Sometimes playing with fire is worth the burn.

Katie:

He is a very bad man. There is nothing good about him…
Unless you count the things he does to me between the sheets. Those are good, very good.
Everything else about him is bad to the core.
One drunken night of bone-melting sex should have been the end of it—especially since I woke up alone.
Until he shows up at my door complete with handcuffs. I hate him for what he’s doing. Too bad my body can’t resist him.

Torch:

She has a body that makes men beg. I had to have her.
I didn’t realize getting my dick wet inside of her would be a drug---one I’d crave over and over.
Katie’s past brings me to her door. I should walk away. I can’t.
My President asked me to do this job and technically, I am. I’m doing her against the wall, in the shower, on the counter, the table and occasionally even the bed.
The heat between us is intense and white-hot like an open flame.
I can’t walk away, even for my President, the man I swore to follow into hell.
I warned her I am no one’s happily ever after. I’m too dark.
I’m more of a nightmare.
She chose to play with fire. Hell, I did too.
It’s too late, now we’ll both be BURNED

I'm just a simple small town country girl, haunted by Alpha Men who talk in my head 24 hours a day.

I knew I wanted to write when it became clear I couldn't be happy with just viewing other people's stories. I always wanted to rewrite them.

Like why did Jack have to die? Why couldn't Rose move her butt over? Because that was a huge piece of wood she was on, people.

Happy Endings should be fought for, but they should always happen. Mine might take some curves and twists, but they eventually get there.

Having published over fifty stories, it always feels surreal that this is my life. Hitting USA Today had me crying for days, but nothing is more special than hearing from readers that they loved one of my books.

I read this book directly after reading the first in the series, I would not recommend reading this book alone without having read Captured first.

This is part 2 of a cliffhanger, although this story is about Torch and Katie. Just like the first book, this one has elements I loved and elements I didn't love.

*spoilers*

Loved -- I love a good, filthy talking, dominant man. Torch is a great one, and I enjoyed him completely. A lot wicked, a lot sweet -- he's a great mix. The plot was good, I'm always a sucker for him-chasing/her-on-the-run kinds of books, so I loved that element. The pacing was good, things moved at a decent clip without too much lag. I liked the fact that we get to revisit the two main characters from the first book, and that things get ramped up for their next/final installment. (Torch and Katie do get their HEA in this book.)

What I didn't like -- Katie and her impetuousness and inability to put her sister/niece above her vagina. There, I said it. Honestly, if my sister and niece were in danger and we were on the run (from two sets of people, not just one), I wouldn't be hooking up with someone from the group who is specifically looking for us. At least not in the way it was written here. I wish that Ms. Marie had created Katie's involvement with Torch as more of a necessity versus an 'oh I have to have him' kind of thing -- like maybe they needed to get info on what Skull knows about Beth, or they need to find out why Skull is even looking for Beth -- and with no friends on the inside, the only way to get information is to be a mole. Nobody in the MC club knew Katie, so she'd be the perfect drop. THAT would have been a better of a plot device; I'd have had a lot more respect for Katie and her choices if that had been the case. I get it that Torch is hot and all, but Katie, c'mon girl, ho's before bro's. I also found Katie's constant arguing to be a little much. Honestly at times I didn't know what Torch saw in her other than her rack and her asset. She didn't seem to put a whole lot of thought into her decisions, and with her sister and niece on the line, I think Katie could have been written stronger.

I don't know if I missed this, but did Katie ever tell Torch the real reason her leg has been hurt? She told him a partial truth, but not the whole truth. I kept waiting for that to occur, but either I skimmed over it or it didn't happen.

So now we are waiting for the next book to come out and I for one can't wait. But I was sad to see that the delay is due to Ms. Marie's mother's health. We can wait Ms. Marie, mom comes first. Always.

I'm disappointed that I have to rate this so low. The chronological ordering of the stories just didn't work for me.

The last book ended in this major cliffhanger leaving Beth and Skull relationship pretty much destroyed. I was expecting this to focus on them a bit more and finish off their story, instead it was all about telling her sister Katie's story with Torch. They were fine, but I couldn't focus on their relationship because I was still stressing about Skull! I found myself skimming the story till I could get more glimpses of Beth and Skull.

They were still an interesting couple, had some pretty steamy moments and Torch was pretty caring and loving towards Katie. But my focus was just else where. The next book better be about finishing off Skull and Beth's story... or else.

I did not read the first book, Capture. But I took a chance to read Burned. The story of Torch/ Hunter and Katie. I do like the fun banters between them. I also like Torch/ Hunter. He is loyal, fierce and super fun. Especially his T shirt collection. I am dying to know from where the author gets the T shirt inspiration.

The rest of the story is luke warm. Maybe I skip Capture so I do not know the detail of the story between Skull and Beth. The sex is hot. Mild BDSM. But with Hunter dirty and fun mouth, its adding to the steamy. I also like Hunter's imaginative swearing words.

Overall I do like this book OK. A fun read for my bad day.

5+HELL YES STARS

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better... oh yes, it did. Don't get me wrong, Blaze made my ovaries scream but Torch set my body on fire! He's on the hunt for Beth to bring her back to Blaze. If it's true, after 2 years, she may be alive. Along the way the man whore is doing more than just searching for her, he's bedding a beauty he picks up from a bar. When he finds out who the girl is that he spent the night having (hot panty wetting) sex with not only is it quite a surprise for him but Kat as well.

Oh, God... What are you doing?"
"You like that, baby? Does it feel good? Do you like having my fingers ass-fucking you?

That's not the only thing he does to that forbidden spot!

 photo d973f24b-7b49-4808-a7b8-ffe232b0e727_zpszudpp5ys.jpg

Feisty, smart, protective, secretive, and hilarious is our heroine Kat. The banter between her and Torch, the entire time is entertaining to say the least. I loved them, a perfect pair. He holds her hostage time to time because he has a job to do and he can't let her get away. His President (Blaze) has assigned him a very important job but doesn't know about her being along at first but she comes in very handy.

Blaze is quite the asshole in this story, I understand him completely but if he would just shut up and listen! I hated him when he said this...

"Te tienes que callar la pinche boca!"
"Torch, grab la pinche bolsa."

Translated~
"You need to shut your God damn mouth!"
"Torch, grab the fucking bag."

I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! Yet at the same time it fit his temper.
I hardly have patience, I need #3 ASAP! Everyone should read this series.
At the end we get a short bit on the relationship between Sabre, Annie, and Latch. I enjoyed that very much! Annie, Good Lord, talk about clueless!

Tell me where you want me to touch you Annie, and I'll give you what you want, sweetheart."~~SABRE
"My cookie! Touch my cookie!"~~ANNIE

I was like, wtf?! Did I read that right?! What a prude, lol!

Some spoilers.

Unfortunately, I was not fan of this one.. I really liked the first one and would have loved if the second book was the conclusion to that story instead of starting up on Katie and Torch. I skimmed a lot just to read about Beth and Skull.

Personal preference here before the keyboard warriors attack: I didn't like how the H/h met, it was basically a one night stand turned more and by more I just mean lots more sex with some emotion. I actually felt there was a bit too many useless sex scenes. I don't understand how they fell in love if all they did was have sex. Not much relationship development.

I've seen some reviews that mentioned that Skull slept with someone else and yes he did but he had thought that Beth had been dead for years, so that did not bother me at all. He even yells at Beth saying he had to cheat on his wedding vows. He clearly wouldn't have done anything if he knew Beth was still alive.

I will read the next one because I want to see what happens with Beth and Skull.

I know, I know three stars WHAT!?! Well let me explain. Torch and katies story could have been just as good as Skull and Beth's had we got our conclusion of the first book out of the way before jumping into new characters love story. I know the story fit with Beth and Katie on the run and all but there could have been more on Skull/Beth in the beginning of this book to apease the readers, I felt like I rushed through Torch/Katie story to find out about Skull/Beth more. The author said she wasn't sure if she spliced the two books together well and I have to agree with her cocern. This book just frustrated me because I wasn't ready for a new couple I was still hung up on what was going on with Skull and Beth. This book had all the Hottness plus some, all the action, love, mc hottness as the first book and it really was a good story probably even great had I read it all instead of skimming through some just to find out more on Skull and Beth. That's on me! Not everyone may feel this way. However, when I connect with characters and there's a cliffy I expect some instant gratification going into the next book for purchasing said cliffy. Sadly in this I did not. If your going to make a trilogy then finish one book/ one couples story first, at the end of it introduce your next characters story with a cliffhanger if you must, just don't do it this way, this way the second couple gets cheated because you can't invest your emotions in them as much as the first book. Sadly another cliffhanger but you are warned. This next book comes out in April so not to long of a wait. Hopefully it's a wrap up for skull and Beth.

Ever want to just smack an author over the head and hug her at the same time? Yep...she did it again! I thought Captured put me through the emotional wringer and spit me back out...but OMG Katie and Torch will light you on fire and leave you in agony...seriously, this one will frustrate the hell out of you while making you beg for more punishment...hehe.
It pretty much just consumes you...their relationship is so volatile and yet you just feel deep down in your bones that things just HAVE to work out...somehow, some way and all I can say is "strap yourself in for the ride of your life".
Burned was heartbreaking and full of major misunderstandings that made some people do stupid things (but isn't that how bad stuff happens in real life?) but it also had some seriously intense action scenes involving club members who have caused major problems... and romance of epic proportions.
Do yourself a favor and grab this baby when it goes live because seriously, it just rocked my world (as it was tearing up my heart) and is absolutely necessary to read before the final Skull/Beth book.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

The best in the series! But still a very shitty smut like book about being woman being treated like garbage!! Her sister was more hard ass then the first book but it was the hero that I liked and why I gave it two stars because he did not care if he looked stupid he wanted his girl and he took care of her!!! I loved that unlike the hero in the other two books in this series. I am ssoooo freaking sorry I picked up this mess of a series.

While I liked Torch I wanted Skull and Beth.

I had very mixed feeling on 'Captured' but I wanted to follow Skull and Beth and find out how their story ended. Now while I knew going in this was a trilogy I didn't really expect Skull and Beth's story to run through all three and I didn't expect another cliffhanger at only 67%.
But my real issue was that I couldn't enjoy this book, even though I liked Torch and some of his lines were brilliant I found his story a distraction and I started skimming, I kept trying to stop but I wanted Skull and Beth not Torch and Katie and no matter how many times I tried to slow down I ended up skimming just about the whole book. At one point I told myself I'd go back and re-read it but if I'm being honest I know that's not going to happen.
It seemed a strange choice to write this book like this and it just didn't work for me.
So it's hard to review a book I didn't really read for me it was only 2* but that's unfair to the book itself so I'll give 3*

I'm actually disappointed, not that I didn't love Katie and Hunter, I did! However Captured is what made me fall in love with Skull and Beth and I was hoping there was going to be more of them.. and there wasn't. I knew the story was going to focus on Katie and Hunter, but all they did was sit in the car, travel, and have sex..that's it.. and then we get a tiny glimse of Beth and Skull and bam CLIFF HANGER.
Now the third book will be out in April, which focuses on Annie and her two boy toys, but I won't be indulging since I figure I'll get a few more pages of Skull and Beth so I'll just come to my own HEA.

"Burned" is the story of Katie and Hunter.
We know Katie is the initially presumed dead- actually alive- twin sister of Beth with a tragic past and Hunter is Torch, Skulls right hand.
I'm gonna review the book before my rant.
The story is two years after Craved and Captured.Beth and Katie are on a run with Gabby, when Katie has a one night stand with Torch under disguise.
At the same time, Skull comes to know about Beth and Gabby and now his MCs are looking for them.
What starts out as a hot one nighter turns into a marathon when Torch discovers Katie's identity.
Both have an hot- feelings involved- no boundaries sex while they fall for each other. Enjoyed their story.
Now to my main issue, why not make this book three and honestly tell what every reader wanted to know since book 1 ended on a cliffhanger- about Beth and Skull?!
Even though I liked Katie and Torch, I held my breath every time the Beth and Skull were mentioned and eagerly waited for their snippets. This book doesn't reveal much about them but they completely overshadowed the story, and that's why, this gets the rating it does.
Ps. I didn't deserve to read Skull with a hoe.

I didn't like how author continued other story leaving Skull & Beth's relation into a destruction. I read this only for Skull & Beth..I skimmed almost everything except Beth & Skull's part. I also didn't like the years gap between them..Some gap would have been acceptable.. I understand Skull's behaviour towards Beth, bcz comeon he blamed himslef for almost 2 years thinking he killed Beth. I don't know how Beth thought that Skull would not love het anymore or do that to her..But again I understand her too..I think nobody was right or wrong here. She was young & scared. He was hurt from her. But, I didn't like him sleeping with other women. Then again he thought she is dead & after 1.5 years he tries to live again only bcz the girl reminded him of Beth. Everyone deserves to that. But, I also liked how he never does that again the moment he finds about Beth. I just didn't like this cliffhanger. I wanted more of Skull & Beth.. There happy times..

Hordan Hordan Jordan! Woman you did it again. I have a new book husband to pet and call my own hehe You really outdid yourself with this book. I thought I had loved Skull- I still do but Torch swooning all over the place. And Katie gah loved her- one of the only female characters in a book that I could be all hey let's hang out with :) So now for the important part- my review.
The sexual chemistry was jumping off the pages and setting them afire with the burn between Hunter and Katydid. You might as well not have on panties when you read this book, no lie. I kid you not it's everything I love in a good dirty biker read with action. So much is answered from before and I am left with a big smile on my face and a hunger for more from this series. I can't wait for the next.

Hot, gritty MC read

Kat and her sister are on the run from family from the MC, moving constantly dodging danger and one night with torch brings it all to a halt and results in getting caught, what she didn't expect was Torch to also capturing her heart.

Told in dual pov's and a continuation in the series. Jordan Marie writes a gritty, excitable read.

If you're looking for a hot fast paced read with a domineering alpha male who finally meets his match, a plot filled with danger, angst and a likeable sarcastic mouthy female then this is for you.

Would I read more from this author? Yes, it's all I expect in an MC read.

The only thing about these books is you can’t read out of order, they are all intertwined.

Torch and Katie are crazy good together!

Solid 4 stars. I like Hunter and Katie’s story best so far. This couple is in close proximity throughout most of the book, so we got to actually see a relationship and trust build. It’s spicy 🥵 and gets us closer to finding out about Skull and Beth’s deal. For a motorcycle club … it’s pretty mellow.

No Thanks....

I wanted to like this book just because when the author stated at the beginning who these characters demanded their story be written I started to feel a certain kinship w/he. At the moment I'm mainly/only a visual Artist daring, painting and using tablets and app.s to create then transfer to canvas but my imagination is going 24/7 and two years ago when I start down the path that turned me to what feels like a hard core reading addict ;)... I started come no with ideas and the characters for stories that demand to be told that have me sometimes laughing or crying, angry or aroused but all demanding to be set free and I pray so me day soon to figure out how to set them free.... But while I'm m grateful she unlike myself has accomplished her goal.... This just is Sooo not for me, the " redeeming the man whore' trope I s a really, really tricky trope to me especially since if we could have a few bucks for all the ones out there ,we could ALL quit work for a while.... I tried to log key Torch/Hunter ,really I did from where he's seeing her constantly as just another piece of $&@ to where our overly inflated, narcissistic neanderthal starts thinking he's done not her a favor by wanting to keep her around... O goody!!! Like he's a catch just because he's attractive
And has skills in bed , he 1st is allowed to treat her ho ever he pleases ( "good girl ",spanking, do as your told BS) ( such a total turn off) I wanted throw up at the whole " wish I had time to " train her " to be what I want ) (Dear god she's not a child',dog, cat, horse or some type of pet!!!) if we had a book where a woman who's not a Domme was thinking about a man like that we'd think her emasculating, and him a wuss and we'd turn away, but some how it's sexy for a woman to drop her drawers for ANY man who flips her switch and call her "good girl" or something equally inane or stupid like sunshine ( calling a woman you've know 20 minutes sunshine feels insulting, like learning her name is too big a commitment) anyway treating women like crap and thinking sex and his cock is the answer to EVERYTHING,Torch may have Never been the to beat or abuse a woman like Katie has been in the past, but he's still a selfish hole who Only ever thinks of himself and what he wants... My last straw was Katie having a total freak out/melt down ( I sure her part justifies it ) about the idea of going condom less over fears of getting pregnant ,Torch sees just how terrified she is,does he ask ? Does he care ? Hell no,he just makes her have sex w/out one anyway no caring in the least really about her or her wishes, fears or rights to her own body.... Of course his huge $&@! Is all she wants soo it's ok ....
No Thanks... Torch is too much a giant $rick to deserve a story..

5 STARS!!

This is the second book in Jordan Marie's Devil's Blaze MC series, and it picks right up where Captured, the first book in the series, leaves off. This is not a series of standalones, and it is imperative that you read Captured before reading this book. For an even richer experience, I highly recommend reading Craved, Sabre, Annie & Latch's story, as well. That story runs concurrently to the storyline between the end of Captured and the beginning of Burned. It is included in Possess: An Alpha Romance Anthology.

This book was the perfect continuation of the first book. Fraught with intense emotion, Katie and Torch's love story is a hard-fought one. These two got wrapped up in each other quickly, but Katie, having been used and abused by every single man she's ever met, is not easy to trust, and boy did she make Torch work for it. Torch, though, has had the benefit of watching two of his brothers fall to their women, so he recognizes the signs, and he doesn't pull any punches in his attempts to earn her trust and make her see they're better together than they are apart.

But when Katie overhears a conversation she shouldn't have heard, instead of talking to Torch about it, she takes off, unknowingly leading everyone, including Skull and a rival MC working with the Donahues, straight to Beth. Will Katie and Torch work through this breach of her trust? Will they be able to convince Skull that Beth didn't deceive him?

This story is just so, so engrossing and is the perfect platform to showcase Jordan Marie's talent as an author. She is in her element here, giving her readers complex, interesting characters, a richly layered, multifaceted and intriguing as hell story interspersed with witty, smart banter and enough steam to singe the fingers of the hand holding your Kindle. She kept me guessing, she kept me on my toes, and she totally left me wanting - twice. I am completely caught up in this story. Equal parts gut wrenching and heart pounding, this is not a series that I will forget anytime soon and one I cannot recommend highly enough. I said it in my review of Captured, and I'll reiterate it here: This series is destined to become a top series in the MC romance genre. Whatever you may be reading now, put it down, and pick up this series. I promise, you won't be disappointed.

** I was a beta reader. This review represents my honest opinion of the story. I will purchase the book immediately upon release for my digital library.

I received an ARC of this book, and I received it this morning and all I can say is wow. I couldn't put it down once I started. I loved Hunter aka Torch, he is alpha to the core but he is also sensitive especially to the one woman who has captivated him which no other woman has been able to do, but the only problem with Katie is that she is Beth's sister and he needs her to find her sister. As they spend time together her ducking and dodging family that mean to harm her and him using her to pull her sister out of hiding for his president Skull they begin to fall for each other. I thought that their.relationship wasn't an easy one to find but they were so intriguing and fun you just wanted more. I will say that I'm so sad to see how Beth and Skull's relatonship is now especially after all the misunderstandings. I cannot wait for the next book in this series and hopefully we will see Skull forgive Katie. I hope to also get to see how Torch and Katie are doing after finding the love they both thought they would never find.

Great another cliffy, but not with Torch and Katie's story but for Skull and Beth.

We already knew Torch was hot, but typical male he does stupid stuff and Katie runs. There's a whole lot of running and chasing. I really want to know how Katie and Beth got away from France. There's no details there. Maybe we'll find out in the next book.

Katie and her sister are on the run from their mobster family. When they try to return to Skull and the Devil's Blaze, events and a traitor have them running from the club as well.

After two years, Skull discovers Beth is alive and has his daughter and he sends Torch and his club out to find them.

While Torch searches he meets a drop dead gorgeous babe in a bar and the sparks fly and he plans to bed the woman for the night before continuing the search, not realizing it's Katie.
Katie is this awesome kick ass character that is smart, talented, street savvy and isn't going to take any of Torches shit.

Torch pushes all the right buttons for Katie but she knows who he is and tries to run but Torch always catches her. Torch knows she's hot for him and beds her as he drags her back to the MC compound several states away, leaving you with a book filled with hot sex scenes in between learning some of what happened to Beth and Katie the last few years.

This book is about half story and half erotic encounters with this couple and while the sex is erotic and little kinky, I really wish the author had spent more time on the story. She hints at the abuse Katie suffered and horrible events Beth and her endured but we never get any real details. We know Pistol betrays Skull but then he weirdly absent when Skull discovers Beth's alive and starts searching for her. When I started this book I expected it to resolve Skull and Beth's story, while adding this new couple's story but it doesn't and the affect takes away from Hunter and Katie's story.

In the end we get a one part HEA and one part to be continued, so if you are invested with these characters have 'Released' handy to continue reading.

Let's just stop a momemt and appreciate this cover. With this cover model its excactly who i picture Torch to be.

Now Jordan Marie is a top author for me and one of my favorite go to authors for MC. The Devil's Blaze MC is a gritty and real series. I can totally see it giving SOA a run for ratings. Just saying.

Katie is one the run with her sister Beth from 2 groups of people. Torch happens to be one of the men looking for them. They meet by accident in a bar. She recognizes him but he doesn't her. I feel like that was either a blessing or a huge mistake. They share an amazing night and she escapes his clutches again. But he finds her and kidnaps her which doesn't sit well with Katie. Oh man does she give him a ryn dor his money. Its amazing to read. This book follows how they are both split down the middle. His is is loyalty to the club and wanting to get to know her and be with her. Her loyalty is to her sister and neice and getting to know Torch. Its all very heartbreaking. When stuff comes into light Katie tries to get her sister but only its about to get worse then it gets better.
I loved how she Jordan didn't leave us guessing on what was happening between Beth and Skull. Man oh man Skull my love i have never wanted to slap my book boyfriend like i wanted to slap you. How could you Skull?
I do love how Torch was able to get Latoe to seperate herself and their relationship from her sisters. Not going to lie there was some times where i thought Katie was a horrible sister. But she grew on me.
I love this series and i look forward to many more and many more from Jordan Marie.

3.5 Stars. Burned is book 2 in the Devil's Blaze MC series and I have to say (small spoiler alert), I was slightly disappointed not to be getting the conclusion of Beth and Skull's story from book one in this book. I did not mind reading from Katy and Torch's POV, but did think there would still be a resolution from where things were left off in Captured. Since there wasn't, this book seemed a little bit like a filler book and although I enjoyed the very steamy scenes and funny banter between Katy and Torch, I feel that their book could have happened later in the series so that it would have been appreciated more. I also know that writers go with the characters that are speaking to them the most and perhaps Katy and Torch is where Jordan Marie was being led at the time. Burned gives us a very good amount of backstory into both Katy and Beth so that we can delve deeper into what makes these twins who they are and why they have done the things they've done. For me, it shows that they are both strong women and makes them even more likable characters- even if I don't agree with them hiding from Skull. I like the Devil's Blaze MC and the secondary members so I will be reading more.

4.25 stars.

Listened to this on audio. I liked this books narrators more than book 1, while the narrators from the first were in a couple chapters here and there it was mostly the other narrators.

I also liked this book better than book 1 and enjoyed Torch's and Katie's relationship a lot more than Skull and Beth's. They were fun and even though there were issues in their relationship I liked seeing how everything played out for them.

Some things did bug me a bit.

While it's mentioned that Katie has dyslexia and I think ADD, there was never any evidence of that on the page. It was just mentioned here and there as a possible reason for Torch not wanting to be with Katie if he knew or it was found out that she had those problems.

It was a little annoying that this book didn't pick up with Skull and Beth, even though I loved Torch and Katie together, the first book left off with a cliffhanger and with Skull and Beth not together. So to be following for the most part a different couple, no matter how much I loved them, was frustrating.

Overall I liked this, there were problems, but this was still fun, quick read that I didn't want to stop listening to.
