Kinley Kennedy is running away from life and so end up with a job teaching a little girl on a remote island. When she arrives in a little run down town to catch her sea plane to the island the last thing she expected was a man dripping with sex appeal and good looks. The feeling is mutual with Dax towards Kinley and so the chemistry is sizzling hot. All is not well though as there are secrets involved, Dax knows why Kinley has been hired on the Island but lets her find out in her own time. Both are hiding things and it can all go quickly downhill. Dax has a lot of women chasing him so can they overcome secrets and can he commit to one girl? You will just have to read to find out!

I love a good book from Tess Oliver, they are always dripping with sex appeal and hook the reader in. This book is no different, it's fast paced, sweet and sexy all rolled into one. My only little teeny weeny gripe was that I think it could have been strung out a little bit more as I felt we needed to read more on Dax and his situation. Overall though I have been left satisfied and although I know this is a standalone, I would have loved to seen a HEA for one of the side characters Marcus.

Sweet Talkin' Scoundrel is oh so sexy

Tess Oliver has done it again. Sweet Talkin' Scoundrel is sexy and funny read. Sweet Talkin Scoundrel is about Kinley aka Rabbit a beautiful woman who has taking a job as teacher for a young girl named on a island off King's Beach. Dax is the H of the story is a sexy tattooed beast who happens to be the pilot that will be taking Kinley from mainland to island. Well its not love at first site for these two stubborn characters but their relationship will become so much more. Dax is a walking dream and Tess picked the perfect cover to go with this story. I just wished we got more of Dax. He has been picked as my book boyfriend of November.
Tess gives us a fun soulful read. I absolutely enjoyed Sweet Talkin Scoundrel. I highly recommend this story!!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book! Happy Reading.

This was one of the cool books! Loved how independent, world renown, and even though she has some insecurities she is still a brave strong woman, even if her nickname is rabbit! Now Dax even with his sweet talking ladies man ways is a good soul and you can feel it from the start. Fun book, nice that the great soul of the heroine of this book can get through even to the iciest of hearts and bring around some change even if just a little. Take flight on this great adventure into another world that Tess weaves for us! Due to adult situations 18+ recommended, but if you are looking for a fun, quick read that you will enjoy then pick up this book.

Fast read with great characters. I think it would of been a five star if it was a bit longer. It seemed a little insta-love because of the length.

Having a really interesting premise and great scenery with great characters makes this a good fast read. The cover model seems so Dax (James).

Another far-fetched story by this author, with an interesting idea, but a less than stellar execution. I liked Dax a lot (I also have a sweet tooth, you know), and the setting and characters would have made for something mysterious and thrilling, but it did not happen, unfortunately. The characters remain a bit blurred - there is hardly any detailed description of how they actually look like, and I just can't picture them in my mind. The author's style of writing is not bad as such, but it is rather "neutral" and slightly unemotional - she just does not captivate me. There is no real passion ("fuck, yeah!" does not count!), and the end is always anticlimactic and rushed. This was most probably the last of her books I have read ...

Tess is one of my favorite because she writes to soothe the heart while making it beat rapidly with sexy love scenes. Sweet talker Dax takes sweet looking Kinley to her new job in a private island. She will be tutor to smart and full of life Becky, but her mother Katherine and brother Marcus are totally different. Cold and distant. She doesn't want to be so attracted to Dax but how can she resist him! It's an amazing story with suspense, twists, jokes and lots of romance. Great characters.

Kinley is leaving behind a secret and running far and fast.. but what is she running to?

I LOVED that this book had suspense, with chills of darkness, and a plot twist I didn't see coming.
In this tangled story of you'll meet a pilot, ateacher, and an eerie Mother who seems capable of just about anything, a sweet girl, and a son too distraught by germs to be dangerous right?

Dax & Rabbit's story was the perfect amount of anticipation while catapulting you forward.

Sweet Talkin' Scoundrel really makes the title blind your mind. the cover included I thought its the story about typical tattooed troubled guy met a good girl in the city and there's fight and such.. It is totally different. I think i read a historical romance but it is actually a modern day people!. Only limited people that involve in this book and there is a mystery *not so* behind it all. I liked it for a light reading. Thank god the story didn't drag at all. Just nice.

I Love your books!

Tests Oliver I absolutely love your books! Not only are the covers eye candy, but they promise everything and more to read. I love how all your stories are so realistic. I can read and it feels so real. Kinsley was in a interesting predicament and Dax was every girl's dream! That is if a hot guy covered in tattoos is your dream! Thank you for the wonderful reads. Now time to read some more of your books!

It was a cute story. The ending seemed a little rushed and the part with her trying to leave was stupid but over all I liked it. Dax is adorable, I liked the part where they were talking on the radio

Tess Oliver has done it again with her newest book, Sweet Talkin' Scoundrel! This book takes place on an island off the Coast, and the only way to get to it is by airplane. The main characters Kinley Kennedy, is a young woman who is beautiful and bright, and she has taken a job to be a tutor for an 11 year old little girl named Becky who lives there with her older brother, Marcus and her mother, Katherine. Becky's Dad died when she was very young.

Being brought to the island for the first time, she is taken there by a dilapidated plane being piloted by a very handsome-movie star handsome young man named Dax, and she can tell he is a scoundrel right away, but she is instantly attracted to him. Dax sees Kinley and he is enchanted by her.

Unfortunately what seemed like the perfect job for Kinley starts turning suspicious after just a few days. It seems she was not informed of the real reason she has been brought to the island. The brother of Becky, Marcus, has a real obsession of germs and has plastic covering everything he touches and uses. He has not left the island for five years, because he is afraid! The mother Katherine is a stiff lipped unfriendly woman of few words who absolutely hates the pilot Dax. She makes no secret of it at all. Kinley does not understand all the undercurrents running through everyone and how the atmosphere can change on a dime. One thing is for sure however and that is that Dax is keeping secrets from Kinley and she is keeping secrets as well of her own! Actually they are all keeping secrets from each other except for Becky who loves to talk!

Things come to a head and there are a few really good twists to the plot that will keep you guessing just what in the world is going on! Can the attraction between Dax and Kinley that has started developing go anywhere? What is the real reason she was brought to the island? Will Becky lose a tutor she has come to love in such a short time? Will Marcus ever get over his phobia? Will Katherine ever smile again?

You will have to read this book and see! It is a very enjoyable little puzzle, but one thing is for sure-since it was written by Tess Oliver, a few things are always true of her awesome books-there is a great male alpha character, and a beautiful woman, great intimate scenes we all love to read and a pretty guaranteed happy ending that makes all of her books hard to resist. This plot was hard to figure out-wait until you do!

I gave this book a rating of 5*****perfect stars, and can't wait until Tess Oliver's next book comes out. Happy Reading~!

This was my first Tess Oliver book and it won’t be my last! I love her writing!!! It captures my full attention and holds on to it page after page. I also really love that she writes a strong female main character and her heroes have that bad boy edge, but underneath are genuine good guys. I will definitely be back for more Tess Oliver stories.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Holy cow! I just loved this book. Tess Oliver has really outdone herself with her new book “Sweet Talkin’ Scoundrel. I will do my best to review this without giving anything away because you truly have to experience this for yourself.

This is a story about Kinley, AKA Rabbit, who, due to her parents, has spent her life traveling the world. She has returned to the states, but after her relationship with a horrible boyfriend goes south, she retaliates and goes into hiding by getting a tutoring job on a private island. Then there is Dax, who is a pilot/mechanic/sweet talker, who pilots the airplane (and I use that word loosely) between the island where Kinley is staying and the mainland. From head to toe to all his scrumptious tattoos, he is every woman’s definition of HOT, dirty and sexy. He is a total sweet talker and there is no shortage of women on the mainland that are suffering from a good ole sweet tooth. Dax does not do relationships, but after spending time with Kinley on her first flight over to the island, he decides there is something different about her and he needs to spend more time with her to figure out what this is. On the island are the mother, adult son, and young daughter (who Kinley will be tutoring). The owner and son hate Dax, and Dax hates that Kinley is on the island because there is more going on and plans being hatched than she is aware of. That is all I am saying, other than Sweet Talkin’ Scoundrel is a fantastic book that grabs you from page one and doesn’t let you go until the very end. I love the way Tess Oliver develops her characters. This book has it all; smart, brave girl; sexy as hell hero, love, mystery and suspense, crazy family, and let’s not forget the sinfully delicious sex scenes. It is one surprise or revelation after another. This truly is a must-read, you will not be disappointed. Thank you, Tess Oliver, for another brilliant hit. Cannot wait to see what is in store for us next.

Favorite Quotes:
- I wasn't sure what it was about her laugh, but it wasn't like any other I'd ever heard. It was like a damn elixir, a tonic to wash away anything ugly in the world, leaving behind only the cool stuff, the stuff that kept you putting your feet on the floor in the morning.
- "I was just pondering-is it love at first sight if it happens every time I see the girl?"
- I'd leaned against Tero to watch her walk toward me and all I could think was that Kinley was one of those people you wanted in your life. She was one of those people who could make your life richer and more meaningful just by having her near. It might have been the way she carried herself with a sort of spunky grace, like an ice skater with an attitude. Or it might have been the way she seemed to always be smiling to herself as if she knew things, great things about the world that no one else knew. Or it might just have been her big blue eyes that could make you forget your fucking name.
- Dax leaned forward and kissed my nose as it started to twitch. "I love the way this nose wiggles. I love the way you make me laugh. I love the way you find good in everybody." He leaned his head to the side and glanced down at my body. "I love the way your ass looks in jeans."

My eyes smiled through my tears.

He shrugged. "Just keeping things honest." He took hold of my face and kissed me lightly on the lips. "Mostly, I love the way you walked into my life. You're making me rethink my whole philosophy. All this time, I was convinced I was happy. I had everything I needed, a business, my own place, time to surf and-"

He stopped at the last part of the list.

"And women?" I finished for him.

"Yes, but not the right woman. Now she's here, and she turned the whole fucking list upside down."

I Was Provided A ARC By The Author
(Possible Spoilers)

Kinley Kennedy has run to King's Beach looking to have a fresh start. When Kinley needs a ride to her new job, she couldn't imagine the man who would be taking her to the private Wildthorne island that holds The Underwoods manor. Kinley meets him in a dingy bar covered in blood, and she's not sure she can trust him to fly his creaky plane, that has seen better days, over the ocean and land her safely at doors to her new start.

Kinley is introduced to the Underwoods world, where she discovers, a strict, polished and quirky bunch of characters. Kinley will soon discover the motives of her being hired as a tutor, may not be what they seem. She is also being pulled in the direction of Dax, he's a Sweet Talkin Scoundrel, who's capturing her heart, one smirk at a time. His dislike for the Underwoods, is a mystery to her, and makes her question the past that surrounds the manor and this family.

Sweet Talkin Scoundrel is another must read by Tess Oliver. She brought the sexy, the mystery, and of course the romance. I loved these characters, the fog filled setting of the Wildthorne island, the family drama, the secrets, it all ties together and gives us one very intriguing story. Dax & Kinley are another book couple from Tess Oliver that I just love. Great storytelling, compelling and lovable characters and one swoon-worthy romance.

Sweet Talkin' Scoundrel is about Kinley & Dax.

We meet Kinley upon her arrival to King's Beach. She's there to catch a flight to a remote island for her new job. Upon arriving at Lottie's Bar, where she's been told the "airline office" is, she's arrived to a thunderous roar from the crowd inside. Turns out, it's Fist Fight Friday, and she's right in the middle of the fight. She finds Lottie, who tells her the winner of the fight is Dax, the person who runs the airline she's looking for.

Dax knows who Kinley is, where she's going, and why - she's the latest tutor that's been hired to stay at Wildthorne Island and help take care of Becky Underwood. On their drive to the airfield, Dax asks Kinley what she knows about her job and who hired her. It's obvious from his tone & his questions that he doesn't like the Underwoods (except Becky) and he also teases her mercilessly.

Both Kinley & Dax are very attracted to each other right away, but Kinley has her reason for holding back her heart, and Dax has his, too. I don't give spoilers, so that's as much of the story as I'll give. This was another great romance from Tess Oliver. It had it all: sweet romance, hot sex scenes, funny moments, sad moments, even some intrigue. Get your copy and find out what happens with Kinley & Dax!

She is a master of descriptive writing - her thunderstorms are so realistic you practically feel the vibrations of thunder, I can get lost in her stories just feeling along with them. This one is no exception. The prim and proper teacher lady falling for the black sheep of the family, the weird psycho-like atmosphere in the family manor on the island.... there are a lot of really great cinema-esque scenes along the way. Inside-your-head-movie-theatre, what I call it. The sexy bits were a bit ...well, I can´t find the right words, but it felt a bit more ...standard..compared to her otherwise unique way of writing her stories. And the plot was a bit thin (sorry I shouldn´t compare it to her Custom Culture series , if you can spread your story over many books you can add more layers than in a single book)- sorry if I expected more to happen, I think it was my first standalone book by Tess Oliver after I read through her wonderful Custom Culture series. So, all in all it wasn´t quite a five-star book, but close.

Tess Oliver is a rock star! From start to finish what an amazingly unique and intriguing story line. It is always nice to read such a different kind of storyline.
Kinley is a young woman that needs to get out of town fast. She gets a job on an island that she is hoping will be a new start. To get on this island she needs to find Dax who is the one person who she can charter a flight to the island. Dax and Kinley have a lot of chemistry. Dax makes comments about the family she is about to go work for. These remarks make her wonder what she is getting herself into. There is so much to both Kinley and Dax’s back story that makes this book very deep and emotional, at the same time Tess does a fantastic job keeping them fun and likeable. I read this story in one night, because I could not put it down. I have no doubt you will love this one too!

Tess Oliver brings you a delightful new stand alone novel. Kinley is headed to a small island in the middle of no where to become a tutor and hide away from the mistakes she's made in her life. She looking to start over and certainly not looking for a new relationship to cloud her already muddy view of things. Dax is a sweet talkin' scoundrel, clearly every woman's favorite little treat and the last thing Kinley needs in her life. Fate is funny though and her new job is going to force her into his space over and over again until she can't think of anything but him. Is it love or is she just a pawn in a game. As she learns more about her new job, she can't help but wonder what's really going on.
Fun read, great characters. I adore Dax!

Kinley accepted a teaching job on a small private island to get away from her past. Dax is living the simple life on King's Beach, shuttling passengers on his small aircraft. I so very much enjoy the writing and wording by Author Tess Oliver. The first chapter had me laughing out loud at the initial meeting of Kinley and Dax. As Kinley is trying to learn and understand the Underwoods that live on Wildthorne Island, but deny her attraction to Dax, I'm trying to figure out how the circumstances are going to work out so that all are happy in the end. I didn't figure out an ending, but Author Oliver made it interesting!
