In this spicy romance from the author of Alive and Wells and Seeing Red, a jaded woman reluctantly returns to her hometown—and to the cowboy who broke her heart and drove her away.

She spent years trying to forget. He’ll do anything to make her remember.

Wells Canyon is the last place Blair Hart wants to be. Yet when her mother falls ill, she has no choice except to return to the hometown she’s avoided for over a decade. In a town so small, she knows there’s no way she can avoid the cowboy who tore her life to pieces all those years ago, but that doesn’t mean she’s prepared for the way Denver Wells can turn back time with a single smile.

Since Denver’s world came crashing down thirteen years ago, he’s somehow managed to keep his demons at bay…that is, until Blair Hart’s return knocks him from his saddle. But if he wants her back, he’ll have to prove he can be the man she needs—the same one she used to love.

Throwing herself into the role of caregiver, Blair doesn’t have the time to sift through their messy history even if she wanted to. And Denver’s going to need a lot more than his usual cowboy charm to convince Blair he’s worth a change of heart.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and I will just say it has launched me into my cowboy era! It was angsty and emotional and so sexy. I am a sucker for a second chance romance and this one did the trick! Can't wait to go back and read books 1 & 2 and meet the other men of Wells Canyon!

I sure do love me a cowboy romance and Bailey Hannah’s books are no exception.

Spicy, sexy, and emotional, the perfect blend for an addictive read!

I devoured the book in less than 24 hours!

What I loved…
- angsty - emotional - spicy
- second chance - childhood lovers
- dual timeline - we learn about their past relationship in flashbacks that had me giggling and crying
- he’s down BAD for her
- playboy that leaves it all behind for a chance at her
- each one of these books has gotten better than the last in terms of how the author tackles hard subjects, the care she puts into each emotional issue or health struggle is apparent and all are handled with care.

What I didn’t love…
- I LOVED the flashbacks at the beginning but towards the end I wanted less flashbacks and more present
- personal preference but the sheer number of -ing uses kills me

🌶️ - Once the spice starts, it’s pretty frequent. Explicit scenes start around 44%. 🌶️Chapters are: 22, 25, 33, 35, 36, 45, 48. As for the intensity, fully explicit but only mildly passed vanilla imo.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House/Dell for sending this book (eARC) for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

BETA READ— no i will not be getting over this anytime soon😭😭😭 this was the perfect emotional trifecta that left me giggling, horny, and (mostly) sobbing. Bails absolutely SLAYED the second chance game and the depth of this story and these characters was simply unmatched. this one’s for my fellow superfans of “the notebook” and all of you hopeful romantics out there🫶🏻

full rtc as soon as i’m able to but for now i will say that beta reading this was quite literally one of the biggest accomplishments of my life thus far!!!

Oh to be in Wells Ranch again. It’s the best feeling ever. The audacity for Bailey to keep making each book better and better (with each book being a 5 star). I will truly never get over this book and the absolute joy that these characters bring me every time I’m brought back to this fictional world.

This book is full of angst, emotion and chemistry. Blair and Denver were the perfect representation of childhood friends to lovers who have such a special connection from their first interaction. Blair found her way into the Wells family and vice versa with Denny. They fell in love at such a young age, going through so many obstacles together. High school graduation, early years of college and family loss. They were truly each others back bone. 🥹🥹 One of the hardest obstacles they face together leads to them breaking up and both finding themselves heartbroken and more alone than ever.

Fast forward to 14 years later, and Blair is back in Wells Canyon and Denver literally falls off of his horse when he sees her again. Whoops!!!! With his girl back in town (and here to stay) he needs to prove to her that he would do (literally) anything to have her back for good.

PLEASE PLEAASSSEEE add this book to your tbr and on May 27th run out to bookstores to buy this piece of art. I’m a Wells Ranch fan club member for life and my girl Bailey knocked it out of the park 🫶🏻 I LOVE YOU AND ALL THESE MEN (and women. don’t forget about my girls)

Infinity stars for dennyblair!!! Thank you so much to Dell Romance, Bailey Hannah, and NetGalley for the arc!!!

I’m not entirely sure where to start with this one, all I know is that I LOVED this from beginning to end and I can’t stop thinking about Blair and Denver. If you know me, you know that second chance romance is my favorite trope and this one lived up to all of my expectations and then some. I truly loved being back at Wells Ranch!!!

This was an emotional read filled with heartbreak, hurt, and grief of both those living and those passed. I want to give both Blair and Denny the biggest hugs on the entire planet and protect them from all the bad things in the world because thats what they deserve!!!

Blair Hart is such a beautifully written female lead and I loved her from the very beginning!!! She’s strong, independent (sometimes to a fault), loving, caring, so undeniably genuine and so relatable. I adored her sense of humor, her dedication to being there for those who need her, and her selflessness. Her growth throughout this book is so beautiful, and I loved getting to see her heal. I loved her so much, i felt so connected to her throughout the story and ugh, she deserves the world!!!

Denver Wells is truly such a lovely, well-written male lead and boy do I love him!!! He is goofy, strong, caring, and kind. He loves hard and would do anything for those he cares about, and I just want to give him a big hug. His depth as a character is so well done, and the grief he has dealt with truly makes my heart ache. His growth throughout the book made me so happy, I adored every moment of getting to know his character and he is such a sweetheart I can’t deal. A man obsessed who is also a cowboy, will grovel & beg, and he uses humor to cope/deflect??? Thank you so much, Bailey Hannah.

Denver and Blair’s relationship is so beautiful and so, so well done. I truly cannot express how much I love the second chance trope, and Bailey Hannah did a WONDERFUL job. Their story is filled with love, hurt, tension, longing, and an undeniable soulmate bond that spans so many years it makes my heart HURT!!! Getting to see them in the flashback chapters become best friends and then fall in love, watching this unbreakable bond between these two develop, was so beautiful. And then being in the present, watching them heal old wounds, trust each other, and find their way back to each other makes me SQUEAL WITH JOY. The grand gestures, the ENDING, there are so many things I want to say but can’t spoil, just know that I LOVE these two SO MUCH!!! Also their chemistry is like unreal and the smut is truly delectable its insane!!!

This is a small town, second chance romance, with high school sweethearts, barrel racer x bronc rider, dual timeline/POV, reformed playboy, themes of grief, lots of emotion, and so much pining it’ll make your heart hurt!!!

🍨Second chance
🧸Small town
🍨Cowboy
🧸Dual timeline

I was super excited for Blair and Denver's story, and I have to say, they went way beyond what I was expecting—these two brought out so many emotions in me.

This is a second-chance romance with dual timeline, which was perfect for understanding what really happened in their past. I absolutely loved the chapters set in the past; they showed how they fell in love and also how much they went through. This book tackles some heavier topics, so definitely check the CWs, but I think everything was portrayed really well. It helped me connect with the characters without making it too heavy to keep reading. I really liked that certain topics were addressed here—I love it when a romance book dives into serious themes because it makes the story feel real.

Blair and Denver are truly made for each other, and I loved watching them find their way back together. I especially loved how Denver never denied his feelings—you can see from the start how much he loves his girl. Seriously, this man is EVERYTHING! The two of them together made me feel so much, and I was so happy to see them finally get the ending they’ve always deserved.

Thank you so much, Dell and NetGalley for sending me this ARC!

"It's always been us. In any lifetime, any universe. We were meant to end up here."

Give me second chance romances with hot cowboys all day every day and I will be happy girl. This series has been one hit after another and Change of Hart was no different. This book had everything I love about second chance romances - dual timeline, emotional moments, and the most heart wrenching "it's always been you vibes"

I really enjoyed the dual timeline format of this story. It was so sweet to see Denver and Blair's budding friendship turn into such a strong foundation for their relationship. It made it that much more devastating to read the chapters in the present and realize just how far they were from where they once were. 14 years without speaking is brutal but after the reveal, I think I understood.

Blair was incredibly strong willed and fiercely independent. She was The Oldest Daughter™ and it killed me to see everything that she was taking on, but I also completely related to her inability to ask for help because hi, same. So, it absolutely delighted me when she finally started putting her guard down and letting Denver take some of that load off for her.

Denver killed meeeeee. From the moment - the absolute second - Blair was back in his life, he was done. He was determined to get her back. He proved himself time and time again and I loved how even when Blair shit him out or turned him away, he didn't let discourage him. I melted at all of the ways that he showed her that he loved her and would be there for her. These two were soulmates and I can't begin to explain how happy it made me to see them find their way back.

At first, I was a little upset at the big reveal for why things ended between them, however, upon reflection and noting how both characters grew since that moment, I actually appreciated the way it all played out and thought it made perfect sense for the story.

Anyway, this was also ridiculously hot??? My god, the mouth on BOTH of them had me absolutely flustered. I didn't know if I wanted to be Blair or be with her lmaooo. Like, Blair praising Denver and calling him a good boy completely changed my brain chemistry.

Definitely recommend reading this series and picking this one up on release day (May 27, 2025) Can't wait to read more from Bailey Hannah - she has quickly become an autobuy author for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine/Dell for the ARC!

this book took me out the game and brought me back to life in the same time span. i can’t really go into detail without breaking out into tears. this book was the perfect second chance, reading a childhood lovers to currently gaining trust in one another again and learning to love one another again, bailey wrote this story so so beautifully. i love being at wells canyon, would literally sell my limbs to be in this fictional world.

i relate to blair so much, just feeling like you’re on 100 on the daily and never have time to focus on yourself and it’s hard to put yourself first, but her having her friends, family and denny to just help her see that it’s okay to need help? WRECKED ME.

denver wells? if you know me you know im an austin girls through and through but this book? austin i’m so sorry you’ve been pushed to 2. if i could bottle up denver wells i would, that mans heart? unreal. the way he loves blair, i wish. PICK ME CHOOSE ME.

i will have so much more to say about this book when it’s out to the world but for now.

10 stars.

bailey hannah you will recieve my therapy bill.

Oh. My. HEART. I don’t think I’ll ever be the same after meeting Denver Wells. He’s officially ruined me for all other book boyfriends. A rugged cowboy with a heart of gold and a soul full of regret? I was done for. The way he loved Blair, even after all those years apart, had me swooning so hard.

This book gave me everything I love: second chances, a dual timeline that broke me in two, and an emotional journey that reminded me why I adore romance. Blair’s return to Wells Canyon was packed with so much tension and history, and every scene between her and Denver just dripped with unresolved feelings. Their chemistry? Absolutely electric.

And can we talk about the way Denver fights for her? He’s not just a swoon-worthy cowboy—he’s a man willing to bare his soul and work for the love he lost. UGH. I couldn’t get enough of him.

I cried so many times while reading—happy tears, sad tears, you-name-it tears. This story hit me right in the feels and left me completely wrecked in the best way. 💕

Check the trigger warnings bc there are some sensitive topics discussed. 🫶🏻

I’m so happy we finally got Blair’s story! We’re already introduced to her in book 2 so have a general overview of who she is. I love how we dive right into her being reacquainted with Denver who we obviously know from the previous books from his reputation with women as well as mischievous antics with Austin and the other cowboys.

We get insight into a bad ass FMC who has so much on her plate and refuses to show weakness. The awareness for depression and pregnancy termination really stood for doing what is best for you and not doing things to please other people as well as learning to accept help when you can’t help yourself in terms of mental health. We learn from both Blair and Denver that it’s okay to have somebody to lean on.

Denver relied on Blair during his mother’s sickness/death but when it came to her needing a shoulder, he let her down. Luckily, he learnt from his teen years and grew into a man who was honest about where he went wrong and did everything in his power to prove to Blair that he could be there for her, from little moments helping with her moms Alzheimer’s, bringing her coffee, making her work/home life easier and being so accepting of her mental health and setting alarms for her tablets incase she forgot. He really developed into a reliable, trustworthy man allowing Blair to learn to accept that it’s okay to want help.

I loved the little snippets of where Cassidy and Red, Austin and Cecily were in their developing relationships, we get to explore the depth of Blair’s friendship with Cassidy where she’s considered Hazels auntie as well as our little chaotic girl Squad organising Cecily’s wedding!

Lucy Wells death absolutely broke my heart, I was in that room with the Wells boys sobbing. It was a heartbreaking yet intimate scene, exploring the different ways people cope with loss and grief. I feel like it was really special how her memory and essence was really kept alive after her passing tho, her presence was still felt throughout the story.

I adored the childhood throwbacks between chapters and liked that we get them early on in the book, gradually learning on Blair and Denver’s history. Once we get all the information, we get to enjoy their relationship progression with no miscommunication!!

The spicy scenes were to die for! Pleasure dom yes please! And exploring different kinks was so fun! I appreciated that this book wasn’t completely sex driven, we really get a lot of plot with the perfect balance of spice.

This was the most PERFECT childhood lovers, second chance romance I’ve ever read.

The feel that the overall message of this book was that life is so unexpected and we really take time for granted. Holding grudges and not learning from our own mistakes wastes so much time. Living in the now and loving with your whole heart is so important as well as telling those around you how much you love and appreciate them.

Ps. The Googly eyed lettuce scene with Bennett Wells, Blair and Denver had me in stitches!!

“Spread yourself baby, show me what I’ve been missing”
“I need to know if you still sound the same when you’re coming for me”
“Blair Wells. My wife. Finally” - Denver

“I’ve always belonged to him. Arguing that fact was pointless”
“You can’t be over here with a f#cking backwards hat on, doing all this manly sh#t, and expect me not to notice”
“I was always coming back to you, Denver. No one else has ever felt like home” - Blair

Firstly: always be sure to check your content warnings. They are there for a reason.

Two: make sure you have plenty of tissues ready. I should not have read this while in public. Oof. It’s been a long time since a book has wrecked me this much. Fully sobbing at some points. There were a lot of sensitive topics hit close to home and were done so well, with such informed compassion and realism. I absolutely love Bailey Hannah’s writing style. She is unpretentious and funny and authentic, and every piece of dialogue is realistically conversational.

and Three: God d*mn it do I love a second chance romance. It’s guaranteed to make me weak in the knees every time. Denver Wells has just surpassed almost every other book boyfriend on my list. He was just the sweetest, swooniest, most down-bad-for-his-girl, reformed playboy who loves his mama, cowboy gentleman. It was so clear how deeply he loved Blair and how desperately he was trying to take care of her and prove they belonged together. And they absolutely do, no question.

The moments between Blair, Denver, and each of their Moms were heartwarming and heartbreaking all at once. The fact that they had each other to lean on just strengthened their relationship even more. The dual timeline gave us the history we needed to understand just how deep the connection between Blair and Denver was.

Ugh there are so many spoilers I want to scream about! This book is going to stick with me for days, if not months. Please, I beg you, read this as soon as possible, then slide into my DMs so we can gush about it together. I’m pretty sure Bailey is already sick of seeing my name in her notifications.

Oh. I will say something about the scene after Austin & Cece’s wedding because ho-lee sh!t that was some of the hottest spice I’ve ever read. Jeeeeeeeezuss.

The little snippet of Kate and Jackson’s backstory?
The easter eggs for the next book in the series? I will be impatiently waiting for more.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Change of Hart by Bailey Hannah was an incredible book to start my 2025 reading journey with. The third book in her Wells Ranch series can be read as a stand alone.

When Blair Hart’s mom is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s she leaves behind her life in Vancouver to help take care of her, help her sister with her nephew, her best friend with her new baby, and become the town’s new Nurse Practitioner. Oh yeah, she also has to come face to face with the love of her life, whom she hasn’t seen in 14 years and who she still loves.

Denver Wells is a man who, when he finds out that Blair is back in town and not involved with someone, pulls no stops in letting her know that he wants her back and will do whatever he has to do to prove she can count on him.

Dual POV, flashbacks, and really great secondary characters (love you, Cass and Whit!) help to make this book the great story it is. The flashbacks give us their backstory and make us fall in love with the characters from their childhood.

The author writes all of her characters with love for each of them and it shows. I laughed out loud and I sobbed. (My husband asked if I was okay at one point). The storylines were hard, but she handled them with grace and wrote the characters where no one was the bad guy, and I appreciated that so much.

This was my very first Bailey Hannah book and when I finished this, I immediately pre-ordered the paperbacks of the whole series, got ebooks of the other two so I can read them now, AND got the audiobooks of the first two. I’ll be buying the audiobook of this one when it comes out too. Seriously.

I really, really hope that there is a fourth book for Whit and Colt!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

Oh, to be back in Wells Canyon. The perfect setting for cowboy romances. As if the men from Alive and Wells and Seeing Red weren’t perfect enough, just wait until you meet Denny.

“Time is a fickle bitch; days are long, years are short and it seems to stand still altogether when Denver and I are involved.”

I love a second chance romance as much as the next person, but this, this was unreal.

Blair has to move back to her hometown of Wells Canyon to care for her unwell mother, but there’s a reason that she’s avoided the place for so long. And in typical small-town fashion, there’s no running from her past.

A child barrel racer who was brought into the Wells family as the daughter they never had, Blair and Denver have a history that came to an explosive end over a decade ago, and through flashbacks, their past and present draws you in.

To Denny, Blair is the one who got away. And he never thought that she would come back. So, her reappearance has Denver trying to right his wrongs from many years ago. Which is easier said than done when she’s working so hard to look after her mother.

A second chance romance for the ages. With a dual-timeline and dual-POV structure, Bailey Hannah has hit new heights in her cowboy romance era. The romance was swoon-worthy. The spice was off the scale. And Blair and Denver are officially one of my favourite fictional couples.

Highly recommend!

Blair and Denver are two people who are undeniably meant to be together but got lost along the way and now aren’t in each others lives… until Blair moves back to her hometown and runs into Denny.
I loved this book so much!! Bailey Hannah is the queen of writing cowboy romances that are angsty yet funny with characters who are so relatable and easy to love. This book was childhood friends to lovers, second chance romance at its finest. Denny was such a sweetheart and his commitment to earning back Blair’s trust was so sweet. He would do literally anything for her and i loved that even though Blair was so independent and strong she was willing to let him in to help her.
This book is in dual timeline so you get to see Denny and Blair from the past become friends and fall in love but you also see why their relationship fell apart which was so heartbreaking. Both characters put the time and effort into rebuilding the relationship and didn’t rush into it.
This book also had really great mental health/grief rep as well as some fun cameos from the previous books’ couples. You won’t want to miss this one when it comes out!!

✨Change of Hart- @baileyhannahwrites ✨

childhood best friends
second chance (after 14 years)
dual timeline & pov
reformed playboy
it’s always been you

Change of Hart was…wow perfection!! The third installment of Wells Ranch series is everything and more we need following this found family on their ranch. Denver Wells- bronc rider, cattle rancher, reformed playboy has always loved one thing: Blair Hart. These two lived the greatest friends to lovers story as kids, but life had a part in tearing it all down. But, we get the immense pleasure of watching them find their way back after 14 years. Their story is filled with love, found family, immense grief & heartbreak but will continue to piece you back together in the end. This is truly the blueprint of second chance, it’s always been you romance that is so deeply relatable on both ends that it will break you down and heal you better than before between every chapter ♥️

Thank you to Edelweiss, Netgalley and the publisher for the ARCs. I'll start by saying these are a few of my not-so-favorite tropes, and I flew through the first 60% of this book. The pining and drama drags a little towards the end, but this is still a knockout choice for a second chance trope. "Seeing Red" is still my favorite in the series for me, but if Alive and Wells is your favorite, I think you'll really like this one too.

BAILEY HANNAH COULD NEVER LET ME DOWN. I BAWLED MY EYES OUT READING THIS. I just want a Bronc rider who sees me after over a decade, falls over his horse and immediately breaks up with his gf so he can get me back 🙂‍↔️

“So what’s the excuse for why you fell off?”
“I saw you.”
FOLD.
I LOVED being back in Wells Ranch. Childhood friends to lovers with a dual timeline is my Roman Empire. Seeing Blair and Denver become friends and their relationship evolve especially during such a grieving time for both of them 😭 The grief in this was real and it hurt. Denver’s mom hit a little close to home for me and I cried like a baby.

A 10/10 second chance romance. I loved it so much and this series is ON TOP. “Good boy” has a special place I my heart after this one
