I should have known that this one would not be the book for me. The blurb says it all. Jase, a member of the Kings of Korruption MC, is a total player and goes trough women like some men go trough socks. I should have let this one be. But I couldn't, just had to read it, in case I was missing something great.
I did not. The first scene did me in. I mean come on, Jase was at the time 19. And then he gets to have a threesome at some rest stop in the middle of nowhere, while all his brothers just wait for him to finish up. For me just unbelievable and over the top. The more books I read, the more I come across male characters like Jase. Overconfident men, who had strings of women. I really used to get annoyed and now it's just boring. I mean, come on people!! It's time for something new. This "bad-boy man-whore to faithful loving man" routine is getting old.
I sometimes wonder if there are such men out there in the real world. I have no idea, but I would really like to know. There has to be some sort of truth there, otherwise this topic wouldn't be in so many romance books.
As for the story it was ok. I liked Ellen and hated her ex-boyfriend. His sudden interest in his son was a little bit far fetched for me. After 10 years? I would think he had better thing to do. But perhaps he became to boring and decided he needed some excitement in his life. I don't know and I really don't care at this moment.
I have to confess that I skipped a lot of pages. Just wanted to know how things were ending.
At the end we get a glimpse of the next book. This will be interesting. Not just for the main characters, but also for the readers. Will Geri Glenn be able to turn a disliked character into a badass heroine? I'm curious, so I will be reading the next book in this series.
