Rate this book
From Amazon Romantic Suspense, Mystery Romance and Fantasy Bestselling Author Nicola Claire comes the exciting continuation of the Kindred Series.

“I would die for you Lucinda, I would cast away everything I possess to be near you, I would take anything you willingly give and no more, this is what you mean to me."

Lucinda's relationship with the Master of the City is progressing at an alarming rate, but she is unsure if what she feels is the truth. Or just a by-product of the joining and Bond.

Can she even trust her own feelings?

To top that off, the vampire governing body has taken an interest in Lucinda and Michel's joining. The Iunctio's attention has now swung towards Lucinda and her kindred.

Can they prove themselves to be no threat to those vampires who rule all Nosferatu?

Then temptation appears in the form of a hedonist playboy vampire, who does not play by the rules. Lucinda must decide if this new seductive attraction is the correct path for her heart, or the vampire she is tied to for life is her one true love.

With such delectable men in her world, you'd think life would be a breeze. But there are whispers of a Prophecy and even Darker days ahead.

Lucinda may believe she belongs to no one, but there are those who seek to control her. And she may not have a say in that at all.

I am the Light to the Dark.
You call to me as I call to you.
I will always hold you dear.

Here's the thing; If I wanted to read Anita Blake books, I'd just read Anita Blake series. This book reminds me waaaaay too much of Anita Blake series. I gave up on A.B. series after it became too many men in her life, and of course I have to end up with another series that is just the same, and where the main heroine, Lucinda ends up breaking my Michel's heart, because she has no damn control of her body. Fuck her! I love you, Michel, you just come to me, I'll take care of you!! <3

“What does your heart say, ma cherie?”
What did it say? It said I loved Michel, but Michel was also hurting me right now and when I looked closer, it also said I might just love Gregor too. Aw damn. Confused much?

Not only does slutty Lucinda want Gregor too, she also lust after Nero. WTF?! I don't get her. Does she think everyone wants her so she can do whatever she wants? She has cheated on my Michel so many damn times now, that I'm getting furious. YES, KISSING DOES COUNT AS CHEATING IN MY HEAD!
The lights came back on, the Champion floated back to the ground and suddenly I was in Michel's arms.
And there was no where else I wanted to be.

Michel is the perfect man for her. He has her back no matter what. He follows her into danger just to be at her side. He cherish her. He is her rock when she's down. He takes her punishments EVEN THOUGH HE DOESN'T DESERVE IT, and she still get's angry. He loves her so fiercely, so so fiercely, and there she goes and hurts him CONSTANTLY! Lucinda needs a HUGE fucking kick in the ass, or she needs to get her damn head out of her ass.
“You're making this hard.” My voice did hitch a bit there, but I no longer cared. He could see what he was doing to me already.
“I am glad, it should be hard. It should not be easy to walk away from someone you love.”

Lucinda is pretty annoying. She believes she's this good person, while all she does is actually hurting people. Specially Michel. She get's angry and childish at things that doesn't make sense, and let other things that she SHOULD be angry at go. She let's Gregor manipulate her, and all she thinks is how much she wants him. Michel get's the blain and pain for every damn thing. I have lost soooo much respect for Lucinda. She was supposed to be this kickass woman, yet she SUCKS! She's weak. She hides. Did I mention that she's weak? So you are probably getting that she's getting on my nerves?
Leaving me slightly bemused and then belatedly realizing I had a smile on my face. He'd done it. He'd made me smile despite all the fear and heartache I was feeling. He'd made me, for an instant, forget and he hadn't even used his powers to do it.

I would normally like person's (more like vampires) like Gregor, however, he is making Michel hurt. Gregor is still kinda a mystery, though I'm not that interested in solving that mystery. I just want him gone so Michel doesn't hurt so much. Michel's my baby. So leave, Gregor and take Nero with you while you're at it.
He smiled, the smile he reserves for only me. That smile that takes my breath away, that shows me the little boy he once would have been. He doesn't flash that smile often, it makes him vulnerable, so I really appreciate it when he does. It's just so damn precious.
"Je t'aime trop, ma douce."

You have other characters like Nero. He's cool, I guess, but I want him gone as well. Lucinda, the slut, wants him as well, because obviously Michel's not enough for her. I want to slap her. Kinda stab her too, when I think about it. Rick on the other hand, I just couldn't get. What the fuck was up with him? He has lost it completely and I'm sad for how it will affect the Alpha of his pack. (Sorry, I don't remember his name...Jerome or something?)
“Je suis ici, ma douce cherie. Venez à moi.”

Anyways, now that I've kinda gotten out my anger-nope, not all anger is out. Did I mention that I hated Lucinda? If not then: I hate Lucinda. I'm renaming her to Slutty Lucinda. But no matter how much I hate her, I'm not ready to give this series up just yet. I still want to see where Michel is going. Will he finally leave her and she'll realize what she has lost and Michel will come to me? So yeah, I need to continue to read, at least third book and hope for the best.

Dear Author, you have broken my heart!

Crying - Rapunzel photo tumblr_lri11cuxFO1qdlkgg.gif
I don't know if my heart can handle the battle for love that I believe we are headed into. I have to know how this end, therefore I must press over my anguish and reluctance, and go on. But how can I endure anymore of this heroins stupidity. Her intelligence level has diminished so much in this book. I just want to slap her backwards across the floor! I know I have to let my anger go.

I had a love/hate thing going on with this book.

Lucinda is twenty-five and her powers have started to manifest, she seems to be surrounded on all fronts by danger and despite being bonded to Michel she sometimes feels so isolated and alone.
This book was a love/hate thing for me, I loved the whole idea and most of the characters plus the book's long so it's a read you can get lost in, at times I found I just couldn't read fast enough but.......
I think this is the most frustrating book I've ever read, Lucinda drove me to despair, I mean seriously what on earth is wrong with her. She's bonded to the seriously hot and sexy Michel and admits she loves him but then goes out of her way to alienate him and push him away and then push him away some more.
Then she's all over Nero like a dog in heat and then Gregor, I absolutely hate love triangles and so I repeat what on earth is wrong with her?
She makes a huge mistake early on but since she's never really been trained or had anything explained I couldn't really blame her for that.
I'm a lover of dual POV books, I know not everyone is but for me it gives a much better picture and therefore I love the bit we get at the end from Michel's POV I just wish there was more.

Ok, so, I am trying so hard to read this series but I keep putting it down and here is why: I am so tired of the heroine and her whining about her feelings concerning Michel yet she was fully manipulated by Gregor as well and she lets him drink from her at any time AND shares her mark with him. I really don't think she feels bad about any of this. Michel seems to be devoted to her and only her. She loves Michel but still allows Gregor everything she won't give to him. If she behaves this way, I really don't think I want to read anymore. She says she can only be with Michel but continually allows herself to be influenced by Gregor to "do the deed". No morals there. I keep expecting her to back her words up with action regarding Michel but she just can't do it. She really thinks so highly of herself. She is always in the right and doesn't care how much she knows she is hurting Michel by saying one thing to him but doing another. She really can't hold herself in such high regard. She needs to get off her high horse. If she wants both men, so be it but quit whining about it and making Michel feel as if he is the only one she wants. I guess it is just me wishing she could overcome her obstacles and be true to Michel. I will keep trying but I liked the Sweet Seduction series so much better. This is just frustrating.

I am loving this series at the moment.

The only thing that annoys me is the constant vacillating of 'am I in love, or am I not'. It's not the question that annoys me, but the constancy of the point expressed throughout the book. This is topped up by the 'suddenly, I know I am home' or 'he fills me with love', 'I know he is everything to me'; then reinforced by the couple fighting.

This musing occurs all the time, which for me, is overkill. We get that she is trouble and confused, it doesn't need to be continually shoved in the reader's face again and again.

This is the second book in this series so I was totally looking forward to it. I couldnt wait to find out what twists and turns Lucinda's life would take next. This book definitely didn't disappoint.

I can't say though on rather I am a fan of the addition of Gregor. I kind of like him but I have already severely fallen for Michel and seeing Lucinda spend any time with Gregor and not with Michel, breaks my heart. They both seem a bit manipulative at times and there were a few things in this book that made me root for Gregor and then be pissed off at Michel and then vice versa, so I can just imagine what poor Lucinda must be feeling. In the end, my heart is with Michel and I am hoping it continues to stay the same for Lucinda. While I'm on my character rant, Rick can just go to hell. I wasnt and still not a fan of him or the hapu. I don't see that changing any for me either.

There aren't a whole lot of things for me to rant about in this. There are many things that I wish Lucinda would have done, have not done, would say, or not have said but that's just how it goes. If everything happened the way that I wanted then there wouldn't be much point in reading it. Lucinda is a very strong woman and holds her own against everyone that comes her way rather it be with her powers or just her attitude. I find it extremely easy to feel a multitude of emotions while reading through. There is plenty of fighting, conflict, sadness, heartbreak, love, happiness. It all some how finds a way to show up.

Im not always satisfied 100 percent with how some things have been written but this story just pulls me in and keeps me aching to find out how it all ends. That is what matters. A great story is always worth reading. I love this series and I'm sure it will only become more interesting.

Nicola Claire did it again, and wrote a wonderful book. In fact, I loved this book so much more than the first one!! It starts off right where the other one finished and from the beginning to the end this book keeps you entertained. I went through so many emotions while I was reading this book and at one point I even felt anguish right along side Lucinda. I became so absorbed in the story and with the characters, it was like I was living their lives with them!! Excellant book and I can't wait for the next installment!! I am hooked on this series and in my opinion it is one of the better vampire series out there.
Lucinda has to deal with the fact that she is the "Sanguis Vitam Cupitor",(Blood Life Seeker)and a huge part of this book is surrounded by some of her experiences with this and also finding out about a prophecy that some believe is talking about Lucinda. She gets pulled to a Nosferatu feeding on a Nosferatin all a way in Rome and this is where she meets the vampire, Gregor. He is The Enforcer for the Iunctio, which help to keep the vampire's obeying the rules, and protects the humans. Gregor, Michel, and Lucinda end up throughout this story involved in a very emotional love triangle. There is lots that takes place in this story and many new characters and surprises. The sparks between Gregor and Lucinda are explosive and at one point I was so taken in by it my heart was racing! This book is well worth the time spent to read it and anyone that loves a good vampire series that is full of action, adventure, romance and sex, must read this.
This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Blood Life Seeker begins when Lucinda is in a Dream Walk where she meets Gregor, a major player in the vampire world. When she comes back from the dream she tells Michael, and now they both know that things are going to change, and not in a good way. To top it all of Lucinda just lost her best friend, and I do not mean he's dead... With all of this going around, Lucinda also has an attraction she can't seem to fight when it comes to Gregor. Then she's unsure for what she really feels with Michael, and now they must go to Paris to meet with the head of the vampires to make sure Lucinda isn't a threat to them.

I have to say I was majorly disappointed with this book. I seriously thought that the bond between Michael, and Lucinda meant a lot more than. I hate the way they both treat each other in this book it just pissed me off. I lost a lot of respect for both of them. Not only that but half the time when Lucinda was mad at Michael I didn't totally agree with her because of how she acted around Gregor, and even Neo jeez. I felt she had no freaking boundaries even though she claimed to "love" Michael. I'm not sure I want to continue this series if it's just going to be a love triangle. I seriously hate those, and this is what this series seems to be turning into. Very disappointed with this book. Other than that I did like all of the powers Lucinda has, and how she acted around the head of the vampires. The book was written very well, and the story was interesting. But again I hate the whole Lucinda-Micheal-Gregor-heck even Neo thing. That is getting on my nerves.

I liked the heroine well enough in the first book but she really got on my nerves in this one. Also, did anyone else notice the strange similarities that this book has to Destined for an Early Grave by Jeaniene Frost? What these two books had in common:

-A powerful vampire named Gregor trying to seduce the heroine
-Gregor has mind/dream control/powers
-Gregor and the heroine interact in Paris

I don't know if Nicola Claire and Jeaniene Frost just happened to be completely unaware of these similarities, but the two books are uncannily similar.

Let me first say that I am a fan of Nicola’s writing. She is actually one of my favorite authors. I just enjoy her style of writing and how she brings us into the world of all of these characters. She creates this plot that pulls us into every scene. There is fun filled action pack, twist and turns and even heartbreak. Never a dull moment.

So now Lucinda’s relationship with Michel is progressing a lot. To where now she knows she loves him, but she is not for sure if it has to do with the bond and joining. She is second guessing a lot of things because she does not think that if they were not bonded then they would not be together. And the fact that Michel hides a lot information from her does not make things any better.

Then you have Gregor that comes in the picture. And he and Lucinda share something that she did not even want to give Michel. I have to tell you, I absolutely HATE love triangles. Sometimes they are just not needed. I mean don’t get me wrong, this was very entertaining, but I just HATE love triangles. I cannot deal with them. To me it either you want to be with someone or you don’t. I understand that people are attractive to one another, but man let’s not go with the Love Triangles. Oh and you can’t forget Nero… That’s another story.

And then for Michel to compromise and say I will share you, I don’t think that is right. Lucinda would not like Michel being shared now would she? It will be very interesting on what the next installment has in store for us. Because there are still unresolved issues between Lucinda, Michel and Gregor. Oh boy, I guess I will have to wait and see what’s next.

And then hopefully we can see what else is going to happen with shifters. There are some issues going on within their pack. So hopefully we can see a conclusion to that.

Until Next Time, Happy Reading!

I am having a really hard time reviewing this book. face palm photo: Double Face Palm DoubleFacePalm.jpg
Facts:
1. The very best part of the book for me was the *bonus* chapter at the end that was in Michel's POV.
2. The main character is so damn annoying. She asks her self the same question, same words, if she can trust her feelings... back and forth, over and over, back and forth, to the point that it felt realistically like 40% of the book. And as soon as she reaches a "resolve" she changes her mind. Then we get to another point, and she sees it "clearly" it's "perfect" but wait! not quite. AARRRGGGGHHHH!
3. The parts that actually had substance to them were good. Though I am totally over the love triangle, and normally they don't bother me, it just didn't work for me. I liked her powers, her Bond, Michel, oh, and more Michel.
4. I like the idea of the characters (though there is definitely some overlap with other books, but I don't think that can be avoided anymore). Gregor could be great and The Champion, Nut *hee hee, Child of oh-my-god-I-just-NUT-ed* included, but NOT Rick the moron, or what is OBVIOUSLY the issue with that other random human who pops up

I think I am still hanging onto how much I enjoyed her other book Mixed Blessings. I need more action and less indecision, my forehead can't handle much more.

Hated this one

I loved the last book, but this one was so bad on so many levels, I am tempted to give up on the series. If this were the first book, there is no way I would read another. First off, readers should be warned that there is cheating in this story from both partners, although the vamp couldn't help his. Lucinda though is really passionately wanting every man around her. It's actually nauseating and I really feel for Michel. SPOILERS ahead. Yes, I know that previous sentence was a spoiler, but it's one I really wish I had read in a review before starting this frustrating series. Lucinda is constantly wanting to jump the bones of every guy around her, flaunting it in Michels face while constantly questioning whether her deep feelings for him are real or a product of the bond. This book was so much like the Southern Vampire series that it was obviously ripped off, but at least Sookie didn't act like this when she was actually with Eric. Lucinda on the other hand talks about fidelity, but is constantly throwing herself at others. While she hadn't yet hadk sex with anyone else, it isn't for lack of her not trying to every other chapter. Check even when Michel is laying on deaths door, she leaves him in the bed to dry hump another vamp and when Michel points out that obedient take advantage of her when she was vulnerable, but the other vamp did, she gets mad at him. For someone who doesn't like to be manipulated, she sure has no problem humping a guy doing it and resenting the one hurt because she keeps doing it and right in front of him at that. She acts like a spoiled little trumpet. She cried and went crazy when Michel h

This is the second book of the Kindred series - it is a flawless continuation of book one and as a reader you are immediately thrown back into the story,

Lucinda and her kindred Michel are facing more and more problems , new characters appear and spice the story line up and old characters add to the problems the two main protagonists have to deal with.

There is not a dull moment in this book , it is a joy to read it ( look for a quiet place and settle for the day ).

...again, I highly recommend this series to everybody who likes to read a interesting and entertaining prn series.

Life is getting even more complicated for Lucinda when Gregor enters in to the mix. I am not really a fan of love triangles, specially when there is a lot of manipulative behavior. I feel that they stall the character development, so I hope this dilemma does not linger. Still, this is a terrific read and I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book.
P.S HATE covers, they totally do not do these books justice they deserve

OMG that was good! The first one in series was good but this one is even better. I really like the character of Gregor so I'm dying to know how that goes. Of course I like all these characters. Seeing the good in people is Lucinda's super power, I swear if I ever had a daughter I'd name her Lucinda for this character. Wowzers!

I'm so happy it's getting better or maybe I'm just glazing over some of Luce's "stuff". The introduction of Gregor is a fun part of this book. I felt some Anne Rice and Stephanie Meyer influence in this one. Luce seems to be maturing a bit but I still want her stronger not in a physical sense but in a yes-Michel is hot as all that-but-i can disconnect my libido for 2 fucking seconds-and-realize that he could throw me aside to get what he wants. At the end of each book so far we get a chapter from Michel's POV and that helps a bit with the pissiness I feel whenever Luce has one of her (OMG-Michel is so hot in black-forgot he was just a dick to me-oops my black short skirt and black tights and black t shirts-that's not really goth-just fell off and now we are having fantastical sex-) moments. But seriously BEFORE I read his POV I want to fucking strangle her! Now, take a breath and calm the fuck down. Having said all that Luce, Nero, Gregor, The Iunctio (which in my head I always say Iluminati) and Michel's dynamic plus the ongoing storyline is a fun read and I will read the next one to see what happens with Gregor, The Champion, etc.
and does anyone else hate the cover? Is that suppose to be Michel without a neck?? WTF??

This one was a struggle. Too much emotional whiplash! i just dont care for Lucinda and the inconsistencies and naivety of her character. She can be strong, but is a wishy washy selfish bitch more often then not, yet all these male characters are fascinated by her. I fail to see why. I liked storyliner itself, and The writing isnt bad, just the mfc is. Didn't love the first book, but thought I'd try the second one. Nope, not for me. I can see how other readers may like this series, I'm just not one ot them.

Where did the Lucinda from the first book go? I wish she'd come back because this sequel was full of angst, whining, and codependancy.
There was little to no laudible character development, except for a smidge of information on Michel's past. Add to that only the intense and constant self inflicted slut-shaming, and there was very little for me to continue identifying with Luce.
If I do read the next, I hope that this proves to just be a single weak story

There is definitely a lot of angst in this book, so if you like a lot of angst, this one is for you! I have to admit that this one wasn't my favorite. I strongly dislike love triangles of any kind, and this one is particularly annoying. I just can't get behind wishy-washy heroines who go back and forth. I understand Gregor is manipulative and hope that Lucinda will redeem herself for me in the next book.

Much of this book was recapping the first book.... annoying. Also Lucinda isn’t a character you embrace. She’s terrible to Michel at times. The love triangle isn’t great. I’ll read the next one bc it’s part of a bundle or wouldn’t.
