Myla Hawthorne and Cian Kelly have been circling each other for years.
Everyone knows they’ll end up together.
They’re best friends.
Maybe even soul mates, if you believe in that kind of thing.
Too bad they can’t stop fighting long enough to figure it out.
When an argument between them turns into a heated discussion about their relationship, Myla is left devastated. She’s convinced that she may have broken their relationship for good.
But none of that matters when Cian is blindsided by an emergency back home that no one could have anticipated.
Because when one of their own is in trouble the Aces and Eights MC won’t let them go through it alone.
And when it comes to the man she loves, neither will Myla.
She’s just hoping that Cian won’t throw her out the moment he sees her.
This book contains the two best friends that anyone could have, inappropriate parents, found family, annoying older brothers, women who aren't afraid to speak their minds, violence, an alpha hero, and plenty of spice.
Nicole Jacquelyn is the mom of two little girls and a full time college student. She hasn’t watched television in well over a year, she still does things that drive her mother crazy, and she loves to read. At eight years old, when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she told people she wanted to be a mom. When she was twelve her answer changed- to author. By the time she was eighteen, when people asked her what she wanted to do with her life, she told them she really wanted to be a writer- but the odds of that happening were so slim that she’d get her business degree “just to be safe”. Her dreams stayed constant. First she became a mom, then she went to college, and during her senior year- with one daughter in first grade and the other in preschool, she sat down and wrote a story.
I have a soft spot for this author and this series...so any review I give will be completely biased and unreliable. Not a fave for me, but I enjoyed it. Again, I just love this author, this series, these characters, and this world as a whole. I will continue to read how ever many she churns out.
I'm so sorry but 2 stars is honestly really generous. Nothing happened in this... I know nothing about these characters, as a "couple" or independently. Where was the development!!! I guess it ties into another book? But I don't know why I'd want to pick that up after seeing what's to come for the couple here!! I'm sad :( I need to cut ties with this spinoff but I keep going back for more expecting different results... same old same old.
She’s so woe is me and for no reason. She has two parents who love her, brothers who treat her like a princess, and plenty of money. She is pretty and popular. She gets everything she wants. There is no depth to her at all. She just likes arguing for arguments sake. When there is any MINOR inconvenience she’s so put out by it. 🙄 I found her to be the MOST annoying version of a pick-me-girl, who wanted to scream about things but then was called out she would cry and feel like the victim.
Honestly? He’s just as bad. He yells and forces her to do things he wants to do (non-sexually—there is a line) but he keeps going back for more. The scene where they were having a screaming match and he took a can and threw it against a wall was the scene I lost all interest in him. He seems toxic af and even the accent can’t save it.
I only stopped myself from dnfing only because I want to know what comes next. I hope it’s Lou/Bas.
P.S. I’m worried that they are trying for Frankie to be Farrah 2.0 and that just can’t be done. Farrah is unmatched, please don’t even try.
I am so happy and mad at the same time At this point we know that I love anything that Nicole writes and that The Aces and anything related to that world its like candy to me, and this book is not the exception, one thing that I have always loved from her writing and story telling is that Nicole writes no only happy endings, and that tragedy and bad things happen, and I freaking hated what happened in this book, specially bcs why oh why it ha to be HIM the one getting into trouble and bringing everyone down with him? After you made me fall in love with him not too long ago? But anyways, good thing was seeing all the Aces and fam coming together to show support to one of theirs, the humor, bickering and drama was not missing. I am excited to see what will come next!!
I loved Aiofe and Richie in Steadfast. Loved them. So to have their whole story effed with in this book not only took the shine off their book but spoiled this one for me. See, I was so focused on them I didn't give the first damn about the two idiot MC's in this book. I wasn't overly fussed on Myla or Cian, they have some serious introspection and growing up to do before I can believe in their romance.
Not my favourite book by this souther, by a long shot. 2.5 stars
Okay…no, let me just tell you something, this was absolutely f’n unbelievable. GAWD. Nicole, you have cemented yourself as one of my all-time favorite authors, and with every new book, you just keep raising that bar. The Aces MC world has become so deeply embedded in my heart since you first introduced me to it, and I’m fully, unapologetically obsessed.
Starting with Myla and Cian… what a couple! They were absolute perfection together. Their chemistry was off the charts—fierce, playful, and all-around scorching. The banter between them had me laughing out loud, and their "fighting" was so entertaining it might as well have been foreplay, which hello, it 💯 WAS!! These two were the definition of soulmates and their relationship was one of the most dynamic and heartwarming I’ve read in a long time.
Next to the couple themselves, this story was everything. It was beautiful, heartbreaking, and wild—just like the world Nicole has built. I never thought I’d fall for a biker gang, but these Aces hold a special place in my heart. The love and camaraderie they share as a family is truly something to behold. There's this warmth and depth to the MC that’s hard to explain, but it leaves the most lasting impression, and I’m all in.
And wait, this has to be said to. One of the things I love most about this series is how Nicole keeps the OG Aces front and center. Every time one of the original characters pops up, I can’t help but smile. They feel like home, and it’s clear that these characters are as important to Nicole as they are to us. 🖤 So, thank YOU!
Honestly, I don’t know what else to say. Nicole Jacquelyn has made me fall head over heels for the biker world trope in a way no one else has. Her talent is unmatched, and I am forever grateful that we get to experience her stories. Myla was another beautiful addition to an already amazing series, and I can’t wait to see where she takes us next.
Nicole, keep the stories coming—you’ve created a world I never want to leave.

Apologies for the rambling, 🙈—I just read this over and had to come back and make a few edits, 😂, but honestly, this series gets me so fired up that my mind is buzzing with a thousand thoughts every time I finish one of these books! Sorry, not—sorry. Bye friends!
Idk what it was about this book, but I really liked it. 3.75 stars.
I like found family but at some point the other characters can take too much space in the story, which def happened here. The plot overshadowed their romance but it was entertaining. Their fights were so realistic too. This felt realistic overall, even the MC aspect. She killed someone and they didnt just magically make it disappear like many other books. Idk, this just seemed very rooted in reality and common sense, and the problems for the couple (the h retreating into herself when they fight) I could relate to.
Idk why but I even felt like I wanted to annotate this for some reason haha not sure why.. maybe it was also the mood I was in bc typically a book like this would not stand out this much for me. But oh well. Solid writing and I felt the MCs connection, even though I’d have loved to have spent more time with them as friends, angst related to that and the background of their friendship, and then more time with them as a couple. So that’s why not a higher rating.
Another captivating romance from Nicole Jacqueline. As always, the story had me hanging onto every word from beginning to end. I do love those Aces, my favorite characters, both old and new, but Tommy and Heather, and now their children's books have to be among my absolute picks. I so hope the author will continue on with more of the new generation (legacy) books. For me, it's hard to let go of a truly wonderful family of characters once I've become emotionally invested in them, and, smiling, worrying, and at times crying, right along with the characters and the drama. Nicole Jacqueline is an absolutely amazing author. Amazing ! I've re-read every single book in the Aces MC at least twice, with many of them being revisited several times, in fact. Don't think I'll ever get tired of experiencing them. I give this book, and the entire Aces MC series actually, my highest recommendation. Five Stars !
If this is your first time reading Nicole’s books maybe read the Kelly book one for context but honestly it’s fine to skip it and it will still make sense.
Nicole you do such amazing work every time. To keep to the same genre but have each stories be totally different is a serious credit to you. I read every last page and can’t wait for the next books. Thank you ❤️
I am so mad right now. You gave me Steadfast which I LOVED and then followed it up with this.....WHY?!? It just doesn't make sense to me. That why kept me a bit detached from connecting completely with Myla and Cian's story. Loved seeing the Kelly clan. The writing was great, the story flowed but I just don't understand why. Someone please tell me this is a story ARC and we'll get more details
I have enjoyed all of Ms. Jacquelyn's books and this was no exception. This was Myla and Cians book. We met him and his family in the Kelly's book. The prequel to this one. This book was really very good. It just left me with a question about Richie. Will that ever be solved? Thank you!
Nice story, but there’s just was too many other characters from past books (and I’ve read many of them) that distract from the main couple. Also, the situation with Richie, which was the main conflict/danger in the story, came out of nowhere. Cain’s inability to admit his feelings for Myla was also kind of unbelievable.
Myla: The Hawthornes written by the amazing author Nicole Jacquelyn. I loved all the Aces MC stories and this one is a must read. This is Myla Hawthorne and Cian Kelly book, I loved every minute of reading their story. I fell in love with this book and the characters from the very beginning and literally could not put the book down.
I really liked Myla and Cian together. And I will read pretty much anything NJ writes, especially within this MC world. This book was more plot heavy than I prefer, I like it better when the primary focus is the couple, but I still really enjoyed this book overall and I hope NJ continues this series forever! 😝
Myla and Cian. Awesome book. Unexpected storyline. Nicole Jacquelyn pulls you in from the first page and you can’t wait to finish it but then are sad you did. Every single time!! Love this family!
