****Don’t miss the exciting first book in T. S. Joyce’s brand new standalone series, Sons of Beasts****

Bounty Hunter, Nox Fuller, has been challenged to do the impossible. He’s supposed to bring the Red Dragon in for a year long stint in shifter prison, but this job could be the death of him. His focus should be on the hunt, but when he meets a shy shifter named Nevada, he can’t help but be distracted by the curvy beauty. He doesn’t care that she has trouble speaking to people. He’s different too. But as he finds out exactly what kind of shifter he’s falling for, he realizes he’s in way over his head. Stuck between a war with the local crew, and the fire-breathing Red Dragon, Nox has to tread very carefully. Too bad he’s the least careful bear shifter in existence. It’s not just his safety at risk as he hunts Vyr though. The closer he gets to the dragon, the more danger he and Nevada are both in.

Nevada Foxburg has a life full of secrets. One chance meeting with a feral grizzly shifter from Damon’s Mountains puts not only her at risk, but her people too. They’re doomed from the start, and she’s supposed to pair up with a shifter like her, but Nox is wild, battle-hardened, funny, sexy-as-sin, and too interesting for his own good. He makes life fun, and keeps her on her toes. But he’s got secrets too, and when she finds out he’s in her hometown hunting the most dangerous creature on earth, she has to make a choice. Stay safe deep in the sanctuary of her crew, or risk her life to have Nox’s back.

LOVED THIS. Nox was amazing and I believe one of my favorite of Joyce's heroes. It's been awhile since Ive read this author, but her writing is even better than I remember. Romantic in a unique and totally swoony worthy way. Hilarious as shit too. LOVED THIS!

I LOVE these messed up, deranged, dominant, funny as hell shifters.

A great start for a new series.

These sons were more than a little obnoxious, a little of them went a long way. The only thing that save this one for me was Nevada. I really liked how she managed to tame the 3 guys, but most especially Nox. Nox seemed to give Nevada the strength to fight against her family and do what she really wanted to, life her own life. It will be interesting to see what happens now that Vyr has claimed the area. I sort of hope the foxes do something to enrage him.

This is the story of Clinton's son, Nox. If you've read the other books, you'll know just how freaken crazy Clinton is and his son doesn't fall far from the tree, which means, I loved this book. TS Joyce does crazy so well.

My only issue is that I was a little confused because somehow I'd missed book 5 for the Red Havoc series. How the hell did that happen? Needless to say, I'm reading that one as soon as I'm done this review. Which is now.

Nox Fuller is a bounty hunter, he takes the toughest jobs and his newest task is bringing the most feared dragon back to spend time in jail. Red Dragon lives up to his volatile name, Nox though figures he will either capture him or get killed in action. Life could be worse. However when he is out one night he comes to the rescue of Nevada Foxburg, a shy timid Fox who is sexier than she knows.

Nevada is deathly afraid of others but she knows she needs to thank think the intimidating Nox for helping her. What she doesn't expect is that she feels safe with him but Nox is not a man who does commitment and Nevada is too tempting to resist. Can the man who has no friends nor wants any take on a mate?

This is a 3.75 for me. Initially I thought Nox was a bit off putting but he grows on you and by the end you are completely hooked. Nevada is a intriguing character, a bit different for a shifter. I am anxious to read Torrens story though, looks to be a fun series.

I love TS Joyce books - they're so much fun!

This was a great start to a new series. Nox and Nevada were so perfect for each other. There's no unnecessary drama and I was happy with the way things ended. Can't wait for the next book :)

Another masterpiece

You know you're reading a great book when you lose track of time and everything that is going on around you. This happened to me whilst reading Son of the Cursed Bear.

I am excited to read more of this new series but I do hope there will be no peeing on the Red Dragon, I dropped my kindle laughing so hard at that, I was laughing that hard my Mr asked if I needed a drink of lemonade which set me off all over again, you know that kind of laugh where you can't breath, tears streaming down your face and your cheeks and ribs hurt.

But seriously, this is now my joint second favourite book from T. I long for August and the next installment.

Found this in a 2-for-1 Audible sale and decided to give it a go. Because...why not, I need something easy to listen to, to laugh, and Joyce usually delivers on humor.

This one had me snorting a few times from laughing so hard. This was partially because of the actual story and partially the narrator's performance—I love when they get into what they're reading and chew the scenery a bit while doing it. Nox is the most obnoxious MC I've read in a while, if not the most, period. And I was rolling with how amazingly unsocialized he is. Nevada is the kind of character who usually annoys me, but Sherman's vocal choices for her made her endearing instead.

Until peeking at other reviews for this book, I wasn't aware it's a continuation of one of Joyce's other long-running series, but it worked totally fine as a stand-alone. Some past events are referenced with enough context given to not be lost.

Totally enjoyable way to spend an evening. Will likely listen to this one again.

Dem foxes, though. The only part of the story that left me wanting was lack of background to exactly what Nevada was to her clan/family and why that made her being with Nox even worse.

T.S. Joyce is definitely one of my favorite guilty-pleasure authors. And I loved that this one had a main character with social anxiety and a tug-on-the-heartstrings melodramatic storyline. All the right elements to make this immensely enjoyable for me!

This is a trilogy from T. S. Joyce. Right now what I need is to read something that pulls me away from reality, entertains me, makes me laugh, makes me worry and makes me happy. As far as I’m concerned this checked all of the boxes.
4 stars
This is a continuation from the entire massive series from this world even though it is declared a standalone trilogy. I found more than enough references to the previous books that it works well in the series and if you’re a compulsive neurotic about books like me, reading them in order is pleasurable. But not the end of the world if you don’t. Normally when the female character is weak, shy and quiet I’m out! Here Nevada was all that and absolutely adorable. I fell in love with her right on page one. Nox Is over-the-top Mancho, overly growly, and yummy. Joyce somehow hit this one out of the park as well. In fact Joyce broke all of my rules. The two of them, got the hots for each other right away I normally hate that. Every other little rule I have she broke and I still adores this book. I have nothing bad to say. Was this a great book? Hell no! Was it a fun book? Double yes! Did it scratch my itch? Yes!
What more could you ask for.

Nox is charged with bringing in the Red Dragon Vyr, by the dragons' father, but try as he may he just can't do it. Torren Vyr's best friend always gets the best of him. Then when they find out about Nevada, all bets are off. She's his mate and those 2 will not get their hands on her to get to him. But he really never had to worry about her. She was able to control the mighty Red Dragon where no one else ever could. One tiny slip of a girl!

Nevada Foxburg has lived her life hiding from people until one chance meeting with a feral grizzly shifter from Damon’s Mountains. He puts not only her at risk, but her people too. They’re so wrong for each other, she’s supposed to pair up with a shifter like her, but she likes Nox he is wild, funny, and too hot for his own good. He makes life fun for her and she is not afraid to talk to him. He makes her feel special which no one has ever done before.

Together these 4 will forge a very strange, but special alliance.

Nox was pretty much everything you'd hoped he'd be, being Clinton's son. Super funny, in an in-your-face way, smarta**, crazy, fun, and sweet all at the same time. Never know what he's going to do or what's going to come out of his mouth next, but you know it'll either make you laugh or melt your heart.

And Nevada was perfect for him. It was great seeing him try to fight against liking her as much as he did, because you knew he needed her calm to help sooth his crazy personality. And she's probably the only shifter in history that's ever done to a dragon what she did...I absolutely died!

What a wonderful start to what I know will be an amazing series. Highly recommended, and get ready to laugh your socks off!

RARE reading challenge

Again a new author to me and I do love supes. Here we have a super grumpy bear shifter who is no good with people skills so he's a bounty hunter by trade.

Nevada couldn't be further away from the brashness of Nox if she tried. A lifetime of not being enough has her confidence at an all time low. But opposites attract and meeting Nox seems to light a fire within the little fox.

This was a fun if short book. It hard to cram in back story when you have such a short book and so whilst I did enjoy it, I liked it, hence the three stars, I struggle to work up to more than that as I'm not quite fully invested in the characters.

I am curious about the dragon and the silverback but I think I'll be kinda bummed if they aren't meant for each other.

Son of a...

Clinton Fuller is my favourite of T.S. Joyce's shifters, so it should come as no surprise that his son, Nox Fuller, is right up there with him.
I loved reading about Clinton's happy ending, so to see his son Nox continue their story gave me the warm and fuzzies. I also had to wipe back tears at how the Fuller men/bears express their love.
I need to get a book of "I Love Yous" for my own.

This was a fun read with a group of ragtag shifters. While they each come across as loners when push comes to shove they have each other's backs. I'm interested in seeing what the next book in this series has to offer with this lovable group.

Ok wow! You could not have a more perfect pair. Pretty sure this is my favorite book from this author so far. Funny, crazy and shifters also a guy with no filter what so ever. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Son of the Cursed Bear made me laugh out loud so many times. The story was sweet, funny with some action scene. The love was a bit insta-lovey but it's to be expected with a 237 page book.

T.S. Joyce is a new author to me and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work.

Bounty hunter and sexy werebear Nox Fuller has to track down the Red Dragon and take him off to shifter jail. Instead, he meets Nevada Foxburg, a beautiful fox with horrendous social anxiety. Somehow, Nox’s anti-social, practically feral demeanor draws Nevada out of her shell and the sparks fly. But how will the other foxes react when they find out she’s shacking up with a bear? And what about that dang dragon?

I rarely laugh out loud when reading but Joyce’s novel had me howling with laughter. There is one scene– no spoilers– that is so unexpected and so ridiculous, I busted a gut reading it and scared the cat away. Sorry, Wallace.

But I also found the book really tender and sweet. Nevada’s mental illness and Nox’s noxious personality (I had to) are both treated with respect and care. It’s a short, quick read, but I really liked it.

The couple: Nox and Nevada

Romance genre: shifter
Series: Sons of Beasts
Length: 237 pages

Plot: Nox is passing through town on his way to a job - finding and helping to subdue the scariest dragon shifter out there. When he stops at the local grocery store (and then the bar), he meets Nevada, a shifter with severe anxiety. She doesn't feel so bad when she's talking to Nox though. But both of them of them have problems and secrets, and the threats surrounding them are very real.

Commentary: Oh, these two were funny! Nox is that friend who says the things that would get anyone else fired or brought up on charges. He just can't help himself.
And screw whoever watched him claim her. But she wasn’t corrupt like him. She probably wouldn’t appreciate getting publicly dominated. But maybe? She had made him cookies. Cookies were a good sign. She’d thought about him enough to get up early and bake. She’d spent time on these.

The entire table went silent and froze, probably because Nox was dressed in mid-thigh cut-off shorts, a white T-shirt that read Bone Ripper across his tightly puckered nipples, and was he wearing…? “Are those baseball socks?” she whispered, pointing to his yellow and white knee-high socks.

Seriously, Leslie, what did you mean by that comment? You don’t think Nevada’s hot?”
“Do you?” Jack scoffed.
Nox pointed to his short shorts. “Boney McDickerson says yes.”

“Well, yeah.” He gestured to her perfect cleavage. “Boobs. Butt.” He flicked his fingers at her thighs. “You smell like you want me, and it gives me…” He hooked his hands on his hips. This was the point where he was supposed to be polite and normal. “You know…”
“No, I don’t know. You’ve been on a long ride of weird with your answer. Don’t stop now.”
Nox cleared his throat loudly. She was wearing a dress and had her hair curled so he should woo her into bed properly, the way Mom always said he should talk to girls. “You give me erections. Of my dick.” He gestured grandly at his lap. “My dick is erect.”

Now she was blushing, and her cheeks were so pretty that color. She liked when he said nice things, he could tell, so he said, “Your cheeks are the color of vaginas.”

He and Nevada shouldn't work but they do. They complement each other so well. Nevada's internal self was so sassy, starting with her names for Nox, such as "Giant Weirdo with a Beardo." She didn't judge him for that weirdness though. She just accepted him as he was, and he did the same in return. They were perfect for each other.

Next book in the series: Son of Kong

And as their aftershocks slowly faded away, she leaned up and kissed him in a silent thank you. “Does it hurt?” she whispered, unable to ignore the red streaming down his neck. The corner of his lips twisted up in a smile. “I think love is the best kind of pain.”

Taking A Chance!!!

Nox Fuller, a Bear shifter and a bounty hunter who was tasked of bringing Vyr "Red Dragon" in for a year stint in a shifter prison but that task was becoming very challenging. He know he should keep his head in the game but when he met the sexy, shy shifter named Nevada. He knew that things would be very interesting.

"No, Nevada Foxburg. I wouldn't ask you to change either...You can just be who you are around me, and I won't judge."

Nevada Foxburg, a Fox shifter who was promised to be pair with a shifter like her. So when she met the sexy as sin, funny, handsome devil, bear shifter Nox Fuller she knew she wanted to know more about him. But being close to him puts her and her people in danger especially considering that the man was hunting down the Red Dragon.

"Do you want to come to a family dinner with me?"

When Nox finally found Vyr what an interesting encounter it was. Torren sure had his best-friend's back no matter what. Holy cow the power Vyr held just abouf took me by surprise but then again it shouldn't cause he was Damon Daye's son after all.

"I said stop," he said coolly, his eyes churning silver. The pupils there were elongated like a snake's. Snake, snake, snake, Vyr was a fucking snake for pretending to be Nox's alpha. Fight, Bear! Fight everything!

Nevada and Nox took their relationship to the next level...He claimed her as his mate yet walked away to protect her from his inner beast. What he didn't realize was that they complemented each other in such ways that he couldn't bring himself to leave Foxburg.

The incident that took place in Covington with Vyr had the Dragons in the public eyes. Even though he was helping a friend out the government wanted to make an example of him.

Nevavda and Nox couldn't be happier now that they had each other. When the foxes found out about their bond let's just say that they weren't happy. They even went as far as hurting Nevada but what they didn't expect was for her to have people looking out for her.

Nox, Nevada, Torren and Vyr became closer than the guys wanted to admit. Nevada was the glue that kept them from killing each other. Despite what they said about not liking one another that was all a lie. Can't wait for Torren's book.

SON OF THE CURSED BEAR is the first book In T. S. Joyce's SONS OF BEASTS triology. It was the funniest most enthralling and adventurous journey involving some old friends I've read in a while. T. S. Joyce did a remarkable job, Nox has become one of my favorite book boyfriends. 5 fan-freakin-tastic stars!
