any of her resistance! She fights till the end and says what she wants regardless of the consequence......

"Oh, Nick," I say seductively but sarcastically, mimicking his previous tone, "you are most definitely a horse's ass; you even taste like you've fucked one. The only type of ass you can probably get, by the way....or are you a goat-fucker? The only arrangement I understand is me ripping your piss-ant balls off when you least expect it!"

Seriously one of my favorite quotes!!

Julianne soon finds out that she will not only be fighting against her captive, she will also be fighting against her body. It just so happens that the people responsible for Julianne's abduction, are also responsible for the development of a very important drug that is used on women against their will.....

....-an illegal drug, a substance in which our genius scientist, Jared, helped create. He'd been working on finding the most perfect-yet-sage illicit drug to use on women as an aphrodisiac...only more. The product of all the research, reformulations, and experimentation, had finally resulted in what is now called.....BLYSS.

Once Blyss is in your system you no longer have control over your own body. It makes you feel so euphoric that it only makes you want more. And who better to get you aroused then..... Travis.

Oooooh Travis... Travis is intense!! He is one HOT, tortured, bad ass with a dirty mouth that will set YOUR heart racing with excitement. Alpha male at its best! I guess that is why he has the job he has... as a submissive trainer.....

"It's my job to teach these women. I get them to live for the next euphoric, seismic release, the next big O, the next kinky adventure. Once they give in to their body's natural desires, I then train them to enjoy the individual proclivities of their future owner. By the time I'm done, these women are literally begging for whatever kink their new master likes.

(Biting my fingernails, but would like to sign up. LOL)

Travis brings so much to this story. Yes, he is bad. But you can't help but to fall in love with him. He is seriously the whole package. The fact that he is bad draws you in! He can sound so soft and calm one second, but then be a coldblooded killer the next. He definitely has a past that has made him put up some walls and I can't wait to find out what happened to him. Although, Julianne stirs up feelings that Travis never thought he would experience again. He knows that he has to fight his feelings because he has a job to do, and Julianne is already spoken for by..... Nick.

Nick is the head of the operation. Nick has had an obsession with Julianne since the first time he laid eyes on her. He has planed her kidnapping to the "T" and when he got his chance, he did not hesitate to make her his. He had to have her and didn't care who Julianne's father was. Nothing was going to get in his way...not even her personal body guard Jake. I felt so bad for Julianne and the way that Nick treated her. He had no issues with showing her that he is the boss and that she belonged to him and no one else.....

"He's the cat, and I'm the injured mouse"

There were so many parts where Nick had me shaking!!! My heart rate was skyrocketing the minute he stepped into the room. He made me feel like I was the one on pins and needles!

I'm sure you can already tell by my review how much I enjoyed this book. So, DO NOT ALLOW another minute to pass before getting your copy! 1-Click NOW!! I'm looking forward to reading Book 2 and finding out all the unanswered questions...the trigger that started Nick's obsession with her all those years ago...why he hand picked her and what's the connection to Julianne's father. All I can say about the end is I am so nervous for Julianne and I hope by the time I get my hands on it, my nails would have already grown out!! Definitely a 5+++ Star read!!

I want to give you a warning. For those of you who are into dark reads like I am, this one is a little different. It isn't a dark read like you are used to. Yes, it has darkness but just keep that in mind while you read.

In the first book of Blyss the author has done a tremendous job of setting the scene for the following books to come in this trilogy. You will be left wondering many things, but believe me it is worth it because the truth always comes out in the end.

The first person you meet in Blyss is Julianna a.k.a. Jules, she is the daughter of a rich, powerful man and he demands that she comes to visit for a few months over the summer. He has planned an extravagant 21st birthday party for her. She leaves her fiancé, Adam and goes on a visit that she will NEVER, EVER forget.

"Lance, you don't seem to comprehend what I'm saying here; I have my orders from the boss. One week is seven days too long, and the time has come. We're taking Julianna, and we're taking her tonight. I don't need your fucking permission. The boss wants her, and he wants her now. He always gets what he wants." -unknown man

She is taken from her father's home to an unknown location with people she assumes she has never met before. This is where she meets Travis and Nick. Travis is the one to "train" her, Nick's right hand man. Nick is the one that wants her and will have her.

Travis is the first person that she sees and actually has a slight attraction to, even though she's scared out of her mind, she gravitates towards him. It also helps that the man is drop dead gorgeous with emerald green eyes and deep, dark brown hair. Swoon! But let's not lose our minds already by letting our hormones get the best of us. She learns that she has been given the ultimate aphrodisiac that turns women into the perfect companion and submissive. This could be why she has this attraction with Travis, her safe keeper. In the back of her mind she is questioning why is she feeling this way when she is engaged to someone else. Has she completely lost her damn mind?

Nick stalks into her room and immediately she's afraid of him. His very presence seems to reek of authority and arrogance.

"What's the matter, Princess? You don't seem as rambunctious as you did last night. Surely you haven't given up the will to fight. I live for girls who misbehave. I love the naughty ones." -Nick

"I sit here mute and frozen before him. I think the lion is toying with his prey, beating it back and forth; he's the cat, and I'm the injured mouse." - Jules

"I'm getting hard just thinking about my handprint on your bare ass as your pussy is helplessly spread wide open while you're chained to my saltire." - Nick

"Will they cut me so deep mentally I will wind up having irreversible scar tissue on my soul? Will I be unable to ever fully heal should I get out of this alive?" - Jules

"Oh baby, you will be mine. Make no mistake - you will want me, and you'll beg me to take you soon enough when you find out just how big my dick is. You won't be able to help it. Blyss will make it uncontrollable. I can't wait to hear you scream out in pleasure, pleading for me to put my cock in orifices you never knew could be used. Yes, Princess, I will own your body, your mind, and your soul and never forget - I always get what I want." - Nick

Do I have your attention now? Yes, this book is all kinds of good and you seriously need to get your #oneclick on and buy it and get into the authors mind and lose yourself. You won't regret it. This is the author's debut book and you wouldn't think so reading it. She really grabs your attention and keeps the pace going throughout the whole entire book.

I just want to say that when it comes to Romantic Suspense books, I am your girl. I received this arc for exchange for my honest review, and even thou I'm not blogging anymore like I was used to I am so glad that I didn't pass this one up, would I have read this before, not sure but I'll tell you this is a keeper of stories that I truly had my interest right away. I read this one in one sitting because I couldn't put it down, but I must warn you that this has a pretty nasty cliff that leads you to a sigh because you MUST know what happens... and the next book wont be out for month or so.. there are three in this trilogy.

This book is about a girl that is daughter of a billionaire, lets just say that she's given a platinum spoon but she's not your typical snob, uppity girl. She's just a normal girl that wants to live a normal life. She wants to find love get married get a degree.. all the stuff a normal girl would want to do. Away at college she is left with her dad wanting her to come home for the summer. The summer of her 21st bday, she obliges to his rules, and comes home to spend the summer with him leaving her fiancé Adam and looking forward to seeing him at the end of summer for her big 21st bash.

What she doesn't expect is that a week before her party, her life changes forever, well it seems like forever, because lets face it.. we don't know what freaking happens .... cue the cliff! She finds herself in a situation that she doesn't understand why she's in the situation.

She's caught up in the sex slave world- the prize Julianna Oakley the winner Nick. Nick has set his on Julianna for a decade, but she doesn't know him. Nick's team developed Blyss a ultimate drug that sends a woman's libido into overdrive!! The person training her for Nick is Travis. The green eye Adonis! Travis knows he's only training Julianna to become Nick's prize, but he cant help to only want her, and he doesn't make exceptions- he knows he can't have her. Virgin, beautiful, selfless all traits that he's never ran into before... he tells her she's not his, and Julianna will fight until she cant find anymore...

"I am Julianne Oakley and I have not yet begun to fight."

but the truth will unfold with next books in the series...

Blyss this is the new debut novel by JC Cliff.
AMAZING I stumbled across this little gem and what a treasure it turned ou to be. We meet Juliana ( or jules as she likes to be called ) who has returned from colleague to spend the summer with her powerful and wealthy farther. Jules finds herself being kidnapped from her home and wakes up to being held by sex traffickers ( I know what your thinking same old story blah blah but you will find yourself being so wrong and blow away). Jules soon learns she is to be trained by the sexy and mysterious travis to be a sex slave for his boss nick who runs the operation.

" I will own your body, your mind, and your soul and never forget - i always get what I want" - nick

Jules is to be trained by travis nicks right hand man and with the help of a new drug that used against women with one purpose in mind she finds her mind battling against her body desires . Jules is one of a kind a sexy, sassy, spitfire with one hell of a round house kick. It is travis responsibility to teach jules how to give into her body's desires and make every mans fantasies come true ( having some series fantasies about travis myself right now swoooon)

"I'm about to make you feel things you never knew existed, and I can't wait to see you writhing under my touch as I give you pleasure" - travis

There is so much mystery and intrigue in this book that it will have you sitting at the edge of your seat and wanting more. So jump in and buckle up for one hell of a ride. Sent a holler to the aurthor and book 2 should be about mid November soooooo excited

This is one of the reasons I sign up for blog tours- to be introduced to authors and books I've not heard of before. In this case I'm so delighted to be introduced to this trilogy. The author had my attention from the start and I literally could not move until Id finished it.

The main characters are Jules, Nick and Travis. Jules is a fantastic character. I totally loved her. As for Nick and Travis the author messed with my head where they were concerned as my like/dislike for them kept changing.

My lips are zipper when it comes to the storyline. The story is so much more than the synopsis with a few surprises that took my breath away.

Well done to the author on a brilliant debut novel. If your looking for a gripping dark romance then I definitely recommend this book.

In my opinion this is a lighter dark read if that makes sense. Be warned theres a cliffhanger however book two is already out.

I was given this book from the author for an honest review.

Wow!!! I thought this was a great book to read! The book was intriguing, it kept you wanting to read more and more about Julianna and the situation she is in. The author's detailing of the story, I thought was really well written and the story line I thought was different and complex to some of the other stories I've read. This book also reminds me of Step-ford Wives with kink!

I can't wait to read the next book in the Blyss trilogy. There are so many questions that are still unanswered and you want to know what happens to Julianna.

It was a great read and I can't wait to read more from this author!

Going into this book, I wasn't sure how the story would play out. However, once I started reading I was drawn into its originality. I haven't read any other storyline quite like it. The heroine grows throughout the story, I liked her. Although it's a series and does have a slight cliffhanger it's not one that leaves you thinking "WTH!"

Kudos to J.C. for the start of a great series.

This just another version of Captive in the dark by C.J. Roberts.
Just substitute Caleb with Travis and Juliana with Olivia with a few
different background changes.
You can almost figure out what is going to happen in the next 3 books.

This is our h:

The h is Disney's Rapunzel - our big mean macho antihero describes her with long gold spun hair and powder blue eyes. Oh and she is beautiful.

The h was a mess - no distinct personality whatsoever - one minute a helpless Disney princess, the other a ninja and the other goo of puddle because she saw her jailer's 8 pack! She calls her kidnappers "hot" - ?!?!?! - who does that? Especially within hours of being forcefully taken and beaten up!

Travis - the main "hero" (although Nick is the boss who wants her) - is another mess - one minute "i've got you princess" and the other pulling on her hair and being an ass.

The only interesting thing was the drug "blyss" (which is meant have a strong aphrodisiac effect) and that didn't seem to have much impact either - as the h was all gooey for her kidnappers even before it took effect.

5 "Erotic Blyss" Stars. Wow, this is one hot read! Great suspense too. J.C. Cliff's ability to translate and describe sexual desire is off the charts. Moreover, the plot is fresh, will no doubt leave you guessing as to each individual's true motivations, and will have you clamoring for more! I rarely read one book in a series right after the other, but Blyss has me so captivated, I'm moving on to book 2 now! I can't wait to see how this story continues to evolve. My mind is churning with the endless possibilities!

Before I provide a background description, I think it is first worth noting that this is a "grey romance". In other words, it could be classified as a "dark romance", as it deals with difficult subjects like the sex slave trade, but it definitely falls on the much more lighter side of that sub-genre given that it is somewhat less taboo and gritty than other dark romance books (for example, there is no rape in this book).

Julianna Oakley, a college junior and the daughter of a rich entrepreneur, has never seen the need for her father's overprotective streak. Although she can have anything that money can buy, she is actually very much down to earth and is looking forward to paving her own way by having her own career. This is just one, in the many ways, that she demonstrates her independent streak.

At her father's request, however, she decides to indulge him with his latest request that she spend the summer before her senior year at home with him. Given that she has met the man that she plans to spend the rest of her life with, her fiance Adam, and will soon be married, she decides to grant her father this last opportunity to spend dedicated time with her.

Little does Julianna know that there is another man, Nick, who has also been planning to make her his own for a very long time. Nick, being a powerful and rich man, is used to getting what he wants, but he is leaving nothing to chance. Instead, he has been biding his time waiting for Julianna to turn 21, and has spared no expense at laying the groundwork for her capture to ensure that she becomes his and only his. The fact that he is uniquely suited for this endeavor, given he is the mastermind behind Blyss, the ultimate aphrodisiac, is just the piece de resistance, literally.

In his endeavor to own her and mold her into his very own blend of submissive, however, Nick not only utilizes Blyss, but also his best handler, Travis. Travis, is Nick's second in command, and is an exceptionally gifted manipulator. As he sets off to train Julianna, however, he begins to feel feelings he has never experienced before and sparks begin to fly.

Meanwhile, Julianna ever the determined one, remains resolute in her mission to obtain her freedom, even as she starts to question whether the intense feelings she is feeling for Travis are real or just a side effect of Blyss.

Sharing, however, was never part of Nick's plan; and as the battle between Nick and Travis escalate to new heights, Julianna gets caught in the middle. Soon everything she was beginning to accept as her new reality is shattered, and she is left with no choice but to plan her own strategy to obtain her definition of blyss. You get the sense, however, that this is only the beginning of the earth shattering secrets that lay in wait and that will need to be revealed before true blyss can be found.

This story blew my mind. J.C. Cliff is a master erotica wordsmith and has weaved quite a twisted world to round out her tale! I really enjoyed this lighter blend of dark romance, or "grey romance". I think I may have just found a new favorite romance sub-genre and a favorite trilogy to boot!

★★★★★5+ STARS

Blyss starts and within the first couple of chapters even though I am interested in the story I think great another kidnap story where the heroine falls for her captor...been there, done that! I quickly start to realize is not going to be like anything else I have read and I glued to the edge of my seat with a mix of suspense and mystery.

Julianna (heroine) is a likeable character, she's a fighter and will not just go down quietly and let herself be kidnapped. She has an immediate attraction to Travis, one of her captors. I really wanted to like Travis but well you will have to read for yourself...

There is a sexiness that comes along with the storyline and charcters that makes you feel as if you were effected by BLYSS!

I was up literally all night reading this book because I was so enthralled with the characters and storyline is different from anything that I have read before. I can't wait for part two.

J.C. Cliff is an author to watch I know this story is only going to get better.

Not really what I wanted it to be. It started off strong... but then I started losing interest.

The dialogue was really cheesy at times, the plot dragged on in spots (I skimmed a lot after the 60% mark), and it wasn't as dark as I thought it was going to be when I started it.

I think the most interesting character for me was Nick and he was barely in this first installment. I can appreciate where the author was trying to go with it, but it kind of missed the mark for me. I'm undecided about continuing on with the series.

3 stars. If Nick becomes a more featured character in book two, then maybe I'll get to it eventually.
