Faith Hitchin wears the shadows of the past on her skin for all to see. To a stranger’s eye she is a girl with sass and tattoos, a lover of art. But beneath the mystery of swirls and ink she is a woman alone and in pain.
When opportunity knocks in the form of an invitation to an art project that could change the direction of her life, she’s afraid to move forward. But, like her namesake, she pushes past all inhibitions and takes a leap of Faith. The last thing she imagines is a summer of self-discovery at the hands of a sexy Baroness’ son.
Elijah Fairclough is arrogant yet charming, complicated but forthcoming. With his blue eyes, expensive suits and evasive attitude, it seems he’s used to getting what he wants, and he wants nothing more than to discover the woman beneath the tattoos in every way possible. Will Elijah’s persistence make her break her only rule, or will there be tears of ink?
Romance without limits! A book hoarder and coffee addict at heart Anna's main existence in life is to create beautiful words about exquisitely flawed characters. She's a slow burn Princess and all about working for that happy ever after, but she guarantees when you get it, you'll fall so hard you might never want to surface again. Be prepared to oooh and aaah and squeal with delight as Anna takes you on a journey you are unlikely to forget. Anna lives at in Surrey, the UK, with her husband and three children. She happiest writing (thinking of ways to make you swoon), drinking coffee and snuggling up on the sofa in the evenings for a binge of her favourite shows or reading in bed. She loves to chat with her readers on social media so if you love the words come and find her, she sure loves to talk.
"You're a predator: no feelings, no attachments, just sheer pleasure."
It's been a while since I've read one of Anna Bloom's books, so I was pretty excited when I heard about her newest release which sounded right up my alley. And OMG did this book flash me not only with its sizzling romantic special and sometimes really hot moments. It twisted me right around its little finger as soon as I started this. With her captivating writing style the author created characters with beautiful souls and amazing chemistry. She grabs your heart and squeezes it until it's shattered at the end by this cliffhanger. Now I can't wait to get my fingers on Tears Of Glass!
"He looks amazing, breathtaking. Unlike any piece of art I could ever hope to create."
Elijah is something else. Truly. I don't know how else to describe him. He has this mysterious aura that captures you like the light attracts the moth. He's enigmatic, elusive, complex, smart, kind and oh so beautiful. He obviously has a good heart and he's prepared to sacrifice his own happiness to save the people he cares for and loves. But he doesn't take into account that his actions also might hurt the people deeply he desperately wants to protect.
"He's making me a whirlwind of irrational emotions. I'm a walking and talking contradiction."
Faith is some really special heroine. Learning from her past she build a big and huge wall around her heart. Wearing her tattoos not only as a reminder but more like an armor to protect her. She's a determined young troubled soul who's driven by dark parts of her soul. Seeing herself as something broken that can't be fixed she's not able to see how strong she really is and how far she already came. Meeting Elijah challenges all her rules she made to protect her heart.
"Eli is two people, two halves, a battle that never ends,. Two desires that won't ever meet. The man in the suit, the guy in the sliders."
Elijah and Faith are each others missing puzzle piece. They are so different from each other, not only their upbringing and that Faith is kind of like the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. But they complement each other in ways both never see coming. Their story is wonderful to follow. It unfolds like a rose opens its bud, as their feelings for each other develop through the book.
"It reminded me of your ink, and I hoped that one day maybe I'd be the one who stops your tears for good."
Tears Of Ink is a book that guides you through heartache and it's tragically beauty, through bitter disappointment and opportunities. It graces all facades of emotions like the whirls of a delicate created ornamental tattoo.
Like a tattoo artist creates beauty with ink on skin, Anna Bloom created beauty with words on pages.
I had the privilege of beta reading for the author and wow! Eli and Faith's story is so intense, hot and gripping, I can't wait to read more.
What can I say, I loved Eli and Faith, they are the type of characters you just want to see find a different direction in life, break through their obstacles, their hinderances overcome and as the plot develops you then can't help but start cheering in their corner to hopefully find love too.
Faith and Eli meet when Faith is invited to do a project at the stately home.
Tears of Ink is an opposite's attract kind of story, two people from different backgrounds and societies. Faith is a girl who has endured hardships, carries her baggage of insecurities, then you have Eli who has a surface appearance of being the lord of the manor, a high profile businessman but beneath the surface, he also has his own layers of insecurities and obstacles.
Eli hates his heritage and the prison of his namesake, he hasn't got the freedom to choose who he dates or even the kind of job he would like to do because of his family history and the image of the family name.
Faith has her issues, has her past secrets and hurts, yet she's ballsy, finds release from one night stands but at the same time, she's an introvert artist who doesn't see her talents or her self-worth.
I was completely swept away with Eli and Faith's story, I had high hopes for both to find love and finally push through their obstacles in life.
I cannot believe that ending!! I finished this book with a slack jaw. I went from having high hopes for a Cinderella kind of story to dread. I had really connected with both these characters. I still have hope though and I'm seriously itching to read book two in this gripping duet
TEARS OF INK Is a perfect sizzling Sunday read, heartwarming with the right amount of hot moments. Told In first person pov.
Ok so I'm not really good at leaving in depth reviews so I'll leave it fairly simple..... READ THIS BOOK!! 🤣 But seriously I've been a HUGE fan of Anna's for quite some time now and can honestly say this is her best book yet!! I fell in love with Faith and Eli and am eagerly awaiting the next instalment!
Eli could be so sweet and caring, “hey.” Elijah pushes at my door, and his face drops in shock as he takes in my wet face and swollen eyes. “****, what’s the matter? Was it my bloody grandmother again? I’m going to nail that old woman into a box.” *sighs* a cliffhanger I don't appreciate that, I'm hoping book two will come quickly. I didn't like how it ended I found myself no longer loving a certain character.
I’ve read a few Anna Bloom books – The Game, The Truth About Love series, the Obsession series, and the Gravity series (written as A.B. Bloom) – with more sitting on my Kindle to read. As you can see, I rather enjoy her work. Thus, I was pretty eager to dive into Tears of Ink.
As with all my Anna Bloom reads, Tears of Ink grabbed me from the start. In fact, I found myself a wee bit obsessed, needing to devour the book in a single sitting. I fell in love with the characters and the events, I found myself curious about the drama, and all the little details had me excited to see how everything was going to come together. I was hooked, on so many levels.
It’s one of those stories where you’ll fall in love with the small things, where you’ll find yourself curious about how the details will play out. There are things you think you know, things you’ll be desperate to know, and there will be things you’ll find completely unexpected.
Then, when you hit the ending, you’ll be desperate for the next book. Because damn, what an ending. The story ends on quite the cliff-hanger, leaving you desperate to see what the next book brings.
I have read most of the books written by this author and I have to say that this one will be up there as one of my favourites. This book is a real page turner. From the very first chapter I was hooked and for me this book definitely had the WOW factor. Faith is the most fabulous character. She intrigued me and I loved her personality. She has a past that causes her to run from situations that have the potential to hurt her and she doesn't trust, she doesn't allow people to get close to her. Elijah is the most fascinating of characters. His personality is amazing and I absolutely loved seeing the different sides to him. His family - you are going to have to meet them.... they are hopefully a one off! This book had everything I could possibly ask for. I love a book that is unpredictable, I love a book that has a great connection between the characters and I also love a book that I just don't want to put down! This story brought out every emotion in me... I laughed, cried, swooned, felt anger and angst. It truly is an amazing book to read.
I should have known better.... Tears of Ink shouldn’t have been my next choice, due to my lack of energy and resilience after my last reading, . It looked very promising but unfortunately because of the slow pace and only heroine’s pov, I was able to read only 35%.... I will come back to this later on.
Holy mother of all things good!!! This book is everything! What an amazing story, which keeps you captivated and wanting to carry on reading. I just wish it didn't end! I loved Faith. I felt her in my heart, and really wanted everything to fall in place for her. I also loved Elijah too (new book boyfriend added to my list!). I def didn't love his mother or grandmother!!!! (I am not giving anything away) Another amazing book written by Anna Bloom. She just has a special talent writing words!!
Anna Bloom is a new author to me and this book has blown me away, book 2 can't be released soon enough! Readers beware this book ends on one hell of a cliffhanger.
This book gives to anger, hate, sorrow, betrayal of epic proportions, lies, lust, love and sex.
⛔️⛔️⛔️SOME SPOILERS⛔️⛔️⛔️
Faith had some crappy teenage years, causing her to close off her heart of to love, has a rule to never have more that one time with a guy, she wears her tattoos like body armour, and her passion for art is her outlet in life. Then Elijah comes along and tilts her perfectly screwed up world off its axis. He's rich, handsome, sexy, has an offer that seems to good to be true, but in his own way he's also screwed up living by his stiff-uppper-lipped families rules. When life seems perfect will Faith regret letting Elijah in?
Elijah (Eli) has been groomed to his family's will, he loves art and hires the sexy, sassy, closed off Faith to work her magic and create art for his pompous family home. He loves her anyone can see that, but his family have the upper-hand at every turn. Life decisions made, but can he have his dream?
Will Faith & Eli get an HEA? Or have too many dreams and hearts been broken?
One of the most infuriating FMC. Like…. seriously, “I’m gonna cover my body in tattoos that mean something to me and remind me of blah blah blah but I’m always going to cover them up because it’s not proper for a lady” Why would you make the tattoos such an important part of her character but then not give her the confidence in them. ALSO she’s a hypocrite! She meets Eli and immediately judges him and jumps down his throat and considers him a player yet gets pissy when people judge her and refuses to sleep with someone more than once and has attachment issues. I started reading the second book just to see what happens to their relationship but you immediately find out that he was never engaged… like what are you going to write about for two more books?
“I’m a rule breaker.” I whisper the words into his mouth. In my stomach butterflies take to flight, and across my skin every story I’ve ever inked is slowly washed away in need and hope.
Melancholy and desolate this story is filled with heart ache and beauty, evolution and bitter disappointment. Faith is a talented artist close to completing her degree and is offered the once in a life time opportunity but unfortunately not everything is as it seems. Hired to create an art installation for Fairclough family she seizes the opportunity and faces her fears as she endeavours to deliver something new and conceptual. Battling her own demons and finding herself immersed in the Fairclough’s alien family dynamic she anchors herself to the enigmatic Eli. A man torn in two, treading between his secret desires and his family duty, he is the light in her darkness yet the cause of so much confusion. Protecting her heart has always been her priority yet Eli changes her goals and makes her dream of something more. Can their forbidden attraction bloom into more?
Tears of Ink was my first encounter with this author and I feel in love with her hauntingly descriptive prose and her well written characters. Faith has built up her walls, dug a moat and added sharp spikes to prevent anyone getting close. She’s quirky and steadfast yet broken and raw. Her life is tragically fragile and crumbles around her but will she rise from the ashes of loss? She’s stronger than she believes and I can’t wait to read the next in the series. Eli is brooding and closed off but also determined and chivalrous. I haven’t yet worked him out as he has secrets and motivations that he’s not yet shared. The family Fairclough is hiding it’s own truth and I’m excited to find out what skeletons are hiding in the closet. Together Faith and Eli sizzle and their passion is unbridled. This was a pensive and intriguing read that flowed beautifully and pulled on every heart string.
"Tears of Ink" is my introduction to the work of Anna Bloom, but it certainly won't be the last thing I ever pick up from her now. I'm well and truly bowled over by this writer's crazy-awesome storytelling ability. I had to admit that I wasn't so certain about the story at first, because the world-building is a slow burn of development, carefully stacking plot points and back story on top of the current action of the plot. But my attention was never compromised, and before I knew it, I was eagerly turning pages even at 3 in the morning! A good portion of this attraction is due to a hero I simply couldn't resist. Elijah is a man of loyalty, integrity, and character who is willing to put everything on the line for the sake of his growing attraction to Faith--who, surprise surprise, is more worthy to him for her talent and art rather than what he wants from her between the sheets. By the time these two finally consummate their attraction, they're both in deep and the stakes are high. Here, in the meat of the story, was where I felt the pair got to truly shine, because their real and relatable fears were put on the line in deep and emotional ways. By the time I read the final line, I knew I was ALL-In for these two--and I still am. Overall, a beautifully crafted love story between two characters who have taken over my heart. I seriously cannot wait for the follow-up book!
I am keeping this short and sweet. This book is a must read! Anna knows how to pull a reader in and allow them to get lost in her characters. I loved every second of it. You are missing out if you don't read Tears of Ink.
When I started this book, I did not think i would be able to get in the story because of the writing style. This book did not immediately have my attention It didn't catch my attention until the heroine and the hero met and from that point on I was hooked. The thing I liked about this book the most was that even though Faith had walls that no one could break and rules that she followed to a T, Elijah was able to break those walls and to convince her to break her own rules.
The ending of this book shattered me like it shattered Faith. I did not see that coming and it makes me want to jump right into the next book (which I did!). I felt Faith's shock, anger, and sadness even more so when she finds out that her beloved uncle, Al died on the night of the ball while she was there, he was dying in Brighton with all he loved and Faith was not there. But I think he would understand because he was always so supportive of her art and of her dreams.

INCREDIBLE!❤BREATHTAKING! An extremely deep emotional read that will strip you completely bare taking you on one heck of a breathtaking rollercoaster ride that refuses to give you time to breathe as it assaults all of your senses keeping you on edge demanding your undivided attention making it impossible to put down! A myriad of emotions, intense, edgy, fierce, raw, gripping twists, passion filled chemistry and worth more than a 5 star read! A beautifully written must read that will take everything from you but give you so much more in return! Defying all hope leaving you pleading for more! I LOVED IT!
Thank you for the ARC, Anna Bloom and BNW. This story was by far one of the more emotionally nuanced works I have read in a long while. The characters, Faith and Elijah are deeply passionate about many things; art, books, old cars, and the most telling is self-preservation. Faith knows what it means to be visible, but never heard. She tried speaking out once and all it earned her was distrust, humiliation, and isolation. Never again. Elijah lives in two worlds, one he can be himself, the other, he acts as expected. He knows about choices and duty. He lives a life he never wanted, but his life is not his own. When Faith and Eli meet the world must feel the kinetic energy between them. They don't need words, or elaborate displays, what they have is unique, sensual, and beautifully forbidden. Anna Bloom, I will be impatiently waiting for the next in the series.
What a book, finishing it 2 days ago and it is still whirling around in my head, I want more. Fantastic story, a mixture of one girl, tattooed who has trust issues with a one time only rule and a handsome, sophisticated man from aristocracy leads to an amazing story. Faith is an feisty art student who was invited to run a project with teenagers in a stately home and the story follows her journey with Eli to see the project through. Can he be her rule breaker? This story will have you hooked, it is unpredictable and will draw out all the emotions. Fabulous read, thank you Anna.
Blurb: `She has one rule: Never sleep with someone twice.
Will Elijah’s persistence make her break her only rule, or will there be tears of ink?
Anna Bloom is one of my favorite authors to read. Her books just keep getting better and better and she never seems to disappoint me when it comes to strong willed heroines and the handsome men they fall in love with. Tears of Ink was no different. I have been patiently waiting to get to know Eli and Faith since the first sneak peak we got of them. I absolutely LOVE Faith and I could feel every emotion that she tried to hide coming right off the pages. Eli was amazing; though I have to admit I have a love/hate relationship for him. I so want to love him but I hate how he keeps twisting Faith's emotions. She was correct in saying that there is more than one Elijah Fairclough and boy do they both come out! These two bounced around each other constantly (especially because of Faith's #1 rule) so I was happy when they finally came together and opened up to each other. They are both so damaged and each have their own complications that I can't wait to see how they work this all out. Since this is part of a series I knew that there would be a slight cliffhanger and the end, and as I got closer to the end my heart rate peaked waiting for it. Once it happened I was SO pissed but I expected the next part and I was so glad that Faith did not disappoint me. I love her (ink armour, rules, and all) and I look forward to seeing what she puts Eli though in the next book! Hopefully I won't have to wait to long. Read this book. Fall in love with Eli and Faith, oh and the rest of the secondary characters especially the ones that Faith surrounds herself with. Just read this book! *I voluntarily read and advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
Anna Bloom is a new author to me. I read the blurb and knew that I needed to get my hands on this. The blurb alone sucked me in.
This story was emotional, sucked you in, and brought you on a rollercoaster of a journey. The characters this story follows are Faith and Elijah. Both are very passionate individuals and share many of the same passions like books, art, vintage cars, among other things.
Their passion is what brings them together and they were absolutely magical to read about. This story was so deep and to leave it spoiler free all I can really say is it is a journey you will absolutely love to take with these characters. You will be sucked in from the very first page and be left waiting for the next book in the series to come out because this one was just so good. Anna Bloom just became one of my 'one click authors'
I was lucky enough to win a copy of Tears of Ink and im sooo glad i did because wow... Just wow!! Anna Bloom took me on one awesome ride with Faith and Elijah that i never wanted to end!! When your able to connect with the characters and feel everything their feeling you know the author put her everything in this book and when the last sentence leaves you dying to know whats gonna happen the wait will be sooo worth it!! I would definitely take a chance on this book you will not be disappointed 😀
Faith has had a hard life and that makes her run from past problems and perceived future problems. She wont allow herself to get close to anyone. In walks Elijah, he is awesome and very easy to like. The connection between the 2 is amazing to read. Lots of twists and turns. Love a story where the characters are ok with themselves being the way they are and not being what other people would call normal. Enjoyed every page.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have no words to describe how amazing this book is, the growing relationship between Elijah and faith is so beautifully written that you get swept away with how it grows from their first meeting which went so wrong!
Faith doesn’t let herself trust anyone because when she does she gets hurt, but Elijah breaks down the walls she puts up. Will it all end in tears?
I want to cry so bad for her at the end! I swear she is so brave and for him to do that to her after everything she's been through I hope the little s@@t turns himself around in the next book or am going to be fuming 🙈
This was definitely a good read. First book Ive read from this author and Ill definitely be needing more. Overall I really enjoyed it and loved the characters and storyline. I felt like I was on one roller coaster ride. Characters had great chemistry and it was definitely a slow burn. I was more surprised at the end with the cliff and sooo didn't see that coming. I loved it. I am looking forward to reading more from Bloom and it has me all excited for new book goodies.
I dont think any words can do this book justice. It gave me all the feels and i absolutely loved it?! Just when i thought i had this book mapped out, a massive twist was thrown at me and i was thrown off target!
I was drawn to this book by the beautiful cover and very good reviews. But unfortunately it did not work for me although I hope it would.
I did not like the main characters and the supporting were no better. I don't know what exactly bothered me in Faith character but I did not warm to her. She felt bit self centred, which could be due to the fact it was story from her point of view. Some of the things she did and said I did not like. It was also too much for me to read endless descriptions of her adoration of Elijah.
Ill be honest around chapter 17 I lost my patience and started skipping .pages. The book ends with cliffhanger but I would expect that knowing what Elijah mother is capable of.
The writing style was almost perfect and that made it difficult to digest. Simply it did nothing to me. One another point was the fact the story took place in London, I just don't like London full stop.
So, although I expected excellent read it turned out to be less than average for me.
