She was a siren amongst an ocean of terror. One fragile woman, fighting to survive... fighting to be heard. And Zadoc Kane heard her with every fibre of his being...

Zadoc's the fourth of twelve Guardians. Dragon-born in the sign of Aries, he carries all the traits of his sign - the good and the bad. He's the protector, the hard-headed stubborn ram. He's brave and noble with a vicious temper, and he has littered his family's mountain with the bodies of those who've harmed the weak. And as the rival Echo pack descends on his home to kill his family, he plans on adding to the count. Until a voice stops him in his tracks... a human woman amongst a sea of wolves.
Zadoc has a choice, fight alongside his kin... or sacrifice everything to protect her. But the choice was never his to make. His Dragon, the Wretched, will make it for him...

Family. Honour. Love. What happens when those three collide? Who will be left standing? Who will be left heartbroken?

I have been an avid reader for longer than I can remember, desiring the darker, edgier works of Bram Stoker, Stephen King, Dean Koontz. I first started writing in High School giving that away when my first attempt was nothing more than dribble. I wish now that I kept at it, pursued it with a hunger that I currently possess.

Writing is my passion, it is what fuels the fires inside of me and it is an all-or-nothing furnace that keeps me up at all hours.

I am married to a wonderful supportive husband, I have 2 wonderful kids and the best friends that I have waited some 35 odd years to meet.

ARIES

Wow what a awesome story with amazing characters. I loved this book, it was exciting and very entertaining with a few twists along the way. It's filled with heartbreak, revenge, action, suspense, and romance. It kept me hooked and drew me in from beginning to end. The author does a great job detailing her writing and helping the reader to visualise the scenes we are reading perfectly. A well balanced storyline which flowed smoothly. Another fantastic read to add to this awesome series. Loved it!

Zadoc was no wolf—he was Dragon. 5 FIERY HEARTS

I was playing with danger, flirting with death. I free fell into destiny. But I had more at stake here—I had my heart. Love would fight. Love would surrender. I only hoped love would find a way to win. HOLY DRAGON FIRE!! What a great story! No, no! That doesn't do it justice! More like - WOW OH WOW! WOW!! WOW!!! WHAT A TRULY FANGTASTICALLY WRETCHED BOOK!! (Get it? Because the name of Zadoc's Dragon is The Wretched... ) I was on edge the entire time, hoping for something good, cursing when it didn't come! But MAN! When it DID happen, it was so overwhelmingly ARIESOME I could hardly see through the tears to keep reading! And there was a LOT tears! Tears of happiness, tears of relief, tears of sorrow, tears of... well, you get the idea! However, the tears flowed like Niagara Falls at the almost end of the book!! I want to say more, but I have double-zipped my lips & fingers so that no spoilers sneak out!!! I honestly have to say that this is The Best Zodiac Dragon Guardians book yet! For whatever reason, I was intrigued with Zadoc, The Wretched and Joslyn pretty much from the first time I met them (in earlier books), and was eagerly awaiting their story, but I honestly did not expect to connect and BECOME them as deeply as I did!! In fact, I connected with them the most intensely out of all of the others before them!! Expertly wielding her phenomenal talent, Kim transported me back into her deeply enriched Zodiac Dragon Guardians World, while her perfectly detailed, lush descriptions brought it all to life around me! I totally feel like Kim really amped up her game with Zadoc & Joslyn's story! I loved how it connected & joined with the other books, since it was happening at the same time as book 3 - Evander & book 4 - A Roaring Fire (included with this book as well!), but now we have the other side of it, rounding out some key points perfectly!! Like I said, there are so many parts, pieces & aspects to it that this is without a shadow of a Dragon... errr, doubt, my ABSO-DRAGON-LUTELY FAVORITE BOOK in this series!!

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT
Pulse pounding up and down ride
So heartbreaking what Zadoc goes through, thank goodness for Joslyn, she is such a inspiring and heartwarming soul. What they both endure is terrible but loving. It will give you chills.
And just when you think you've figured it out the author surprises you with so much more and does it beautifully.

A must-read for any reader who enjoys a paranormal romance with depth and intensity so deep that it will leave you wanting more.

Ok that was so hard. What Zadoc and Joslyn have gone through and still go through is so unfair. I was hoping for not such a hard stop, but their live is still in a rough place. Zadoc is still healing from what they have done to him. And Joslyn, finally having found her inner strength, to feel empty once more. UGH!!! Neither deserve that. And what is the deal with the Doc. Is she a friend or foe? I cant tell anymore. I thought at the end that she might be a new member but Im not sure anymore. I am praying that things turn around for them real soon. They have been through way too much and deserve some happiness.

I am so in love with this series! Each zodiac dragon story gets better with each book. I am totally on the edge of my seat hooked and impatiently waiting for the next one. Kim Faulks creates some of the most strongest and resilient characters i have ever read about. It doesnt matter how crazy and low of a situation these dragons face, they face it head on and with no mercy. And of course the faith and strength of their heroin counterparts only increases their fierceness. Ok Kim bring on book 5, im so ready!!

Is it worth it? (Goodreads Edition)

I didn't enjoy this read as much as the other ones. If you read the previous books, they give too much away about the happenings of this book. Also being locked in a cage for the whole book wasn't providing much world building in my mind. It seems like a filler read setting you up for upcoming books. Also how did she have 2 babies at once with both being healthy being created so far apart? And if the babies are indeed immortal why did she have to worry about losing them?

Zadoc and Joslyn are my favorite zodiac couple by far !! Zadoc is a take no prisoners, apologize to no one kind of dragon and when Joslyn comes roraing into his life with a whimper , he doesn't think the Fates have made the right choice. Joslyn shows him just how wrong he is !! They are the perfect couple of opposites attract !! 4.5⭐'s !! I received a gifted copy and read it all in one sitting !! I'm voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review !! Can't wait for the next one !!

This story is filled with pain. Pain in all forms, a havoc ridden trough your body and soul. A vile thing that turns you up side down, wake you in horror even when you sleep. The poison boiling your blood and making forget who you even are. Tortures which never ends. But there is also love, love that protect till last breath and not letting you go even if everything seems lost. And there is lots of courage. All of this in a story I wasn’t able to put down.

Broken but not gone

War has come and evil continues to attack those the Guardians protect but the Guardians are waking up. It's more than just protection now because their mates are at risk too. Zadoc is a broken dragon but when he hears the cry of one human he can't leave her and he'll do anything to keep her safe.

OMG, this is the most emotional book of this series, I cried throughout the entire book, even the sex part had me crying and just when I thought I would have a reprieve when I finally smiled and was happy, well really Zadoc and Joslyn, BOOM! Congratulations Ms. Faulks you really touched my heart with this story. All of the stories in this series are in their own right very sad, but this one really got to me.

Joslyn is a human that has had a very sad life, always looking to belong and when she finally thinks she has found it, her eyes are opened to the reality of her situation. She is preganant with a wolf and trusts no one, not even the one person who tries to come to her aid. Too late she discovers that the beast will protect her with his life if it comes to that. She is not afraid of the Wretched and calls him to her, giving him what he needs to bring him back to life, a son.

Zadoc born under the sign of Aries the Ram The Guardian has taken it upon himself to protect the weak and his family from the darkness. He spends almost all his time on his mountain among the graves he has created for all who would harm women and children. He knows he has alienated his dragon the Wretched, but when he hears her voice, her screams the beast speaks to him after years of silence. In that moment he knows he will endure anything, even die for this little human who carries his child, she is his salvation, or maybe his doom

The Huntress wants Joslyn's child, there is something very special about her wolf, not even the mother knows. When she gives birth to her wolf, something never expected happens, something miraculous. Something worse than the Huntress lurks in the shadows

I cannot begin to say how much I want to read the next book in this series, so suspenseful!

I waited so impatiently for Zadoc's story.....It does not disappoint, I could not put it down!

Zadoc is one of the twelve zodiac dragons born under the Aries sign

During a huge supernatural battle at the zodiac dragon's house, Zadoc sees a human women being taken. While trying to step in to save Josyln from the shifters and demons, Zadoc is taken with to the demon world. There is something about Joslyn that calls to both Zadoc and his dragon "Wretched" to protect her and her unborn, wolf shifter, child. She is their mate and they will protect her and their child!

Zadoc and Joslyn are two very strong characters that fall in love while being held captive and will do everything in their power to protect each other. This book is heartbreaking to read what they have to overcome to be together. Excellent addition to the zodiac dragon series! I cannot wait for the next one!

I have read all the books in the series and recommend reading them in order. It is a darker kind of story about dragon shifters that had a duty to protect humanity but after many centuries lost their way. Now, they are finding a way back to their mission and also finding their mates.

Zadoc and Joslyn are trapped together in hell but find love. It is a dark time for them both but they are strong and remain devoted to one another. The abuse is hard to handle. It is an intense story. I had great respect for them both for their strength.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

What a story!

The Zodiac Dragon Guardians series continues with Aries, the story of the fifth brother, Zadoc, and his human mate, Jocelyn, as they survive the horrendous tortures of The Huntress who has captured them. Ms. Faulks has woven an intricate overarching plot that advances with each couple's beautifully told and heartwarmingly passionate story. Her descriptions are vivid and her narrative is expertly told from each main character's point of view. And just when we think we can let out our breath, we are hit with a cliffhanger leaves are stunned. Highly recommended.

This is a fast paced, very dark and intense read that kept me on an emotional roller coaster ride throughout the whole book. Enjoyed Zadoc and Joslyn's story and how they stayed strong for the others moral support.

Love this series and am looking forward to the next one.
