Abducted from her world and dropped onto his, she's as alien to him as he is to her. That doesn't mean they can't have some fun with their differences. Semeera needs a plan for starting her life over. After divorcing a controlling husband, she’s ready to enjoy freedom at last. Too bad she gets abducted by aliens before she can decide her next move. Captain Kader is an alien warrior trapped in a dead-end assignment where he will never see battle again. There are no more challenges to his life, no chances for glory. And then a dangerous experiment brings him an unexpected visitor who changes everything. They are as different from each other as night and day, but those differences only entice Semeera and Kader into finding out just how physically compatible they are. What should have been a little fun causes the resurgence of a disease long thought extinguished. If Semeera triggered it in Kader, will others succumb? And will the scientists be able to get past Kader to find out? Most importantly, can a beautiful black woman really love an alien male with scales, claws, and a tail? Title is 69,000 words with an HEA. No cliffhangers. No cheating.
Zenobia Renquist is the alter ego of D. Reneé Bagby. Friends call her Renee. An Air Force brat turned Air Force (retired) wife, she has lived in multiple countries and states before settling in Maryland. She’s an avid world-builder who loves torturing her characters on the way to happily ever after or happily for the moment. When not concocting new ways to give her characters a hard time, she enjoys crocheting, reading isekai and danmei, watching anime, and bingeing C-dramas and K-dramas in the historical and fantasy genres.
The heroine, Sameera, is celebrating with friends, post her divorce, when she's zapped up by a purple beam at the group's campsite. Initially terrified of the lizard-like alien beings she's faced with, she eventually calms down under the patience and reassurance of the Captain of the ship, Kader. From that moment on, Kader gently woos Sameera, until she's in his bed and heart. That love is tested when Sameera feeks betrayed by Kader. While the betraying is understandable, and Nader is repentant, I felt Sameeras let her indignation go on too long. But, they eventually reconcile and get their happily ever after.
Overall, the author does a great job building up to the relationship between Kader and Sameera. They're attracted to each other early on, but the author allows them to get to know each other. And when they come together, in the author's usual fashion, the sex scenes are explosive and steamy. This is one of the longest books by this author I've read and it was time well spent. So much so, I'm adding it to my favorites kindle folder. I highly recommend.
I've always loved how Zenobia thinks outside of the box with her stories. And I just say that I've missed her. Sameera and Kader's story is one that accidentally reaches across the stars as she's abducted on accident by Kader's scientists. And in and effort to learn more about the previously unencountered humans, one thing leads to another as Sameera and Captain Kader face their new found attraction for each other.
Wow... honestly... I have always loved scifi but was more than a little nervous and intimidated to get on the alien romance express. But I saw this one on Katrina Jackson's stories and couldn't resist! It was an utter delight - if completely bonkers romp. There is alien abduction, low key human experimentation and a hero with a legit tail. Human and lizard interpersonal relations are new to me - but not going to lie... probably won't be the last.
Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Tropes: fated mates, mating bond, alien abduction, human experimentation, opposites attract, Only With You For Fans Of: Star Trek or Rebecca Zanetti paranormals Subgenre: contemporary romance/ scifi romance CW/ TW: low key drunken sex (borderline consenual but it seems like it really was??), alien abduction/ kidnapping, toxic spouse (previous relationship), trauma, slut shaming,
Overall this story was good. I liked how Sameera didn’t put up too much of a fight to love Kader, however I didn’t like how she let her so called friends keep insulting her in the end. I think this novel could have easily gone another 10 plus chapters because it felt as if the author was trying to find the shortest exit home. Instead of allowing the plot to build up, by taking her time and working out the details, such as the lying, friends, not being able to go back to Kader’s home, kids, etc... I would have enjoyed reading extra chapters devoted to working out those details instead of rushing to the end in the final chapters.
This is a really great book. I enjoyed it from beginning to end and couldn't put it down. I admit I enjoyed the fact that the male was an alien the whole way through. He didn't morph into a human to appease the heroine and she loved him as he was. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good read to pass a lazy Saturday with.
Alien Mate Experiment popped up in my recommendations and it sounded interesting, So I downloaded a sample because I’m cheap and I didn’t want to pay for a bad read. Twenty minutes in I went ahead and purchased it.
Love the characters, the writing was fast paced and funny...I had many chuckles reading it. Definitely would recommend this book.
A few surprises, good characters, lizard people, little grey men, and alien abduction. The reader never got to visit another world but we orbited a world that had not encountered humans before. The author made the world believable.
Semeera and Kader, different species but found love anyway. I was hoping they'd find a way to have children and thanks to another alien race, they do and get their HEA after all!
Sorry but books where the alien lead goes bananas for a Human female because of his genetics sending him into a rut, often don’t work for me. Plus this book had a superficiality to it that just didn’t work for me.
I finished this book in 1 day, the author kept the book interesting from the beginning to the end and not to mention the characters it’s so easy to love them, so happy I found this book can’t wait to find others similar to this one ❤️.
Really very good. I really liked the characters and how the story flowed. I loved the detail of the lizard people. Well done. I would like more of this story line
