On the seventh day of the seventh year… she desecrates.
Evil keeps a formidable schedule in Weston, West Virginia. Every seventh year, spirits from the town's abandoned insane asylum seek worthy souls to command. But this seventh year, a desecration unlike any before is scheduled to ravage the town. And Solomon Gorge is lured to the harrowing event by the screams of Silence.
I’m a husband and author, and I may be a little religious about both. I like writing hot sex and encapsulating it in the delicate white silk of devotion, commitment, and psychotic obsession.
This is my first Lucian Bane read and I have to say, his writing is amazing. This book was more unsettling than I expected. The story is creepy, maddening, mind-blowing, heartbreaking, haunting, disturbing, mysterious, blowingly erotic all at once, and I loved it!!
Chaos is a sad, lost soul who has never received love. And if she has never received love, how can she love others?
Solomon has his own secrets. He is a lone wolf who thinks that love has forgotten him. He deeply loved a woman once but now he has condemned himself to loneliness and emotional relinquishment.
But, sweet Chaos makes his blood boil. Solomon will eventually prove her that she is capable to love and feel love, and that she can abandon herself and her logical reasoning in the name of love.
This is worth picking up and reading. It was a brilliant read, something very different and thought provoking and I look forward to reading more of Lucian Bane’s books.
This book needs more than five stars. Mr. Bane does it again and brings the boom to this story. You will get drawn in from the beginning and hooked till the very end. The raw emotions you will feel, along with the chills. The emotions are real and makes you feel as your experiencing them with the characters.
This is a dark romance and some parts may hit home to some that experienced parts of the story. I cried, I felt, got mad, sad, happy through out this whole story. I connected with the story but with the characters also. All the pain and suffering comes with love good and bad. A love that builds and gets stronger.
Solomon & Chaos story will take you on a journey that's just beginning. Two people that don't know each other, come together and learn. The town they live in has a curse and it's time for the curse to end. Only its not that simple and there are battles that will be faced.
Amazing job Lucian on another amazing book. A must read for sure. I can't wait for the next book in the series and sure hope you plan on writing that really soon ;-) I need to know what happens.
HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL!! What a 5 Star thrill filled read!!
Mr Bane aka Cliffhanger King you KILLED IT!! Bravo!!
I can honestly say Desecrating Solomon is unlike anything I have EVER read before. I'm not even sure how to write this review without giving away spoiler. The amount of emotions I felt while reading this book had me feeling like I was apart of the story. Desecrating Solomon: A Forbidden Erotica Thriller was the perfect followup to The Mercy Trilogy!
Solomon Gorge has moved back to Weston WV to help take care of Ms Mary. Little does he know that one night his life will change. Awaken by someone or something yelling his name he sets out into the woods to find out what or who is need.
Chaos has been sent to by Master to seek Solomon out to help in The Desecration of Desecrations. However things don't go as she had planned. Will Solomon give up his beliefs and help Chaos save the people of Weston? I'm not saying.
So if you are looking for a dark read with a shit ton of thrilling twist and turns and unlike anything you've ever read then this is the book for you!<\b><\i>
A beautifully twisted tale full of romance, suspense, and dash of heart pounding horror! Travel into the dark mind of Lucian Bane thru the eyes of Solomon and Chaos. A slow burning fire builds from the beginning between our love birds in this riveting read, their romance story unlike any other you will ever have the pleasure of indulging yourself in! Solomon is sexy, full of compassion , heart, faith and wit while our heroine Chaos is the quiet, introverted ignorant ( and I don't mean that rudely) victim of a religious cult jumping straight out of something resembling Children of the Corn! And that one scene ( which I won't spoil), left me staring with my mouth hanging wide open. You will definitely never find another narrative that even comes close to Desecrating Solomon! Master is a piece of work in himself, the classic villain we love to hate. He's a man with no mercy and filled to the brim with evil intentions. And what he wants to do with our Hero and Heroine does not include an invitation to dinner. Well...maybe it does, I guess we will have to see!
Bane leisurely lures the reader in and just when you feel like its time to turn back, he's already got his claws in you! His descriptive ability blows my imagination clean out of the water. And although I'm a fan of suspense/mystery/horror this tale had me reading with the lamp on in the last 20%. But damn that spine tingling feeling hurt so good!! I waited quite awhile for Desecrating Solomon to make an appearance and not only did Bane not disappoint but he rocked my socks off!! This book is one of my favorites for 2015 and has placed itself into Alicia's list of books she likes to reread!! I'll be waiting impatiently to see Lucian's next creation!
Desecrating Solomon has a unique story line that will draw you in from page one. I think there may have been lapses of time where everything else ceased to exist while I was on this adventure in West Virginia.
Solomon & Chaos are your primary characters; Solomon is a stand up dude. I like his sense of humor, his giving heart and his protective nature. Chaos is a bit on the strange side, naive and sheltered but there is still this strong willed woman beneath what she has been conditioned to be. The subsidiary characters in this book are awesome. Between Miss Mary & Jimmy I often felt like I was in a scene with some of my older relatives. They also helped to bring some comedic relief between some pretty intense and sometimes disturbing scenes.
The story was well written, unpredictable and rich with plot twists, turns and pivots. You go from "Oh hell no" to "Are you fuckin' serious!" The character development is on point throughout the book; it isn't as if Solomon & Chaos just fell for each other ..you actually get to see the falling.
The background story is just as in depth and enthralling as the plot. The history of the asylum will blow your mind and the "realness" of the occult in this story is disturbing because it isn't that far fetched from reality.
Amazing book that will literally have you both scared and anxious to turn the page. It is written well and in such a way that you will easily read it from beginning to end while tuning out the real world. Can't wait to read the next one.
Oh my, where to start? What a freaking crazy ride through a brilliant writers scary mind! Solomon and Chaos oh what twisted scary plans are ahead for you? A story that brings you through heartache, terror, mind control, confusion, shock, disgust, hope, love and so much more. Lucian manages to show some real evilness as well as lessons in love and overcoming your past and fears. To bad Solomon has only just begun to realize what absolute crazy is in this scary as shiz town. I love him with the crotchety Miss Mary such a great relationship and how he manages to overcome lost love and care again but will they live to enjoy it? Chaos is such a strong yet achingly fragile somehow still innocent character you just ache for her. What this poor girl has endured is nauseating and you feel it so much that you just want to protect her yourself and do horrible things to Master!! Lucian has brought us to a new level with this book and it's scary as crap asylum and cult and addictive story. I could not put this story down at all,I read it in one sitting and oh Lucian what a way to leave us hanging you cruel man!! Oh what creepily amazing stories you weave!!! A standing ovation from me!
Wow! Lucian Bane done it again! Lucian knows how to bring the emotions out in his stories and you end up feeling them all through the characters. I love Solomon he is so caring. Poor Chaos, she is so broken, I feel so crushed for her. Master is just so evil and creepy. I loved every twist in this book, it keeps you on the edge and wondering what was coming next! Definitely a MUST READ!!!!
Copy gifted by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Holy Batman! What did I just read??? I need more now! I will confess that this is my first time reading a Lucian Bane book...Well, I will stalk him now and read all his work because his writing is fantastic!
I will not give away any spoilers so I will simply say that this book is one of the best I've read in a while. The complexity of the characters, the unique plot, the humor and the eroticism of this book are beyond this world. I could not put this book down and I wanted to sponge every detail because it mattered. Solomon is an amazing hero. His humor, kindness and general sizzling persona had me glued to my Kindle. Chaos...Naive, brainwashed Chaos was simply lovable. I really want her to get out of this mess stronger and alive. The secondary characters were magnificent. If you like a little insanity, creepy woods, religious orders that brainwash people and of course, hotness in your books, then what are you waiting for? Pick this baby up now so we can all beg for the next installment to arrive soon. Do not miss this.
Just like all the Lucians book I was blown away, I couldn't put it down. Soloman was a very interesting man that has had heart break and a good man. Master was just pure evil. I felt so sorry for Chaos. There were so many times in the story I was like OMG, that pure girl. Definitely a page turner and a book you can't put down. Can't wait for the next in the series.
Yep. It's the build up that kills you. The part on the roller coaster where you are climbing and with every "tick tick" of the coaster climbing your heart beats faster and faster knowing the drop is coming. That was this first book. My heart was beating knowing the drop was coming. Knowing something big but then in Lucian Bane fashion...he leads you to the edge and says "to be continued". Brat. However in this book we are introduced to many characters, all I'm assuming, will play a big part in this mystery of Luna Asylum. There are hints dropped here and there that leaves you with so many questions that you are dying to know the answers to. It's so easy to fall in love with Solomon. What an awesome character. Chaos/Silence my heart goes out to. I'm hoping Lucian starts to show a little bit of strength coming from her in the next book. I would love nothing more than to see her kick some major ...you know. This is a definite read!
I have read all of Lucian Banes books, so going into this one I knew it was going to be a great one. But I was wrong, this book, for me, was beyond anything I could have imagined! Once I started reading it, it was near impossible to put down. This story is so well written that it grabbed me and pulled me right in. It evoked feelings of rage for "master" ...deep compassion and understanding for Silence and profound admiration for Solomon. I experienced a lot of emotions while reading this book from laughing to sadness, hatred, fear, anticipation and love just to name a few. Being a "dark" book, I know bad things happen, but even that has no comparison to the twist and turns I did not see coming! This book is haunting and terrifying and mysterious, I was left dealing with shock of what I just read. Trying to piece together what is going on, who, why, how...I found myself asking these questions. I was turning the pages absorbing the information, wanting desperately to find those answers! This story is just getting started and I can't wait to discover what is in store for us in the next two books! Hurry, hurry pleeeease!!
At the beginning, I liked this novel. The author sets up well the horrific situation of her story. And she gives us just enough information to sustain the atmosphere of horror she created.
Then I realized that it was a cult story and that the grave sin of the people in the village was abortion. That's when I started to back off.
I am an atheist and all these stories of people obsessed with a religion, whatever it is, makes me uncomfortable. For me, religions are just a bunch of lies passed down from parents to children for centuries. And considering abortion as an unforgivable sin is what I find unforgivable. In any case, I wanted to give the author the benefit of the doubt and went on reading her novel.
But the straw that broke the camel's back is that the end is not an end at all. It's a cliffhanger.
At the very beginning, I’d have given four stars to this book (one star removed mostly because of many mistakes). Towards the middle, I was leaning towards three stars. But because of the cliffhanger, I removed another star. When I know that a novel ends with a cliffhanger, I don't read it; but I didn't know that this time. And I certainly wouldn't encourage an author who uses this kind of pathetic process to get readers to read the sequels. So I give two stars to this novel.
Wow. This book has left me speechless. You could feel the pain and sadness throughout the entire book. Chaos has had a terrible life. She has been horribly brainwashed and you can't help but want to steal her away and protect her. Then here comes Solomon who has also had so much heartbreak. They bond together and he feels the need to protect her, save her, and love her. Little does he know how big the consequences of loving Chaos are. As I sat reading this I could picture every moment clearly as if it were playing on a movie reel in front of me. I could picture everything clear as day as if I have lived the moments they are experiencing. The pain Chaos has had to deal with was gut wrenching. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Solomon has his faith and it's amazing to be able to use that and really feel it. You cant help but feel what these people felt and go through during this entire book. I am patiently waiting for the next installments. I can't wait to see the outcome of the Masters plan and pray that he gets what he deserves. Miss Mary is absolutely adorable and would love to have someone like her in my life. This book was worth the wait and by not reading the snippets helped me live this book more. Thank you Lucian for another favorite in the literary world. Bravo!!
After reading all the snippets in my inbox every morning, I couldn't wait for the book to release, and OMG i was not dissapointed, Lucian Bane takes it to another level with the start of this new trilogy. This is a dark read so tread carefully this book could cause some triggers. I love Solomon he is so careing, strong, kind and loving, Chaos, even with everything she has gone through is quite nieve and in a way innocent, another person i love is Miss Mary, i wish i had a miss Mary. But oh my bloody good god!!!!! Lucian how can you leave us like that??!!!! now i will be impatiently waiting for book 2. I have read all of Lucians books i am a big fan of his writing, i thought i had my favourite, but now i'm not so sure, Desecrating Solomon completly blew me away, i read half before i went to bed, but i knew i wouldn't sleep much, it was on my mind, the words going round and round in my head, i could picture everything happening. Lucian Bane is so good with words, they get a grip of you and don't let go. I really wish i could give more than 5* as its worth some much more. Another winner for Lucian Bane, one you don't want to miss. #BOOM# Lucian, can't wait for part 2
Oh my, where do I even begin? My mind has officially been blown away! I feel like I have been waiting on this book for a life time, the snippets, the teasers had dragged me in, hooked me and not for filled the craving for Solomon! However last night the teasing was over, I finally got my hands on it, and the torment still didn't stop! I finished reading at 6:15 this morning and I've had book hangovers before but this was a whole new level, I found myself trapped within the woods of West Virginia just wondering around trying to piece together the insanely what lays here. Right now I am a crazy train of emotions.
Each time Lucian releases a new book I think how can it possibly get any better than the brilliance that has come before it, however in this case I was so awfully wrong. He has truly went to the next level with Desecrating Solomon (the first in the Desecrating series), I was captured and consumed.
Lucian has written this story in such a way that I felt like I was there watching what was going on around me, I was experiencing everything with them,every emotion, every moment! I was hooked and pulled I from the very beginning, page after page I could not stop wanting more, needing more!! The twists, the turns and the emotional battles all of which are so unpredictable, had me shocked, had me screaming and almost had my kindle take flight and I loved every single second of it all. Solomon and Chaos are your primary characters and my gosh what characters they are indeed;
Solomon has definitely become my most favourite. He is strong and yet full of kindness, he has a brilliant sense of humour that he can deliver perfectly in difficult situations. His protective nature is strong, his giving heart and undeniable innocent. All of which captivates you so much more! Chaos is sheltered, uniquely different and determined but there behind the brokenness that she does not realists, is a strong willed women! Chaos has had many names, all with a strong message, unique and powerful. However within the depths of hell, will we come to realise that Chaos is in fact what she may bring or will she find a new name to fit her burning personality.
The secondary characters in this book are incredible and every bit as powerful as Solomon and Chaos! My, my Miss Mary what can I say about her, she is amazingly quaint! She may be an elderly women but she knows her mind isn't afraid to speak it, she is strong and full of sass. Mad Man Jimmy; I'm still not sure of what to make of this man. He seems to be full of wise and knowledgeable information. He stays away from human interaction, every one thinks he is crazy but you know what they say about the crazy ones. 'Crazy people are considered man by the rest of the society only because their intelligence isn't understood'
The Luna Hills Trans Asylum what a deliciously creepy place, it's such a normal almost beautiful name for a place that should just scream 'Run, crazy lay behind these doors'. The terrifying unexpected things that are playing out before us is peek through the curtains dreading and so very intriguing.
There are far more unanswered questions than answers that will leave you wondering until the second book. This tail is left on a cliffhanger and oh my beating heart what a cliffhanger it is, you are deliciously cruel Mr.Bane. It will drive me to insanity waiting, I will be checking myself into The Luna Hills during this time.
I recommend is book in the highest that I can, a five isn't enough for the standards that are within this book! So if you like thrilling, pulse racing, terrifying romances then this is the book for you! I cannot spoil this read for you, it's a must have, go and see just how addicting it is for yourself.
Ok well in typical Lucian Bane fashion this book has left me feeling like I need a straight jacket.
This started slow for me, LB's writing has a way of making me feel a little inferior....leaving my head scrambling to piece together what the hell I am actually reading....then BAM! around half way I am speed reading, desperate to find out what happens next and praying it gives me a tiny bit of insight to a million questions..
The books introduces us to a fucked up cult that believes Solomon is the sacrifice for "The Desecration of Desecrations"... I know right...FUCKED UP! and I can't explain anything about it because it would totally ruin the book.
I am having sort of a love/hate thing going with this because it just wasn't great...but holy shit it was weird and insanity, asylums, cults and unbelievable sexual religious acts are in full swing so I was sucked in. Just when things were piecing together...LB pulled his worst cliffhanger of all and then the fucker LAUGHED at me! Damn it I need the next book!
Jaw-dropping.. Spine-chilling.. Hot as hell.. Damn it has it all...
There really aren't words to describe how insanely amazing this book really is! The story itself, being based on true events, is shocking unto itself. But reading about the torment, the emotional anguish, the terror, was hard... because I felt it. I felt the harsh brutality of what Solomon and Beautiful/Chaos were going through. My heart bled for them. I wanted to reach in and grab that sinister..evil..worthless..man called Master and help to make the pain and terror stop. Even though this is a chilling hair-raising read.. There is also Love. Solomon is a good man, a descent man who wants to protect, cherish and love a woman who has been through so much agony. And then there's Beautiful/Chaos a woman who has never been loved, never experienced pleasure, never felt beautiful, inside or out. How they come together is beautifully inspiring. There is still so much of the unknown..mystery..questions that NEED to be answered.. And I know when the last book to this trilogy is written, I will be there to discover all the shocking secrets that we don't know yet! I cannot wait to read what is in store for these characters, will their love survive the evilness, will it survive the truth they might discover...will we? A freaking fantastic story!! One of my favorite quotes: Beautiful/Chaos... "Prepare my body with your love. Desecrate my soul with your passion. Annihilate me." WOW!!
I've been waiting for this second book to come out for what seems like years....but it's only been a few months! The thriller continues for Chaos and Solomon. And when I say, thriller...I mean some heart pounding, dark, terrifying scenes that make me wish I could do something to save these strong characters. It's probably safe to say, do not read this before bed. The terrifying thing is that some of the things in this book are taken from true events. Lucian writes as if you are going through these things WITH the characters. I felt in and out of consciousness as the emotions where taking hold of me. Sometimes I just had to stop and collect myself before continuing. Yes, it was that powerful! Will Solomon and Chaos EVER escape this nightmare? Will love conquer? Questions about those surrounding Solomon and Chaos creep into this story and I was left suspicious of everyone. The ending....WOW! All I can say is "bring on the 3rd book Mr. Bane!"
Close your eyes and prepare to take a trip. A trip full of darkness, of nauseating, whirling confusion. Your brain will be tricked and your heart will be filleted. You will pray for death but death will not find you. In the 2nd installment of Desecrating Solomon, Lucian Bane takes you further into a psychotic world than he ever has before. Your limits will be tested as you struggle along with Solomon and Chaos.
Lucian, here's why im giving you 5 psychoticaly deserved stars
First two stars because... You totally went to hell with this book . This tale is every bit the psychological torture as it is the physical torture for Solomon. And for Chaos. And even Joe. Im sure you put yourself at risk in many ways with this story. But to recreate Texas Chainsaw Massacre-like depths of hell had to have affected you in ways I cannot even imagine. Bravo to you for having the balls, courage, and spirit to navigate this tale.which leads to…. Two refreshing stars because.. Not only did you envision and create a macabre hell serviced with demons comparable only to something out of a Steohen King novel, but you made me FEEL it. Ive read my fair share of dark, horror novels filled with monsters breathing down my back. But today. .. I was chilled to my bones, beaten to my core, the sick itching to climb up my throat as I walked there with Solomon. its a rare and special talent when authors can so literally transport their readers to a whole nother dimension before the reader has even realized it. I smelled the scenct of earth, chemicals and blood in the air while I heard the screams of Chaos behind me and the whispers of Solomon in my ear. Many times I had to remind myself to breathe. To keep my wits about me. To remember. that this is not The Never Ending Story and books dont REALLY come to life.
And another star...The only light in the dark pitts of hell of was the love between a man with the heart of a lion and the brainwashed meek woman reminiscent of a mouse. Solomon will go to the ends of the earth for Chaos. Chaos would lay her life in sacrifice for Solomon. And is this not the very definition of love? That one would lay themselves down for the sake of another?
I envisioned this sequence playing out like a movie in my head and before I knew it Solomon had leaped from the pages into my brain and easily became his own living breathing person. Im not sure a higher compliment can be paid to writer or reader alike as when the character takes on a whole life of their own. I loved this book. It will for sure remain in one of my top reads for 2016. Few have trapped me in my own mind like that of the story of Solomon and its something reminiscent of the master himself, King. Im a huge fan of horror/action/mystery books and this is one packed with all three! Mix in a dose of erotica/romance and this tale fits itself into many differant categories. It will sweep you off your feet in more ways than one! It will creep at the back of your mind like an itch you can't scratch. Now..if your ready.. take Lucian’s hand and he will lead the way. Prepare yourself.
I came across this anonymous quote and it certainly applies to this book: "A good book makes you want to live in the story. A great book gives you no choice."
So again I say, "THIS IS A GREAT BOOK!!" I lived in this story!!
Desecrating Solomon is a beautiful love story, yes...but don't expect all hearts and flowers in this one. There is evil lurking in the halls of the asylum and you have no idea where it's taking you! But it will suck you in, of that you can be sure!
I really love the contrasting characters Lucian created for this story and the conflicts that are always present for Solomon and Chaos as they try to make sense of the differences between their beliefs and their reality. Once again Lucian has masterfully orchestrated and written a remarkable story that is difficult to leave behind. And once again he has left us dangling from a cliff with a snide remark and a haunting laugh, promising more phenomenal storytelling in the second book of the series.
I'll leave this acrostic that sums up the storyline for me.
Desecrating Solomon

Fan Girling once again! So for those of you new to Lucian’s work, be prepared for the powerful! Desecrating Solomon (Book One of the Desecration Series)…. I thought Dom Wars was my favorite, um, yeah, I have a new favorite of Lucian’s. This is a dark and twisted story, so if you have triggers, this may not be for you. She starts out as Baby, Chosen, Silence and then finally Chaos. She is the adopted daughter of the Master, a highly frightening individual in the art of torture and mind games. Solomon, a city boy, once country kid, turned back to his home area, his wife mysteriously murdered six years prior. His town is full of secrets and back woods superstition that no one is willing to share or utter the word “desecration”. He has a gift, he can hear Chaos. They meet under extreme circumstances and together travel on a journey of transformation, flawed individuals seeking redemption. Along the way, they struggle and fight for life and love. This is book one of three, so in true Lucian form, I am impatiently waiting for the next book in Solomon and Chaos’s journey! Well written. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars and I recommend this if you like a very dark and twisted read with a bit of erotic and romance.
Where to begin...to say that I'm blown away is an understatement! I sit here trying to write this review through a sheen of tears. OMG...my heart is aching for Chaos and Solomon. When a story can make you feel EVERYTHING and so deeply, you know you've found not only an amazing story but an amazing piece of writing. The terror I felt was so real!! I was shaking and crying. Glad I was alone so I didn't worry my family. My heart is still racing! Only a few books have made me feel this much fear. Those books were written by Stephen King. But one thing that was very different was the love and passion that I felt between Chaos and Solomon. The ability to have a love story amongst so much horror is a truly unique ability. Chaos and Solomon's willingness to put the other's wellbeing before their own...well that's true love!! THANK YOU Mr. Bane for writing such an AMAZING tale. It could not have been easy, but I truly appreciate you doing it!!
I think Lucian is a little batty to be able to write a story with this much craziness in it. You must put this book on your to be read list. It is a love story, thriller, and so much more. You will love it
Solomon and Chaos goes the extra mile to learn about each other past. Her life in the Order to his past in the community. Chaos tells him things that makes Solomon want to right the wrongs.
In Lucian Bane's latest offering we are introduced to Chaos and Solomon Gorge. Chaos is a deeply traumatized young woman under the thumb of the Order and Master. Mr. Bane's descriptions of her " training" are cringe-worthy and haunting without being way over the top. You want to smack Master with the business end of an Uzi by the end of chapter 1. Solomon is a seemingly simple guy living a simple life in backwoods West Virginia. Care-taking for Miss Mary and trapping animals. Though Solomon is far from your average simple guy. Things don't remain simple for Solomon when he is targeted by the Order and finds Chaos hanging from a tree barely alive.
This 1st part of a 3 part series gives you the basis for Solomon and Chaos' dealings with the cult and their sadistic leader, Master. The story flows quickly and sucks you in right away. There is a lot of creepy and eerie going on and you cautiously turn the page waiting for the boogeyman to jump out at you! There are far more questions than answers when you get to the cliffhanger (and what a cliff hanger it is!) But, you will definitely get pulled in.
Sinister, seductive and mysterious. Gotta say this book delivers on every level. I avoided any pre-release blurbs & discussions so I could just go in cold & see where the story took me. Down a dark shadowed woods to a cursed asylum in a town slave to its secrets. The characters are great. Silence/Chaos is a young woman brought up by an evil twist she calls Master. Her life is pain, degradation and ritualistic abuse. Master is a dark & deviant force driven by some dark calling to bring a dream/prophecy to its end. Solomon, a good man with a huge heart, who finds himself in the position of healing Chaos, saving themselves & quite possibly the entire town. Honestly, parts of this book struck notes of Stephen King for me. There is a thick dark oilyness that underlies even the most sweet & beautiful parts of the story but doesn't overwhelm. Phenomenal book! Aughhhh!!!! Book 1 of 3!!!! :-)
Unpredictable. Unexpected. Dark with a surprising twist. That's only the surface of Desecrating Solomon. Just when you think you know where the story is going Lucian Bane whips your head around with a "what the hell just happened?" It is a well written story with characters like Solomon and Chaos who you are rooting for and others like Master and Grandmother that you just want to banish to hell. And the dark theme and secrets are always underlying throughout the tale. Desecrating Solomon is captivating and really kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was coming next......and now I have to wait for the next book to find out!!! You can't go wrong with a Lucian Bane book.....especially this one!
I just finished this book and feel as if I can't process it all right now. Lucian takes you down through so many sickeningly awful emotions then lifts you up just to throw you back down. I finished this book feeling battered and broken and yet yearning for the next one desperately. He is a true master of bringing you so far into the story that at times I felt nauseous, anxious and so many emotions and feelings I can't even name. I feel like I might go re-read it to help process this brilliantly twisted tale.
