Opposites attract, or so they say. With Gwen constantly throwing sass and questioning every word that comes out of Gambler’s mouth, Gambler and Gwen maybe the first couple to prove that saying wrong. All Gambler wants to do is keep Gwen safe. He never expected the unwanted attraction and the need to protect her. Gwen has learned the hard way that things are not always what they seem. Can Gambler persuade Gwen to take a chance on him, or will all bets be off? Due to sexual content and profanity, this book is recommended for ages 18+. ***Book 5 in The Devil's Knights Series***
Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Winter Travers is a devoted wife, mother, and aunt turned author who was born and raised in Wisconsin. After a brief stint in South Carolina following her heart to chase the man who is now her hubby, they retreated back up North to the changing seasons, and to the place they now call home. Winter spends her days writing happily ever afters, and her nights being a karate mom hauling her son to practices and tournaments. She also has an addiction to anything MC related, puppies, and baking.
I loved this one. It had humor and of course a hot guy to fall in love with. Gwen was amazing and her hair was to die for. And Gambler was just wow! Now on to the next one.
Gambler is a man who is afraid to let someone into his life because he's afraid he will lose them. He lost someone he cared about and that is when he closed his heart forever.
Gwen was in love with Matt and then realized that it was all a lie. She's afraid to let anyone in because it might be worst than her ex.
Let just say that Gambler and Gwen butt heads every frickin time!! I love it!! I can't wait for the next book. I hope Demon, Slider and Hammer get a book. I can't forget Paige.
“With only knowing Gwen a short time, I knew she could be the one thing to bring me to my knees and make me beg for mercy.”
I have Read this Series from Book 1 , & I'm so very sorry I haven't reliased I haven't written reviews for the other Fantastic books that I have throughly enjoyed... Every book has strong female leads , the Gals have Nutty friendships , the story lines are Meaty with a touch a dark with what happens to the leading ladies in there respective Books with the Guys once they realise that , that's the Women for them being very protective .. Some great male Charators , funny, grumpy but knowing how to get around keep the women save from rivals , in a sutle way wel except the Prez (Lo/King)he seems to just pick his women (Meg)up & move her out of trouble or where he wants her to be ...lol Ok this Book . Wow what a read , in the beginning Gwen did a lot of to & frowing will she won't she ... But she loved the S€X with Gambler ... Well who wouldn't ! But she sure did have her reasons to be weary .. It's a good one & a big WTHell !Christ ! Gambler he doesn't give much away ... But he can't seem to keep his hands & other parts away from Gwen .. Then he pushes ford wanting all in... But The Assasins are there always & people need to be protected , & they are.. Gwen's sister Paige moves to town , & I'm wondering who's going to rock her world & what's her back story?? Meg finally gives King the answer he's been waiting for .. Finally!! Demon's hard case he's starting to be one of my favorite's ... Well worth my Time & Money & Can't wait for the next Book ... Happy Reading people
I really liked both characters. The only thing that held me back a little bit was the backstory to both Gambler and Gwen's life, they both felt "pushed" to make the story happen. I think you don't have to these major events to make all stories, but the book was still a good read.
Winter has done it again. I've loved this series and Gambler's Longshot is just as good as the other books. Gambler is a dirty talking, protecting alpha that falls for stubborn and independent Gwen. The two of them lock heads quite often and I enjoyed both of their characters. Lots of chemistry between them. I also loved Gwen's rockabilly style! On a side note, I have enjoyed reading the continued interaction between King and Meg. However, Meg's character has developed over the series and I honestly think she's become one of my favorite heroines ever!!!
Gambler and Gwen are a great addition to this series. Gwen is a tough woman and she is her own woman, but Gambler comes along. He is bossy and they just can't get enough of each other. I love the interaction between all the characters and the tight knit group the women become. I cannot wait for the next book.
I liked the book and the story was o.k. But there were just too many printing errors for me. When you pay good money you should get good quality. Misprint printing drives me crazy. There is no good excuse for it. It makes the author look bad and everyone else connected with the book. I guess they just don't care.
Once again Ms Travers delivers another awesome story. Gwen was hilarious and Soo gave Gambler a run for his money. Such a great pairing. Luved it. Looking forward to the wedding.
Over all I love this series, great characters and it's MC but there is very little MC action. They have a threat from another club and go on lockdown, but every time one of the women or men want something they leave the clubhouse. No wonder people keep getting shot at or kidnapped or even just threatened. Also Gambler gets shot and passes out on his bike with Gwen, she stears the bike to the side before losing control but it was a better drop than it could have been with only minor injuries, but not a mention of how well she did to save them, no explanations or thankyou, no conversion at all, come on honestly that just isn't realistic. Plus where did all the animals diaper to, Gwen has a cat that is supposed to be in Gamblers room but hasn't been mentioned since they first arrived. Meg and Troy both have dogs but they don't seem to be running round the clubhouse. Meg seems to have gone completely scary. I do get the sex to a certain point but surely the guys have the strip club and garage to run as well as protecting the women going to work as completely normal. I'm invested in these characters, I want them happy and safe, honestly no MC Series has lockdown like this and most of them would be doing something about the threats a lot faster. This had great potential and I did enjoy it but I really think it could have gone further, why MC when it's more about the women, the angst and sex. Even the deal with Leo is only on the very edge of the story. I am a bit disappointed now with lack of progress and pretty much much the same arguments by different couples, I'm waiting for my imagination to get stretched, some decent action on the MC front, I know these guys are legit but really they killed one guy in book 2 and the rest of the time the only action has been against one of them. If I hadn't bought the whole series and liked the characters I think I would have given up. Also where is Remy? I know he is almost adult but he was living mainly with Meg until college. We need a bit more consistentecy and follow through. Despite all this I did enjoy reading.
Winter is moving fast paced with this next Devils Knights story. Gambler takes a long shot chance on Gwen. I found this story a quick read, but am wondering if because of the fast nature it felt quick, LOL.
Gambler is a gambling man. He doesn't lose a bet and is happy to take a longshot in the hopes of a win. When he meets Gwen, he can't decide if the gamble he took is worth it or not. When he feel history repeating, he knows he needs to take a shot and make it a win.
Gwen is rockabilly with attitude. She has made her armor impenetrable. When Gambler shakes her foundation, she's not sure whether she should run or open up and let him in. I thought Gwen had a fabulous personality. She was guarded but had a huge heart.
The MC faces some serious threats from the Assassins. It is clear that the Knights will have a battle ahead to protect their family and home. I am very curious where the story will go in the series and how the Assassins will be dealt with.
Gambler and Gwen had a big love, hate relationship. Once they both let their guard down they find that together is a great place to be. Mr. T made me want to giggle and enjoy kitty snuggles. Gambler's secrets had my heart feeling for him. He really opened up to Gwen which showed how committed he was to a future with her.
It will be an exciting ride to see what happens next in this series. Overall this was a good story. We met a few more new characters who I'm sure will play a role in the future of the Devils Knights. This one was 4 Pointe shoe read for me. While I enjoyed it I felt it was more drama that communicating would have solved a lot of. That said I know communication is not always easy, LOL.
GAMBLER TOOK A GAMBLE OMG! THE CLIFFHANGER! AAAAAHHH! Winter, you're killing me! Lol. I absolutely love this series and each book just gets better. Meg and King's and Rigid and Cyn's love is getting contagious through out the club brothers and I love every minute of it. At first I wasn't sure whether Gambler and Gwen's characters were right for each other or that they would get together but Wow was I wrong. Talk about opposites attract, these two couldn't be more different but they sure did fit together. When they finally realized their attraction to each other and let lose HOLY MOLY! They were off the charts smokin hot! Gwen is such a spitfire and the way she and Gambler kept butting heads it got kind of frustrating because you just knew they were gonna be great together. At times I was laughing out loud and at times I had tears in my eyes. The suspense was intense and exciting and there were a few surprises too but you'll love it. Now the cliffhanger. Lol. I can't wait to get to the next book. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES TO EVERYONE!
Gwen & Gambler are perfect for each other. I love the fire & passion between them. It burns bright. You see it & read it when they look at each other. I know lots going on in the storyline, but can't wait to read about Demon! I'm sure Leo's & Gwen's sister will find someone in the club. She m worried about Cyn & the baby. I'm scared someone's gonna catch her out. I recommend this series to be read in order or you might be lost. I can't wait to see what happens next in the storyline. Bring on the wedding!! I did notice Ethel was not around as much!! I miss her motherly advice to the girls. Love this series!!
Series has a pretty good storyline although no real in depth development of characters. Editing is definitely needed. Had "had ringed" bell and something about "beeling something or other" in one of the books. Still don't know what that meant. Meg in the first novel's issue was low self esteem due to a crappy husband and that went on forever. I almost didn't finish the book!! Take more time writing more in depth characters and editing before submitting.
Gambler & Gwen's story is hot hot hot - not only the steamy times, but also they are both hotheads who argue w/ each other quite a bit. In the beginning, this is a bit much for me, because their inner thoughts are both showing they're being pulled toward each other. But, I really like both characters & enjoyed their story! I also like that we get to see the other couples. They are all family & Meg is always an entertaining read!! : )
Gwen gets drawn into the trouble the MC is having when she hires Marley. Now Gambler is entrusted with protecting her. Of course they clash but that's because they are hot for each other. Once they give into their feelings it's pretty much smooth sailing. A few hiccups but they don't last long. More craziness from Meg, Cyn, Marley and now Gwen. I am wondering what Leo is going to bring to the club though.
This is book #5 in the Devil’s Knight series and is Gambler and Gwen’s story. Oh Gambler how I love this man he so sweet and try’s his hardest to keep his cool with Gwen it’s quite comical. Now Gwen she is awesome and very easy to fall in love with. She does have her issues and boy is she sassy but that is a quality of hers that makes up her amazing character. I really enjoyed read their story and can’t wait to start book #6 now.
Gwen loves the pinup fashion and is a hairdresser. Gambler is a biker who wants a chance with her. There is trouble brewing with the club and Gwen and all the others are staying at the clubhouse. Gambler takes this opportunity to make Gwen see what a good match they are. This was a fun romance, but they forgot about her pet cat about a third of the way into the story. The romance was good but I kept worrying about the cat.
Each one of these stories has been absolutely fantastic, and this one was no exception! I love this series, the characters, and each of their unique stories. It's a definite must read for those who love MC stories! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
The story is great except for the Meg and King scene. The woman needs medication and king needs to grow a set back. If you have to beg a woman who is hi polar I might add to marry you she isn’t worth it. And yeah she is in desperate need of medication. I if she gets ant crazier I might not be able to read more of the series.
Ugh I have literally stayed up and stopped adulting for this book. Gambler is by far my favorite character. So alpha. I love how Gwen was able to keep him on his toes as well. Cant wait to dive into the next book.
Can't go wrong loving the Devil's Knights! This series is simple and sweet but it still has that edge that I like with my MC romance stories. Ms. Travers does a great job!!
Great book yet again The one thing i did'nt care for was the importance that Meg's caracter had in this story Wasnt a fan of that, it wasnt her story i thought it took away from the caracters that this book was about
Lots of grunting and growling going on in this one, Gwen may be a sassy britches but she’s a complete pushover for the sexy growl. Not normally my cup of tea, but I just love these mega alpha bikers, because with the growling comes a level of sweet that’s hard to resist.
Thoroughly enjoyable characters with an interesting storyline. Once you start the series you won't want to stop. Hot alpha male bikers, the truly original women that they fall in love with all come together for one fantastic story.
Loved the characters and the story line. Quite a few spelling errors and a wrong sentence, but overall a great book. Can be read as a stand alone, but it's better in order.
