Losing Traction
My name is Phoebe Rendon. Growing up as the only girl surrounded by the Sinful Souls MC community has never been easy. Outside of the club, I had no life because my brother and his two psycho best friends kept tabs on me. My only out was racing at Point Hellers, the largest and steepest drift mountain in Westbeach, California. Cars were my life, and eight years later, that hasn’t changed. 4.5 GO SPEEDY stars
A different type of second chance.
The first half of this story is told in past and present and from dual POV but mainly from the h Phoebe/Speedy. This got a little hectic and confusing as it seemed to bounce around a bit. I did not mind though as I am a massive fan of Amos The Devils Own MC series, I really enjoyed seeing different sides to the characters from that series. Phoebes brother is a high up member of the sinful souls MC, she was bought up in the club life with her dad being a founder of the club. I got truly excited reading about Meadow and Beast again.
Phoebe is a great h, I like that she is strong, independent and still manages to keep all her femininity.
Ryder is a sexy ass rock star from Twisted Transistor who Phoebe meets at her brothers bar they hook up for an amazing 2 weeks, then shit happens (not going to spoil it). I liked Ryder, his hot and a rock star whats there not to like :)
Phoebe is working as a fashion stylist and takes on a job to assist a pop princess, who do you think is touring with the pop princess? Yep Ryders band. So will they get a second chance as they tour the globe?
I enjoyed the traveling in this, made it fun to read.
When the band hit New York to play Madison Square Garden a whole lot goes down that I totally didn't see coming.
The characters are all strong and I loved the dynamic between Ryder and his twin Ryker. I found the book a lot slower than other books by this author as it was lacking the grit and suspense of her other books. I feel this book may have been better told only from Phoebes POV as the little chapters from Ryder seemed unnecessary.
What made this book for me though was the heat between Phoebe and Ryder, I mean it was HOT.

this is MC club/rockstar romance and I was eating 👏🏼this👏🏼up👏🏼
I adored the setting of this, Phoebe grew up in westbeach a coastal town, but also has the winding roads of the countryside, in a notorious motorcycle club, however she has a huge love for cars, the track & racing.
2 years ago she has a whirlwind 2 weeks with Ryder Oakley a famous rockstar before he up and leaves her without a goodbye, and when she comes on tour as a stylist with a singer, Ryders band are on tour with the singer too and Phoebe and Ryder have to spend the tour together
Now I loved this but I wishhh so much that this was wayyy more developed! Everything just happens too quickly, there’s no real tension between the two of them they go from hating each other to in each others beds too fast, and also some of plot twists in this are SO RANDOM?! and out of the blue and then over before you know it (especially that stuff with Rellik if you’ve read the book wtf was that about lol) plus, it’s quite instalove and there is not grovelling after the third act breakup either which was disappointing as it’s the second time he left her 🙄 I truly think I would’ve given this 5 stars if the book was longer and the storyline explored in more detail!

Wow. I freaken loved this book!
I swear with every new book Amo releases I'm blown away by how much more I like the current book. They keep getting better and better. I was hooked from start to finish, unfortunately I got crazy busy so I waited to write my review in order to give the book justice.
This is the spin off series of Sinful Souls MC. You do not need to read the series in order to read this one, but it can help. Not only is the MC series good but it gives you an understanding when side characters and past stories are brought up.
Phoebe is Blake's sister (The VP of Sinful Souls MC) so she's also known as the princess of the MC. She understands chaos but at the same time she's been sheltered from the hardness of the club so she's kind of soft and innocent.
She meets Ryder one night at her brothers club and they become inseparable for two weeks. Then one day he just ups and leaves in the middle of the night with out a goodbye, no note, text, post it, shoot even a shake on the shoulder saying peace out would have been nice.
Two years later Phoebe and Ryder's paths cross and once again that pull between them is undeniable. However it doesn't come easy. Phoebe doesn't trust Ryder. He left her once already heartbroken and confused and Ryder knows nothing about relationships so he screws up...a lot.
There were several twist and turns in the story that were crazy shocking and left Ryder and Phoebe at odds but ultimately they found their happiness. They were such a cute couple and once Ryder got his head out his ass him and Phoebe were seriously perfect.
This book sets up the next couple of stories and has me craving more. I seriously can't wait!

Rockin it out with some fast cars and some bad boy bikers, what's not to love?
Phoebe Rendon is a sassy, full of life sister to a member of the Sinful Souls Biker club. She has grown up her whole life with bad boys and tough men, so she knows how to stand her ground. She is strong and I love that about her, but when it comes to a broody and confident rockstar by the name of Ryder Oakley, Phoebe can't keep her focus.
After spending an amazing two weeks with him, thinking there was something to their time together - he up and left without a word, a note, nothing, not even a goodbye. Jerk right?
When years later she feels like even though she still holds a flame for him, she might finally be over the pain of his sudden departure, he is thrust back into her life when she takes on a job working for superstar Alyx Munroe, who just happens to be touring with Ryder’s megawatt band.
Their chemistry - electric, their fate - undeniable. Can their attraction to each other withstand the time they are forced to spend together, or will cupid intervene and shoot his bow straight into their hearts, forcing them to admit their love for each other.
I loved this book hard, Amo has done a fantastic job of combining the rockstar with biker and I have to say the infusion is absolutely perfect. (Plus Ryker – Ryder’s brother is officially my new book boyfriend - just sayin').

The writing was choppy in several areas, but over all, I found the story just fine. Ryder though. Huh, I LOVED Phoebe but Ryder was a little baby at times. His insecurities and reasoning for leaving Phoebe was a bit weak. Not to mention, he had major mood swings in the beginning areas. Kind of gave me whiplash.
I really look forward to more from this series. It was very interesting and hope that ESPECIALLY Meadow (+Beast?) and even Rellik will get their own stories as well! Going to jump into Ryker, Ryder's twin brother's, story!!

This just wasn't my cuppa. It started out decent, but ended up being too messy. There was so much going on... the MC biker family, rocker boyfriend, kidnapping and I kind of lost interest after a while.

I am a huge fan of Amo Jones and everything I have read of hers so far has blown me away and that was no different with this book. Phoebe grabbed my attention when I first read about her in One Hundred and Thirty-Six Scars, and we only get a few glimpses of her but I couldn't wait to read more of her story. I knew Ryder and Ryker would be pretty awesome characters and I knew I would have a love-hate relationship with these hot rockstars!
So many of my questions from my first read of Phoebe to my now understanding of her makes complete sense and I am so very hungry for more! I freaking LOVE Ryker and I can't wait to dive into his story!! Phoebe is one of those girls you want to know because she is sexy on the inside and out, I think she is, so far, my favorite female character of Ms. Jones'. Events that took place in this book had me trying to read my fastest because I had to know what was going to happen next. I love everything about Amo Jones and her style of writing because she always has me at the edge of my seat craving more.

First let me say that I had to 'google' cane corso cause I have never seen one and was curious. This story is about Phoebe and Ryder, characters that you see in the other books. It is their story. I did like it, was wanting to read how they came about.

From Race cars to rock stars with a little bit of MC club in between.
The cover and synopsis sold me on this book straight away. This story was clearly created to be a little different: a female racing driver, brought up in a MC club who falls in love with a rock star. A dream scenario you may think!
I hadn't read the Sinful Souls MC series before starting Losing Traction and I felt that this made the story overly confusing. As a result, I wasn’t able to fully connect with the characters or be able to relate to them without understanding their backgrounds. I did love the main characters though especially Ryder and Ryker who sold themselves to me immediately. I loved the feistiness of Phoebe and her strength and determination is definitely a selling point in this story.
The start of the book, for me, was very disjointed and unnecessary. I could see that the author was trying to set the scene for readers who hadn’t read her previous books. However, once it settled down into the present day I was quickly absorbed by the story. My enjoyment did lapse again sadly towards the end of the book when I found I was just too exhausted trying to keep up with the numerous characters, their contributions to the story and where the book was heading next. There were also some issues with the writing whereby sentences didn't make sense and despite re-reading paragraphs on occasion I still found myself too confused to settle into the flow of the book.
This really could have been a great book though and I am sure those people who have read then Sinful Souls MC series will be blown away by this story.

Riiight....so I think I'm going to move!
I'm going to pack up all my shit and re-locate...and I'm going to set up home right inside the mind of Amo Jones!
Her books always hit the mark!
They tick every box!
They fucking rock!
The characters are perfect and scarred and fucked up and I am completely in love with them all!
I'm literally working my way through her books and last night I read Losing Traction and then as soon as I finished that - I rolled straight into F*cker!
Seriously though Amo - Ryder was delicious!
Yes...he annoyed me greatly with some of the things he did...
Like twice!
But he was so perfectly fractured that the balance between his emotions and his actions was so well written!
The way you transitioned between the past with a memory and the present was absolutely perfect!
Oh wow and Phoebe?!
Honestly - I fucking loved this girl!
She was this book!
You know when you watch an awesome movie that is made so much better by certain actresses portraying the role and you walk away thinking - yep she absolutely made that movie so much better?!
Well that was Phoebe for me!
She was tough but in a way that was completely endearing and relatable! Her feelings were so palpable throughout the entire novel that by the time I finished I was wishing she was one of my best friends!
I know we all need a "Melissa" in our inner sanctum but a Phoebe is a MUST have!!
So...after re-living Ryder and Phoebe's story I threw myself into Rykers (who, by the way, was fucking hilarious in Losing Traction, loved him from the get go!!!) it got to nearly 2am and I forced my self to put F*cker down because unfortunately I've got work to do today and you are trying your fucking hardest to impede me but...

We gotta date later this afternoon!!
And it's totally cool - it wont be flowers and rainbows but I'm tipping it'll be the best bumpiest ride ever!
I have a sneaking suspicion though that he is going to break my heart buuuuuuuut knowing Amo and her babies, I recon he's going to put me back together again by the time it's over

Make some space for me baby...my bags are packed!!!

This is my first book by author Amo Jones and my goodness she did not disappoint me at all. Phoebe Rendon has a family unlike most of us. They are in the Sinful Souls MC club. And her brother loves her without a doubt and wants to protect her with his life. But he can also maybe be a little over protective. Phoebe loves all things fast and she wants nothing more than to live her life driving fast cars but that takes money so she takes a job that she really doesn't like too much in order to fulfill her life long dream of owning her own track. So she works as a fashion consultant and needs to go on the road for one last job to get the money she needs to make all this work. Never did she expect to find him again, the man that she once thought she loved. Until the day he left her. Can she continue with this job that she needs to finish out her dreams? Or will she lose it because of him, the rocker that she once thought loved her too, Ryder Oakley, in all of his glorious hotness that she once thought she loved. And who she thought once loved her. But something has changed he is no longer the nice man that she thought she loved but he is cold hearted to her. But what did she do? Does he really hate her that much? Also you have his twin brother that looks just like him. Can she get the answers she desperately needs to know? Why did he leave her so long ago? Why couldn't he just talk to her? Is there a chance that things can be different with them or will she lose herself in the process? This book is a romantic, suspenseful, rocker book with some MC thrown in too. At times I cried and laughed all the while wanting at times to reach into the pages of this book and strangle the men all at one time. Amo Jones is a wonderful author who really has a winner in this book. Everyone should one click this book and or put it on your TBR list on Goodreads as soon as possible.

I wish it could give it more but the last 40% of the book fell flat for me.
When I read the discretion I thought "how is this author going to pull off a h who is a celebrity styles, car junkie, daughter to a MC VP and make the H an epic alpha Rock Star"??????
The h was actually really likeable. She's pretty bad ass but not in the over the top I'm a tough Mc daughter blah blah blah been there done that. She knew who she was and what she wanted out of life. Willing to work hard to get it. Super sweet, could make friends with pretty much anyone.
What put me off was how busy the last half of the book was. Felt like the author was shoving too many characters and plot twist down the readers throat and setting up her next books. Toooooo many organizations in one book
We have two different MC clubs, the Russians, Rock Starts and then towards the ending The Army "whoever the hell they are"
Then towards the ending shit happens (serious shit) h calls her boyfriend H and needs him to jump on a plane to come right away because of said shit and needs to talk see him. He gets there all worried and she is all smiles and giggles and not at all reacting the way a one does in these types of situations.
Kinda pisses me off now that I'm thinking about it...... My h who is strong and bad ass turns into a bobble head towards the end..... Gosh damn it!!
I honestly don't know how I feel about this book now.... the beginning was great, maybe a 5 start for me but the last half fucked it to hell.
When I read the discretion I thought "how is this author going to pull off a h who is a celebrity styles, car junkie, daughter to a MC VP and make the H an epic alpha Rock Star"??????
The h was actually really likeable. She's pretty bad ass but not in the over the top I'm a tough Mc daughter blah blah blah been there done that. She knew who she was and what she wanted out of life. Willing to work hard to get it. Super sweet, could make friends with pretty much anyone.
What put me off was how busy the last half of the book was. Felt like the author was shoving too many characters and plot twist down the readers throat and setting up her next books. Toooooo many organizations in one book
We have two different MC clubs, the Russians, Rock Starts and then towards the ending The Army "whoever the hell they are"
Then towards the ending shit happens (serious shit) h calls her boyfriend H and needs him to jump on a plane to come right away because of said shit and needs to talk see him. He gets there all worried and she is all smiles and giggles and not at all reacting the way a one does in these types of situations.
Kinda pisses me off now that I'm thinking about it...... My h who is strong and bad ass turns into a bobble head towards the end..... Gosh damn it!!
I honestly don't know how I feel about this book now.... the beginning was great, maybe a 5 start for me but the last half fucked it to hell.

I got an advanced copy of this book for an honest review and OMG I freaking loved it!!! I'm so glad i was gifted one. When I started reading this book I could not put it down.
I seriously got a major girl crush on Phoebe. Shes a character who you just want to fall in love with. Being the MC princess and a race car driver... hmm i'm fantasizing about a girl now bahaha... Shes sassy, crude, sexy and she gives as well as she takes. Shes got a set of brass balls if i ever seen them. Taking a job in fashion to bid her time to get her racing circuit up and running she never expects to run into Ryder the man who broke her heart so many years ago.
Ryder... hmm yup I crushed on him as well... He was an @$$ about 50% of the time but when he wasnt he was determined to win her heart she swore she would never give back to him. But like always Ryder screws things up again...

I am always thrilled when I have the opportunity to read a new author. Whether a debut or previous released selection. I was offered this ARC and I am so glad. A 5 star rating isn't even close to emphasizing its qualities \magnitude.
Don't let the label spin off deter from reading. I had no problems reading as a standalone start to a new series. But !!!! I do know after completing this one I will definitely be reading any other work.
So many positives. Excellent storytelling- Unique interesting storyline- elements/themes for a great book are met-characters that leap off the pages- primary and secondary roles excel -very quit read- complete engrossment into story- full of emotional attachments-smooth format- obvious grammatical and editing review etc.... I could keep listing. I really don't have any negatives.

I absolutely fell head over heart in girl crush with Phoebe. She's spectacular. Growing up as an MC princess and having a passion for driving fast cars has shaped her into a sassy, smart, and sexy gal. She takes a job in fashion until the time she can get her circuit up and running. A circuit that will bring in women drivers like herself and the people who want to see them drive. Before she can get to it, she has to make it through the tour from hell. Not only is her charge hard to handle, but she also has a blast from the past on board. Ryder broke her heart once before and she's bound and determined that he can't do it again. Ryder has other plans for her heart. He's going to try and win it back, but he's going to muck it up a bit along the way. I so loved their story.

I am definitely starting my new year off with a bang. This book is awesome. Phoebe is an exceptional character. She has grown up in the MC lifestyle. She knows what they do even though she is sheltered from it yet she is a loving beautiful soul. She is a racer at heart even though her current job is just a place holder till her circuit is complete. Her last assignment brings her face to face with the rock star who broke her heart.
Ryder is shocked to see Phoebe walk into the plane. He planned to never see her again so it's like a punch to the gut. He seems to run instead of staying when things get tough. His heart is huge even though he tries to push her away.
This is a great storyline. I love Ryder and Ryker is an absolute nut. I can't wait to see his story.

I love when an author has the same sense of humor and loves/likes as I do. I feel as though I sat down and had a girls night as Amo typed away our likes-fantasies and plots... There are so many ways this book can spin off, I need the bands stories but I need more Blake he's got more to say and Ade just have him in a well placed sex scene and we are all good.

Wow this book was excellent I could not put it down. Phoebe is sass personified. She is a loud girl who does not back down as you would expect being the MC princess. She loves living on the edge racing fast cars and her family is her number 1 priority. Ryder is the lead singer in a band along with his twin brother Ryker. They had a brief fling 2 years ago and he left without a goodbye shattering her heart. A new job opens for Phoebe and guess who is there aha Ryder. Do they or don't they and should they or shouldn't they. It's fast paced and and absolutely fab read

Not sure how this book is rated 4.39 stars.
It started pretty well then lost the plot. It needs to be edited, badly! It's not a great thing when the author can't spell the heroine's name!
Phoebe is an imbecile, Ryder is a horror and the introduction of 427 other characters was so confusing I gave up trying to keep track of who's who.
It lacked flow and depth and was so focused on setting up the supporting character's books this storyline failed.
Also, who the heck calls their kid 'Pipper'?!

I have several of Amo's works on my TBR but this was my first to crack open; no disappointments here! I am kicking myself for waiting so long to dive in and am looking forward to reading more of it.

I love Phoebe she's a different female character to most I have read out there. I love that she's a racer want to own her own race circuit. Ryder I like because he's a smart ass and Ryder when he's being good is good but when he's being an asshole he really ups his assholeness.
I enjoyed reading this, great characters, lots of different things going on mixing MC, rockers and racers.

Unfortunately this has to go down as a DNF, I don't do this very often and hate leaving the story but I really couldn't continue. I found myself rolling my eyes constantly. I know many of you loved this book but it wasn't for me - sorry !

This book was something else nothing like I expected it to be it was ten times better. But I should of known that cause the queen of writing twisted books wrote it lol. I love the Oakley brothers well twins lol. They are just so out there and different I can't get enough. I also love pheobe I have girl crush on her lol. I'm honestly hoping I get more of all of them.

I can't believe I missed these two books!! I'm so glad I finally got to them! Phoebe and Ryder, while not as dark as some of this Author's other couples, they were a refreshing change. Just enough angst to have me throwing my kindle and cursing their names, but steamy, swoony, and even sweet!! I enjoyed this one so hard!! I can't wait to get to Ryker's story next!!

This is my first book by Amo I've read... OMG why have I not read any books by this amazing author before now??? have I been living under a rock (or in a book) ???

Losing Traction is a kind of spin-off series I believe, from Amo's Sinful Souls MC series.... which I totally need to read now that I have met most of the characters in this book that star in the Sinful series

She has everything planned out...
get through this last tour as the stylist for a pop diva... the retire and concentrate on her racetrack

That is until she meets the supporting tour act... Twisted Transistor

There is plenty of drama, it was lol funny, full of surprises and suspense
it really gripped me from page 1
I loved the MC bond and how they are like a big family that would kill for each other...
I also really loved the boys of Twisted Transistor...we NEED books for those boys to please Amo :)
But I can honestly say what made the book for me was Ryker<3 ... Ryder's twin brother, who is also a member of Twisted Transistor

He I funny as hell... OMG he had me nearly peeing myself laughing :) ... he is awesome
I also loved how he was with Phoebe, he treated her like a sister and was so sweet with her... they were so funny when they are goofing around together
he was a really sweet guy to Phoebe, Ryder and his friends
Ryker is my fave character and he totally made the book for me...

Losing Traction by Amo Jones is book one in the Westbeach series of books and it does not disappoint.
Phoebe Rendon is the heroine of the story. A sassy, fierce and strong-willed woman who comes from a very interesting and protected MC background. Phoebe has a love for cars, all types of cars, as long as they go fast and hard. Her life has been difficult and challenging, but she works hard and is on her way to fulfilling her dreams.
Flashback to Ryder Oakley, the hero of the story. Ryder, hot, broody, rock god and undoubtedly attracted to Phoebe. However, when they first meet things don't go to plan and ultimately they are torn apart. Fast forward to today when they meet again by chance. Will they get together again? Or will everything go sour? I love the interaction between these two. The chemistry is off the charts hot and I have found another book boyfriend in Ryder.
Ryker, Ryder's brother who is also in the band Twisted Transistor. Phoebe and Ryker have a hot and cold, brother/sister type relationship and I absolutely loved Ryker. I cannot wait for Ryker's story and I am looking forward to reading it.
