Vengeance MC #4

Gage: A Vengeance MC Novel

Rate this book
~ GAGE ~
Book 4 in the Vengeance MC series

Dexter ‘Gage’ Peters is a firm believer in, ‘you live by the sword, you die by the sword.’ It’s just a pity that this time, he was the one who was wielding the sword that would inevitably carve his carefully constructed world apart.

Aislinn Banks has never been a dreamer, but especially not after the man who owned her heart threw it away so carelessly. Now, she’s smarter; more cautious. So, the last thing Aislinn expects when she drives down the main street of Furnace, Colorado was to see the man who used to be her best friend and also the man who broke her heart.

Needing to shelter the woman who inadvertently became involved in the ongoing war between his club Vengeance and rivals Rebel Warriors MC, Gage isn’t afforded the luxury of indecision where Aislinn is concerned. He has to man up and apologize to her, because like it or not, by walking into his town, she had just become his to protect.

Powerless to deny the chemistry between them, Aislinn and Gage take a leap of faith and explore the depths of their desire for each other. It couldn’t have come at a worse time, but occasionally, when you least expect it, an opportunity arises that could be the difference between living a life filled with love, or a life spent searching for it.

Nope. Rant ahead. You might want to skip this review.
Seriously.

Don't try to sell it to me that Dex had no idea what was going to happen to Aislinn all those years ago when he left. Don't write that Dex is all cut up, destroyed and fucking surprised about the hell she went through. It was more than obvious what was going to happen and everyone that had a chance to stop it from happening, did jack shit. Including Dex.
Then when it all gets laid out for him, he's all "but you are the only woman for me" blah blah blah...and they're all lovey-dovey together.

Fucking bullshit!

The supposedly strong connection the two of them was obviously pretty fucking weak seeing as he moved on with his life pretty easily. They were never together, but they were each other's best friends and like soulmates. While it may not have all been sushine and roses for Dex, it was certainly a fuckload better than what Aislinn went through. Why, oh why, do authors tend to write such shitty, fucked up lives for their heroines?? There's not even one good moment with a man, until the hero, no matter how undeserving that hero is. Yet, the hero gets to live life however the hell he chooses, fuck around and have fun.

I really struggled to finish this book. And only did because...I don't know...maybe I was hoping it was going to get better. I would have liked it had there had been some sort of resistance from Aislinn before they hooked up. But there wasn't. She was angry and blamed him for so many years, to have it all just turn around and be all "i've loved you forever" bullshit, not even remembering all the pain and heartache she'd been through previously. And seriously? After everything she'd gone through when she was a teenager, and even with Nicholas, am I supposed to believe she has absolutely no hangups whatsoever when it comes to sex???!!

Don't even get me started on the surprise daddy!

Enjoyable, Entertaining reads.
All Books in the Devil Spawn series and Vengeance series either have A few spelling errors, Letters missing from words eg hem instead of them, he instead of her etc, and other misc errors such as timeline not matching or description of events not matching in other books.
Apart from these issues I enjoyed the books and series.

Recommend.

Wow

I couldn't put my kindle down. Gage and Aislinn are two characters that will stay with you long after you finish this book. Aislinn has been through pure H... in her life. She was a sweet, trusting, loving but still strong headed little girl. The suffering she went through in her life made her a different person. She still had the same loving heart, just didn't trust as easily. She was a strong heroine that didn't let Gage get his way, well without fighting. Gage is a strong alpha male, who has loved and protected Aislinn since she was two years old and he was four. They have a bond that is unbreakable,no matter how many times it is tested. I love MC romances but I'm very picky about whether the book really makes the reader feel as if they are living the MC family or not. Mrs Thomas doesn't disappoint in this aspect. You feel like you're actually a part of the MC and I love the fact that I got to read about other members in the MC. The other members of the MC have their own stories that we get a glimpse of and can't wait to read more about.

Another brilliant book by Natasha Thomas. This is Gage's or (Dex's) story. He met and fell in love with Aislinn when he was 4 years old and she was 2. They had each other as they had both been dealt with bad parents. They were there for eachother until when he was 18 he was forced to leave her by an ultimatum that would come back to haunt the both of them. Fast forward 16 years she comes back into his life with her job. Along with her comes her partner in crime Meg who along with Aislinn had me laughing out loud at their antics. They both have come together with a lot of baggage but they make a go of it.

Natasha Thomas' books just keep getting better and better. There are some twist, turns, suspense but over all love. The banter and wittiness of the characters is worth the read. I could not put this down.
