Survival can change a boy to a man.

Or a man to a killer.

But it takes more for him to become truly lethal. The ability to deliver a blow so fatal, even the most powerful target draws their very last breath. And it’s a very fine line between those particular sets of skills being used for good. Or for evil.

Elliot Orlovschi can’t say on which side of that line he belongs. As one of Eros’ Eight—mercenaries trained to use lust as a deadly lure—his goals have always been simple. Protect the brother he claimed and put the most corrupt bastards in the ground.

He loves his job, but he has no illusions about how twisted he is when his only pleasure comes from spilling blood.

Until he meets Damon Burrows, a bodyguard who took the wrong client at the wrong time. Stabbing him with a pencil should’ve been the end of it, but Damon isn’t like the lowlife he works for. His sacrifice to save Elliot’s brother leaves him clinging to life.

Keeping him alive puts Elliot into serious debt—a debt he can only repay by taking the most dangerous jobs, whether or not he’s ready for the challenge. His handlers and his friends all tell him the cost is too high, but he doesn’t give a damn.

Because after Damon steals his way into Elliot’s heart.

There’s no way in hell he’ll ever let him go.

Tell you about me? Hmm, well there's not much to say. I love hockey and cars and my kids…not in that order of course! Lol! When I'm not writing—which isn't often—I'm usually watching a game or a car show while working on promo. Going out with my kids is my only down time. I get to clear my head and forget everything.

As for when and why I first started writing, I guess I thought I'd get extra cookies if I was quiet for awhile—that's how young I was. I used to bring my grandmother barely legible pages filled with tales of evil unicorns. She told me then that I would be a famous author.

I hope one day to prove her right.

What I love about this authour is their ability to build a world, introduce characters, and have you feeling like you’ve known them forever by the end of the book! This was a face-paced story, full of dark and twisted individuals, good and bad, with unwinnable circumstances, that don’t always turn out well or as expected. What it also is is a study in found family, learning to rely on others, and not trying to control or win every situation you find yourself in. There is no black and white, everything is in shades of grey, most on the more deeper end of the scale. It was a wild ride, and now, I can’t wait for more <3

I loved this but there are quite a few potential triggers so do check before you start reading.

The story focuses on Elliot and Damon
Feisty little Elliot is absolutely adorable; grown up Elliot is an interesting combination of innocent and seasoned merc.
Damon comes from privilege but circumstances and poor choices have changed that.
Together and with Eros’ Eight they develop a slightly unusual found family. Made up of a group of dysfunctional characters with some seriously questionable quirks.

This book ends on a light cliffhanger/HFN

The beginning of this book had me doubting that I could finish it due to some subject matter. It made me feel ill and want to retch. I persevered and did finish the book. It was a highly emotional, compelling, and riveting story. I can't wait for the follow up book to root on the good guys. This story is very impactful and bound to touch many hearts. The villains are so vile, ruthless, and unconscionable, and the good guys continue to fight for humanity and justice. The twists and turns will leave you breathless!! I voluntarily read a free copy of this book provided by book sirens and am giving an honest opinion.

This book was something else. It was a wild ride from page 1. Elliott is one of my favorite mcs to date. He is fiesty, ruthless, and a cold, trained killer. He meets Damon, and he starts to feel things, a new sensation for him.
About 2/3 through, I got so angry I had to put the book down and walk away for 2 days. I had to process everything and clear my head before continuing.
I can not wait for the next book. There is kind of a cliffhanger for the overarching story, but the Damon and Elliott end with a HFN.
Be warned of the trigger warnings.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
