Luffy and co make their way towards Whole cake island and meet the princess who sanji is gonna be married too and then there is the thing with Sanji and he battles his father and we see how terrible his childhood was and how he is being forced to marry meanwhile we get a glimpse of the weird antiques of Big Mum and its insanely well done. Next up Luffy and co in the wandering forests and where they are lost like a maze and facing off against Brulee (Mirror Powers) and Cracker, both Big Moms children and their power is insane. Luffy and co will have to find ways to survive as we learn more of the island. Good arc and serves as a nice introduction.

2. his brother yonji and his sister reiju T_T the eyebrow T_T why must it be in the same direction T_T (so, reiju, ichiju, niji and yonji all have eyebrows that curl to the right. sanji is the only one whose eyebrows curl to the left)

i've been watching the anime, but being forced to wait a week for each episode is just so haaaard, mama need some Luffy ^ ^
actually it's not long since i got to the ongoing episodes and for someone who spent so much time using every chance to watch one piece i'm going through a hard time :'/

Muy buen tomo que sirve de puente entre la introducción que vimos en el anterior y todo lo que va a venir en los siguientes. La saga de Whole Cake está siendo una gozada para mis ojos, me encantan la ambientación y el diseño de los personajes, y de momento estoy disfrutando de todo lo que leo. La acción está muy bien llevada y avanza a buen ritmo. Aunque la parte de Luffy y cía ha estado genial, pero me ha parecido más de lo mismo de lo que hemos visto en este manga. Así que de momento me interesan más las partes de Jinbe (que majo queriéndose unir a Luffy y confiando en él tanto) y la relación de Sanji con su familia . Con todo lo que hemos visto a Judge ya se le puede ir poniendo el titulo de peor padre del año.Tengo mucho interés por seguir descubriendo el pasado de Sanji, creo que va a hacer lo que más va a vertebrar todo este arco, y creo que todo lo que hemos visto hasta ahora no es todo todo lo que nos queda por observar de esta parte de su historia. Y en otro orden de cosas, el personaje de Big Mom me está gustando cada vez más, está haciendo un antagonista de primera. Con solo ver la escena que ha tenido de locura y como se ha cargado a su hijo y ha dejado muy claro que va a ser una enemiga de armas tomar.
No tengo ninguna duda (y espero) de que el siguiente tomo va a ser incluso más interesante que este, ya que le ha faltado un poquito de chispa. Pero tengo muchas esperanzas en todo lo que está por venir de este arco.

2019 reread : First volume without Traffy. Tough.
But about the volume now that I know how this arc goes : I love how crazy this arc is? The islands are really super fun to discover. And I know Big Mom is the vilain here, but some of what she wants to accomplish is great. I like seeing Jinbei around again. And Sanji interacting with his family is interesting too.
One the one hand : it's really interesting to discover those new islands and powers. Seriously it's super interesting and I looooooove all the food stuffs.
On the other hand : I don't think the crew as whole could get out of here alive. So I really don't know how half of the crew (minus some of its strongest members) will manage to flee.
I really like how things changed once we reached the second half of Grand Line. They stopped following the log pose all the time, they made some allies, the crew didn't stay together and clearly the arc was going to be more than one island since they were going after an emperor. That's great! Mixing things up is awesome! But I think maybe they are facing emperors a bit fast? I have trouble believing that they can come out of it alive. Hopefully I'm super wrong. It's always hard to judge before seeing the end of an arc.

I really want Sanji to just beat up his stupid dad and idiot siblings, deliver righteous payback from the years of physical and mental abuse, now that the tables have turned and they've got nothing on him anymore. There's so much catharsis we're missing out on here. But, yeah, him taking the high road and not go onto the offensive - even letting them continue kick him around some more - is better for the plot and for his character in the long run.

Enjoyed learning more about this sinister land of sweets plus finding out what Big Mom's power is. I also love Germa 66's floating island. Very excited about lots of past characters heading to a big meet-up, can't wait to see some of them again!

Overall, this is a solid beginning to the Whole Cake Arc. I would have rated this a four for some really important pieces of content, but some chapters feel more filler than not. And even though Oda tries to balance plot-points between the Straw Hats, it has yet to reach its stride. Which I'm sure it will in the next couple of volumes.
Lots of backstory to Sanji's past, which in itself takes some getting used to after approximately 70 volumes of otherwise, basic Sanji. It's all great though! And the Vinsmoke family definitely has an intriguing reputation.
Also, anything with Jinbe is automatically amazing. <3

I am a big fan of One Piece. I really suggest that you to read this book. It is really interesting. The main character in One Piece is Luffy. He is a pirate and there are eleven people in his boat. Everyone of them has their own responsibility. There is a voyager, doctor, musician, cooker, captain and so forth. Every pirate in his boat are good at fighting. It is a blood anime. In this chapter, Luffy is trying to save his friends (The cooker) from Big Mom. Big Mom is a really powerful pirate. Do you want to know what happen next? Then, Read This Book!!!

Luffy a young pirate who sets out on a mission with his crew to find the treasure the One Piece left behind by the great pirate king Gold D. Roger. In this scene, the Whole Cake Island Arc, it follows the Straw Hat Pirates and Luffy as they journey the land made of cake to rescue Sanji their crewmate and cook from Big Mom one of the four emperors of the sea.
Something I liked about this arc was the blend between action, humor, and emotion. It is filled with many battles however the author Oda is able to integrate things such as humor, emotion, and action so seamlessly that it doesn't seem exaggerated or unnecessary but fits right into the plot bringing out more depth to the characters and their personalities. For example, Luffy is the captain but is always goofy, never takes anything seriously, and is pretty dumb, however when it comes to saving his friends he becomes serious and is ingenious at creating and adapting to fights making him a great fighter. This arc was so nice because it explored so many character developments and shifts in the crew which overall brought them closer together.
Something I didn't enjoy was that it was slow-paced in the beginning. At times, scenes are dragged out and have unnecessary moments which make the pace of the book slow and boring. Sometimes dialogue and side adventures happen which deters the characters from the main plot but drives the reader crazy waiting for the main event to happen before the moments that build up to it. Sometimes it is dragged on too long although character bonding happens and people get impatient for the action to start.
Overall, the Whole Cake Island Arc was pretty enjoyable and is a must-read for fans of the series One Piece. It has a lot of character development and a lot of action-packed scenes making the fight scenes really intense. I recommend this book to people who are fans of anime, as well as readers who enjoy pirate-themed books, fighting, action, and adventure. "Piraten-Yonko Charlotte Linlin" ist der dreiundachtzigste Band der One Piece Reihe von Eiichiro Oda.
Sanji wurde von seiner Vergangenheit eingeholt und steht nicht nur seiner Familie gegenüber, von der er sich losgesagt hat, er steht auch vor einer Hochzeit mit Charlotte Pudding, die er nicht will. Sein Vater will Big Moms Unterstützung, doch seine kostbaren Söhne will er nicht hergeben. Doch er hat ja noch Sanji, den missratenen Sohn, der nun als Bräutigam herhalten muss.
Ich finde es sehr spannend, dass wir noch mehr über Sanjis Vergangenheit erfahren dürfen! Mit Jeff teilt er ja bereits ein schweres Schicksal, sodass ich ehrlich gesagt nicht gedacht hätte, dass da noch mehr in Sanjis Vergangenheit wartet, aber genau das macht es so spannend und man fragt sich, ob es auch bei den anderen Strohhüten weitere einschneidende Erlebnisse gibt, die wir noch nicht kennen.

Sie landen im Wald der Versuchung und es erinnert lose an die Abenteuer von Alice im Wunderland, was mir richtig gut gefallen hat! Ich liebe es ja sehr, dass Eiichiro Oda in jedem Arc eine neue spannende Welt erschafft und keine Insel wie die vorherige ist, sondern man immer etwas Neues entdecken kann!
Big Mom hat neununddreißig Töchter und sechsundvierzig Söhne und viele davon besitzen Teufelskräfte, was Ruffy und seine Freunde bereits feststellen müssen. Charlotte Linlin ist eine Yonko, eine der vier Kaiser und so sollten die Strohhüte sie nicht unterschätzen!
Ich fand richtig spannend und werde direkt weiterlesen!

We get deeper into the Whole Cake Island Arc as the Straw Hats get deeper into the actual Whole Cake Island. I know this arc is about as long as Dressrosa was, so I'm curious to see how much shit Oda throws at us. Luffy is already fighting Cracker, one of the "Sweet 3," and presumably one of Big Mom's best men. As was always the case with prior arcs, Big Mom and most of her kids look fucking stupid, but at least Cracker's true self is revealed to be less silly than his "armor," if that counts for anything. It's funny because Luffy says something about how he's always fighting seriously, when we soon see him flying by propelling his feet in Gear Fourth, and of course we know what will happen much later in the series with ; to be "serious" in this manga means something very different from other series, as there's a degree of goofiness that's always been prominent, as if e.g. Bacterian were to have buddies crop up in Freeza or Babidi's armies in Dragon Ball.
We learn of Big Mom's Soru Soru no Mi, which allows her to take bits of people's souls, which she then places into trees and flowers and cakes and her hat to give them life. Quite a unique and interesting power for a giant fatass who gets "hangry" all the time, to the point of killing her own kids. I guess I expected a zanier power, but I suppose it's also true her ability is "checked" by the oddity of her personality, that she could potentially be much more dangerous, or at the very least this power makes sense for a Yonkou.
Robin with a brainfreeze on the cover for Chapter 835 is actually the cutest thing I've seen in ages.
Nami with the pigtails is pretty hot, and I have half an interest in sniffing the Vivre Card she must have had in her cleavage for, like, two fucking years...! On the opposite end of the spectrum, I guess I'd like to sniff her pigtails as well, as I can imagine there would be a nice shampoo smell, rather than boobsweat of aforementioned Card.

Ho dato tre stelline a questo volume, più per il talento di Oda nel worldbuilding di nuovi mondi - e per quell’accenno di caratterizzazione più approfondita di Sanji - che per la storia in sè.
“One Piece” è un mastodonte, tanto lento e pesante quanto il mitico elefante gigante sulla cui schiena sorge l’isola di Zoo. La tensione narrativa e soprattutto emotiva è andata a farsi benedire da tempo, la trama principale, soffocata e sfilacciata dall’affollarsi di sottotrame che la tirano di qua e di là per prendersi il loro spazio, ha perso tutta la sua attrattiva.
I poignee griffe sembrano venir agitati come spauracchi, per ricordarci che forse Rufy e compagni avrebbero un obiettivo più alto da raggiungere. Ma ormai gli antagonisti hanno perso ogni fascino - e ricordiamoci che abbiamo dovuto aspettare settanta volumi per incontrare Doflamingo, il primo antagonista davvero caratterizzato a TUTTO TONDO di One Piece - e gli attacchi di fame di Big Mom assomigliano tanto a una pericolosa banalizzazione della bulimia.
In ogni caso, ormai, sono così tanto forti i nemici di Rufy, che una sua qualsiasi vittoria - per quanto certa, siamo in uno shounen di WSJ, mica nel paradiso delle distopie - sarebbe fuori luogo. E i volumetti di One Piece sono diventati così densi - sia a livello di trame parallele, sempre tantissime, sia a livello di riempimento delle vignette con una congerie di dettagli infinita - che a volte mi fa venire il mal di testa anche solo provare a leggerli.
È un peccato ma ormai siamo tutti rassegnati a vedere la fine di One Piece, forse, fra una decina d’anni, mentre Rufy continuerà a comportarsi da insopportabile scavezzacollo ed eterna caricatura di se stesso. Ma finché la serie vende, che motivo avrebbero di preoccuparsi, gli amici della Shueisha?

One Piece’e birkaç ay ara vermek zorunda kalmıştım çünkü Oda’nın hızına yetişmeme az kaldı. Yakında ağlayarak hadi yayınla şunları diye isyan edeceğim günler gelecek. Anime’den özellikle son bölümlerde aşırı spoiler’lı olduğumdan çok ara bir arc gibi geliyor burası (yine de çok ağlayacağımı biliyorum). Asıl olay hep Wano’ydu, Wano heyecanı ile yanıp tutuşuyorum resmen. Sanji’nin babasına ve ailesine gelecek olursak söyleyecek çok şey var ama genel anlamda Sanji’nin onlardan kurtulmuş olması mükemmel. Onun ellerine taktıkları o saçma şey küfürlüktü ama. Ablası dışında elbette hepsinden tiksiniyorum. Pudding bizimkilere haritayı verdi ve yardımcı oldu ama onu hala sevemiyorum. Ve Sanji’nin bir kadını reddettiği gerçeği ile gurur duyuyorum. Big Mom’un onlarca kocası çocuğu var ve bir tatlı manyağı. Gerçekten inanılmaz bir karakter. Tatlı krizi anında gözü hiçbir şeyi görmedi -kendi oğlunu bile. Jinbe’nin Big Mom ile çalışıyor olduğu gerçeğine cidden tahammülüm yok, hiçbir zaman olmadı da. Praline ve Aladine çiftini de asla yakıştıramadım. Praline aşırı sinsi ve komik geldi. Mom’un bir çarkı olması daha komikti, ondan ayrılan ya da ayrılmak isteyen herkesi cezalandırması mantıklı ama bunu bir konsept dahilinde yapması cidden korkutucu. Lola’nın Big Mom’un kızı olması ve Vivre Card meselesi de efsaneydi. Lola’nın Nami’ye o kağıdı vermesi cidden efso üstü efso olmuş oldu.En sevdiğim şey yeni tanınan karakterlerin hepsinin aşırı güçlü olması. Big Mom küçük bir ligde değil, Cracker Brulee falan efsaneydi o yüzden. Her seferinde Luffy’lere nerede olduklarını hatırlatmalarını da sevdim. Cracker’ın armor numarasına bayıldım.
