Rae Lynn Dormer is about to find out just what kind of monsters are lurking in the wilderness of Hells Canyon. Determined to do a good deed, she gives a stranger a ride to a ranger camp nestled deep in the Seven Devils Mountains. The problem is, when she gets there, her new acquaintance turns into a lion in the front seat of her Honda.
When a burly bear comes to her rescue, she’s just about seen it all. The clan holds her captive, but she’s determined to escape. Jesse, the Seven Devils Clan’s sexiest shifter, is laying claim to her heart, and if she doesn’t escape now, she just might become a part of Hells Canyon forever.
Jesse Hayes is done with relationships. He has too much to protect, and history says he’ll fail as a mate. But when Rae comes barreling into his camp, his inner animal has other ideas. She’s attractive, intelligent and fearless, and he’s ready for a mate as strong as her. But if he doesn’t hide his secrets well enough, they could demolish any chance he has with the woman who is stealing his heart.

The end of a great series. I really enjoyed these books. The romance is sappy and full of insta-love, but I loved it anyway. It was a quick book like all the others but it did bring me to tears at one point. If you're looking for a quick romance read, these are the books for you.
I've enjoyed this series so far but this one lacked any sort of depth. A bad case of insta-love and I found the epilogue a bit disappointing. I just didn't get a good grasp of the characters or plot. Overall I found it to be just missing something and at this point I'm not sure I will continue the series
Overall the series was good. There were quite a few editing issues throughout all of the books but they didn't affect the stories too much. The H/h fall in love very quickly in these books but Joyce makes it work in the end.
The h is very likeable but the H makes bad decisions for good reasons. His mistakes cause her to leave which I didn't like to much. He had been in a bad relationship and clearly had not recovered. It was good but not my favourite couple.
It was a great read and I'm sad to know this is the last. :( This series were quick reads. I think they could have been longer books and touched more on the story in depth but I still enjoyed them.
Rae Lynn was hilarious. I so loved her character especially at first when she fought her ass off. It was priceless how she stabbed Jesse in the back with her pocket knife. In her defense she was being kidnapped. lol. I felt bad for Jesse how Miranda treated him. That was just horrible. However, how Jesse treated Rae after he was intimate with her was just no damn excuse. What an ass. Logan told him that too. Well, I think he called him a dick lol. I understand his motives not telling Rae about Jonathan because if he got attached and she left where would that leave that little boy? She wouldnt even commit fully yet. He was gonna tell her once she did. Still a hell of a way to find out. Landon...what the hell! Talk about a low blow and taking advantage of a situation just to get ahead in the clan. Well, he paid for it and was punished. I did like Jesse a lot because he was a good guy and very sweet. They were good for each other. :)
I really loved the relationships between the clans and the family bond they all have with each other. I really wasn’t a big fan on how it ended so quickly. I would have liked to have had an epilogue at the end with like a 5-10 years later and see what happens to all the clan members, how the cubs grew up and what was the clan up to after all those years that passed. Other than that I really love your books
Rae Lynn Dormer, an adoption agent who worked just quit her job after her prick boss refused to giver her a raise and tried insulting her. When she was the only that stay after all her colleagues left the adoption center because of his infuriating attitude towards his employees.
On her out the door, she received a call from Shay Woodard, whom we've met in the previous book, CLAIM THE BEAR. She wanted Rae Lynn to give her ride to Hells Canyon in order to find a family for her young child, Samuel. She agreed but on their way up the mountains, her new acquaintance turned into a Lion. She was saved by a bear who turned into a handsome stranger.
Jesse Hayes, second-in-command to the Alpha of the Seven Devils swore he was finished with relationships. He loved his job, his son and his clan. He didn't have time for a mate but when the beautiful, strong and smart Rae came into their camp, his bear had other plans. He was smitten by the woman.
But the man was running scared after the pain he suffered from his ex. He was afraid that Rae would leave him and Jonathan. They were mates and he had to trust that his bear chose her for a reason. Loved the advice Logan (FEALTY OF THE BEAR) gave Jesse. Rae was welcomed by the women of Hells Canyon, she was one of them, no matter what.
HEART OF THE BEAR is the fifth book in T. S. Joyce's HELLS CANYON SHIFTERS series. It was fun, adventurous and alluring. What an amazing way to end this magnificent series. Fantastic job by T. S. Joyce!
Jesse Hayes always wanted a mate and family. His ex didn’t and left Jesse and their cub as soon as she could. Rae Lynn Dormer had a horrible day even before Shay called, begging for unusual help for her infant. Having been the child in that scenario Rae Lynn couldn’t say no, hence a five-hour road trip.
Watching Rae drive onto clan lands, Jesse’s enchanted but displeased to see a jittery Shay in the passenger seat. Feeling Shay shiver next to her, Ray Lynn turns in time to see a lion in Shay’s seat as she avoids the lion’s swipe, forgetting about the handsome man that had been in front of her car where a bear now stood. This was too much!
Grateful for Jesse’s help, Ray Lynn tries to leave but doesn’t and volunteers to help find a pair of missing teen hikers. After a celebratory kiss turns into a claim, Jesse remembers Rae’s human and fumbles how to tell her the rest of his secrets as his ex decides it’s time to come home to her family. Jesse chafes since he should’ve explained things first. Rating: 4stars
I loved this entire series with twists and turns and strong women made stronger by strong, caring men. I could read them all over again! The one thing in this particular book that bothered me is that they said that Jesse was a black bear and in book 3 (Reese and Ethan's story) the author stated that Jesse was an Andean bear. I know the reason behind it is because in her books, Andean's are pretty much the least dominant bears and in book 5 Jesse is fighting to become Ethan's second. I see why she changed it but maybe it wo8ld be even better if she did keep him as an Andean just to prove how much heart Jesse truly has. Still love Jesse and Rae's love story!!!
Shifter romance - challenges, family and romance all wrapped up in one story.
Rae raised by a single mom knew sacrifice and hardworking but family was not something she had a anymore so working at a place that handled adoptions was a perfect match. She thought so until he boss fired everyone and her job became impossible the a urgernt cry for help brings her to call the bear clan where Jessie. Jessie world is flipped up side down. This is a breast book for some that thinks they don't fit in or needs to under family is diverse and not cookie cut. Violence2 I mean shifters always have fighting, sex 1 not innocent.
Or clan? Enjoyed this Wrap of the Hell’s Canyon series. Liked that the last story was about a human and bear bonded pair. One that didn’t change. Brings it full circle from the first story. Loved how the clans evolved from the first book. Only thing left unsaid is the lack of shifter females, which means humans would have been sought to be turned so the population would grow. Actually would love to have another series where by chance the meet up with another unknown to them shifter clan. Maybe from South America? A lot of Europeans left after WW2 and settled there, can say some shifters resettlement sprung up.
I bought the book before any of the rest of them. It was good alone. When l found more of her books I bought another book that was in the middle of a series as well. It was a good novel by itself as well. When l discovered the other stories in the series I re-read this one and it was richer. I was cute on it 's own, but I Loved the continued story of the group of books
This was the final installment of the Hells Canyon Shifters. Jesse and Rae must get through their differences in order to be together. Will the bond forge between them be strong enough to keep them together? I highly recommend this book, but you should really read the series from the beginning. Good ending to a strong series. Enjoy
This whole series had me on the edge of my chair and this is my third time rereading it. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry and you’ll yell as you get into this world and the crazy antics that these beloved characters pull fun stunts and antics and their ever loyalty to each other, their alphas and their treasured mates!
This is a terrific series. The characters, the writing and the storyline are fantastic! If you luv shifters like I do, you can't miss this series. Ms Joyce is a master storyteller and that is the highest compliment I can pay an author. Very, very highly recommended.
So this was a nice heartwarming wrap up I think, but damn was it close near the end (okay really throughout the whole book). It was nice having another type of storyline, while still maintaining the HEA. I adored Jesse, who you only really briefly meet in an earlier book, and Rae was a sweetie too.
Rae Lynn Donner a human, had come to Hells Canyon Oregon to deliver baby Samuel a Lion Shifter, to Beshia, also a Lion Shifter, and her mate Dillion, a Grizzly Bear Shifter to raise. Jessie Hayes a Black Bear Shifter and Forrest Ranger, and seven years old son Jonathan, also a Black Bear shifter, are Rae new family!
I originally thought I'd not like the series after starting the first book due to the plot...but I was wrong. Great storyline that continues throughout all the books. Read them in order as they build on each other.
there where a few things i didnt like about this series but as a whole i really enjoyed it. I liked this book because it showed the growth of the shifters, well the bear shifters anyway. How times are changing and they need to change with them.
Great final book to a great series! Got me glued till the end. I was so glad Jesse, Ethan best friend, got his own story. What a amazing series! Had super fun reading it. Thank you T.S.Joyce. Highly recommended
This book about love seems to answer a lot of question about who we come to love and it seems that the world we live in and the people we meet along the way in this lifetime are the real determants of who we love . This was a great read.
Love the characters and the storyline. This series focuses on the two main characters but allows you to interact with the characters from previous books. Always the Happy Ever After!
This book made me happy. Family is what you make of it. I love that. It reminds me of Kojack; remember that show, and his saying, ‘Who loves you, baby?’ Ya family does.
Out of all 5 of this set I loved this book. The hart act the truth having a single dad with a vile ex tho uses the child as a. Weapon the love that can be blossom throw a step child and step mom. Also love how this book also shows family isn’t always what you think it is
I loved Jessie and Rae. They were perfect for one another. Jessie didn't think he would find an actual mate that he could find with. Rae was sweet and only wanted a family. They found each other at the perfect time!
Ha I loved this one! Again Ethan puts an unpredictable angle on Jesse and Rae Lynn which adds to fun for the readers. This one is extremely enjoyable and has funny moments. I like the characters and I feel that title is perfect.
Nice way to end the series. Glad that Jessie was able to get out of his own way. Rae is a great addtion to the clan. Love how everything came together.
