“Sometimes, two people have to fall apart to realize how much they need to fall back together.” -Colleen Hoover They came from two completely different lives: Tyler is a werewolf raised in a pack where being gay isn’t an option, and John was trapped in a hopeless marriage as a woman where he wasn’t allowed to transition into himself. The thing they have in common: they both decided to abandon everything they had ever known in order to brave an uncertain future.
Fate and coincidence bring these two men together, and they feel the connection of kindred spirits. They decide to take a chance on the happiness that they both long for, but happiness never comes easy, and both of them carry heavy baggage and heavier secrets. Their bright future is darkened when shadows from each of their pasts come knocking, and Tyler and John must learn to better understand each other, to protect each other, and to forgive each other. No one ever said love was easy, but they must decide if it’s worth fighting for.

Note, there may be some minor spoilers in this review, but not anything that'll spoil anything big. Possibly minor details.
OK, let's talk about Trans Shift. I went into this one really excited for a M/M romance book featuring a trans MC. I was a little wary, concerned about how respectfully the author would handle this topic, but mostly eager to read something new. We got off on a good foot. For the first 30% or so I was glued. I even stayed on the elliptical at the gym 30 min. longer than usual because I lost track of time in this book. Then shit got crazy.
Tyler is a werewolf who has left his pack because he is gay, and they won't accept that. The alpha's daughter is freaking insane and obsessed with wanting to mate him and won't accept his rejection, so Tyler runs away to start a new life. John is a trans man who left his abusive husband and, with the help of his estranged mother, gained freedom and began his transition. The start of their relationship is innocent and sweet. They've got instant chemistry and their first few meetings (the club, their first date) are very sweet. I was smiling like a dork while reading. But then, after their first date, the story jumps six months into the future and John and Tyler are basically living together. Neither has revealed his secret to the other.
Tyler and John have been together for 6 months, essentially living together, but they haven't had sex. Then, suddenly, in one night, there's lots of sex. Before/during/after, John never tells Tyler he is trans and Tyler does not notice himself. I found this to be a bit unrealistic and couldn't quite believe it. I had some other concerns over the way the sex went down, but as a cis woman, I don't have the experience or right to criticize what happens in this book. This review has been edited with that in mind.
After this, the hits keep on coming. I'm not going to hash it all out because I promised no major spoilers. But some other major issues I had:
1. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much descriptive text. Each time the POV changed, the new POV character would rehash every single thing that had just been told from the other POV. This was incredibly annoying and repetitive. Also, there would be paragraphs or even pages building up from one line of dialogue to the next. Noah Harris puts George RR Martin to shame when it comes to incredibly superfluous and obnoxious descriptive text.
2. Villified female to the MAX. The alpha's daughter is basically satan reincarnate in this book. I'm pretty used to (even though I'm always annoyed/frustrated by) the evil female in M/M romance. It's a ridiculously all-too-common theme. But this story took it and freaking blew it up. Becky is so evil and hateful and spiteful and ugh. Way too over the top.
3. The ending. THE FREAKING ENDING. If you've read this you know what I mean when I say WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. If you haven't, then, well, be prepared to be left wondering WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.
I'm giving this one 2 stars because the first 30% or so was really good. I got into it and enjoyed getting the early stages of character building. But the rest of it.... nope.
Two stars is generous for what this book made me go through.
It started off great, I love trans rep and had yet to read a paranormal/shifter romance with a trans MC. So I was in for a treat, right? Wrong.
There was an abundance of unnecessary drama and very unrealistic plot points. The only reason I didn’t DNF this is I kept hoping it would get better, but nope, it got worse.
Spoilers ahead, watch out. But it’s probably best you don’t read this book anyway.
First of all, John was super hypocritical getting mad at Tyler for not telling him he was a shifter when he still hadn’t told him he was trans, after SIX MONTHS. I wanted to enter the book and throttle them both for being dumbasses.
Also, what was up with the six month jump at the beginning? They get together, then BAM, it’s six months later. What. If you skip the whole relationship, it takes away the potential connection I could’ve made to the characters and their story. And after said time jump we go from zero to 100 real quick, in the worst way possible. Extremely unrealistic and honestly not hot smut. *insert meme of Hercules screaming disappointed*
Second of all, what was with the cartoon villains? Couldn’t decide if it was better to have the typical homophobic/transphobic abusive ex or the overdone homophobic stalker caricature of a woman — so why not have both.
Last point of my rant is the pregnancy. Felt really unrealistic even in a paranormal reality with magical rules. It added nothing to the romance and felt like a prop put there for drama’s sake.
Excuse the ranting, I just had so many high hopes for this book and was sorely disappointed.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
You know those books that make you struggle not to throw your ereader across the room? Well this was one of them. I am really pushing it to give it a 2 star. Not that it isn't well edited with likeable main characters. No, there was just so much stuff that made me rant in frustration. Each man has a big secret, one is a werewolf and one is trans. The werewolf secret reveal is handled perfectly. The trans issue? Completely unbelievable. As of six months into their relationship Tyler still doesn't know that John doesn't have a penis. Here is where I am shaking my head:
1) Who waits six months to have sex?
2) John all but lives at Tyler's apartment and they sleep all snuggled up but he never wonder's why John doesn't sport morning wood?
3) In all their making out in the months before sex did they never grind on each other or grope any? Six months of nothing but kissing? No, not exactly, because John says, when they finally get busy, that he's touched Tyler's before. Obviously Tyler didn't return the favor.
So then they have sex and STILL Tyler doesn't suspect anything supposedly because they do it from behind. Hmmm. Not buying it. Another month goes by with them having (anal) sex and John giving Tyler oral sex but Tyler is still not clued in. He must be the most selfish lover in history. What kind of gay man doesn't want to see his boyfriend's junk?
Enough about all that incredulity. Now on to the long, angsty, and agonizingly detailed depressions these two sink into at several times in the book. Good Lord, these are the mopey-est, most downer guys I have ever seen. They are each reduced to barely functioning at a number of points in the story.
As if this is not rough enough, the book drags EVERYTHING out. Will John walk across the room and talk to Tyler and how many pages will it take to do it? Everything seems to be built up into this unnecessary or over the top tension that is just emotionally exhausting. It's like there's a bad soundtrack that swells ominously during all these long, drawn out scenes until we (at last) get to a character saying "hi", yelling "stop", or some other dramatic turning moment. I kept thinking "oh get on with it!".
I was also a little tired of the almost cartoon villain. Becky was all but twirling a mustache and cackling maniacally, with her complete evil and omnipotent reach.
So, all in all, I really didn't like this book. It had potential but wound up just grating on my nerves.
Oh my, that was just awesome! Girl meets boy. Boy is really mean and pulls girls pigtails. Then there's a reborn Boy whom meets a lonely pup. Yet there's a Stalker girl that decided the pup should only be hers for ever and ever.
A new standard of romance genre. It use to bore me. But add in the 2000s gender identity and flexible sexuality spectrum. You got a banger of a tale. Pun intended 🤣😁🌹
Spectacular! That’s how I would describe this book. From beginning to end, I was on the edge of my seat with anticipation, waiting to find out where things would go next! I was immediately captured by the attraction between Tyler and John. I couldn’t help but wish I could be in John’s place every once in a while. Tyler treats him with such love, respect and kindness. Man or woman, I believe that’s the way you want to be treated by your partner at all times. Tyler is running from his pack. He knows they’ll never accept him for who he is. Every day before work he stops at the coffee shop for a coffee and a peak at the cute guy named John behind the counter. Having left the only family, he’s ever known, Tyler is lonely. He works at the local zoo in the wolf enclosure. It’s not exactly the family he left behind, but the wolves know what he is and respect him. Although he’s not looking for a one-night stand, and because he doesn’t get out much, he treats himself to a night out at one of the clubs in town. When a young man walks up to him in the club, he’s a bit unsure what to say until the man introduces himself. John disappeared from the life he had a long time ago. No longer able to live in the abusive relationship with his husband, he fled to the only safe haven he knew, his biological mother. With her help, he became a new man. He was able to transition to the man he always was on the inside. And now John has been checking out the hot guy he only knows Tyler, and his favorite coffee preference, for 3 months. When his crush doesn’t show up for his daily boost of coffee, it’s the kick in the pants John needs to hit the club with his best friend Jamie and her girlfriend, Kayla. The relationship between Tyler and John is not an easy one. It’s met with huge obstacles from the crazy ex-husband, to the female alpha wolf from Tyler’s pack who refuses to give him up. And let’s not forget that Tyler still hasn’t told John his big secret and John still hasn’t told Tyler his big secret. And then there’s the wedding, and let’s not forget about the pregnancy. Are you intrigued? Dig in and learn more. Where do you think our MC’s will go from here? Will there be a book 2? Let’s ask shall we? Mr. Harris, inquiring minds want to know, what do you have in store for our MC’s? If there is a book 2, will it be about Tyler and John? Or will it be about Tyler’s best friend Jeremiah? This book is a bit different from the ones we’ve seen in the past from the author. Both of our MC’s are not werewolves. I’m also glad to see the author has branched out into writing novels. I like this new direction. It tells me the author is growing and expanding. It isn’t hard to tell these characters hold a special place in the heart of the author. I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Okay! So this book was rife with potential. Harris’ book is brimming with talking points: the secret world of werewolves, the taboo of being a gay werewolf, being transgendered, being transgender and in a relationship, being in a relationship with someone who is transgender, destructive and abusive ex-lovers, scorned women, etc. etc. etc. There is so much material here, I was really looking forward to this story. Not necessarily that I was gearing up for a mind-blowing read, but hats off to anyone with enough gumption to put all that into a single book!
That said, there was a lot left to be desired in the execution of the book.
1) The setting is utterly forgettable and wildly convenient to whatever the MCs happened to have needed. John, for example, is able to live independently on the wages he earns as a barista. Maybe I’m just being too cynical, but who can afford to live on their own on minimum wage? And a stone’s throw away from this fictional town is a zoo where Tyler, sans credentials, snags a job tending the wolf exhibit. Bonus points for all this being conveniently close to wide-open spaces for Tyler to run around in werewolf form without any worries over being caught.
2) The angst is almost tit-for-tat. Both characters clearly have major secrets and they are the direct cause for all the angst in the book. While that’s neither here nor there, I disliked the unimaginative parceling out of said secrets. It feels as though they take turns putting each other through the emotional wringer when these secrets are revealed. Most bothersome is that the two doozies (for Tyler, it’s being a werewolf; for John, it’s being transgender) play out exactly the same, except that the “wronged party” is flip-flopped. Meaning that the set-up and reaction to the revelation of the second secret is exactly the same as the set-up and reaction to the first. To me, this shows a worrisome lack of emotional maturity on both characters’ parts.
OMG! I loved Trans Shift. I loved the storyline, and I fell in love with the characters. I love when a book can engage all of my emotions, and Mr. Harris managed to do it with this book. I laughed. I cried. I hated the bad people (Becky and Michael). I stressed out wondering how Tyler and John would react when their deep dark secrets came out. Trans Shift made my chest ache, and I cried at least three times, and I love being that emotionally invested in a book. I cheered when they got back together only to be pulled apart again. I wouldn’t have changed anything about this book. Thank you, Noah Harris, for another excellent book.
Tyler is an alpha werewolf that has to leave his family behind due to the pack not accepting gays and an alpha female werewolf, Becky, that won’t take no for an answer. John (Joanne) has also left everything behind. He is running from an ex-husband that was abusive, and he is also transgender. However to be true to himself he has to leave everybody in his past behind and start over as the new John. Tyler and John have been flirting at the coffee house that John works at, but it isn’t until they run into each other at a gay club that they start their relationship. And everything is going really well until Tyler’s stalker (Becky) shows up and causes all kinds of trouble including telling John’s ex-husband Michael where he is. This causes their deep dark secrets to come out, and they end up taking a break before getting back together only to have another secret be revealed that almost breaks them up for good. I loved the surprise from John at the end and although this book does conclude with a happy for now ending. I am hoping for another book to see what happens to them next. I received this free book in exchange for an honest review.
Like this but I am going to have to DNF it.... I read a lot of good reviews but I couldn't see what other people saw in this book... If I could make my vote count with zero stars I would.... Sorry I tried ....
Ok soo... *coughs* Well I'll just say it... this was some kind of bizarre fuckery with all kinds of problems. I seriously feel like I read a TOTALLY different book than everyone else who apparently loved it sooo much.
Right off the bat, I was like seriously?? a man bun?? on the big macho MC?? Almost hurt myself eye-rolling... Im really seriously 100% over the loong hair thing with male MCs lately, and the man bun was just stupid. Stupid... but forgivable.
K so anyway regarding the story... We have these two characters... Tyler *manbun* big sexy werewolf whose family/pack can't handle his gayness, were they to find out. He sneaks outta dodge to avoid a squicky alpha female nutcase that wants to chain him down and have his puppies. Basically. I'm paraphrasing here. So he travels far far away and starts over and meets.... drumroll... John. which I would have cared waaaaay less about if it was handled a LOT differently. Disclaimer time... I've read plenty of characters who are not mainstream, and in the right hands, the story can work really well. So the fact that one MC was trans was really a non issue. Or rather should have been a non issue. It really didn't even bother me that 's past had some squicky issues that had to be worked out between these two. What DID bother me... and actually almost made me toss the kindle and DNF at about 60%... was that somehow he just never got around to telling Tyler about it, despite some sneakily and creatively written sex scenes that allowed things to 'stay under wraps'.... but when Tyler has to spring his werewolfiness on John in a crisis situation, he pitches an epic goddamn snit fit and basically says you lied to me and took my choices away how dare you you selfish asshole like a hypocritical condescending little prick.
And THEN, Tyler loses his nuts somewhere and basically says "its ok baby your reaction was perfectly normal I forgive you." WHAT??! *pulls hair*
You guys. I was seriously losing my shit over this.
But wait... theres more!! Because to just crank the nonsensical crazy up a notch.... somehow Tyler's crazy-stalker-not-ex-girlfriend who's in town harassing them can apparently CLEARLY smell that John's bits aren't all biologically as they are claimed to be... but somehow Tyler just has no freaking clue?? Even though John has scars on his chest... which we are told early on are seen, touched, and noted by Tyler? How dumb is this guy?! So the big reveal, which happens at 71% people, goes like this: Oh, ok. John needs Tyler to understand... so obviously he'll understand. Just like John understood after Tyler transformed in front of him with as much warning as possible and then John lost his goddamn mind and didn't talk to Tyler for like... 2 weeks. Ok sure.
*crickets* ohhhhhhhh myyyyyy gaaaawwwdd. Just make the stupid stop, please!!
So then theres a lot of whining and flailing about how he trieeeed to tell him but Tyler was just so niiiice...
Ok so again... In RL, this would obviously be a VERY hard conversation to have, I would imagine. But. In this setting... this book... with this character... with this character's opportunities... I just wanted to slap the little brat. If nothing else, than for NOT understanding why he should have manned up and figured out a way to get that information out there, especially if he truly felt as betrayed as he claimed by Tyler's withheld information. And then this gets said... ... and my thought honestly was, "bro? In this case? I kinda get it. Actually, I think you're taking it rather well".
I just could not deal with all of this drama. And I especially was annoyed with it because part of the reason I enjoy MM so much is that it tends to be lower drama. So this nonsense? was just all kinds of idiotic and annoying. The GREAT MISUNDERSTANDINGS just kept piling up like a freakin log jam and I was wanting to buy these characters a Home Depot card so they could just build a bridge and get over it already!!
But at this point, we have 2 characters that I don't even really like that much... and who totally don't trust eachother... and who have zero communication skills... and who have pretty flat chemistry, honestly..... and a crazy psycho bitch female secondary character that just. would. not. go. away. So yeah.
So I skimmed through the rest of it because looking at it was making my retinas bleed at this point....
And basically thats the end, for me.
**Edit: hubby just came home and said, "Couldn't you have just said 'don't read it ever'?" He's got a point. ;) But I just committed a lot of time to this so... here it stays.
I feel like a total jerk rating things 1-star.... and this fell around a 1.5 for me.... so I'm rounding it up to a 2 just because of Tyler's abs.
**) .•.•*) .•*)Was he willing to trade one secret for another? (.• (.•`* I never know what to expect from a Noah Harris book...except that at the end I would like it or love it. I LOVED THIS BOOK. I hesitate on saying this was my first transgender book...I have read enough books to become a library unto myself, but I adored this one. What started of as general anticipation was like entering a whole new world and the paranormal aspect just heightened the senses.
Frightened of being disowned by the only pack he knew, but unable to stay because he was different, Tyler escaped to become the man he wanted to be. Plus, there was no way he could stay with one crazed Alpha Female stalking him to mate. Finding his way to a new town and a new job where no one knew him became his strength. Then John happened and life got a whole bit interesting.
Abused, broken and needing to be true to himself, John, formerly Joanne, found the courage to abandon his old life and move on. Working in a coffee shop, he thought he was happy until his attraction to Tyler threw him into a tailspin.
There was instant attraction from the moment they acknowledged that their flirting was more than that. I reveled in the relationship and how they were both timid but willing to take it slowly despite the dangerous flames burning. But once they got physical, all bets were off.
A truly interesting spin on the story. Both men hiding a secret and willing to honor the other by braving the madness they encountered. From Tyler's stalker, Becky, and her threats to John's husband and his madness, they was enough action to require popcorn and a towel. And then the surprise that always comes with a Noah story.
A true one clickable book that I highly encourage. It has earned a place in that small pile corner.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review so here goes! Noah Harris has done it again he's delivered on the title of the book and given us a fantastically different story. The characters in this book, well you either love them or you loathe them but as in every Noah Harris book they grab you and make you feel them. John and Tyler are written as amazingly strong characters both hiding a past out of fear of being rejected again, of being seen as different, of being pushed away. However their love for each other guides them to be who they are as they have always fought to be. Although this book has a fantastic end I hope Mr Harris will consider keeping us updated with John and Tyler as this book has made me laugh, cry, smile, worry and think. The transgender storyline is beautifully written and I feel a huge strength in John as well as a vulnerability which makes you want to protect him as his friends at the coffee shop do! If you have never read a Noah Harris book you'll love them! Mr Harris has a way of pulling his characters from the page and making the reader feel them! I say it every time I read a Noah Harris book, this is his best but trust me they are all his best! Finally I just need to say again Trans shift is a fantastic book that will make it impossible to put down. Buy it, read it you'll love it!! Well done Noah Harris!
Tyler's parents died when he was young. He was taken in by a pack and raised by the alpha and members of the pack. Tyler realizes he is gay, but knows that his pack will not accept it. When the Alpha's spoiled and vindictive daughter, Becky, puts Tyler in her sights as her mate simply because he is the only man who never panted after her he realizes it's time for him to leave the pack and make his way in the human world.
John was born Joanne. A woman who was married to an abusive husband, Michael. John has always felt he was a man. His mother helps him escape Michael and get the transition he wanted.
Tyler and John meet through John's work at the coffee shop. John's been crushing on Tyler for months, but isn't brave enough to ask him out. When they meet one night at a club their casual friendship expands to dating and both Becky and Michael come calling causing them stress and frustration in their relationship.
This was quite interesting being the first trans/shifter romance I've read. The storyline itself was a good one and I really cared for both Tyler and John, but there were a lot of holes in the story. It also jumped ahead in their relationship on several points thus missing out on important milestones in their relationship we as readers would have liked to see developed. Such as jumping from going on their first date to months later suddenly basically living together, etc.
Besides the jumping ahead in the story in several places I also had a serious issue with another aspect of the story. They waited 6 months before sleeping together because John was too afraid of how Tyler would react when he found out he wasn't born a man. So he tries to take advantage of Tyler's excitement when they finally do and hopes Tyler won't notice John is missing his manly bits. Hello?! No man is stupid enough to miss the fact that his boyfriend is missing a vital part of his anatomy not once during sex, but twice. It smacks of disrespect for their relationship in which John claims to love Tyler while trying to trick him during sex and what (gay or not) couple while having sex doesn't fully touch other? I was curious how the author would approach the trans part of the story in regards to sex between them. Apparently, he decided to ignore it and while the blurb for the book states the book is hot and steamy? That's a seriously over exaggerated claim. They have sex twice, and both times, it's over before you can blink. Not to mention, the author never states how John gets off. The last part I had a problem with was that the story blurb says that they've both been crushing on each other for months yet when they meet that night at the club Tyler doesn't even remember who John is.
I guess you have to decide if you as the reader are able to overlook those glaring issues to enjoy the book as a whole.
Huge admiration and respect are due to Noah Harris for being brave enough to tackle a subject few authors have the ability to do justice to. Noah is inspired to do it with sensitivity and honesty while still giving us an edge of the seat, tear jerking, romance. John (Joanne) and Tyler are perfectly and expertly crafted for this story and it’s easy to love and feel for both of them. John is a quiet, gentle, transgender man with such inner strength, gained from his emotional fight to be who he was intended to be and his abusive marriage as a woman. Tyler is a strong alpha werewolf who, by being gay, risks the alienation of the only ‘family’ he has ever known and who is stalked by the pack leaders daughter, who wants him as her mate and won’t take ‘No’ for an answer. Both John and Tyler find the inner strength to abandon their past lives in order to be true to themselves. When they find each other it’s a real joining of souls, but can either of them find it in themselves to share the deep secrets of their past with each other? For a while they are content and happy but of course the path of true love is never smooth so when John’s ex husband and Tyler’s stalker intervene to force the truth to come out, the pair are torn apart by their emotions, not once but twice! Their despair leaps off the page while their situation appears to be irreconcilable. Noah masterfully walks us through their journey of understanding and forgiveness to a surprising revelation and a climax which had my heart in my mouth. Although this is a standalone book the ending is a happy for now and I’d love to read about the next chapter in their lives. Note I received a free Advanced copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased and honest review.
when i saw this book i, a gay trans man, knew I had to read this just to see how much of a train wreck it would be, and god it was even worse than I was prepared for.
This book is defiantly one of a kind in my mind. I have never read a book like this book. I absolutely loved Trans Shift. This is one my favorite books that Noah has written. I read this book in one sitting, I could not put this book down and I didn’t want to either. What can I say without giving away too much information? You have Tyler (a werewolf) who leaves everything he knows. He leaves knowing that his pack will never accept him. That and well there is a girl (Becky) who can’t no for an answer. Then you have John who leaves everything he knows also. His reasons completely different. He is transgender and he’s running from his ex (who is abusive). After meeting at a club Tyler and John starts a relationship. Everything is going good well until Becky shows up and starts making some threats. Hmm. Yep. She causes all kinds of trouble including helping John’s ex find him. Will Tyler and John be able to overcome all of the obstacles that are in their way? Will they be able to accept each other’s secrets? Will Tyler and John choose each other? You will have to read to find out. You will not be disappointed reading this book! Trans Shift defiantly deserves 5 stars. If I could give more than that I would. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
This book was totally awesome, as soon as i got it i dropped everything so i can read it and i was not disappointed at all. Tyler and john's story was told so artfully and to be honest it gave me a little insight on a world i really couldn't understand. Cause i couldn't really wrap my head around how a man could feel trapped in a woman's boy and go about changing their boy to their preferred gender just to like men but after reading Trans Shift i can fully understand why. Tyler has to leave his pack cause he is gay and the pack doesn't take to kindly to gay men and he surely isn't going to stay and be married to a woman he cant stand. John was in a hopeless marriage pretending to be something he is not and when he had enough he decided to live his life the way he always wanted to. Fate has brought these two together their each other's first and although things can get messy their love prevailed. Love is such an amazing it can prevail over anything even the past you are afraid of. i really hope their is a part 2 to this story cause i wanna know how the relationship between Tyler and John keeps going strong, how John is handling the pregnancy and the gender of the baby. i received a free copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review
Well, Noah has done it again with this new release of "Trans Shift." Not only is this about a transgender male who is gay, but a werewolf who is gay. Both Tyler, a werewolf and John, the transgender male has deep secrets. John has gone on in life by escaping a violent jerk of a husband, but going on to changing his sexual identity. Tyler left his pack in the middle of the night because they couldn't accept gay people. With the alpha's daughter, Becky, persistently chasing him, he leaves all that he knows and strikes out on his own. The meeting of John and Tyler is full of their secrets that neither are willing to let go of, which causes them such grief and angst, pain and suffering. There is violence, treachery, jealousy, secrets, loyalty, romance, lust, hot gay sex, and love in this story. A must read for Noah's fans and those who will quickly become his fans. I was given this story free, in order to give an unbiased and honest review
This is a wonderful, interesting and intriguing book to read and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The story is about two men (Tyler, a werewolf and John, a human) and their journey to love and happiness. What you will find in the book is a gay werewolf (Tyler), a gay young man (John), a stalking female werewolf (Becky), a abusive ex-husband (Michael), a good werewolf friend (Jeremiah), stalking, threats, blackmail, disagreements, scent marked, secrets, a transgender, a pack wedding, courage, no wedding, a pregnancy, lust, emotional feeling, love and erotic scenes. I found the story-line and plot well thought out and written. The characters are well developed with emotional feelings of confusion, fear, courage and love. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a well written M/M transgender story with a HEA.
This story was a little different for me. Tyler is a werewolf and gay. Knowing his pack won't accept him he leaves. He meets John. Unbeknownst to him a transgender. Secrets, omissions and their pasts torment them and nearly destroy their future. Through the loyalty of true friends they are able to work out their relationship. The writing is good, as always. Somehow the characters didn't draw me in as some of the author's other books have though it had elements of suspense and excitement which definitely made it a good read in its own right. The story has a good HEA ending. I received a free copy of this book for an honest and unbiased review.
This is the most amazing book I have ever read from Noah. His narrative is superb and the storyline is so original. Noah just keeps getting better and better. Tyler is a gay werewolf in a pack where he would be disowned or worse if they ever found out. Joel is desperately unhappy. He wants to be male but he is trapped in a female body and caught up in an unhappy marriage. They both have so much baggage that it is hard to believe that they will ever have a long lasting relationship. The story made me quite tearful at times. For a book to move me like that it has to be good! This is one for your keeper shelf.
I received a free ARC in return for an honest review.
Tyler and John are both hiding an integral part of themselves from everyone. As they get closer to each other, finding the right moment to let the other know their secrets is quite difficult and is often interrupted. Each reveal is heartbreaking and devastates the other. Coming to terms with these secrets is further hindered by people from their pasts, ones they thought they left far behind never to return. I was unable to put this book down, hoping they could continue their relationship despite all the difficulties surrounding them.

Life has a way of unfolding in mysteries ways. Secrets have a way to both destroy or build up life's interesting twists and turns. Trans Shift is such a story. Although it's fantasy it is also a story of trust, lies and deceit and discovery of what life is. Transgender Romance is a mystery to many and has many insights in it. This story explores one of them. As the story unfolds ones awareness of the world we live in and the lives we lead are brought to new heights of compassion and understanding.
John is secretly a trans male that is crushing on Tyler who is secretly a werewolf. I enjoyed how they finally started dating and how perfect they are together. What I found unbelievable is that Tyler can't see with his own eyes that John has female plumbing. I could see it happening at the beginning but not after they move in together. Of course the exes have to put their two cents in as well. That caused some pretty interesting things to light in a very villainous way. My emotions were all over the place in this story.
I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review. Mr. Harris has truly outdone himself this time. As this was the first trans book I had ever read I was a little unsure about what to expect, but it totally blew my mind. The story of Tyler and John is so electrifying. They are so well written that you can't help but feel their emotions and passions. I highly recommend this novel you will not be disappointed.
I was given this story free for a fair and honest review. This was a wonderfully written book that has a werewolve and a trans gender male in love. Their love story was brilliantly written. The friends these two main characters have had their backs in all things. Yes there was an evil element (Becky) that I was hoping someone would slap..really hard. Despite that not happening, I was delighted with this story. So so good! I highly recommend this book! Well done Mr. Harris!!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. Noah Harris is an exceptional writer. He writes with compassion, respect and amazing insight. Tyler and John overcome great obstacles to be together. You love the heroes and hate the villains. Another win for the good guys. Grab this book, you won't be disappointed.
Purchased and read this author in the past and have enjoyed the quality of the writing as well as the stories themselves. Clear your schedule... you won't want to put this one down. Harris has another beautifully told romance here. The two main characters hit a few bumps and.... not spoiling! Touching, heartwarming romance! Thumbs up!
