The Miracle of Water

Rate this book
Masaru Emoto has photographed thousands of water crystals throughout his years of research, yet few have been as beautiful and life affirming as those formed from the words "love and gratitude." In The Miracle of Water, Dr. Emoto demonstrates how water's unique role in transporting the natural vibration of these words can help you welcome change and live a more positive and happy life. Dr. Emoto also explores the significance of words and language, their origins, and their impact on water. He introduces and explains the key concept of resonance -- the vehicle through which life-force energy is transmitted. From this knowledge, he draws out lessons that we can apply to our lives to reap the benefits of positive resonance, including more harmonious relationships, restored health, and improved communications. This thoughtful book includes new and extraordinary water-crystal photographs that provide convincing reasons for all of us to choose positive words and strive for perfect resonance for a more healthy, peaceful, and happy life.

This was a short book but amazing. The pictures were fascinating. The ideas behind his experiments may seem outlandish to some but to me it just showed how every element in the universe has a spiritual quality, that everything was created spiritually before it was created physically, and that we can be creators with our thoughts and words for good or for ill. It made me want to be more careful and purposeful with the words I entertain in my mind and the words I speak.

I view this book as containing two parts: the first part, and the most fascinating, is the actual crystal formation - their pictures and the stimuli that (allegedly) brought them into being; the second part was Mr. Emoto's stance that water carries vibrations of the universe and that we, as creators of these vibrations, have a responsibility to be conscious of our choices, words, and actions.

I liked this book, and found its message to be generally agreeable, but there are a couple points of contention that I would like to mention. For one thing, Mr Emoto never actually explains how he got his crystalline formations. I would think that, in a text like this one, the author would both describe his techniques and encourage others to follow them. But he doesn't, and that leaves me wondering if there's some secret step to achieving the results that Emoto has.

The second point of contention is the liberty with which Mr Emoto treats the second half of his book. Once the crystal formation is established - and it is impressive to view, make no mistake - then he begins his explanation of what he thinks this all means. From this point on, his writings are conjecture. I want to agree with what he has written, but I just can't ignore the feeling that he's sort of 'making this up as he goes along.'

So, while I very much appreciate the images presented in this book, I would have liked to know more about the science and procedures and a bit less about the author's conjectures.

I read the 1st 100 or so pages, and skimmed haphazardly through the rest, its a bit slow. The subject is interesting, and the photographs are compelling proof, and I'm writing with Sharpie pens on my water bottles, so I've taken his advice with a grain of salt. His theories on energy forces and resonating is pretty quantum theory agreeable, we have so much more power in the Field, if we can wrap our brains around the concept!

This book has just reaffirmed why my life is generally happy - despite opposition. I love life and people and God. This book is recommended to every person to enrich and help fulfill us all. It is beautiful and real.

The whole concept is what I love. This is an apt illustration of it's brilliance and profundity. Thank you Emoto!!!

This book pleases from its first impression with the photo of a "love and gratitude" crystal on the lovely, turquoise-coloured cover and the widely spaced lines making for easy reading.

The book includes valuable chapters about vibration and resonance, but most of the book is actually about the wonderful energy of "love and gratitude", and Emoto explains in the introduction that he uses both words together when exposing them to the water. since "love is the energy that we give to others, and gratitude is the energy that we receive from others", the harmony between giving and receiving being important.

To my mind, this is the author's most "advanced" book to date (that I've read)- it's not just about water crystals, though beautiful water crystal photos are still included, and of course form an integral part of the book.

His message is a basic one about the importance of love and gratitude in our everyday life, and how if we ourselves become loving and grateful, we will transform not only our own lives but also our planet.

An inspiring book!

Science tells us that all matter is made up of energy, which vibrates at different rates. Language embodies vibrations, too, which vary by word. According to Emoto, the words with the highest vibration, which also produce the most perfect crystalline structures, are “love” and “gratitude.” Saying these words, especially together, has tremendous healing power. Try it! Emoto also recommends blessing all water with Infinite Love & Gratitude, especially the water we consume as a daily practice to maintain good health. This is the single-most important book I have read since Caroline Myss’ groundbreaking metaphysical opus, Anatomy of the Spirit (1996).

I've read the Indonesian version of this book. Very informative. This book connect the missing link between science and superstition. No wonder people can be cured by chanted water.

The most touching book I've ever read, and it doesn't not even try to manipulate your emotions.
It just touch you, looking at how water react so similarly to us.

The miracle of water
This book is about how words and feelings affect water. The way they showed this is Masaru Emoto (the author and the person who conducted the explements) took some natural water and to one cup of it he would say despair and mean it. To another he said hope. They would then get frozen and when looking under a microscope you could see the hope made a beautiful 6-sided crystal with a smooth middle and detailed delict points making a sort of Christmas tree shape. The despair crystal on the other hand was unsymmetrical, with pentagon points and more than half of them were blurry. The middle of this snowflake looked like it wanted to be smooth but got disturbed. The same thing happened with other positive and negative words. This book changed me in a major way because it made me more aware of what I say and do and how it affects me. For example, saying a word like ugly can have a very negative effect on you. On the other hand, if you say the word truth it can have a positive effect on you. This experiment made me aware of that. I am going to try to keep this in mind as I go in the future. Emoto was born in Yokohama Japan 1943. He went to Yokohama Municipal University and got a job at Nagoya Office. After a few years he got his hands on a magnetic Resonance Analyzer he caged the name to "Vibration-o-Meter," (I like this name better). This was the big starting point to get him into vibrations. He believed that water was a "blueprint for our reality". In this book he says he traveled around the world telling people about this. Not everyone believed him. They think he did not share all the proof so it could be faked. They also think that he would have a lot more money. This book was made to share this idea. The question this book set out to find the answer to is: can water react to words? This author's writing style is expository, what that means is they are stating facts. (He put in a few opinions so it's not completely expository) Over all this is a cool idea, I am not sure if I believe it. I would not share this book with everyone I know. I feel like a lot of it can be summarized, but if they wanted details, I would tell them to read this book.
