He knew right where she was. He thought he was keeping her safe . . . Until the US Government took his mate.
Julian Stone, computer genius for the Stone Society, has spent the last few months helping his fellow Gargoyles rescue their mates while keeping hackers at bay. Now, Julian must save his own mate from the hands of the US Government.
Katherine Fox has been imprisoned for crimes she didn’t commit and is confined to the FBI’s SuperMax facility among the worst criminals known to man and Gargoyle. Julian is left with no choice but to break Kat out of prison.
Even as war looms for the Stone Society, the Clan steps up to help Julian rescue Katherine. They vow to protect her with their lives. It will be up to Julian to find the evidence to clear her name.
Faith Gibson lives outside Nashville, Tennessee with the love of her life, and her four-legged best friend. She began writing in high school and over the years, penned many stories and poems.
When her dreams continued to get crazier than the one before, she decided to keep a dream journal. Many of these night-time escapades have led to a line, a chapter, and even a complete story.
When asked what her purpose in life is, she will say to entertain the masses. Even if it’s one person at a time. When Faith isn’t hard at work on her next story, she can be found reading, cooking, playing in the dirt (planting stuff) or playing with her staffy pup.
Since Faith Gibson first introduced Julian in the Stone Society series he has been a curiosity for me. I wanted to know more about the solitary male that sits behind the computer keeping the clan safe through his technology. Finally, I got to really meet the Goyle and OMG... he is swoon-worthy!
Julian knows who his mate is and she is in serious trouble. This time, he must use not only his computer skills to save her, this time he gets to leave his monitors and keyboard, get out of his lab and get his own hands dirty to rescue the woman the fates have chosen for him. Nothing will stop him from getting to her and freeing her from her captors. Julian enlists the help of his brother Nikolas and cousin Gregor as well as their mates, Sophia and Tessa, and together they devise a plan to bring his mate home.
Not only is the storyline exciting and full of adventure, but it was exciting to learn about Julian. He is, to me, one of the more sexy Goyles. The way he speaks to and interacts with his mate had my heart melting; but when they finally get the opportunity to experience each other sexually it is panty melting. The bedroom scenes in Julian are...OMG...HOTTT!
I say it every time, and every time I mean it as much as the last... I love this book and it is my new favorite in the series (well, except that Frey and now Sin will always be my tops Goyles). Julians personal storyline is exciting in itself, but then there are the other goodies intertwined throughout the book.
Faith Gibson has left me panting from the minute I read THE END. She has taken me to the edge of knowledge with the War with Alistair; fed me bits about the unknown hacker; and teased with a tad more about Uri. Her ability to tell three separate stories within one book is astounding. I recently warned someone that this series is like crack, you are hooked by Rafael and with each book you want just one more fix. I confess, I am a Stone Society junkie and Julian is my newest addiction.
I highly recommend Julian to lovers of high adventure, sexy AF alphas and overall amazing writing. I love this book and happily rate it 5 stars.
I Reviewed this book for TaSTy WordGasms Book Blog, and I have purchased a copy to keep in my treasury of Faith Gibson books.
General Synopsis: This is the ninth book in Faith Gibson's Stone Society series. Featuring: GARGOYLE shifters!
To begin this review, I am using a quote from the series. I am not going to use the spoiler link, so I tell you this now, please turn away if you feel this might ruin your enjoyment of the book.
2014: "The Mayans got it right. Almost. The bombing of Dr. Jonas Montague’s clinic in Atlanta, Georgia by a group of religious heretics set off a chain of events that left the world in a state of de-evolution. The country was divided, literally. Bombings across America caused the underground fault lines to fissure. The result was a canyon as large as the one named Grand, splitting the US of A almost exactly in half. Civil wars broke out. Governments crumbled." - Rafael
2048 New Atlanta, GA => New Abilene, TX => New Atlanta (again): His mate has been arrested on trumped up charges. Not alright, but that is okay with Julian Stone for two reasons. 1) He knows she is innocent, so he'll find who is framing her and rain hell on their @sses. 2) He knows she'll be protected as long as she's being held at the prison in New Atlanta, after all, it's run by his cousin and "brother," Gregor Stone. She's safe.
She's NOT safe! Julian is pissed. The U.S. Government have taken his mate, placing her in one of the securest prisons built since the creation of the UnHoly. They have taken his mate from him and now he has only one option, he's going to break her out.
Katherine Fox has been in dangerous situations before. As an ace reporter for the New Atlanta News, she is willing to do anything for a story. But that was before she was arrested for crimes she didn't commit. Placed in prison, but treated fairly, Julian Stone arrives and tells her he will get her out and that she is his.
Now, that is the only thought that sustains her as she is transferred to the FSM prison, in New Abilene, TX, where she is tortured for crimes she knows nothing about. Then, in the darkness, when everything seems so bleak, she hears a voice telling her he is coming for her. It's Julian Stone. Now if only she can hold on a little longer.
I ask that you check out my PO section, as I go into a little more detail on some of the reasons I really enjoy this book & series.
Characters/fu-bo list: Note: My fu-bo lists tend to be very long, which is why I have decided to start putting them under a spoiler link, but for this series, my reason for putting it under a spoiler link is explained in the PO section of my review.
Personal Opinion: Note: this is used in my previous review of Rafael, mainly because it holds true throughout the entire series. I might include additional information at the bottom, so if you have already read my ranting, please feel free to skip to the bottom to see if there is anything new. ❀.(*´◡`*)❀.
For anyone who has read my reviews in the past, you know I'm a fangirl. My fandoms keep growing, Crowley says it best!
I LOVE Gargoyles. Truth. I have been a fan since Disney's Gargoyles. In the shifter lineup, they are second in books I would love to read. Dragons of course being first, Bears now being in third, supplanted by Gargoyles because truth be told, not a lot of authors write about Gargoyles. I know E.A. Price has written a couple (and sadly, at this time, I have not read them yet, but I plan to) and Mandy M. Roth has had one in the works, but hasn't released it yet (at this time). That being said, when I first came across Faith Gibson's Gargoyle series I was super excited. How could I not be, it was like *squee* #feels #Goliath in book form ٩(*❛⊰❛)ʓਡ~❤.
So, as you can see from the very concept, I was in love with this book/series. But that is just the beginning of what I enjoy about this series. I like the concept and I have to admit I am not always a big fan of the post-apocolypse/dystopian genre, but it plays well in the world building of this series. The world might be set in 2047, but it's pretty much similar to our world now, which makes it easier to relate to I feel.
Another thing I really like about this book/series (and what I have alluded to throughout my review), is the multi-point of views this book uses to kind of give us a 3D experience while we are reading. It also allows us the reader to see where the series is heading, as in while we are reading this book, the other characters are finding their mates and their stories are beginning before we actually get a chance to pick up their book. I guess what it makes me think of is being cinematic. Things are happening on screen and off screen from what we are viewing. I do not think that is coming out correct, so let me try again. The main plot of Julian is the romance between Julian and Katherine. They, are our protagonists, while Alister, Kallisto & the possible war between the Gargoyles on one side, as well as the person or persons who framed Katherine on the other other, are our antagonists. But, as mentioned in previous reviews, the secondary characters, while this romance is developing exists and breathes (as does the looming threat of war), just like you or I, and we as readers get to see this away from that main focus. Another thing I like is as the series progresses, we get to see the relationships from the previous books continue to grow, which I feel allows is readers to continue our kinship with those we have read and enjoyed in the past. When I was trying to come up for the word "cinematic," my mind actually said "like a soap opera," but I didn't know how to explain it in that form either, *laughing* Well, I hope you get my idea. I HIGHLY recommend checking out this series, (and as I have continued the series, I can tell you it only gets better as each book continues) and of course it's not just because they feature gargoyles. I don't know, did I tell you it features gargoyles?
War is looming on the horizon for our beloved Gargoyles. I cannot lie, I am a little worried. But, on the other hand, I cannot wait until the next book is released, as it will feature Urijah & Banyan (& yes, for those of ya'll who are wondering, it will feature two men as lovers and mates).
Since Faith Gibson first introduced Julian in the Stone Society series he has been a curiosity for me. I wanted to know more about the solitary male that sits behind the computer keeping the clan safe through his technology. Finally, I got to really meet the Goyle and OMG... he is swoon-worthy!

Goddess, I love the Stone's, such a close loving family. As they prepare to go to war against his uncle Allistair after Rafael has been given the sad news that his mother Athena has willed herself to pass, Julian is fighting his own battle with his beast to rescue their mate.
Julian Stone, genius geek learns of the whereabouts and torment his soul mate Katherine is undergoing and puts her rescue into motion. It will not be easy, but nothing ever is for the mates of these honorable males. He is very aware that she may not accept his claim, but this will not change his plans of rescuing her and protecting her. His beast would have it no other way, neither would the man.
Katherine Fox reporter extraordinaire is wrongly accused and thrown into a situation she sees no escape from. She is living torments she never imagined and the only thing keeping her sane is that voice in her head that promises her escape from this torture. But it must be just her imagination playing tricks on her, dreams that she would like to see come true. Katherine learns that her life has been one big lie and only the love and devotion she receives from the sexy and very hot Julian helps her accept this truth. She finds her birth mother and the man who has been watching over her since birth and discovers from him the reason she was targeted and tortured.
In the meantime, Landon discovers the truth behind who has caused Katherine so much grief and feels like maybe he has somehow redeemed himself somewhat for all the bad things he caused the The Stone Society as his real self Achilles, while working for the evil Allistair.
Everytime I read one of these stories, I can't wait for the next.
Julian's & Katherine's story 1st focuses on getting her out of prison & her being tortured while in prison; after Julian, Tessa, Gregor & Tamian help get her out this book then is focused on them getting to know each other better.
Katherine (Katrina or Carleigh) finds out that she's more than she thinks she is & some of it makes her happy but, some of it doesn't.
Julian's role in this is mostly being supportive of Katherine & helping her cope with all of the information thrown at her in a very short time.
There is talk of war with Alistair especially when Connor gets a premonition about Athena having passed away but with a smile on her face. Uri & Banyan's relationship was skimmed over again & I would really like to know what happened in New Orleans between them. Julian's nemesis does make an appearance but not in a bad way as he was helping out their Clan undercover as he wanted to know what their Clan was like vs some others that he's been with. After he finds out who framed Katherine & putting into motion for the culprit to get what he deserves & to clear Katherine's name he decides to leave & go after his mate as being in Rafael's Clan for a short time gave him hope that he too can have happiness.
Overall this book & this series itself was very good; I don't know if there are going to be any more books in this series or not but it would be interesting to see how the war ends, if Uri & Banyan ever get over their issues & about Dane & Marley's mating.
Julian (Stone Society # 9) by Faith Gibson I cannot get enough of this series. Julian is the computer genius and hacker extraordinaire of the clan. His mate Katherine in locked up in a super max federal prison and he is determined to bust her out. The threat of war still looms between Rafael’s clan and his uncle in Greece. Julian is torn between his mate and his duty to the clan. Once again the author told a story that drew me in and had me wanting more by the end of the book. We also learned more regarding Katherine’s past and some surprises about her that really threw me for a loop. As always we get to see more about the other members of the clan. We meet new people. We get reintroduced to old members of the clan as well as catch up on all the other members of the clan as well as their mates. There is always more than one story going on at a time so I never get bored or distracted. I cannot put this book series down and usually do not get much sleep when reading these books. Once again the author’s character development in like no other. By the time I finished this book I already wanted to read the next book. There are so many characters in her book that the author could pick from several different ones and I would be satisfied. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of the book. Another 5 star read for me.
Julian is book #9 in the Stone Society Series. What can I say but, I LOVE these gargoyles. I have loved this entire series from the word go!
This book is Julian’s turn to be a star. We have seen him in previous books from this series. Julian’s mate is Katherine and Katherine is being framed for something and thrown into Federal Prison. Julian is trying to find a way to get her out. Legally or illegally. Whatever, he has to do to get her out. Now I don’t want to tell you anything more because Julian is a must read! In fact, this whole series is a must read!
While Julian isn’t my favorite of these sexy as sin Gargoyles. And, I do have a favorite but, I am not going to share who he is. I still loved this book. There are a few surprises in this book!
BTW I can never look at a Gargoyle the same way as I looked at them before I started reading the Stone Society.
I highly recommend Julian and the rest of the gang. I love Julian and this series and I hope you do as much as I do.
Here is the reading order for the Stone Society!
#1 Rafael #2 Dante #3 Nikolas #4 Jasper #5 Gregor #6 Sixx #7 Frey #8 Sin #9 Julian
I did receive an Advanced Review Copy but, I also bought this book! I give Julian 4.5 stars and I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I wonder who is next!
I love the Julian character, he has always held a special place in me. This book did him justice. You could feel him being overwhelmed with the loss of control he had while Katherine was arrested. Also, your heart broke for him each time his gargoyle would react in reaction to what Katherine experienced, while the man portion of him did not know what was happening. Yes, their was some over the top "romancing" talk, but we do not read these for the reality factor. As for Uri and Banyan, it is killing me but knowing their story. I really cannot get over how Uri could want someone else with a mate bond. From all accounts, it is supposed to make you not want anyone else and be consuming. Yet, he wants his best friend more than his mate. Hopefully, his book will explain it. I also, hope to learn more about Landon's story too. War is about to commence and I hope they take Kallisto and Alastair's heads.
I got a little frustrated that it took so long to actually get to the part where they broke Katherine out of the federal facility. As usual, this book is absolutely filled with plot holes. I am absolutely down with literary license but this author has some really obvious plot holes that could be easily avoided.
I very much like Julian but I don't feel like we get as much time with him and Katherine as a couple. They kind of hide out at his lab for most of the rest of the series. Even in this book, we don't spend enough time with them.
After finishing the entire series, I would say this book ranks about half way in how I have liked the books compared to others. The underlying story is interesting and there is plenty I do like that keeps me coming back for me but I feel like with a much better editor and a sounding board that gives honest feedback this author could do so very much better.
This is one of the best series of book I have ever read. I never get enough of those Gargoyles and their mates. This was another beautiful story of Julian and Katherine. The first part was confusing for a while because I couldn't tell for sure which baby lived. There also wasn't really much of how Julian knew Katherine......it just dove into where she was now and how Julian was going to get her. That being said, it turned into another amazing novel with all the characters I have grown to love. There are quite a few revelations I wasn't expecting. But the mate love and family devotion is as great as ever. If readers have not yet read these books, start with the first one and you'll never stop. Will wait (not so patiently) for all the rest. Faith, these books especially, never cease to amaze me.
Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a paranormal kind of girl...however there is something about these Gargoyles. Each book that Ms. Gibson writes just draws me more and more into their stories. There's drama, suspense, sexy time, moments that make you laugh and ones that make you cry, action, oh and did I mention sexy time? These Gargoyles are hot, and Mr. Smarty-Pants Julian is no exception. He's kind of been hiding in the lab behind his computers, but when Katherine needs him, there is no stopping him. There is nothing sexier than a man who goes after what he wants and has the brains and brawn to go along with it. I highly recommend this series, but would definitely suggest starting at the beginning. You won't regret it. 4.5 stars.
Julian has to figure out a way to break Katherine out of a supermax prison and clear her name. He discovers wrong doing at the prison when he reaches out telepathically to his mate. Landon is a big help in procuring information. Julian is ready to hand over the reigns of the computer lab to him. But of course we know that Landon is hiding his own big secret. I am so in love with these big, strong, protective and loving gargoyles, eventhough I would like to smack a couple upside the head for their stubbornness. I just can't read them fast enough.
Julian is book 9 in the Stone Society series and is a great addition to the series. Julian's mate Kathrine (Kat) is being held in a maximum security men's prison by the FBI and Julian with the help of family has to free her out before the torture she is enduring does permanent damage to her mind and body. Once free the real task of proving her innocent starts, is it Allister causing more issues or an evil from Kat's past coming back to haunt her but trying to remember her past is easier said then done. This book is hot and the series is a must read.
It was worth the wait! Getting reacquainted with these wonderful characters and learning more about Julian and Katherine was such a treat. There is love, laughter, family, hot sex and more interesting characters than I can keep up with. There is hope, anger, dismay, grief and joy. So many emotions in so many different plot lines. I just ate it all up and will be waiting impatiently for the next serving. Faith Gibson is a master of her craft.
I wait for each characters book and Julian just jumped ahead of all the others... I didn't want their story to end. I am so glad the minor characters are always brought back into each book.. Bravo FG for making this a favorite series of mine. There is always intrigue, personalities come into play and yes very sexy gargoyles. You won't ever be disappointed with The Stone Society ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome add to the series. If you're like me and fell in love with Julian in book 1 then this is the book for you. This was a slow build up from the beginning books since we knew these two were mates for awhile. It had twist and turns, suspense and heartfelt moments. Did not disappoint! Can't wait for the next.
Wow, so I just discovered this series and devoured all 9.5 books in 6 days! Let me just say, I cannot WAIT until Uri's story is released next. This series is fantastic! I love how Faith weaves multiple plot lines through each story, some just pertaining to that storyline and main couple and some pertaining to the major over arcing story and other couples stories. It is so engrossing!
I absolutly love the Stone society series. I have been waiting on Julian and Katherine's story for a long time. I was absolutly shocked to learn who framed her for those crimes. There is so much mystery surrounding Landon. Now I'm ready for Urijah and Banyan's story. I just know I'll be crying with their book.
Julian's mate, Katherine Fox has been locked up in a Federal SuoerMAX prison without trial and Julian wants to break her out. Her story was very involved and intriguing. This book didn't jump the story around as much as Sin, which i liked, but the next one is waiting ...
I think this was one of my favorite books by Faith so far in the series. Lots of great twists and turns. The suspense was there trying to figure out who set up Katherine and kept my attention through the end. Loved the characters they went through so much. Really good book to read and I would recommend it to readers who like lots of twists and turns.
For the next book. Faith Gibson has once again penned an awesome "chapter" in the lives of the hottest gargoyles ever. Julian and his family rally to rescue his mate from a horrific situation while the clan prepares for war.
I can't recommended this series highly enough... Great characters that follow through out the series. Wonderful plot twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Love this series
I love Julian and Kats story. I have loved this series from the beginning and it just gets more exciting with each book. Can't wait to dive into the next. Must read for everyone.
I really enjoy this series. All the connections and the family and how much they care and love each other. This one was fun because the H and h didn’t spend the whole book together since the H has to rescue the h first.
The trials and tribulations of these mates are not for the faint of heart. However, our heroes always rise to the occasion. Sexy Julian did just that. A great read
