Nikolas Stone might not have the most exciting job in the Stone Society, but it is one of the most important. As archivist, he is the keeper of all things Gargoyle. When Nik uncovers the truth about Gargoyles being able to mate with humans, he not only saves his species, he also stumbles upon his own mate. Sophia Brooks is the cute librarian who helped Nik gather his research about the Gargoyle who first mated with humans. When Nik goes back to the library to see Sophia, she has left him a note and disappeared.

Sophia Brooks waited 3 years for Nikolas Stone to figure out who she is. Just when a life with her mate is finally within her grasp, her parents have been kidnapped. Sophia races off to Egypt to find them, praying that the secrets in those ancient tombs will lead her to her family. If only she wasn't leaving behind her dream of being with the hot Gargoyle.

Nik has a different plan. His mate will not be alone in this, or anything else, ever again. Nik travels to Egypt to locate Sophia and her missing parents. What happens next is a mix of action, adventure, a crazy camel, comedy, and of course, hot sex.

Faith Gibson lives outside Nashville, Tennessee with the love of her life, and her four-legged best friend. She began writing in high school and over the years, penned many stories and poems.

When her dreams continued to get crazier than the one before, she decided to keep a dream journal. Many of these night-time escapades have led to a line, a chapter, and even a complete story.

When asked what her purpose in life is, she will say to entertain the masses. Even if it’s one person at a time.
When Faith isn’t hard at work on her next story, she can be found reading, cooking, playing in the dirt (planting stuff) or playing with her staffy pup.

I didn't know Faith could write any better but she does it again. She hit another homerun with Nikolas & Sophia's story. Nik has been circling around Sophia for weeks now because he found the journal, that she planted in the library, stating the gargoyles can mate with humans. She planted the Journal because she knew that she was Nik's mate.
Sophia received a note that her parents have been kidnapped and to start looking in Egypt. She's been secretly studying her cousin Tessa and Sophia makes disguises and uses aliases when traveling through Egypt. When Nik finally catches up with Sophia because, he doesn't want his mate to go traipsing through through Egypt without him, there is going to be hell to pay for leaving him behind.
There are twists, turns, and riddle solving and hi-jinx with a camel.

This is the first book I have read in the Stone Society Series and I do believe it can be read as a standalone. I was in no way lost in this story, there was many characters whom I wish to hear more about, so I will definitely be downloading more starting at the very beginning. I loved this book and have a feeling the whole series will keep me transfixed for quite some time to come.

Nikolas Stone long believe he would never find his mate until the day he actually felt her but had to play it way to cool for his liking. He believed Sophia had no clue they were intended mates but she knew alright and why she never said anything all becomes clear when following the journey through this book.

Sophia is on her first mission and not something she is fully prepared for, sure has had training and she is wise but to travel across the world by herself to try and save her parents, well that is a lot for anyone to take on. Sophia has many tasks and mysteries to unravel while in Egypt and many truths she will find hard to handle.

Nikolas no longer able to cope without his mate goes in search of Sophia. He will not stop until he finds her. He is not coping well not knowing if she is okay. His Sophia is brave and strong but she shouldn't be alone.

This was a brilliant story with lots of adventure. Secrets were uncovered and shared. Lives were in danger but a family like no other pulled together and support was given when most needed.

I look forward to reading more of the Stone Society. I would recommend this book to all lovers of Paranormal Romance.

Not as exciting as some of the others - read on KU

This series is interesting but it could be so much better. After the first book, I have skimmed through large sections of each book. In the second book, I skimmed the chapters where Tessa and Gregor were thinking about their relationship or where they were interacting. I don't really care for Tessa, so I wasn't excited to read her book. What I do like is the family as a whole and the new discoveries that weren't expected or those you have been wondering about for a while. Most of this book was about Nik searching for Sophie and it was kind of boring. The bad guys send Sophie on a wild goose chase and it seemed like the author did the same. She gave us a bunch of scenes that felt like a runaround. And the behavior from the bad guys - Alastair's goons, made no sense. Why would he want to harass Sophie before trying to kidnap her?

The search for her parents after Nik found her was rather anticlimactic. That's why she was in Egypt but trying to find her was a much bigger deal. I had rather had her with Nik for most of the book trying to find her parents together and finding clues along the way that were interesting and well thought out.

Also, this book starts at the same time as book 2 and goes a little past the end of book 4. So, periodically, we get a recap of what is going on with the stone society. There was a recap at least as often as one for the middle and end of each of books 2, 3, and 4.

The only revelations were about one of the half breeds being a sister instead of a niece of another half breed. Big whoop. It seemed like it was thrown in just to keep it with those types of revelations instead of serving any purpose. They stayed in Egypt for a bit of adventure after her parents were found but that got reduced to one paragraph.

Some of the conversations between Nik and the couples who had gotten together while they were out of the country were weird and a little confusing.

I get that 5 books into a series, it's hard to have Earth-shattering twists but that was one of the best parts of the series.

I still don't like her writing style and really wish she would write in first person. I think first-person takes a lot of the superfluous words out of romance novels. Not that this is much of a romance. In fact, the only thing romantic is Nik rides in to save the day, figuratively speaking. A scene with a camel and some conversations with a woman Sophie meets in Egypt are the only two things remotely funny in this book.

There are definitely plenty of grammatical errors but none of them are very distracting.

I'm going to read a couple of more books in the series but if they continue to be like this one, I may give up on it. The read time for this book was supposed to be just over 5 hours, which was probably pretty accurate. I did so much skimming, I cut it down by almost two. I tend to read the first sentence of each paragraph so I don't miss anything major.

you can trust me. 5 SOLID GOLD STARS

With your body, your heart, and your spirit. WHOA!! What a GOYLETASTIC story!! I ABSO-FANG-LUTELY love, Love, LOVE EVERYTHING about it! There is humor, tears, scary moments, outraged ones, happiness, sadness, grief, betrayal, secrets, love, friendship, family, and even more for you to discover as you read through this story. The roller coaster ride of emotions that the characters go through is overwhelming at times for them, let alone how it affects me! And then when you add Faith's gift for storytelling into the mix, that roller coaster ride becomes even more rock-solid intense & even more rock-hard powerful!! I cannot help but become so immersed into these Stone Society books that the real world around me disappears, only to be replaced with this future world where these STONETASTIC Gargoyles live, play, love, mate for Happily Ever After in. Or at least they hope it is a Happily Ever After! wink I love that I can connect with the characters, that I BECOME the characters living their story alongside them and even AS them!! That alone should speak volumes about how SHIFTASTIC the books are as well as just how awe-inspiring and astronomically talented Faith truly is! I LOVE this story & series so much, it is almost IMPAWSSIBLE to list all of the reasons or describe just how much, but I will try to do it justice! I LOVE how complex, deep, involved and rich that this series is! With all of the characters, their potential mates, full Gargoyle shifters, half- shifters, siblings, there is a LOT of stories just begging to be told! Oh wait! Maybe that is me begging! :) The multiple story lines that criss-cross over, under & through the main arc of each book not only strengthens each book, but also the series as a whole, making me oh so very eager and impatient for the next book! and the next one, and the next one… I love that this book backtracks and tells everything from Sophia & Nik's point of views that was going on 'behind-the-scenes' so to speak, during the past couple of books. Especially when key or major moments from the other books are referenced in this one, expertly matching & tying the timelines & stories together. In my opinion, this story has been a long time coming - which I think is pure genius on Faith’s part to do it this way! - and GARGOYLE-OH-GARGOYLE it was soooooo worth the wait!! Once again Faith has blown me away with the Stone Clan!! And can I just say that EEEEEEEK! I LOVE how these Shifters both full & half keep evolving!! NEVER can you say that they are set in stone, never changing with the times (what’s that phrase about a rolling Stone gathers no moss?) or as needed in order to help, find & protect their mates & family! There is NOTHING that they won’t do when it comes to their mates & family! ahem SAY WHAT?!? Book 5 already?!? I fell in love with this series with Rafael - technically before he was even released!! - and while I thought it rock solid perfection then, Faith has expertly SCULPTURED this series into one SHIFTACULAR Gargoyle Stone PERFECTION of EPIC PROPORTIONS that pulls me in deeper & deeper with each book!!!! With Faith’s phenomenal talent and genuine gift it is easy to become all but instantly absorbed into each book and to become addicted to this series. The part that stands out to me, that I think is a very key element to the WOW FACTOR of this series, as well as – to me - what makes this series rise above ALL others, is that while each book is a full-length novel (WHOOT!) filled to the brim with GARGOYLE DELICIOUSNESS, no part of a story is sacrificed for another, there is absolutely NO errors, no character or plot “adjustments” done to tie in something from book 1 to book 5 (for example), each book flows into the next one beautifully, the continuity, enrichment and depth is there for every single character, plot, storyline and book. This means that there are lots of characters to meet, know & love, mates to be found, families to build or reunite, lots of adventures happening, multiple storylines, and so much more! Now you may think that by having so many characters and plots going on at one time it may get to be too much, too overwhelming, too confusing or hard to follow, but you would be WRONG! OH SO VERY WRONG!!! I just find that all of this combined into one series, is so rare these days and so I felt it important to point it out. In my humble opinion, I truly believe that the reason that all of this is so GARGOYLETACULAR is quite simply because of Faith Gibson and her phenomenal talent and genuine gift. Not that there is anything “simple” about it! I am utterly, wholly and completely consumed by this richly deep & STONETABULOUS series, mind, body, spirit and soul! I have 2 ... not complaints per se, maybe comments... I love, Love, LOVE this series so much that I *almost* wish I hadn't discovered Faith & her Goyles until the series was a lot further on. Now before you all think I have lost my marbles, let me tell you my other... comment ... the suspense of waiting for their mates to be found, discovered or accepted is KILLING ME!! I am such an impatient reader it drives me nuts waiting on Nik to find Sophie... and because I am such an impatient reader, it is also KILLING ME to have to wait for each book to come out!!! So I guess I should clarify this - they are NOT complaints, they are NOT really comments - they are COMPLIMENTS of the HIGHEST GARGOYLE CLAN ORDER that I can give! *kneels down, fist at my heart and with a bowed head “My Queen”* Which is why I like to think that that very reason is THE BEST PROOF of just how ASTRONOMICALLY TALENTED Faith is! Not only is she beyond talented, but she is also genuinely gifted too!! That very combination is why The Stone Society has a ROCK SOLID place in my heart, on my virtual bookshelf as well as a prominent feature in in my swag display! Or rather it will when I make my swag display! ;) Faith is one of my heroes with whom I am beyond elated to also call my friend!! There isn't anything more precious or priceless than that, in our world or the Stone Clan’s!

Egypt, Here We Come!

This book is mainly focused in Egypt as that is where Sophia's parents were taken to, but her mother has spent some time in Egypt to before she met her mate.

Nikolas goes after his mate Sophia to help her in her search for her parents & at 1st this book not only takes the reader on a wild goose chase but, the characters in this book too. There are some funny parts in this book that made me smirk & there are some parts in this book that you wonder where is this story taking me.

Sophia would make a great spy with all of her disguises as not only does she look the part but she sounds like it too. Because one of her disguises is that of an elderly woman & Nik at 1st doesn't recognize her; at least that is not before she threw herself at him & started kissing him. But, then they became separated for a while while she was trying to escape the bad guys & then she got tossed in jail. But, that's a part in this story that you will have to read for yourself.

In the end a lot of secrets came to light & Uncle Zeke may have been reintroduced to his mate. But, that's probably another story. All in all this was a very good book.

This is my first read / listen of the Stone Society and while I realize this is book 5 and I probably could have used some back story from the previous books in this series I still enjoyed this suspenseful romance read and think it can definitely be read / listened to as a stand alone.
I also want to mention how much I enjoyed the narrator on this one. Oh my how his voice goes deep when appropriate in the text just makes me sit up and take notice!
The storyline again can be read / listened to as a stand alone and I felt it had a good flow and was well written. Plenty of suspense and romance to make any reader happy. I loved the characters especially Sophia and her determination and Nikolas' protective nature. I can't wait to read more on this Stone Society and the characters found with in!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided voluntary review.

This new narrator is awesome. The listener can definitely feel the emorions that come through his voice. I would gladly listen to him all day and night.
This book coincides with things that happened in the previous book so there was no forward motion with the story. But I loved finding out about what happened with Sophia and Nikolas.
Sophia has to endure a lot in the process of trying to find her parents. Nikolas never gave up on finding her either. Some things are revealed about Sophia's parents that were hidden before.
I love these Gargoyle Society books!!! Can't wait to have more to listen to!
I recieved a free audiobook and I choose to leave my honest opinion.

Brings more people into the fold

Sophia, a librarian abs half gargoyle, knows that Nik, full-blood gargoyle and the Stone Clan archivist, is her mate but needs to go to Egypt before they can solidify the bond. As the story progresses a treasure hunt is launched, dangerous situations confound, and the secrets kept could sink or save them. Faith Gibson’s Nikolas brings more people into the fold of the Stone clan. It is not surprising to state that this book contains strong characters that endure grueling trials before getting their happy ending. If the fates hold true than each gargoyle is set for a bumpy ride to true love, proving how strong both people are in the union.

This is book 5 in the series and Nikolas did not disappoint and is a great addition to the series. There is all our favorite characters we have come to love from the previous books in the series. Plenty of action and suspense, we get to know Sophia the quiet librarian who may not be so quiet after all. There were a few moments I wanted to reach into the book and yell at one character or another to just stop and stay were you are and wait a minute lol. I recommend this entire series and am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Sophia can kick some butt!

Sophia searches for her kidnapped patents in Egypt. She's working alone, butt it's then joined by Nicholas Stone, her mate, her Uncle Ezekiel, and later Gregor and Tessa. She was doing pretty well art the start, but got herself in a serious problem on a tour of the Valley of the Queens -prison. The rest have to work hard to find her, get her out and still find her parents. Strong book!

No Stone unturned!

I listened to part of this story on Audible, and read part. It is an action adventure romance. I loved the characters. They have a down to earth feel with a supernatural flare. This adventure took place in Egypt. Sand, and wilful camels are a bit of comedy relief.

I have not read the other books in this series, but am anxious to read them now. These characters are easy to become addicted to reading about. Overall, I really enjoyed this story!

What a series!!!

Throughout this book I said !any things but my favorite of all was 'poor Fred.'. Then git er Fred!!! Lmao! This one will keep you up at night reading because you don't want to put it down! I love Tessa and Sophia and really want to slap Jonas upside his head some. He needs to take the stock out and join in the Stone clan, he would be so much more relaxed! Read to find out what I'm talking about. It's so worth it!

Least favorite in the series

I enjoy the series, but I really did not like this one at all. The timing felt off and I feel like with the other books I already knew what was going to happen. Also the part with her being held in jail was very disjointed. Did not need it for any other part of the story. There could have been a much better way to make the two main characters be separated from one another. Looking forward to the next read though.

Another great addition!

Definitely need to read these books in order. Everyone one gives us another piece of the puzzle. I absolutely love this series and never want it to end. I've read these books start to finish. I can't get enough. I feel like I know these characters and love how in depth we get to know them.

Great as always

This is a great series. The stories are never boring, plenty of action. Can't put them down thus my sink full of dishes. I find it very hard to put the books down they just grip you from the beginning and go on and on. Can't wait to read the rest of the series (may it never end)

Another amazing read!!

Each book in this series gets better and better. Nik and Sophia are perfect mates for each. The characters are written very well. I love how the past stories are interweaved with the next. Its like a little refresher. I definitely recommend this whole series.

I love this series

I love this series, even having read it previously, but this book was meh for me like last time and I had to push through it. It feels like a spinoff with no connection to the story as a whole and Sophia's character was kind of annoying. I'm still a sucker for the Stone clan but this one could be left out and I wouldn't blink.

Nik and Sophia’s Hot Story

As the fifth book in her Stone Society series, Faith Gibson intermingles stories of the brothers and cousins of the Goyles who are keeping New Atlanta safe. Sophia and Nik finally get their chance to find each other as mates, but danger awaits.

Soo good

Love this series. Love this story. Sophia, like the other ladies, is tough and brave. She does not need to be saved. Although, she needed some assistance. Love Nick and the gang. I love how close he is to his brother, Julian.

Slow burn in the mating department. Lots of action and lots of reminiscing with all the characters-which was nice. Lots of action and mystery. Once Nik and So finally got together, they were hot! Love the epilogue
