November 23, 2016Wheres the Directors clapper board to call at end to the angst at last. Overload.
The start was promising, but around the 40% mark I started to get bored and skimmed a lot after that til the end. I don't enjoy books where 'club-bunnies' are rubbed in the heroine's face or when the apparent 'hero' carries on about how much easy pussy he's had. And on top of all that bitch drama, the hero is an asshole, one who doesn't redeem himself in my eyes.

♦️HERO: Max Kincaid, 36--Ex-military, awarded a Purple Heart. Owns a tattoo shop. Murderer. Has served the last 5 years in prison for murdering the man that killed his estranged wife and unborn child and he isn't the least bit remorseful. He's a bit cold, rough, gruff, demanding and totally alpha. Tattooed, black hair, black eyes.
♦️HEROINE: Tessa Oliver, 27--Paralegal. She's obsessed with Max Kincaid and his case. Petite with brown hair, green eyes.
♦️PLOT: While attending Max's parole hearing, Tessa gets caught up in a prison riot/breakout and reluctantly taken hostage by Max to keep her safe. They fall for each other and have lots if steamy times while on the run together in the swamplands, then staying at a motorcycle club Max is associated with.
♦️REVIEW: Not a bad read but a couple things seemed a little forced/unrealistic. Also, at one point H is cruel to h to drive her away, for her own good but I'm never a big fan of that.
♦️EDITING: could use some work
♦️POV: dual first person
♦️STEAM LEVEL: hot, 4.5/5 - includes anal, rough sex and a little BDSM
♦️OW / OM ISSUES:
~H stated that he had lots of women before his time in prison but didn't do relationships. The h is the first woman H ever wanted a relationship with.
~h is told by a woman that H is known to be "legendary in the sack"...gag.
~H was briefly married in the past but did not like or love his wife--she was just a "muffler bunny" (club whore) that got pregnant accidentally.
~Another "muffler bunny" is jealous of h and wants H back, so she wants revenge on H&h and causes major problems. h physically attacks her.
~h has only been with one guy--she lost her virginity to her dying best friend/foster brother at 17 after they declared themselves "married". She loved him but not "an adult love".
♦️ENDING: HEA, Epilogue, No cliffhanger

This book... I don't know that I have the words to explain the feels for this one... One thing I love about finding debut authors is finding ones who do it right!! And Baylee Rose did this RIGHT!!!
Mad Max is fine as hell, he's domineering he's ALPHA to the nth degree and ohhh is he ever panty melting hotness!! I absolutely adored this book!! I love how on edge he is, like he's not far from tipping right over and becoming the homicidal maniac society see's him as. But not his Tessa, oh no.
From the moment Tessa lays eyes on his photo, reads his name, and learns of his story she is smitten, she knows he shouldn't be in prison, that he was justified in what he did. And she fights tooth and nail, no matter what she see's him do once he kidnaps her after the prison break. Her faith in him was shaken a couple of times, but never broken. The two of them were made for each other.
Tessa's sassy attitude had me cracking up so often, my husband often gave me strange looks, I have not enjoyed a book so thoroughly in I don't know how long and I very much look forward to anything Miss Rose writes next!
Their chemistry is off the chains hot! Literally, chains might be involved ;)

FIVE 'MAD MAX AND HIS KITTEN' STARS!
Wow! What a debut! Baylee Rose came out of nowhere and bursting on the scene in a ball of fire scorching Kindles everywhere with this release! I'll be honest, not a lot has gotten done around here while I've been devouring Unlawful Seizure. I had a hard time putting it down!
Tess Oliver is having a bad day. A paralegal to the court-appointed defense attorney assigned to Max Kincaid, she is stuck going to the federal prison to stand in for her boss at Max's parole hearing. Ignoring the universe's warnings that today will not be her day, Tess heads to the prison, excited yet apprehensive for reasons she cannot quite put her finger on. Having spent months pouring over Max's case file for her boss, Tess has a hero-worshipful crush on Max. Despite her nerves and those pesky signs from the universe, Tess forges ahead hoping she is prepared for Max.
Max Kincaid is a man immersed in a hell of his own making. A decorated war hero, he is now serving time for a crime of vengeance - the cold, calculated murder of the man who killed his ex and unborn child. Max has given up, he did that when his unborn child was killed. A man without hope or a future, he is dead inside. Resigned completely to his fate, Max is totally unprepared for Tess, he is unprepared for even the promise of her. And the universe is right, today is not going to be her day.
Minutes into their meeting, a meeting that Max had tried to end before it could truly began, a prison riot breaks out. Max is left with no choice but to take Tess as his hostage and escape with her all in the guise of keeping her safe from the other inmates. Now on the run, they fight their attraction, their feelings and each other along the way. Turning to an unlikely ally for protection and refuge, they are ultimately powerless against the depth of their attraction to one another. But not everyone is happy about the relationship blooming between Max and Tess, and there is little more dangerous than a woman who believes she was scorned to throw a wrench into even the best laid plans.
I was blown away by this book! I absolutely love an all alpha male lead character, even more so when he's got a bit of alpha-hole in him, and boy oh boy, did Max have that down! He was a commanding, dominating, dirty-talking, in charge presence. Tess was a such strong female lead; quick-witted, sassy-mouthed and unaware of her allure, Max was enthralled by her nearly innocent and natural submission to him. She was everything he never dared to even dream of for himself. These two were just so, so sexy! Gah! I loved them, even when Max was being the arrogant, in-denial, fighting his feelings, all-alpha male. Oh yeah, I loved him even then. But when he finally did give in to his feelings and actually started to own them? It was heart-thumping, knee-buckling, belly-full-of-butterflies, cheeks burning awesomeness!
This was such a great read, such a wonderful surprise! The story was fresh and interesting and just so different! Max and Tess were positively explosive together; so hot, so in sync and so, so delicious to read! I am thoroughly impressed with this author and this book. Well written, fast paced but not rushed, perfectly descriptive without bogging the reader down in details and about main and supporting characters whom I couldn't help but get caught up in, Unlawful Seizure swept me away and was damn hard to put down. I'm so genuinely excited about this author! If this is what Baylee Rose is offering up as her debut novel, I am positively simmering with excitement about what she'll give her readers next! I'll just be right here, at the edge of my seat, ready and waiting to one click her next release. Well done, Ms. Rose, very well done!!

March 17, 2016I just couldn't get over the fact the heroine was getting aroused and the Hero was fingering her within maybe an hour of meeting each other and just after the prision riot! Sorry, that's a pass for me. I need for my H and h to have known each other a bit longer.

This was one of the books that you just don't want to end. I wanted the ending to come much slower. I love the characters, the plot, the flow of the story, the secondary characters and lots of sexy moments. I wish the club whore would have gotten hers in the end, but hopefully she gets what's coming to her in the next book? Well done. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Don't judge this book by synopsis!
2nd re-read and just as awesome as first read it not more! Tess is one strong female lead! And Max yum but he needs to pull his head outta his @$$ a couple of times thanks to Tess not taking his $h;t!
Still upset we didn't get to see Jenna get what she deserved! But definitely a great read all in all!
So I've read and re-read the synopsis for this book multiple times but I never pulled the trigger to read it. Why you ask? Because I wasn't a fan of the inmate/paralegal storyline. I just didn't see how I could connect with a romance with an inmate. Well I'm kicking my own @$$ for being judgy! I should have just gone on my faith that the amazing Jordan Marie wouldn't do me wrong! Freaking fantastic book 4.5 stars nearly perfect read! ( it takes a whole lot to get 5 stars out of me)😉 Max & Tess are an amazing couple with their story set on a roller coaster ride of ups, downs and everything in between! Max is one bad @$$ caveman & he makes no excuses for his behavior! Tess is a lucky, lucky girl! Picture the tv series Prison Break combined with Sons of Anarchy rated X and you have this steamy, sexy, intense, romantic drama! So if like me your turned off by the concept of this book based on the inmate factor, don't be give it a chance J.M will not let you down! Max isn't bad he's a war hero who didn't think but just reacted, after someone murdered his unborn child. I for one as a parent can't say what route/revenge/vengeance I would enact on someone who horrifically took my child from me forever. Really enjoyed this story and all the characters, well except a few! Top b!t©h award to Jenna. I needed to know what happened to her....😠 on to the next book in this series!

was the book blurb,
I read when posting the cover reveal.
I frantically stalked the promoter
to find out if there was a blog tour.
It's a rarity I find a new author this way, usually it's by word of mouth.
Either way I'm glad I did.
I totally Devoured this book.
Tess was an educated woman with a less than ideal childhood.
She was on her way to be coming a lawyer. She was more than a little infatuated with one case that she studied over and over. Something about the accused, something in his eyes, drew her to him.
His story one she could empathize with.
She knew he was a good man.
When given the opportunity to defend him, everything in the universe
tries to keep her away.
Totally Unsuccessfully!
She Meets Max Kincaid
Max is as stunning as his picture
and 10 times better in person.
But a complete Ass.
A SEXY Ass, but an asshole none the less.
No matter how either one of them try to hold back they are
fiercely attracted to each other.
The more time they spend together
the harder it is to imagine being apart. Watching them push and pull back together in the beginning was adventurous.
NEVER knowing if they were gonna fight
or finally do it!
Once they finally admitted what they felt for each other,
I felt like I was feeling it right with them.
I was on fire when they were
and torn apart when they were as well.
The action, the heat, the companionship, the family element it was everything for me
This was a phenomenal story and my first from Baylee Rose.
I don't know where she came from,
but best believe
I will be hot on her trail
for the next book.

What happens when Tess gets to meet the man she's been dreaming about (literally) for ages? Will he be as hot as his photo? Can a photo accurately portray his character? She knows so much about him from simply reading his file but when she comes face to face with Max Kincaid at his parole hearing, she's not expecting the tough, gruff male she encounters....and he's not remotely interested in her help.
Things go from bad to worse when alarm bells sound and Tess is thrust into the belly of the prison.
Max is a great character! Hot doesn't adequately describe him...he's tough, forceful, completely alpha and angry with the hand life has dealt him. He doesn't have time to babysit Tess but he's not the type of man to leave her to the wolves, so he's taking her with him.
Tess is feisty and even though she knows that's she's found herself in a dangerous situation, the lust she feels for Max overrules all her common sense.

Max is a great character! Hot doesn't adequately describe him...he's tough, forceful, completely alpha and angry with the hand life has dealt him. He doesn't have time to babysit Tess but he's not the type of man to leave her to the wolves, so he's taking her with him.
Tess is feisty and even though she knows that's she's found herself in a dangerous situation, the lust she feels for Max overrules all her common sense.
The sass she delivers is amusing and there's loads of drama packed into this book - escaped prisoners, a bitch from hell, bullets and a dingy underground hideout but mostly, there sex and it is scorching!

Although this book is a standalone, there's another book in the series, called Unjustified Demands and I can't wait to read it!

I had no idea what I was getting into when I started this! My trusty folks that I follow because we have the same taste in books ok'd the second book and I jumped in head first with this first book. I was pleasantly surprised. Max was such a damaged fella. He was in prison for murder. He killed the man who murdered his pregnant estranged wife. Even though he couldn't stand her, he avenged his child's life. Being shuffled around in the system, he is up for another parole hearing and that is where Tess comes in. She was there to help him and gets mixed up in a prison break. Of course our grumpy H Max helps her out which puts them both on the run. Although he wants to push her away, he just can't. He's gruff, he loves the h and is faithful to her. He put the A in alpha. One of the main antagonist in the story is a scorned ex who wants Max back but he does not give her the time of day. She causes them all kinds of grief. I'm not going to lie, I even got a little teary eyed.

Max can be a bossy man, “take that shirt off. If you’re going to suck me, you’re going to do it without hiding your body from me.” Max is a good supporting man at times:

I loved this book, it kept me entertained and it was easy to fall in love with the characters.

It's hard to put into words how much I loved this book. the fact that Baylee Rose is a new author is so surprising to me because the book is just awesome! The chemistry between Tess and Mad Max is insane and so hot! There is action, suspense, steamy sexy hotness and even some humor thrown in. This book has everything and the writing just pulls you in and connects you to the characters so you laugh and cry right along with them. I couldn't put it down and there were a few moments I didn't know if my kindle was going to make it!!! I can't wait too see what she writes next! Unlawful Seizure is a must read!

Just Ok
I really wanted to love this book but sadly I didn't. I did enjoy both Max and Tess' characters but they moved way too fast for me. I didn't feel there was enough character development for me to fall in love with them. Also, I enjoy sex in books but this was over the top. I had to end up skimming though the sex scenes just to get to the story. The best part of the book was how she wrote Max and Tess' ending. I thought she did them justice by giving them their HEA the way she did. I just didn't feel the connection to this book that I would have liked.

Amazing!!! I was in a bit of a book slump & now I have a book hangover thanks to the awesomeness that is this book!!! Definitely made it to my paperback list!
Max & Tess are just perfect together & the sex is off the charts hot! I wish we got a sequel for them.

Sizzling read!
I loved the story line and loved the characters. Even bing read the book but when I got to the end I was a little disappointed. The end seemed rushed. I would have liked a little more details and there was some really big loose ends. Therefore the three stars

I really liked the beginning and thought the sex was great, but it kinda fizzled out for me halfway though the book, but I did like the ending. It was a little different than the norm.

Action romance
Great read again by this author. I like her!
Real action packed story. Jail break and running away. It does seem like it was instant attraction and it was , but the love came later making it more realistic.
Max was hot and dangerous. He was the right kinda alpha. You really didn’t have to hate him. Tessa held her own and I liked that. She was a tough woman and went the distance. She stood up to Max and showed him a thing or two about her strength.
Marcum was in this one and I read the series backwards, but he was the same great tough loving guy. He was great for setting Max straight!

5 Kitten Stars!!!! Such an emotional, sexy, and gripping story! I adored every page of this book! I don’t even know where to begin! Firstly, I LOVED Mad Max! Gahhh!!! He has got to be one of the most ALPHA and broody heroes that I have had the pleasure of reading! And Tess, OMG I LOVED her too! She was headstrong, feisty and the perfect match for Max. I loved the banter between Max and Tess - their quirky banter had me LOLing every. single. time!! I loved the way this story unfolded, the narrative was addictive and fast paced, and the cast of characters were easy to fall in love with (except Jenna!!). I can’t wait for more on this series!

This was a great debut book. The writing was impressive and the storyline sucked me in from the very first page. Tessa is a paralegal for a lawyer who has to cover for her boss at a parole hearing for convicted killer, Max Kincaid. As a former soldier Max was highly respected, but lost everything when he was convicted of murder. Tess, having studied Max's case thoroughly, has an infatuation of sorts with him and believes that he should be released for parole. She has no idea before stepping into the prison that her life is about to be catapulted into complete chaos.
The chemistry between Max and Tess was off the charts and only continued to get hotter as the story went on. Tess was a great character. She was down to earth, likeable, and her inner musings had me laughing out loud throughout the book. Even though she was in a dangerous situation, she didn't freak out and managed to keeps her wits and sense of humor about her. She is taken from her normal mundane life and thrust into chaos, all while trying to navigate her feelings for her sexy felon, or "Mad Max" as she referred to him. Max was a complex character. A convicted killer, he doesn't feel remorse for the man whose live he took, yet he is protective of Tess from the very beginning. He tries to fight the connection he has to Tess because he knows there is no future with him. He is also hot, possessive, and dominating, with a kinky side to him that comes out to play from the very beginning, and it makes for some very interesting and very hot sex scenes between the two of them.
The twists and turns in the book kept me on edge the whole way through, as there were several points where I wasn't quite sure how things were going to play out. Overall this was a great story about two people forming an unlikely bond and finding love in the most difficult of circumstances. The author did a wonderful job with this debut and I look forward to reading more from her!

This is a new author for me and I feel like I hit the jackpot with this incredible find. This is another book I am adding to my top books of 2015 because it completely rocked my world. This book was edgy, passionate, intense, angsty, sexy, and had one alpha bad boy that will make you swoon and fall hard. This book is a complete standalone with the most perfect happy ending ever!
This is Max and Tessa's story. Max is a prisoner up for a parole hearing. He is ruthless, cold, and doesn't answer to anyone. He is a dark man and he keeps it that way. He committed a crime that is justified in his eyes but not in the eyes of the law. And something bis is about to happen and he knows it though he isn't apart of now. But now that Tessa is involved, he does what he has too.
Enter Tessa. She works for Max's lawyer's office and is sent to meet with Max and represent him for his hearing. She may be slightly obsessed with him because she has followed his case from the beginning. What starts out as hope that Tessa can get him freed turns into chaos. A prison break has occurred and Max is taking Tessa with him... no questions, whether she wants to or not.
Tessa and Max are so freaking hot together. They burned up my pages and I found myself on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen next. These two put me through the ringer at times but I was still rooting for them to figure it all out. Of course they have obstacles to face and drama to endure before they get there. Grab this hot little book that is sure to make your kindle sizzle.

Being caught in a prison riot would so be something that would happen to me, not gonna lie, my luck sucks, but if Max Kincaid took me prisoner? Let’s just say I would not be putting up a fight and would go with him willingly. Very, very willingly.
Unlawful Seizure is one sexy as hell read. Max is a dominant, pissed off man, who isn’t sorry for why he is in prison to begin with; but he is also sweet, protective and oh so sexy. He knew that he couldn’t leave Tessa behind. At first it was so she was safe from the other escaped prisoners, but it quickly moved into not wanting to let her go, ever. Even when he is the biggest asshole to Tessa, oh and trust me he is an asshole of massive proportions, you can’t help but still love him.
Tessa knew Max’s case file better than the attorney she worked for. She may not be an attorney, but her boss sends her to represent Max at the parole hearing anyways. If he would just listen to her, she knows she can get him parole. I loved when Tessa really came into her own person, she found her inner biker bitch when she needed it. Trust me she needs it more than once. Even when Max royally fucks up, yep I am not going to sugarcoat it, he fucks up big time. Had that been me? Well. I may have possibly needed legal representation myself and that is all I am going to say.
Unlawful Seizure left me wanting even more, and by that I mean I want the next book now. No it is not a cliff hanger don’t worry I just was so engrossed into it I wanted more. Baylee Rose is an author we need to keep an eye on because I believe we, readers I mean, found a new one to love!

When I first read the description of Unlawful Seizure, I was intrigued and super excited to read it. For some reason, I just couldn’t love this story. The writing was good, and Baylee Rose did a good job with describing everything that is going on in the story. I would read another book from Baylee even though this one did not work for me.
The issues I had with Unlawful Seizure were the storyline and the characters. Reading what the story was about had my attention until I started the book. It was hard for me to get through the first few chapters of the story, but I pushed on sometimes knowing the story isn’t good until the middle. That, unfortunately, didn’t happen for me. The story stayed the same, and the characters were just as aggregating. Max is a man of dominance. He needs to be in charge. I never mind a man like that in books I read, but he came off just mean and not sexy at all. I didn’t like Tess at all. Normally I can find something I like in a character but Tess just seemed needy, and she was a little annoying. She wasn’t a character that I connected with or wanted to keep reading about.
