Nissa Alexander returns to Bear Paw River ten pounds and one boyfriend lighter with an attitude screaming 'Leave me the hell alone'. The last thing she needs is her older brother, the Alpha, lecturing her about settling down and true mates. Hell, he doesn’t even have his own mate, so he has no right to talk.
And then, there’s the hunky bad boy, who’s working a missing person’s case in her neck of the woods. He needs to stop sniffing around before someone gets hurt. Nissa’s heart has been trampled on enough these past few years. She is absolutely not going to fall for this lone wolf. Not gonna happen. But her bear isn’t taking no for an answer.
Zach Werner is on the hunt. But this time, it’s not for a predator or a bad guy to bring to justice. His job is to find a missing woman. Why the Florida wolf pack is paying so much money to find this female, Zach doesn’t know. And he doesn’t care. His job is his life. At least, until he meets Nissa. After a brief tangle in the woods, Zach knows this curvy beauty is his mate.
Can he convince her he’s the wolf for her and stay alive long enough to finish the job?

I really enjoyed this storyline, paranormal is my first love so I'm kinda picky about my go to authors! I do believe I will be adding this author to my list! Now on to the story..... Nissa has been trying to live her life in the human world after a very bad experience with shifters. Unfortunately for her that didn't work out like she wanted and now she's home, trying to reconnect with her bear. Zach is a Tracker just doing his job when they meet unexpectedly and he has no intention of having a Mate mess up his plans! Too bad his Wolf has other plans! What happens when stubborn meets denial? Well I'd tell you but that would ruin all the fun now wouldn't it? Gonna have to read and see what happens cause we get hot sexy scenes, some funny, some sad and also some hot Alpha goodies in the form of Nissa's brother!!
A fabulous first novel by Ms. Clark. A very sexy shifter story. I really liked this one. Great characters that are fun to read about, well written and loved the premise. I read a lot of romance books and the genre is so full of cliches and stock scenes - even in paranormal romance. It's refreshing to read a story that has none of those things, a story that tackles new circumstances and subjects. I would highly recommend this wonderful book to everyone.
What might it be like to live in a world so totally foreign to you that you had to deny the very essence of who you are? That's what's happened to Nissa Alexander, a bear shifter who flees to the big city, escaping what she considers to be an intolerable existence. She denies her bear, her basic nature. And it takes a heavy toll on her psyche and spirit. The ultimate betrayal by her so-called boyfriend and her roommate/best friend destroy her. She builds even thicker and harder to breach walls around herself, her heart, her very soul. With nothing left, she returns home in what she considers to be shame, a far cry from the woman she was when she left. Now her bear will hardly speak to her, much less allow her to shift. Her Alpha brother, Bo, is none too happy with her actions, although he gladly welcomes her back. But what's a shifter to do when her bear turns her back on her, when she's unable to shift? Enter Zack Werner. He's a super tracker, a wolf shifter with incredible abilities. Why his current assignment has led him to Bear Paw River is totally beyond him, but he knows better than to question the Mother Goddess when she guides him. He has an agenda, a drive to find someone more precious than gold to him. His frustration with his lack of progress drives him to help others in the hope that the Mother Goddess will help him find what he so desperately needs. When Nissa and Zack meet quite by chance in the meadows outside town, sparks fly. The attraction is so intense that Zack's wolf immediately howls, "Mate!" Nissa's bear is no less certain about her feelings either. But the human sides of both deny the soul-deep attraction their animal selves feel. Then, out of nowhere, Zack's mission implodes! Chaos ensues. There are others who have deep and nefarious purposes of which no one in Bear Paw River is aware. When those forces put not only Nissa and Zack in mortal danger, but also threaten the residents of the town, the family and friends Nissa has known all her life, what can anyone do? Can Nissa find it within herself to tear down her inner walls? Is she even capable of letting her bear out? Will Zack be able to admit his feelings for Nissa? What can he do to protect an entire town and his mate from such evil? Will anything make a difference? The cruelty and maliciousness bearing down on Bear Paw River is intent on success. at any cost. One thing is absolutely clear. Unless Zack and Nissa can pull learn to cooperate and work together, those who are so determined to destroy everyone and everything in Bear Paw River just might succeed!
Everleigh Clark is another new author for me. This book is delightful. I loved it from beginning to end. Ms. Clark writes other romances under another pen name, and this is a new direction for her. She has nailed it with this first book in this new series. I absolutely feel in love with Zack, Nissa, Bo, and every other character in this story. The emotions are gripping and real. I felt the agony of Nissa's loss, her struggle to find herself again, and the fear, desperation, despair, hope, love, and joy of finding family and self. Zack's an enigma I loved puzzling out. There's nothing about this story that I didn't love, from the constant suspense surrounding Nissa's and Zack's potential love to the total mystery of who's behind the evil stalking Bear Paw River. This book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, and there are definitely more books coming in the series. Everleigh Clark has done a superb job of creating a totally believable world where anything and everything is possible. Kudos, Ms. Clark! Job very well done!
One final note. Please be an informed reader and consumer! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, think hard before buying any book you know you won't enjoy. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and all booksellers' websites. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the author. She works extremely hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to the book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.
Nissa is a bear shifter who has been repressing her bear because she is scared she will go feral. Zach is a wolf shifter who hunts people for others who want them found. When they find each other, sparks fly but Nissa is still resisting her bear and her Mate! Danger is in the woods and is stalking Nissa. Will Zach be able to save her. The story was really good and it flowed well. Was a bit short but that's okay. Now I want Nissa's brothers story, Bo!! He's the Alpha of the bear clan. Will be waiting for this one!!
HUGE EMOTIONS LIKE AROUSAL, FEAR, ANGER AND LOVE HELLP TRIGGER THE ANIMAL’S RELEASE
I am already a huge fan of this author under a different pen name, and as Everleigh Clark, she did not disappoint. Things I come to expect in her stories include some mystery, suspense, angst, playfulness and that wonderful quirkiness in her characters. She definitely included those traits in her new paranormal shifter series, along with acceptance of who her character is, and embracing that part of herself. As a series junkie, I am especially happy to see that this is part of a series but will read as a stand-alone. While the story ends nicely, it is also an intro to the next story in the series.
The plot will have Nissa Alexander returning to Bear Paw River after a devastating breakup with her boyfriend who cheated on her with what had been her best friend and roommate. She has been hiding in the city to avoid herself, or should we say her bear. Witnessing what family could do for greed and power has her running away from her bear clan. Now she has come back home to her clan, but having trouble releasing her bear again.
Meeting Zach Werner, a wolf shifter, comes as a shock. Why is a wolf in bear country and why is her inner bear screaming “mate?” Zach is a tracker and working to locate another missing she-wolf and hopefully get her back to her pack. He is also always on the search for his missing younger sister too. “I’m kind of like a private investigator for the paranormal community. My current job is to find a female wolf, like I told you this morning.”
The chemistry between Zach and Nissa comes to life on the pages and sizzles when they are together. Both are from strong family lines, including Alpha lineage. “His wolf wanted to beckon her bear forward to play with her, show her how to romp and enjoy the freedom of her animal side.” Nissa has been suppressing her bear and her Alpha brother, Bo, is determined she will get her back, and Zach has become her cheerleading squad in her endeavor. “I just want to help you find your bear again. She’s obviously still in there, waiting for you.”
What is holding Nissa back from allowing her bear freedom? Is it what she witnessed years before among family members? “I think our animal sides protect us; they empathize with what we need naturally.” “That’s because you’re second-guessing your instincts because of your human side—our animals aren’t the enemy; it’s our human side that brings out the ugly stuff like jealousy and hunger for power.”
I look forward to learning more about what will become of Zach and Nissa. His dominance of her is exactly what she needs and craves. He understands her, refuses to allow her to hide, and encourages her to embrace herself, both in human and bear form. The story has many intimate scenes that are somewhat explicit.

He understands her, refuses to allow her to hide, and encourages her to embrace herself, both in human and bear form. The story has many intimate scenes that are somewhat explicit.
The day after her 18th birthday, Nissa had escaped pack life and the fear of losing herself; for 2-years she has suppressed her other side, so never worried about turning into a monster. After Brian’s betrayal, Nissa returns to Bear Paw, but Bo, Nissa’s older brother and the Alpha of their pack, insists she practice her shifting; did she really want to change into the one thing she had run from for so long. Nissa’s bear is angry for being ignored and didn’t want to come forward yet. Zach is the eldest son of an Alpha, while his mother is the Royal Princess of Herne. His father wants to groom him to take over the pack, but his mother wants to give him the throne. For the past 15-months, tracking has been the only job he has known. Bo has given Zach permission to track on his land; he is looking for a missing woman, a wolf, but he has also made a vow to find his younger sister and every case brought him one step closer to finding her. This was Zach’s fifth job but it felt like the most important; the most crucial. Zach’s wolf had led him here to Bear Paw river and bears, lots of bears, but why would a wolf come to a bear community. If she is hiding, what is she hiding from? From the moment Nissa and Zach meet they know they are mates, but Nissa isn’t ready and Zach didn’t want to settle down with a mate either; he has too much to do. A mate for Zach means going back and forgetting his vows and responsibilities and Nissa isn’t sure she wants to embrace the wildness inside of her again. Zach wonders if Nissa knew how close her bear was to the surface; young and with an innocent air about her, she confuses Zach’s senses. Zach takes note of the lion scent and wonders why there is a lion in Bear Paw; he had followed the faint lion’s scent into bear territory but something had felt off about it. Plenty of different types of shifters lived in and near this town, but no lions; his wolf’s instincts bellowed for him to investigate further. Why had his instincts led him here on his search for the missing female wolf and did they have anything in common was the lion connected to the female? Nissa told Zach about how her Father and Uncle fought all the time; her Uncle Stuart growing more aggressive over the years leading to the eventual death of her parents. Nissa believes their animal sides were at fault; she didn’t trust the animal inside her and thinks it will only make her lose control. Nissa is not afraid of Zach, she is afraid of the shift and is a shell of what she once was because of the two men who should have protected her. Zach gives Nissa a little push to bring her bear out. Then with a whoosh of air, a gorgeous black bear stood on all four paws in front of him; his mate in her most perfect, most natural form. Zach’s wolf obviously loves this game of chase as much as her bear and Nissa wants to truly let go of all her fears and accept the mating call. Suddenly, it all becomes clear to Nissa and she understands; she has been wrong about her animal and she is not the enemy. It is the human side that brings out jealousy and hunger for power. Zach’s wolf and Nissa’s bear were saying they were meant to be together since their first meeting. It is Nissa’s human side that let fear dictate her emotions. Nissa might not want Zach watching out for her but he will; what he cannot understand is why a lion is on the trail of his mate. There are quite a few twists and turns that makes this an interesting shifter story and one I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this book I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy of this book that I received through Shifted Sheets Book Promotions.
Nissa has been denying her shifter heritage for a while now. She’s denied her bear her ability to shift, kept her voice quiet for so long now that when she wants to find her bear she is bearly felt. This is what she wanted, to live in the human world far away from Shifters. For Nissa knows first hand what can happen when one’s animal gets out of control. Yet, the human world held nothing but heartache and more betrayals for Nissa. She’s returned home and at the insistence of her brother, her alpha, she is trying to win back her bear. Only now her bear is turning her back on Nissa. She needs to find peace with her bear once more but has no idea how to go about it now.
Zach is a wolf shifter well known for his tracking abilities. He’s made a living of tracking people down, and right now he is in the middle of the hunt for a woman who someone wants to find very badly. There’s something else going on there, but unless it interferes with his task he’ll let it go. What he cannot let go is the knowledge of a beautiful woman in the woods obviously having troubles with her shifting abilities. It’s not helping the situations one little bit to discover that this lovely bear shifter is his mate. Finding her couldn’t have come at a worse time.
Bearly Shifted sets the stage for the Mates of Bear Paw River series. There is a thread, hints running through this first story that give us some idea of what the ongoing danger will be within this series. It looks intriguing. For now, we have Zach and Nissa. Neither one looking for their mate, one terrified of of giving her shifter side freedom, the other worried about what finding his one mate will do to his own future plans. Steamy, snarky, and definitely an interesting couple, Nissa and Zach lay the groundwork and give us a compelling story to follow. I enjoyed this couple – their coming together was certainly full of issues, but at the base they need each other. Actually hoping to watch their relationship deepen throughout the series as secondary characters.
I would recommend Bearly Shifted to any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader. Interesting plot, unique characters and the threat of danger to come… just my kind of Shifter Romance.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription
I've never been a huge fan of the paranormal, I suppose it has to do with my upbringing. So when the opportunity to read Bearly Shifted came up, I was a little hesitant but took on the challenge anyway.
Nissa is a young shifter who has just come out of a long-term relationship with a man who did not appreciate what he had. Searching for her place in the world and the society of shifters, she heads back to her remote hometown in the mountains to gather her wits and learn who she really is. It's pure chance she meets Zach, a wolf shifter who is searching for a missing woman in the woods nearby. Sparks fly as both learn that their attraction for each other goes way beyond what they think.
This was an interesting story as far as my experience with shape shifting romances is concerned. I appreciated the fact that not only did the book tell the story of these shape shifting characters, the author was extremely helpful to my limited experience with the literary device of shape shifting by telling me how it all works in her book world. In previous books I've read authors often assume that their readers understand how the concepts work so my experience with those books has not been a good one. I thank Ms. Clark for adding that small detail to her story.
All in all, the book was pretty good. The sexual tension jumped out immediately as was expected in a novella-sized story. While not necessarily a cliffhanger, there is a larger story that is also being told involving the machinations of shape shifting clans which is not resolved at the end of this book. Reading the sequels will be necessary for a reader to reach a conclusion to that storylin. But the individual story of Nissa and Zach was finished and the next story in the series was introduced involving Nissa's brother.
Coming home with a bad attitude, being burned by her cheating boyfriend and ignoring her animal for the last few years, Nissa just wants reconnect. With her bear that is. Her brother, the alpha, has been hounding her to settle down and find her mate, not something she very interested in when she can't even call her bear. While trying to shift, she smells a trespasser on their land. Yeah, plenty of other snifters come through Bear Paw, but no one should be this close. When Nissa goes to investigate, she runs into wolf and not a wild one, but another shifter. A very handsome and unclothed shifter. One that makes her heart pound, her breath go rapid and pull she doesn't understand. Zach is following any clue he can to learn who abducted his sister. Taking missing persons jobs that may lead him just little closer to finding her. While on this job, he never expected to run into Nissa, his mate. As difficult as it may seem, he can't focus on her, doesn't have time for mate. His sister is number one. Not surprisingly, Nissa feels the same. They are both fighting a pull that's nearly impossible to ignore. I really liked this read. Such a quick one too, is you've got about two hours and you're jones'ing for good book, I would definitely recommend this one. Loved the basis of the story. Boy meets girl, finds out they're mates, they fight the pull, etc. Besides that, his sister has been kidnapped and no word as where she's gone? Big bro to save the day.....hopefully! The author didn't get into that is much nor about wither family. Not a big fan of cliffhangers, but eager to read the next. I gave this a fast five star read! Reviewer for Romance Authors That Rock!
I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy of this book that I received through Shifted Sheets Book Promotions. Bear Paw River is a town full of bear shifters. Nissa grew up here, but a tragic event in her youth caused her to run away and deny her black bear side. Now she's returned, though she doesn't believe she will be home for long. Zach is wolf shifter royalty, and he is putting off his responsibilities to his pack by searching for lost shifters. He hopes that this will eventually lead him to find his missing sister. Zach and Nissa meet, and they are less than thrilled to realize they are mates. This book is engaging. Nissa and Zach are sexy and funny together. I love their snark and bossiness - and protectiveness - toward each other. I also like Nissa's arguments with her bear. Though their relationship is resolved without a cliffhanger, there are several loose ends. The case Zack is working on and the case of his missing sister still remain open. Also, Nissa's oldest brother left town years ago, forcing brother Bo to become Alpha. Will he return to Bear Paw River? A glimpse of the next book shows that it will focus on Bo and his mate, who is attached to the case that brought Zach to town. I will keep reading the series to get resolutions to the questons left unanswered. I also hope to see Nissa meet Zach's royal family, which should be very entertaining.
Funny, sexy, snarky, and filled with lots of action. There's also a wonderfully subtle commentary on the human condition in here too. Nissa would be perfectly happy to not be a shifter at all. In fact she's spent the last couple of years living as an ordinary human. One cheating ex-boyfriend later and she's back home trying to come to terms with being a shifter again, when she runs into the sexiest complication imaginable. Zach has a job to do and family responsibilities he's trying to avoid. Nissa's presence in his life is just going to make all that so much more difficult. Fated mates are fated for a reason. Could Zach be the key to Nissa accepting her bear side? And will Nissa be what Zach needs in order to step up to all his responsibilities? I'm trying not to give away spoilers, so you'll have to read it for yourself to learn those answers. I really enjoyed watching these two work their way through the baggage holding them back. And I adored Nissa's attitude about her curves. Zach's job and his reasons for being in Bear Paw River has left this wide open for many, many more books to come. I look forward to reading all of them. I received a complimentary advanced copy from Shifted Sheets Book Promotions.
Coming Home When Nissa comes home due to a broken heart from a cheating boyfriend, she now has her older brother, the Alpha, telling her she needs to shift, mate and settle down. Having been on birth control helped her not only not get pregnant but was able to not shift for the last few years. Suppressing her bear for so long, it’s now a struggle to get her to come out. But she has other reasons to not shift that only she knows about.
Zach Werner has been looking for his missing sister for a while now. So he keeps taking jobs to find missing woman in hopes to get him closer to finding his sister. He doesn’t know why the wolf pack wants the woman found and doesn’t care. He and his wolf are on the hunt.
Then Zach tangles with a bear while on their land. Nissa finally shifts but only because her bear senses a strange wolf on their land. When the two tangle they both figure out the other is their mate but neither one wants a mate right now. This is a very cute, short love story that will leave you smiling when done reading. Well written and very entertaining to read.
I thought this was a wonderful story. Nissa is wallowing at her brother, Bo's, house. I think she has the right to wallow a bit, after getting her heart stomped on. But, Bo decides it's time for her to start trying to get it together. She's been suppressing her bear for years and her bear is pissed at her. At this same time, a wolf shifter prince, Zach, is looking for a missing wolf shifter in their territory (with Bo's permission). These two had me laughing my butt off, beginning with Zach and Nissa's first meeting and Bo's intervention. Zach is determined to help Nissa get over her fear of her bear and I loved that. I was also impressed with Nissa's ability to handle herself in a fight. They are fighting the mating call while all of this is going on. I loved both of their personalities. Just the right amount of humor, snark and honesty. They are fantastic together. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and I can't wait to read more about these two.
A wolf shifter must bring out the bear in his fated mate, while getting her to admit she loves him. Nissa is a female bear shifter who has denied her bear for several years. After seeing what happened between her parents and her uncle, she thinks her bear is dangerous and is afraid to shift, so she embraces her human side and runs away to the big city, leaving her pack. After a bad breakup with her boyfriend, she returns to the pack, but doesn't know if she can bring her bear out, nor does she think she should. Zack is a wolf shifter on the hunt for an abducted woman. He realizes she is his mate from the first moment then meet, but she tries to deny it. Zack has to teach her that her bear is part of her and not something to be afraid of. I loved the first meeting between them. Very funny, Especially what she keeps calling him. A great love story.
Wow what a great little book! This may be a short one but it is packed with excitement. It is really well-written and thought out. Now since it is short my review will be to. This is Nessa and Zach's story. She just returned to bear paw after her ex cheated on her. But she kept her bear trapped inside and is paying for it. Then she meets Zach who is looking for a missing woman.(which I hope there is more about in book two) but he finds Nissa. Or rather she finds him. As they try to stay away they keep finding each other. And he decides to help her. Such a good story just wish was longer. Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do; they value your opinions too
A short and sweet introduction to the Mates of Bear Paw series - with bearly enough bear jokes :) Following a murderous outbreak of violence in her pack Nissa takes her first chance to get out of Bear Paw, heads to the city and keeps her bear side entirely restrained. After a failed romance Nissa returns home but this time her inner bear simply won't come out to play. Enter wolf shifter Zach, he's the heir to his pack, but he's consumed by what happened to his missing sister. As a superior Tracker he has succeeded in finding many missing Shifters but his sister is still in the wind. So, a wolf with no interest in Mating meets a bear with a recently broken heart .... yeah, like it's not gonna happen! And when it does it is rather nicely done with a lot of emotion. It's one of those strange books which is actually better than the sum of its parts.
Nissa has been avoiding her shifter side for the past couple years, but finally she decides to return home and figure out what she really wants out of life. Zach is a man on a mission who absolutely does not want to be distracted from his goal by his attraction to Nissa, but the pull is undeniable and he's just got to see where it leads. The writing is wonderful, the characters are engaging, and there is plenty of humor and chemistry. There is a bit of backstory drama that explains current choices, and there's a clever segue into the next book, without leaving this one on a cliffhanger. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Nissa and Zach's story...Bear shifter Nissa hasn't shifted in years. She is low on confidence and highly fearful of letting her bear out. Wolf shifter Zach is next in line to rule his pack, something that he is not ready to do until he finds his missing sister. But Fate just might have other plans for them.
This book contains so many of the elements that I, as a PNR romance lover, enjoy reading about. The characters are well written and the plot flows steadily toward an HEA. There's plenty of romantic action and sexual tension as well as danger and suspense. This is a really good first book in a series. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of this series.
Zach has been determined that before he takes over the thrown for his pack, he wants to find his sister. Nissa has been running from her bear side since she witnessed a terrible fight years ago. Fate says they are a match, but neither is ready to accept a mate. Will Nissa accept her bear? Will Zach be able to help both of them accept that they are mates?
This was a really cute quick read. Loved how despite the fact that Zach said he wasn't ready, he was still unwilling to have her upset or sad. I didn't blame Nissa for her view on shifters after what she witnessed but was proud when she finally accepted who she was. Great book and cannot wait for more in this series.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It was a good short story but it didn't feel finished. Zack a wolf shifter is looking for a missing wolf. He is also searching for his missing sister. While in the woods in his wolf form following a lion's scent he discovers his mate. Nissa has been suppressing her bear for the last two years. She is in her family woods trying to get her bear to come out when she smells wolf and attacks. There is some adventure through this story. The next story seems to be about Nissa's brother Bo and another human character and the lion's. So none of Zack's missions we're solved. Hopefully Zack if in the next book too so we can get answers.
I enjoyed this story. I read this book in one sitting and wasn’t once bored. I had mixed feelings on Nissa. I understood her reasons for shutting her bear away but I wanted her to accept her bear. I wanted her to trust herself and her bear not to hurt anyone innocent. I liked Zach; I liked his mission to find the missing. I liked that although he tried to, he couldn’t resist Nissa. He then went on to help Nissa and her bear. I liked that Nissa found her bear in time to protect her mate. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for the next book in this series, I need it now!
Nissa has kept her bear suppressed for two years. She has been afraid of turning into a monster. Zach is on the hunt, but his lineage gives him greater power than the average shifter. When he catches wind of Nissa, her bear says “yes”, but she wants nothing to do with a lone wolf.
The chemistry between these two is terrific, and when he helps to bring out her inner bear she learns more about herself and her bear than ever before. Fun, quick, sexy read
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
Zach (a wolf shifter) and Nissan (a black bear shifter)
Melissa's brother is Alpha of their clan. Zach is a powerful wolf Prince searching for his missing sister. Zach has her brother's permission to be on clan lands, but Nissan doesn't know that. They meet when she attacks him, fearing for the cubs that s soon will be playing in the woods. She has kept her bear submerged the last couple of years due to a fight that killed her mother. It is a good story. I had not read this author before, but I will be looking for more by her.
A great story that was hard to put down. Zach & Nissa are a good match and extremely protective of each other. This was a fantastic introduction to the Mates of Bear Paw River. I would recommend it to all shifter lovers. I look forward to reading the next installment of this series. I voluntarily am reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy of this book that I received through Shifted Sheets Book Promotions.
This is the first time reading this author, and she has the beinning of a good series. This story is about Nissa, a bear shifter and Zach, a wolf. The book flows to the point that something is always going on. There is mating, fighting, fear and a need to figure out who you are. There is also a back ground story that I assume will follow the next book, and the beginning of the next couple in the series. It has a HEA, yet leaves you wanting more.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC version of this book. My opinions are mine and truthful.*
I loved this book. Shifter romances are my favorite! This one was better than some of the most recent ones I've read. Even better it has my favorite mix, a wolf and a bear. Zach and Nissa have a great love story that I'm going to remember for a long time. He helps her get over her fear of her bear and it was just wonderful. I can't wait for the next book in this series!
Nissa has come home to recoup after she caught her ex and best friend together. She hasn't shifted in several years and her bear is reluctant to come out. Zach arrived in town tracking a female wolf, while here he's scented some lion shifters, he also scented his mate. There is a larger story running over Zach and Nissa's mating call. In the next book we will learn more.
