It’s time for Umaru’s New Year’s allowance! What will she do when Taihei accidentally gives her two allowances? It’s time for a battle of right vs. wrong!
I'm a fan of the anime, and I probably enjoyed it more because I already know the characters. But I didn't remember any of the stories (some episodes in the second season are based on this volume).
There were some sweet moments between Umaru and her brother and with her group of friends. And while Umaru was trying to avoid spending too much money and was getting good grades, she could also behave like her usual bratty self. There was also an interesting side plot involving Ebina's missing brother, which no doubt continues in the next volume.
This volume ends wth an afterword announcing the anime production plus a spot-the-difference activity (which was too hard to do in Kindle format).
All in all, a fun read and I plan to read more of the series.
This is one of the cutest editions. There are so many adorable things in this volume. The demolished mall is heartbreaking. Them at the amusement park was adorable as well. They all gave up the rollercoaster because Kirie was too short to ride. Kirie wanting to be a author is lovely too. I'm sad she has to hide it.
She’s still spoiled and makes not-so-great decisions, but she’s getting better and is more self aware and is spending quality time with her brother and her friends. Even if she crashes a business trip to do so.
Yep all aspects of Umaru’s life are looking up… but a new rival could push her into a whole new weight class
Great slice-of-life/comedy series. Great for upper elementary & middle school. Will also be loved by aficionados of manga-version Japanese culture of any age. Fun characters.
