Battling Troy

Rate this book
A one night stand, that was all it was supposed to be. At least that's what Marley thought. After a blundered kidnapping, Troy and Marley are constantly thrown together, fighting an attraction they both don't want, but can't be denied. Who will be the first to raise the white flag and surrender to their desires, realizing some battles are worth fighting? 5 Worth the Fight Stars

It's a continuation from the previous book that ends with Marley being kidnapped by the Assassins. They thought she was Cyn but then they realized they got the wrong person and dropped her off near her work place lol.

Troy was the last person to see Marley before she was kidnapped and let's just say they were not talking or sleeping ;).

I love the storyline and I love that author is setting up the next characters for the next book. I can't wait for Gambler and Gwen's story.

“I had gone through the battle, and I’ll be damned if my reward was going to be taken away from me.

Marley was mine.”

Good story, needs a proofreader!

It's been several years since I read the previous books in this series. Not completely sure why I waited so long. The story was good, it kept me engaged, even through all the mistakes. I'd forgotten how crazy the women in this series could be. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

Perfect

This was the perfect story for Troy. I loved how Marley and Troy had an instant connection. Im always a sucker for insta-love romances, and this one did not disappoint. I'm super excited for Gwen and Gambler's book next. It's going to be interesting to say the least.

Battling Troy

Battling Troy picks up the story after Cyn’s book and after Gravel and Ethel’s Novella where they found happiness with each other.

Troy has been Meg’s best-friend since before her separation from Hunter and before Lo entered her life. This has always driven Gravel crazy, knowing that his Prez’s Ol’ lady was endangered from a man ‘claiming’ to be just her friend. Troy has never felt any way other than Brotherly toward Meg. So what happens when one night Troy meets a beautiful woman who has captured his attention, and he wants to actually call her, and get to know her.

For Troy the fact that a woman has caught his attention is a feeling foreign to him. He hasn’t felt that way in a long time…not since he was burned in the past. Then the next morning she’s gone, but he’s got a number and plans on using it.

Until he realizes…oh he’s spent the night with Gravel’s daughter Marley, and Gravel is ready to give him a new face. Curtesy of him. Trouble Troy doesn’t need with Gravel, but the discovery of why there was commotion he walked into has him concerned.

It figures that after all the years Marley has been absent from her father, she leaves his clubhouse after spending an amazing evening with a man she could only dream of.

Marley hasn’t had the best childhood, but not the worst. She had a mom and aunt, but nothing that consisted of a steady home life. She moved around without ever having a steady place to call home. On top of all of that, she has daddy issues. Mainly being, that daddy wasn’t there. At all, in her eyes she didn’t measure up to his club full of his brothers.

This is a love story that is very bumpy, full of surprises, and full of forgiveness, love and eventually some peace and sort of understanding. This is an amazing journey that Winter Travers takes you on, you also will take home a lesson learned that everything is not always as it seems or as it’s portrayed…Don’t ever judge a book by its cover…literally.

Winter Travers is an amazing Author, five stars and two thumbs on this wonderful journey of life. Be prepared to not want to leave this story, not even for a second! Thank you Winter for sharing your hard work and our new family that lies in your books with the characters you bring us in your books.

I have loved every book in this series so far and they keep getting better and better. Winter Travers never disappoints!

Battling Troy not only gives us more of the characters from the first three books it gives us more from Troy and Marley, whom we got a taste of at the end of Gravel and Ethel’s story.

Troy is Meg and Cyn’s best friend. He is an alpha male that we’ve read about in all the books so far. He is funny and witty and was there for Meg and Cyn when they needed him most. Marley is Gravel’s daughter. She is running from a rocky situation with her deceased fiancés family that leads her to ask Gravel for help.

The two meet at a party at the end of Gravel’s Road and leads them spending the night together. Battling Troy picks up where Gravel’s Road ends. It was supposed to be one night. But they are thrown together over and over, which leads them giving in to each other eventually. Their one night stand turns into a rocky roller coaster ride of ups and downs. Those ups and downs lead them to opening up to each other and realizing they love one another. They are perfect for each other and I’m so glad that things worked out the way they did!

I loved this book and I’m really looking forward to read more in this series!

I didn't read this book as quickly as I usually do with these type of books. Of all Winter Travers characters I related the most to Marley. She had more layers then expected. Many who reads this story want agree with me, how I read the story Marley was emotionally abuse from her mother which was the root of her issue. Her only major relationship, the only reason she stayed in it was because he made feel from safe from her mother. She mistook that safe feeling for love. Her first real love died and left his estate to her. His family didn't like this & went after her. Marley went to her father Gravel for all intents and purposes abandon her.

Her was my issues. It was allude to, but never truly address that Marley felt her father choose his "brother" over her. Let's be real for a minute , my parent wouldn't allow their 13 year old child to choose not speak father.

Troy was well written. But how old is Troy ? In Loving Lo he was 30. But in Finding Troy he was 37.

You need to start with Loving Lo, to truly understand what's going on. The stories don't have cliff hanger, but all stories pick up literally right after the last story.

OMFG i loved this book! Everything about it was spot on from the story, to the flow to the main characters. This book is based on Marley and Troy...
Troy is not part of the Devil's Knights but as his best friend Meg is dating the President, King, he does help when needed! I his early 30's he is ready to settle down, but can't seem to find 'the one'... Until he spends the night with Marley, and his life is about to change... Forever!!!
Marley has come to town, her father Gravel is part of the MC. She is running from something and her life is in danger!!!
Without giving away spoilers, the story is deep and written with perfection! I am so loving this series and Ms Travers is definitely now one of my favourite authors. The humour that comes through had me in tears, laughing so hard my stomach hurt! You will learn what i mean as aoon as you READ THIS BOOK!!!
A brilliant 10/10 read and one of which i would have loved to award much more than 5 stars had it been at all possible!!! I get so lost in these books and i know that everyone that reads them will feel the same!!!... PERFECT!!!

This has got to be the most stupidest book I've ever read...and I've read the other books in this series so that's saying something. I will not be continuing even though I wanna know what happens next. I just can't get over this writing style, it's so highschoolish!!! Not to mention her facts keep changing. Her mom and her moved away when she was 6 months but she can remember living with her dad? Um no, that's not right. Needs to go to Troys to sneak her dress out of his house but then the next paragraph she's pulling it on and she hasn't even left her house? uh no.

These characters and insta-love is just not believable. It wasn't in the first 3 books, and it still isn't in this one.

WOW!!
THAT WAS SO EXCITING! I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE!! Oh she's do I start? Lol! This book is the introduction to a new addition to the Devil's Knights MC family. Marley is Gravel's daughter and she's such a great addition. I loved her character instantly. Anybody who loves dogs like she does has my vote. Lol. And Troy, could he be any sexier? Holy Moly! I think I found myself a new book boyfriend. Lol. The troubled that is following Marley is crazy. Her ex Mark's family sound like a bunch of money hungry psychos. I can kinda understand why Marley didn't want the inhabitants but she should at least keep some of the money and she could give them back the rest, the shares and all. But then again Mark apparently loved her enough to leave it to her, he really must not have wanted his family to have any of it. Who knows? Now I couldn't be happier that she and Troy hooked up, he needed her and she needed him too. I don't like that she kept calling Gravel by his name Lincoln or Gravel and not Dad. I know he wasn't there for her growing up but it wasn't by choice and he did take care of her money wise, he paid child support for her. Her mother sounds like a doozy. And can I just say, I think Meg gets alittle crazier every book. Lol. When she walks in on Troy and Marley I was cracking up. King definitely has his hands full with her and Cyn sure has tamed down Rigid because he doesn't seem as bada** as he first was. But I love this side of him too. When Troy and Marley get shot at the suspense and excitement had my bouncing in my seat. Then this cliffhanger had me screaming in my head NOOOO! Now I can't wait to get to the next book. The mystery is intense. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES TO EVERYONE!

While not a member of the Devils Knights, Troy has a chance to find love. I am so happy Winter is giving us Troy's story. I think this one is my fave from the series. We get to see a good man working an honest living, fall in love, and get some good.

Troy is an honorable man who cares about his friends. After helping with Cyn and his best friend Meg becoming an ol' lady, he finds himself at the clubhouse for his birthday. The celebration leads to a night of passion. He will find out the identity of his one-night stand and have a battle on his hands. Troy is not one for games and knows what he wants. When a foe unexpectedly tries to end his life, he has to fight to get back to the woman who stole his heart.

Marley is trying to reconnect with her father, Gravel. I feel like she is still a lost, scared, girl who wants love and a home. One thing I did like about her was her excitement for the small things in life. She also had an inner strength when push came to shove. She grew a lot in this story becoming her own center of strength and having Troy by her side. I laughed at how she could burn water.

The foe is not someone we'd expect it to be. I feel like this is a calm before the storm for the Devils Knights. We get to see all our old favorites and meet new characters that are a welcome addition to the crazy gang.

The plot in this story was well done. I think it fits as a nice go-between for the MC happenings and dealings. The story has laughs and antics that will leave you chuckling. I also had my "I wanted to smack Marley moments too", and that made it all the more fun to read. 5 Pointe shoes from this blogger

Okay...

I was really looking forward to Troy's book and I found I liked him a lot. The lack of stars on this one have to do with Meg, Marley (the heroine), and Gravel. Meg has done a total 180 in personality since the first book and while coming into your own is good and all, she seems to be totally and completely different than she was. She's now acting extremely childish and her solution to things is to get drunk instead of talk things out. She supposed to mature, in her late 30s but something seem to be missing from her now. There's no depth anymore other than a need to constantly fight and pout when she's wrong. Marley was meh for me. She was okay but her knee jerk reaction to everything is to run away. Not listen to reason or logic or even think things through, just run. Gravel (Marley's dad) has a real bug up his butt about Troy and no matter what anyone says he treats Troy no better than dog crap on the bottom of his shoe. I thought Troy deserved a better story with a better heroine and the best friend we all knew from book one who seems to have up and disappeared. I think I'll give this series a rest for a little while and come back to it later.

Troy isn't part of the MC but his best friends are associated with the club. When he gets dragged into something that is going on with one of the brother's daughter he is ready to fight for Marley.
In the previous book we see Troy hook up with Marley not knowing who she is and how she is connected to the club. When he runs into her again the sparks are flying and now they are being thrown together for him to protect her from her past.
While I did enjoy this book and really like Troy I was disappointed that they let the situation that Marley ran away from not have a solid conclusion. What is happening with the stuff she inherited? Does she get it, is she giving it back????? I hate unanswered questions in a book.
Also there was one point when Marley said that her fiance' died 8 months ago and then when she was talking to all the girls it was mentioned that he died 6 months ago. Even though that is a small thing it still sticks out as a mistake.

I really enjoyed this story, we got to see a new side to Troy, and we finally find out more about Marley. This story was fast paced, and exhilarating. This book was hilarious.

I loved Troy, have done from first book. He is funny, and caring. He loves his job, and his friends. He is a bit crazy like his friends, but he has his own kind of crazy.

I loved Marley, she is sassy, and feisty. She is funny, and she made me laugh so much. She doesn't really care much for money and possessions. She is down to earth, and rolls with the crazy. But she is also very scared.

I loved how they battled Troy.

Battling Troy book 4

Loving Troy a lot. He's the best friend of Meg.. I been wanting him to find his other half! Marley is perfect for him. I think he will help her to only run to him. I think its funny that Gravel gives him a hard time, but sometimes that gets old. But can't wait to see what happens next in the series. I recommend this series & the Author. Wonder who will get an old lady next & I wonder if Troy will ever become a Devil Knight?? Lately he's been in all the church meetings.

I love Troy, he has stepped up and in to help the women and the club every time, even without being asked. He met and fell for Marley at his party and was annoyed he didn't get a name or number, he was going to be protecting her no matter what. I just don't get Gravel's treatment of him, it's over the top and completely unnecessary. There are some inconsistencies in this story which do throw things out a little bit but overall it's an interesting and exciting plot with great characters. I don't think they get the lock down idea of protection and staying put though.

Another good one in this series. Can a man and a woman be best friends? Yes. I think so. Well, apparently Gravel doesn't think so. Gravels long lost daughter come back to town. She's been through a lot and needed to get away from where she has been. Bad thing is she doesn't realize how much trouble she is bringing. Just how deep is she in?

We see a little more action with the club but not as much as I'd like. I'm also over Meg's childish behavior but plan to read the next book still. Maybe someone else will tape her mouth shut...lol

Oh Howdy

I love that Troy and Marley got a book. I know Troy isn’t part of the MC but I am so thrilled their story got included. There is so much that goes on in this book and I love being introduced to Gwen. She sounds absolutely amazing and I cannot wait for more of her. I love that Leo was brought in and I am enjoying seeing everything unfold between all the different characters. Although, there were many a time I wanted to punch Gravel; I still loved getting more of him and Ethel. Bring on more bikers!!!!!

Battling Troy was a good addition to the Devil's Knight series. It has been on my TBR list for a while now, so over the last few days I reread books 1-3 in preparation to finally reading this book. I have enjoyed revisiting all the characters. I enjoyed this book very much. I felt the connection between Troy and Marley and enjoyed watching them find their HEA. The lead up to book five was well done and now I am looking forward to reading Gwen and Gamblers book.

She's on the run, he is tired of failed relationships. Can they heal each other? Will they find peace?

Loved getting to see Troy fall in love after meeting him in previous books. I absolutely loved Troy's character and how he was with those he loved. I didn't blame Marly for being scared, but loved how once she decided to stay, she went all in and went after what she wanted. Good read and cannot wait for Gambler's story!

Troy, best friends and to Meg and Cyn has had an issue with women, trying to convince them that They are just friends and nothing romantic between them.
Meg throws a birthday party for him at the MC clubhouse.
Marley, Gravels daughter, whom he hadn’t seen for a while showed up at the party and hooks up with Troy. There is a lot of ups and downs in this book and so much going on.
I love that Troy never gives up on Marley! They are perfect for each other.

Great book

A hookup, a one night stand with a mystery girl turns into so much more for this friend to the MC. She's the daughter of a brother, lost to him many years ago. She's in trouble and runs straight to her father and into the arms of a young man. He resists but sees in her his other half, his one and only. Can they connect and make to their HEA , come along enjoy the ride. Another great addition to the series.

I was hesitant to read this one, unsure with Troy not being in the MC, curious as to the storyline.

I enjoy how this author not only creates a new story with Troy and Marley but continues to utilize the previous characters throughout, as well.

Unique storyline which kept you guessing. The character development was great and the characters were extremely like able and funny.
