Is a man worth losing everything I’ve ever worked for?

Lawson Heywood is a cocky, dirty-talking prick with enough money to buy a small country. And a man who’s used to getting any woman he wants.

I drew him a picture.

He was so impressed, he cornered me and kissed me. My first real kiss.

With his tattoos, broad shoulders and panty-dropping brown eyes, I thought I'd melt into his arms forever.

Except I can't get involved with him. It would make me a sell out and ruin my art career once and for all.

Lawson keeps threatening to make me his, but that's never going to happen. No matter how much my body craves him.

*** A steamy STANDALONE contemporary romance with a hot, dominant alpha. No cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after.***

It was all nice. The characters, the writing and the story.

You know the story girl meets boy, light amount of drama, they have sex, they fight, they make up and then live HEA!! Yep it was one of those sweetly sweet stories.

 photo cutepussies_zps3bpaing0.gif

Do not take this as a negative because it is not. These books have a place and some people love to read them all the time, for me I need more in a story than just nice.

The H in this was hot, rich and tattooed, as the title implied he was well hung (of course)
 photo wellhung_zpskmfts6w2.jpg

The h was a struggling artist who is against the 1% of society, so of course this makes it a little difficult when she falls for a billionaire.

So I think its just another case of......................

This is a sweet cute little read. Skye is an amazingly talented artist but like so many others she's struggling to get a break. She's lucky that Ava sees her talent and believes in her and lets her live rent free but Skye is determined to pay her way.
She works in as a waitress on busy weekends in Johnny's Roadhouse which is where is meets Lawson. Now Lawson is sick of gold diggers and after being set up on another blind date by his sister he decides to forego the yacht party and have his date in Johnny's much to annoyance of his dressed to the nines date for the evening.
Skye is struck temporarily dumb when she first lays eyes on Lawson and Lawson can't get Skye off his mind.
Boy likes girl/girl likes boy, the end?
Not quite.
Lawson is a self made billionaire and he's proud of all he's accomplished and rightly so but Skye is anti-rich and feels passionately about the plight of the ninety nine percent, her work always takes a hard stance against the one percent you just have to look for it. So when you throw in an inept slimy creep called Kelso and the huge chip on Skye's shoulder you get problems.
So like I said this is a sweet read, bits I felt were a little OTT at times I mean seriously if Kelso's like that I'm surprised he ever managed to make a dime let alone build hotels but all in all it's a nice easy read.

I was dumb enough to read skim it again. I have new comments though...

First attempt:

DNF.

Did you read the blurb? I did, so I was expecting something very different from the h and what I got disappointed me.

The h is painter living for free in her ex-teacher's house, who is trying to remortgage her house because the h is not producing money to help out. The h works some shifts as waitress and meets the H at the dinner.

The blurb says:
"Except I can't get involved with him. It would make me a sell out and ruin my art career once and for all.
Lawson keeps threatening to make me his, but that's never going to happen. No matter how much my body craves him."

Meaning is more important for her to help Ava, who practically has been providing a roof and food for her even though they're not related than to satisfy her lust, right? That's what I understood in the blurb, that she was going to fight her attraction to him so she can keep her job but apparently I'm too dumb because the book says:
"My mind keeps flipping between that guy kissing me, and Kevin sending me home straight after. My first real kiss, and holy shit was it amazing. But it's cost me big money in tips since the restaurant was busy.
Kevin said that was my last chance. I can't afford to be out on my ass. But if that man comes in again and tries to kiss me, there's no way I'll stop him. No matter how much I need the money from the restaurant. His kiss just felt too damn good."

So much for resisting the H in order to keep her income to help Ava.
And then she remembers she has the $300 the H gave her to cover his bill and a large tip. And as far as I read she doesn't give her boss the bill money.

So no thank you.

New comments:

Actually her first concern is her career, the second is helping the woman who has been financially and emotionally supporting her, both things are in jeopardy because of her lust for him... and she doesn't care. I loathe that kind of irresponsible people.
The rest of the story with the pig ex-business-partner is just something I won't get into just because I'm lazy and there are no positive comments.

I received an ARC for an honest review.
Ohhhh what an awesome and cute story !
Iv'e read other books of this awesome author and the written is getting much better every single time.
This story was intriguing from the beginning till the end, and I cherished very much.
It was an intense story, with a lot of passion and romantic stuff (which i love).

The heroine is very anti-rich people for good reasons but sometimes I found that she was just being a bit childish and too judging. Not every rich guys are self-conscious and selfish BUT she did manage to let her guards down for the hero.
Dammn the hero was a tattooed guy (+11111111 hehehe). If the hero is tattooed, i love it but if you add muscular body with it, i love it even more.

The overall story was good, interesting and cute. It was much better than the other books. I felt more compelled to the characters and i felt the love and chemistry too.
The only thing that is missing is maybe a bit more description about the characters and a longer epilogue ;) I found that the beauty of books is the ending, and how the epilogue is written.

I recommend the books to everyone ! :)

~4,25~ stars from me!!

What a sweet and enjoyable story, like a modern fairytale!! What happens when an ambitious young artist who's not a fan of rich people and a successful rich man who's been bored by all the women who want him only for his money find each other?? Well of course fireworks cause they want each other... really the hot tension and the sparkles could burn the pages.. now you're wondering how she'll react to the news that he is a rich.. well you have to read it in order to learn that.

Overall this story was really fun to read, it is fast pace plot with very lovable characters, enjoyable dialogues, hot/steamy scenes what's not to love about it?? I totally recommend it and i'm looking forward to read the next story the author will create!!

Hung is the story of Skye, a struggling artist and waitress. She has a strong message she portrays in her art and is adamant in portraying the inequalities of the 99%. On a typical Saturday night, she meets a beautiful stranger that she leaves a quick piece of art.
Mesmerized by both the beauty of the girl and her skill, Lawson stops at nothing to get to know the girl with the insane talent. There is only one problem, he is the type of person she loves to hate.
This is the third book I've read by Ms. Sowood and I must say that although I enjoyed the other two, I enjoyed this one, so far, the most. In this book, she had changed her writing style a bit and I must say, it definitely is a welcome improvement. I was already sucked in by the story line, but the research and depth into all the characters made me feel like I got into the head of them all.
If you are a lover of art, you will enjoy this lighthearted story.

I was gifted an ARC for an honest review.

First off, this was a sizzling hot read, and the chemisty between the characters was spot on. This was my first time reading this author. Very impressive and will be added to my regular reads list.

Skye, an artist against the rich. She portrays her dislike of the wealthy on her blank canvases.

Lawson, meets Skye at her side job, waiting tables while waiting to be discovered. Their first meeting is filled with good humor and Lawson is intrigued by the spitfire who just prounced into his life.

This book is insta-love at its finest, and actually believable.

This is a book you won't want to pass up if you enjoy a good alpha insta-love story.

The dirty talk from that comes out of Lawson is pretty hot.
Skye is an upcoming artist and is trying to prove to herself that she can do it on her own. The one thing she despises is rich folks she thinks since they have money they have much power. She meets Lawson when he comes into her job at a restaurant with a rich girl that you can clearly see she doesn't belong there. Lawson and Skye chemistry start when she draws a picture of his date as a dragon. After these two see each other more each day getting close she soon finds out that he is rich and she feels deceived but when Lawson tries to show her that he worked hard to get where he is she still doesn't get it. Also Skye happens to be working for and enemy of Lawson and tries to convince her it isn't a good idea. This book does end in a HEA

Skye was great at the beginning but then she started to really put it on thick for the rich and even though Lawson tried t show her he wasn't like the rest of them it all came back with her whining about it but in the end she did redeem herself.

I have been a member of Ms. Sowood's ARC team since her first novel, and although I haven't read every one of her novels, I can say without a doubt that this is by far my favorite. After reading her rookie novel, I knew she would improve with each one. She hasn't let me down.

Skye is an artist. Lawson is a billionaire hotel owner. They meet by chance and develop a relationship, not without some obstacles thrown in their way. It is an interesting twist on the billionaire bad boy and the virgin trope that exists. This one was rather light hearted and refreshing.

And the sex? H-O-T! Nice to see a relatively new author who knows her way around a sex scene.

I look forward to reading more by this author and am honored to be part of her ARC team.

Insta love story that was believable. Skye was innocent but not afraid to stand up for herself and what she believed in. Lawson was an Alpha with a caring side and was not OTT. A great story and a lovely epilogue sigh.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this book so trying to put that into words is a little hard lol. The heroine (Skye) is a struggling artists who has strong opinions about the rich. The hero (Lawson) is a tattooed dominant alpha male billionaire.

Skye kind of started to get on my nerves with the whole he's rich so I cant possibly love him even though he pretty much proved himself not to be the completely typical rich prick over and over again. The repetitiveness really annoyed me.

it was also really predictable and at times had me rolling my eyes I will say it was a little steamy which I like but it was over the top. It was also a quick read coming in at under 200 pages. I enjoyed it but I didn't love it.

Good read

This was a good story. It was enjoyable with interesting characters. I liked the authors writing style. I recommend it for an afternoon read.
March 8, 2018

From the first book that I read by this author I was hooked to her writing style. So when offered the newest release in the “Bad Boy Billionaire” series by Simone Sowood for review, there was no question that I would want to read it.

I have to admit that “Hung” left me a little divided in my opinion. While I really loved Lawson and his character was fully and deeply developed. I did have some slight problems with Skye.

She changed her mind and her opinion about Lawson faster than other people change there clothing. In fact – what was meant as a kind of joke… she actually really DID base her opinion on him wearing a suit or jeans.

Which would have been OK if it had remained a joke but I had trouble following her line of thinking which was giving me a whiplash at times. As Lawson always steadily did his thing and Skye liked it at one point to hate it in the next minute and followed that by not being sure if she loved or hated it.

I get the confusion when your believes are shaken in the foundation but I think she was a little to undecided and I would have liked it honestly if Lawson at one point had made his point clear more “aggressive” after all he was supposed to be a “BAD Boy” – if you know what I mean.

But still it was a great story and my complains are high level ramblings of a devoted reader so no worries if you think this blurb might be interesting to you – go ahead – especially if you have read previous books by this author you will not be disappointed by this one.

Enjoy.

Ok story.

Decent read. I thoroughly enjoyed the hero. He was snarky, domineering, sexy, and vulnerable.
But the heroine came off as a stupid bitch. Constantly going on about the one percent, she was giving them the same lack of consideration that she was accusing the hero (a one percenter) of giving anyone else. Combined with the obvious things she was missing (like just why the hero wanted her to leave the creeps house), I really didn't like her.
Other wise decent read, but beware, lots of sex scenes so if you don't like that don't read.

This is 2nd book I have read by this author and I enjoyed it more than the 1st. Our H is Lawson and our h is Skye.

Skye is a struggling new artist and works as a waitress also. She puts strong messages about the inequalities of the 99%. She detest rich people. While working at Johnny's Roadhouse one night she sees a good looking tattooed guy on a date with a woman who is definitely not dressed to eat there. Skye draws the man a picture of his date that night and he leaves. She is attracted to him but figures she won't see him again.

Lawson meets Skye at Johnny's Roadhouse while on a blind date that his sister set up. He was not impressed when he met the woman and took her to Johnny's Roadhouse out of spite. While not enjoying his time with her, he is attracted to his waitress, Skye.

While Skye and Lawson are attracted to each other Skye holds nothing back about his dislike of those that are rich. Lawson is rich and decides to keep the extent to himself. The pull for Lawson to Skye ends up with him ready to stake his claim after one night. Skye has been commissioned by a rich man to paint pictures for rooms of his house. This man is an ex-business partner for Lawson and someone he definitely doesn't want around Skye. He buys her paintings and hangs them in his hotels. Skye soon starts having people wanting to buy her paintings. Lawson has offered to help her many times but she furiously refuses. Instead wanting to do everything on her own. When things go south with the rich man she is painting for and Lawson cost her the job, she is furious. Until she sees the extent that Lawson has gone to help her succeed.

I really enjoyed Lawson. He was loaded but he had a charity that was close to his heart. While he was a filthy talking alpha man, he was also sweet. Skye I tolerated, barely. Her constant complaints about rich people irritated me. She had an inheritance from her grandmother but she looked down on Lawson because he was rich. At least he built himself to that from a high school drop out. Lawson really made the story for me. I enjoyed this book and will definitely look for me.

Well, this wasn't quite what I had expected, but that isn't to say it was a bad read. Lawson, a self made billionaire and Skye, a struggling artist seem to be complete opposites. She fights against the 99% rich, and after finding out that Lawson is a part of that she wants nothing to do with him. But it's to late for that since she has already fallen hard. This is just a taste of this bad boy story. There are quite a few more twists to keep you turning the page and I don't believe in spoiling the show. It is full of heat that gets turned up, and language not appropriate for those under 18.

I received this as an ARC free read for an honest review. If I could tell you more I still wouldn't since you need to read for yourself. Enjoy!

This is my first book that I have read by Simone and with a cover and a title like that, how could you not be drawn to it!! I was hooked from the beginning. Loved the whole concept of this book. It was hot, sexy and checked all my buttons. Yes, there were times that I wanted to reach in the book and shake the shit of Skye!! You have Lawson, that has more wealth than even he knows what to do with, set eyes on Skye, that is trying to make it in the art world. Skye hates rich people and Lawson doesn't know how to act about someone wanting him for him and not his money. Fast paced and will keep you turning the pages!! Great Job!!!!

She's sassy with a innocence to her that holds you captive and you feel like she could be your new best friend. That's how I would describe the amazing artist Skye in this book. She blows Lawson away and he can't believe he's so hung on her. He feels her pull and it's hot as heck chemistry every time they get alone or not. Lawson is a billionaire and everything Skye stands against. She talks herself into the first date and is completely smitten. Until she lets her insecurities get in the way. It's an amazing love story and you can't out it down!

This is the story of struggling artist / waitress, Skye, who meets alpha, caring, Lawson when he brings his rich date to the restaurant. This storyline is humorous, super sexy, hot chemistry, with added angst in the mix.
Simone has outdone herself in writing this story, and as I love all of her books already, this is my favourite so far! I highly recommend all of Simone’s work, as it intrigues and captivated from the very beginning. Cannot wait to read what she brings to us next.

I loved the story, I loved the writing, I loved the characters, even though at one point, I wished I could jump in the book and give Skye a wake up slap to the head. There is a spark between Lawson and Skye from the moment they meet that just burns brighter and brighter as the story progresses. Skye is a feisty heroine and Lawson is a hot as heck alpha hero. This is a fun, sexy romance with steamy love scenes. I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review and I loved it!

Refreshing take on a bad boy story. Very steamy and lots of emotion. Both characters were great, the female lead for incredibly naive but suspicious at the same time. Our bad boy was guarded but went with his feelings. Great novel, I lucked out, being offered the chance to read Hung in exchange for a fair review.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It is one of the best books I've read this year. Hung had everything I love in a bad boy billionaire romance book... angst, sizzling-hot chemistry, forgiveness, panty-melting sex, swoon worthy moments, a great plot-line that kept me wanting to read more, humor, love, and a HEA.

Skye rejects privileged and rich people because of their power and indifference to the poorer people.
Lawson is a billionaire and not at all what Skye believes to know about the rich. He has a hard time to prove himself to her…

This is one hell of a story. Fast paced, intense, emotional, thrilling, heart wrenching… you name it!
A real page turner!

The story was really good.
I didn't like how Skye acted though. Her beliefs and the way she treated Lawson was super judgmental all because he had money, not because of his personality or who he was as a person.
She hates rich people and judged Lawson but Lawson asked her what she was doing to help those in need, she wasn't doing anything except bitching about the 1% even after Lawson showed her everything he does for those in need and told his own story. She didn't see how hard he worked to get where he was. He asked her if she would work for free to give her money to those in need and she said no, so she just bitched about those with money because she didn't have money. That's how it felt.

Now that she is making money off her paintings it didn't mention what she was doing with all that money. You think after a whole book of her criticizing rich people, the author would've added in there how she started her own charity OR how she is helping the 99% but it wasn't mentioned, like her own judgmental biases and rules doesn't apply to her. I understand her belief and having a problem with the 1% for whatever, but judging Lawson because of his money was dumb.

Other than that, I found the book to be enjoyable. Lawson worked hard to protect her and keep her, and everyone loves a man that worships the woman he has. The spicy scenes were hottt as well.

I’m a massive fan of billionaire books where one of the people in the relationship doesn’t know at first that the other is a billionaire.
Lawson is that billionaire but Skye, who is a waitress and is a struggling artist, is the woman that captures his heart. He waltzes into her workplace with a very put together date that looks so out of place in the rundown diner. Lawson wears enough to fit in and it doesn’t take long for Skye to notice him.
Lawson doesn’t want to tell Skye about who he is because he is sick of having women throwing themselves at him just for his money. The chemistry is electric from the start and they have so much in common even though their lives are so different. Skye has an opinion about rich folk and Lawson seems to want to prove that they aren’t always the same.
I really enjoyed it and it was another book that kept me hooked.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Larson and Skye were an unlikely couple. She wasn't fond of wealthy people because she struggled for everything she had.
Larson was a self made billionaire who was sexy tattooed and humble. There was a lot of steamy hot scenes that keep you paging fast. He didn't start with anything but his sisters love and trust. I loved this book. I wish the sisters would've had more interaction in the book. It was still a great read.
Skye was a strong woman when she painted but, she didn't have much self confidence when it came to relationships. Grab your copy for a hot alpha billionaire.
