Lead Dragon

Rate this book
Lead, captain of an elite team of powerful dragons, is about to embark on the most difficult mission he's ever undertaken: trying not to fall in love with the cute, curvy woman he saved and is now tasked with protecting. But how is he supposed to do that when everything inside the honor-obsessed dragon roars "mate" whenever he sees her?

Brittany is just a regular human. She never expected to be kidnapped by wolves or for six ridiculously hot dragon shifters to rescue her. But there's one dragon, with bright golden eyes, dark hair and the composure of a warrior that she can't seem to stop thinking about. Especially while she's living in a mansion with him and his sexy friends.

As the sexual tension between them rises like dragon flame, Lead and Brittany will have to navigate the blurred lines of duty and integrity in a world that is only getting more confusing with each passing day. And with a sinister new evil on the horizon, Lead may need to reconsider what honor really means if he wants to protect his mate.

I just love this author

I love the way this author makes reading her books easy, relaxing, stress free, and fun. This is the first of this series and just like all her series, it doesn’t disappoint with character development, plot points, and romance. Gawd. I’m so in love with these dragons, though admittedly, Arsenic is my favorite. Yum.

Fascinating and sexy as ever. I love all this authors books, but her dragon books are especially enjoyable. I really like the off world slant on the first in this series within a series. I love the off world dragons. I found Brittany, the human love interest, to be kind and gentle but no push over. This couple is one of my favorite in the dragon series.

Oh dear. The traveling to other worlds subgenre to the Paranormal Romance genre for some reason never has the highest caliber of writing. In fact, this is pretty good writing comparitively, but that's not saying a whole lot. Still the story was interesting enough that I will try one more book.

Chivalry isn't dead, it's Lead!

Poor Lead Dragon! He's from Drakkaris, but is now tasked with leading the Dragon Guard on Earth. Their mission: learn to fit in, eventually find human mates, and save the dragons of Drakkaris from the poisons that are slowly killing them. The Oracle has them holed up in a safe house, protecting beautiful Brittany from the wyverns. Only Lead wants to do much more than protect her... How can an honorable dragon want to do such deliciously dis-honorable things to his mate? WAIT!! His MATE?? Terry Bolryder's dragons never disappoint, and Lead's story is a treat to read from start to finish.

The alien dragons have come to Earth!! Six of the dragon guards from Drakkaris have come to Earth to help the oracle's side in the upcoming war and to hopefully find human mates. If a Drakkaris dragon doesn't find a mate, his metal can poison him and kill him but there are very few female dragons on Drakkaris. Lead is the leader of the Dragon Guards who has lived his whole like being honorable and doing great deeds. Here on Earth, he is stuck in a mansion waiting on orders from the oracle. The guards first action was to be sent in to rescue a dragon heart human female who was being held captive by wolf shifters. Once she is rescued, they are to bring her back to the mansion and protect her until decisions can be made about her future. The guards rescue Brittany who is shocked and confused by events. The dragons are excited to have a female around who could be a mate or one who could just help them understand human women.
Brittany life was a mess. She was held prisoner by wolf shifters whom she had never known existed. The wolves are lewd and crude except for one who seems to be protecting her. When that wolf warns her she is to be rescued and that she should chose a dragon to protect her, she is very confused. Then she is rescued by a hot man named Lead who makes her feel safe again. The dragons explain to Brittany who they are and what they are Earth to do. Brittany is repeatedly shocked by the dragons who do not act like any men she is used to. She is drawn to Leasd who seems very protective of her. She wishes their relationship could go a little further but Lead keeps pushing her away talking about being dishonorable.
Lead is very torn by his feelings for Brittany. He has a great need to protect her and claim here but he knows that the oracle hasn't said it was okay to claim her. Acting on his feelings for her without knowing if it was okay to mate her is very dishonorable in his culture. The shocking thing is that the very honorable Lead is reaching the point her would do anything to get his mate, even if it is dishonorable.
I loved this story especially when lead decided his feelings were more important than his honor. The alien dragons are so lost in the human world, it is funny to watch them interact.

Wolves, dragons, and magic, oh my!

Lead is a captain of his alien dragon team brought to Earth to find human mates to bond with before they die literally from the inside out. However, Lead has always been the strongest warrior when it came to only doing things he believed to be honorable. So when they rescue a human female, Brittany, he thinks of everything that he would do to her that would be deemed dishonorable. But that doesn’t stop Brittany from pushing him to his limits.

The story between them two is definitely a push and pull relationship with feelings that would be considered real for the readers. The only thing that I wished there was more of is climatic buildup and true struggles when it came to the “dangers” and action scenes. Seemed like everything was too easy and not really a “problem” when it was dealt with by the dragons. I get that they are all powerful, but still as an author I would have wanted Lead to physically fit more for Brittany rather than just literally two pages of “clang clang with my manly sword” and then the next 2 chapters are about Lead blaming himself for being dishonorable and Brittany trying to get Lead to jump her bones through any means necessary. So.. the story would have been 5 stars if there was real action for the dragon warriors to see their metals at work in a fight scene.

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

I will be frank and admit that I was hesitant on the alien dragon aspect of this next series. Shifters, yes… but I’m not a reader of alien romances, I don’t know that I ever will be and that’s okay, we all like different things. Yet I’ve found that the dragons of Drakkaris are so very similar to other dragons of Ms Bolryder that I’ve enjoyed over time that I had little to worry about. In fact, many of the things these dragons do not know about our planet are quite amusing, and I’m certain will continue to be so.

When Lead and the other guard dragons came through the portal with Marina and Mercury their purpose was two-fold. Most importantly was to aid in the coming war between good and bad shifters on Earth. Secondly was to have the chance to find a mate among the human women they might encounter. Back home the female dragon population is so scarce that honor challenges decide, in part, who will win a lady’s favor. With the natural poisons running through their bodies, eventually without a mate each dragon will die of his own poison… so finding a mate, or at least the chance to was a huge part of each dragon’s decision to leave their home world.

The first mission the oracle sends them on is to rescue a special woman kidnapped by the evil wolves. Simple, straight forward and natural for these dragons – except there were a few surprises among them that Brittany would pick one dragon to be her protector from the first meeting… and that dragon would in fact be her mate. What follows is a crash course in all things human, including understanding human women, and watching Lead make mistake after mistake with Brittany through his concept of honor. Misunderstandings galore will be an every day occurrence. Brittany has chosen her dragon but she’s not understanding why he isn’t making her his choice as well. Their troubles come from not understanding how a person from another planet views certain words and actions. It takes a huge misunderstanding, and a near tragedy before Lead and Brittany finally understand that each does in fact pick the other for life.

I enjoyed Lead Dragon very much, and Lead and his mate, Brittany were perfect to start us off. A story full of danger and laughter, learning and loving, and plenty of sexy times as well. I liked them as a couple, and I loved getting to know the other dragons a bit better as well.

After finishing Lead Dragon a few thoughts come to mind – and I’ll have to be vague because I hate spoilers. Things to watch for in this series for me will be Marina’s increasing role and keeping an eye out for an undercover-ish wolf named Fifi. I am a reader who looks for future possibilities in every story I read – and I see a lot in this first story of the Dragon Guard of Drakkaris series. Now to sit back, enjoy, and watch it all unfold. I’d definitely recommend Lead Dragon and this series. Because of the threads woven throughout these connecting series I feel pretty strongly that you need to at least have read the Awakened Sea Dragons series to fall into this one. There are glimpses of what is unfolding now in the previous series. So if you cannot go back to the beginning, try to go back one connecting series.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Terry's Dragons are always an entertaining read. Even though this can be read as a stand alone book (there are re-occurring characters from previous series), for the best understanding of who these new dragons really are, it would be better to read Aquamarine where they play a very large part of the story.

Even though Lead and Brittany have an instant connection to each other, the story has Brittany spending time with the other dragons, getting to know them and helping them adjust to life on Earth. These metal dragons are slowly being poisoned by their own metal and need a mate to save their lives - thankfully, being on Earth has slowed the effect of the poisoning giving them some time to help the Oracle and find their mate. All of the dragons are given plenty of page time to help further develop their characters. The Drakkaris dragons are on Earth to help the Oracle in the shifter war that has been steadily building since the Lions of Pride Island series. The tactic of kidnapping dragon-hearts has escalated and this story really shows the magnitude of the Oracle's problems. Overall, it is a great set-up for the new series and I look forward to the stories for Chromium, Cadmium, Cobalt, Arsenic, and Zinc (I really hope Zinc's story comes sooner rather than later - Terry has really twisted my heartstrings with his character and I can't wait for his story).

I received a copy from the author and honestly reviewed this book. I love Terry's Dragons (EVERY single book - in every single series) the most of all of her books but all of her series are well written and well edited and tell entertaining stories - a strong alpha that will cherish and protect his mate and all others, some sex, and most importantly, a fantastic story that will keep you glued to your e-reader.

Yipee, more yummy dragons. Lead and his cohorts were featured in the last book with Marina and Mercury as Marina had to allow them all to compete for the privilege of being her mate. Due to isthe lack of females on their home planet these dragons have agreed to come to Earth and help in the fight against the wolves and wyverns in exchange for the chance to meet a human mate.

Brittany is a dragon-heart who has been captured by wolves with the hope of drawing out dragon rescuers. Fortunately, one of the wolves is willing to risk exposure to allow her to be freed. Lead and his team move in and bring her safely back to the mansion where they are staying and now she must decide whether she wants to have her memory wiped and be returned to her former life, or stay and possibly find a dragon mate.

Lead does not understand why he feels so drawn to Brittany, but he is an honorable dragon and will not do anything to dishonor himself or her. Or will he? Can he really stand by as his fellow dragons do their best to win over the beautiful human, or will he throw caution to the winds and follow where his dragon leads? Find out. Can't wait for the next one.

I was given a copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Gotta love dragons and what could be better than dragon shifters!

Lead and his dragon guard have moved from the planet Drakkaris to New York. They will be the Oracle's dragon SWAT team. Their first mission is to rescue kidnapped Brittany. Lead is attracted to her right away, but his honor won't let him act on it right away. His mixed signals are confusing to Brittany. Since she is the first humans girl they have met, none of them understand what is going on.

I love these stories for the great characters, steamy scenes, funny situations, some action, and well...dragons! If those are things that you like in your stories as well, you will enjoy this one. I would recommend reading the series in order, though. It starts with the Double Dragon series and the Tiger Protector series, if you want a little different steamy. But if you don't want that, you can read the Awakened Dragons series, Rent-a-Dragon series, Date-a-Dragon series, Awakened Sea Dragon series, and then this one. I think that's all of them. They do follow in order and you see the main characters in following stories. I love that. Now on to the next one. However, I think you should have Znc find his mate next, Terry Bolryder, and make her need him as much as he needs her, please!

Lead is all about honor which makes him the perfect captain for the dragon guard. Lead, along with the rest of the dragon guard come to earth to find their mates in exchange for serving the oracle in protecting mankind. Their first mission, rescue a kidnapped dragonheart from the wolf shifters, dragonhearts are women of extraordinary courage and are usually mates of dragons. Brittany has had a bit of a stressful time, she’s been kidnapped, found out shifters are real and now the sexiest guy she’s ever seen is rescuing her and is apparently a dragon. The dragon guard takes Brittany back to the mansion to protect and Brittany has to make a choice, stay in this new world she has found herself in or allow her memories to be wiped and return to her old life. Brittany has decided she wants Lead and isn’t afraid to chase him, Lead has known nothing but sacrificing his wants for the greater good and there is nothing he wants more then Brittany. Lead has to make a decision on whether he makes himself miserable and gives up his mate for honor and the greater good or for once do something for himself and claim the woman he loves.

Dragons - more deliciously dangerous dragons!
A threat of war between Earth’s shifters brings counter measures by the Oracle. The Dragon Guard of Drakkaris were brought to Earth to find human mates. In the mean time, they’ll be sent to rescue women held hostage by other shifters.
Oh, my! There are six fine-looking dragon shifters freshly arrived from another planet. All friendly, protective, great personalities (well, mostly), and astonishingly fit. Both Lead and Brittany are struggling with their attraction for each other. To Lead, being honorable is the essence of who he is, and he’s a bit rigid because of it. Brittany is a brave woman with inner strength, a forthright character; she’s friendly and outgoing, and dares to take the initiative. It is fun watching as their attraction builds into something far more. Each have doubts, though, that cause quite a few headaches (and heartaches) for them. It’s a delightful story of discovery and love - with more than enough danger-filled action for the Dragon Guards. I am SO looking forward to the rest of these dragons finding their mates!

4.5 stars!

The metal dragons of Drakkaris are on Earth to learn the ways of humans and find their mates. Lead, the honorable leader of the Dragon Guard, and his men-at-arms are called upon to rescue a dragon-heart human female being held by a pack of wolves.

Brittany has been kidnapped and is being held captive by wolf shifters. But her adventure truly begins when she's rescued by dragons. Scared, and yet intrigued by these alien dragons, Brittany builds a friendship with them all, but feels a connection with Lead. As Lead tries to overcome his definition of honorable when it comes to Brittany, she tries to understand the mixed signals he keeps sending.

The camaraderie of the Guard is tight, fun, and deep... all very important as they gear up to confront the evil that appears to be on the horizon.

A very exciting start to Ms. Bolryder's next dragon adventures! I cannot wait for the rest of them to find mates. I look forward to the next installment from the Dragon Guard.

A lack of females on their world has team of six metal-named dragons, led by captain Lead and directed by the Oracle, are looking to find human mates Their study via books, TV and internet pays off when they practice on Brittany a woman they rescue. But Brittany only has eyes for Lead who’s too wrapped in his honor to let his emotions and actions go wild.

The other dragons of the household flex the qualities, hoping Brittany will choose them but Lead jealously tells them keep their distance though he’s at a loss about the feelings he has for her and constantly battles his sense of honor when he’s around her. Brittany, however, is well aware what the feelings are and is willing to make the first move.

Maybe it’s me but this not exactly ‘fish out of water’ tale felt a bit stilted and I’m not exactly sure if it was too insular or too confusing overall, about where exactly ‘here’ is, among other things.

Seriously need to read this author

Lead is the leader of the metal dragon guard. They have to rescue a dragon-hearted human who was kidnapped by wolves. As soon as he laid eyes on her his dragon craved her. Lead is considered the most honorable dragon in the guard so he won't persue her until he has permission from the oracle. Well, at least he tries not to, but everytime someone touches her his dragon goes crazy.
We also have some new enemies appearing in this story. We get a hint as to what they are but not who they are or where they are from. Needless to say, the dragon guard had a couple battles in this book and will probably have many more as they search for their mates and protect Earth.
I truly recommend this authors books. I have read everyone and have not been disappointed. She writes different shifter books but the dragons are my favorite.

Lead Dragon Rules!!!!

Lead and Brittany are written to perfection. Terry Bolryder writes every book asif it was the last one. Her character development and her storyline supports her characters. How much more of a alpha dragon can you get then Lead. He is a warrior dragon who honor, loyalty and devotion to a causechasbeen how he has lived his entire life. To watch him struggle with his love for Brittany and how he truly feels he has dishonored her made my heart cry. The struggle is real and as he flounders he hurts the one he loves. The secondary characters in this book really lead credence to the story since they would all take Brittany as their own. The HEA ending is on point as well. When your read a book by Bolryder you know exactly what to expect and she never disappoints.

I love Terry Bolryder’s books. They are suspenseful, action packed and filled with great characters that have to learn to work and love each other in order to find their happily ever after. Lead Dragon, book 1 of Terry’s new Dragon Guard of Drakkaris series, is no exception. Lead, the hero, was introduced to readers in book 3 of the Awakened Sea Dragons series and I was hoping that he would get his own book. He was such a good and honourable dragon who deserved his own HEA. Brittany, the heroine of the book, is a great match for him, and I love how she pushes him to let loose and push his boundaries and rules. I loved reading Lead Dragon, its exciting with a great love story. I enjoyed all the details about the new dragons and the brewing shifter wars. I can’t wait to read more about Lead’s friends as they find their own mates.

Omg goodness!!

I love love love this book!!! It was perfect!!❤️😍 i think this series is the best so far!! I mean i loved her other books like the awakened dragons and awakened sea dragons but this one just outdid it!!!! So much humor!!! I mean it had action and romance but the “bromance” was amazing! You get sic sexy dragons from another planet trying to adapt To earth and find mates. And in the process learn everything about earth. First mission was to save and protect a human and the rest is history. So much laughter and cuteness overload! ! I was smiling ear to ear and laughing so much for their brute sincerity and honesty. It was too good! I wasn’t expecting this.. it had sexy chemistry and sexy live scenes but i love the books that cam make you laugh out loud and this was amazing! Can’t wait for the rest of he books!

Lead was the Captain of the Guard, the most loyal honorable of dragons. Tasked to rescue and guard a human female, Brittany, he knew he couldn't let his feelings for her loose. They'd come to earth to both rescue human females and hopefully find mates. It wasn't just a want but a physical need. Unmated dragon's bodies poison after a time. The only cure finding their mate.
Now he was chosen to guard her, but who was guarding her against him. She was his mate, yet why did he deserve her more than his friends.
When danger intervenes will he still hold back?
I love this planet of Dragons. These six dragon guys are funny, loyal and needy. They are all challenged to remain a team and avoid the jealousy and need they all feel.
Another winner from the author.

The Hot First Alien Dragon Shifter Love Story

This new series continues the main storyline from the Aquamarine Awakened Sea Dragon. It's hilarious to watch the six alien dragons to start to adjust to Earth and women there. Lead is the captain of the guard and honor has always been his first priority, never allowed to express his feelings. Now his too strict sense of honor may come in the way of him finally finding true love and happiness. Is it possible for an alien dragon shifter to mate with an Earth human, or will the enigmatic oracle even allow it? The female protagonist Brittany is left somewhat superfluous, it would have been better to have her been developed a little more. A very surprising new enemy appears, and I am sensing a really interesting story there.

True Love

Fated mates Brittany and Lead will warm your hear in this action romance, I couldn't stop reading.
After coming to Earth to find mates for these dragons, time was moving too slow. Then the oricle came to them with a mission. To safe a dragon heart. Dragon hearts are special women, able to mate with dragons.
With the Honor Gaurd protecting others is their job.
When the group of dragons breaks into a wolf shifter bunker, fighting is inevitable. But they find the woman and rescue her.
Brittany is a dragon heart and everyone is surprised when she turns out to be fated to the Captain of the Dragons.
Sometimes things happen at the right time.
And for Lead, his happiness is the first for all of them

I was a little disappointed that the author didn't give as much background info on Brittany, our heroine, as she has done with heroines in past books. There are barely any details about Brittany's life and the reader doesn't get them until halfway through the book. That would be acceptable if the author was revealing some sort of twist, but they are just mundane background details that don't affect the plot.

Despite the one-dimensional heroine, I enjoyed this first installment of a series about dragons from space. The dynamic of friends living together and working together is one of my favorites to read about. As I've said before, these books are like popcorn to me and I can't wait to read about all the other dragons finding their mates.

I was very excited for this dragon series since it has dragons from another world center stage. I love seeing the differences and similarities. Of course the element of pressing need was present in order to tie in with preceding stories but it’s the curiosity to know what will make this book unique compared to those that came before that sparks my need to consume these pages. And this author delivered once more! The six new dragons were introduced flawlessly with Lead taking center stage. Their intro into Earth and pursuit of their goal will truly entertain you. Can’t give away this books secrets and surprises, but definitely can say, I am once again a happy reader
