Ryan and his friend Jonathan barely made it out of the bowling alley when the virus hit. They were stunned when a young child started to attack people and was biting chunks right out of their bodies. After going to Jonathan's house, Ryan needs to find out if his family is still alive. He dreads going inside, but his mother and his sister might need his help to stay safe. What will Ryan find when he enters his house?

Ryan knows that they can't stay in town so they have to find another safe place. Jonathan remembers a cabin in the woods where he always went when he'd go fishing with his dad. On their way to this place they find out that the world has become infested with zombies and that survival is nothing like the games they played on their computers. Will they make it to the woods without getting hurt?

Ryan's Luck is the second story in the Death's Children series. This series shows the new world through the eyes of the children who survived the first days. Ryan isn't a tough kid, but he needs to learn how to handle a weapon of any kind as fast as possible. He's smart and his quick thinking saves them numerous times. Ever since I read Last Another Day I've been a big fan of Baileigh Higgins. Her stories feel so real and are spine-chillingly frightening. I read Ryan's Luck in one sitting and didn't want to put it down.

Wow what another great in the series. Ryan thought he was just an ordinary person, that so changed quickly for him. Although it’s shirt, a worthwhile read.

This short series (Death's Children) is worth reading because it details the backgrounds of each of the characters, therefore, giving even more depth to the story as a whole.

I don't give spoilers - but I enjoyed Ryan's story.

Very good.

What a great short story of Ryan and his friend Jonathan’s journey. Ryan always thought he was just an average kid but will he be able to save his sister and keep this danger away?

Ryan is one lucky dude. He's survived a zombie outbreak in the local arcade with the help of his best friend Johnathon. He's rescued his little sister from the clutches of death. Now the three of them are on the run to find a safe place, somewhere, using a tire iron and an umbrella as weapons.

I'm putting "Ryan's Luck" on the 'young-adult' shelf because all of the characters aren't old enough to shave. That being said, this isn't exactly a kiddie book, as the descriptions of gore and death and, of course, zombie kids, is not exactly something I would want my young reader to read. For myself, however, this was a good read, and recommended.

This is book 2 of the series. We follow Ryan and his Buddy Jonathan on their journey after the outbreak. Ryan find his sister and along the way find another child. We get to see how the make it and we get to meet a new character at the end.

This series give you view on how teen's and children point of view and how they try to make it without the help of grown ups present or their help for safely.

This is the second novella in the series which, thus far, is very enjoyable. Just not long enough but I have said the same of books I love that had 700 pages, lol. Some people just can't be satisfied with a good book, they also want 5 new chapters every day except Saturday. That's the day I want 15 new chapters 😜. I highly recommend this series.

Ryan's Luck continues Higgins's zombie Apocalypse. Though very short it reminds me of a TV show that I can't wait to see the next episode. I do wonder what the driving age is where they are since Ryan is 16 and Johnathan is 17. Was Johnathan always such a showoff or is he masking his fear with this bravado? I am excited to see what happens to these characters. How did Lucy avoid the guy that killed her mom?

Great story

Great story great cast of characters. These serial stories give backstory and more information about characters from the dangerous days series of books by the same author. It gives you a little bit more insight into some of the characters from those books and a wider perspective of that world. Definitely entertaining and well worth the read
