The Straw Hats head for a new land of adventure, the kingdom of Wano! But awaiting them there are Kaido’s powerful forces and all sorts of new problems!
Eiichiro Oda (尾田栄一郎, Oda Eiichirō) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime One Piece.
As a child, Oda was inspired by Akira Toriyama's works and aspired to become a manga artist. He recalls that his interest in pirates was probably sparked by the popular TV animation series titled Vicky the Viking. He submitted a character named Pandaman for Yudetamago's classic wrestling manga Kinnikuman. Pandaman was not only used in a chapter of the manga but would later return as a recurring cameo character in Oda's own works.

« “I' ll make this the norm for you. I’ll make sure that by the time we leave this country…It’ll be a place where you can eat until you’re full everyday !!! »
«The light of the moon knows not the break of the dawn. Heavens hear me! For I pray. Cast nine shadows across the moonlit night of twenty years. And know the bright of dawn. »
Welcome to Wano! Last volume gave us a glimpse of the scenic beauty and culture of the land... and now Oda reveals an uglier side, rife with famine and pollution and state-sanctioned bullies and bandits. Even little kids like Tama don't have enough to eat. She puts her yearly cup of rice to a much better use by hiring with it a magical fighting crackhead to fight for her against the tyrannical oppressors of Wano. We'd had plenty of reasons to fight here, as it was, but if you want a surefire way to get Luffy to wreck a whole country - to make certain he won't forget halfway through what he was here all about - you give him food.
Good to hear from Ace again as well. It's been a while.
It starts off the usual Luffy arrives on this strange land and meets this cute girl Otama and things happen, meeting with Zoro, facing off against sumos, meeting other strange people, having to find his old mate Kine'mon and then going up against some other villains and ultimately the entrance of Kaido and meanwhile we learn of the secret history of Wano and it's dark secrets! Great volume and it does a good job building Wano and showing the strawhats as heroes, liberators and what not!
Okay I have to wait a couple of days until I get my hands on the next Sun Eater Book, so now it will be time to get caught-up with OP finally. This sounds so wrong to say lol.
This is all really cool for an introduction to this arc, but... Uhm where the fuck did THAT Devil-Fruit Power come from?? Not sure what I think about that yet haha

My first volume of manga in Japanese! By the end, I was able to understand about 65% of the words showing up. I was familiar with the story from the anime, and the pictures helped provide context. One oddity is how many characters have unique speech habits: one characters ends every sentence with “degozaru”, another with “yansu”, and Law and Luffy seem to cut off words at the end. In general, kanji makes it possible to still understand these words.
I will take a break before trying volume 92, and instead read Nichijou, a series with a smaller and more common vocabulary.
only took me three months of not touching a single book but i miss reading so i forced myself to pick this back up and god i hope this gets me back into reading properly
Overall, a decent start for the beginning of Wano. It's a bit of a hectic vibe, and some parts are not quite as impressive as I expected. Maybe I feel like Wano is over-hyped in general, but Oda clearly lays down the foundations for a solid arc in this volume.
WANO COUNTRY ARC - PART 1 1. it is absolutely time to simp for zoro.
2. luffy's supreme king haki....i'm on my knees.....(again)
3. HJSBGHFBHJ WHY ARE YOU REMINDING ME ABOUT ACE, WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME OTAMA IS WAITING FOR HIM, WHY ARE YOU SHOWING ME MEMORIES OF THOSE TWO, STOOOOOOOP WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME ODAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
4. okay, update to keep track: bege, who was allied with big mom, is on his own now. luffy and law both are on their own. eustass kid is still prisoner of kaido's, and new info: x. drake and basil hawkins now joined kaido too. that's 7 of the worst generation
5. HELL YEAH, i love learning more about the grade swords :> i've been waiting since loguetown for more heheheh
6. otama yells at luffy that he wouldn't know ace so he doesn't understand her pain, but he doesn't correct her. it's not about him, so he doesn't butt in in how she needs to express the feeling of loss. maybe he thinks his own sense of loss is not hers to know, but i feel like that's not why he doesn't say anything, i think that he knows she just needs to take it out on him as the 'evil guy', who told her the bad news. at the same time, because his morality and actions are similar to ace's, he is also healing to her
7. what i like about luffy vs other pirates: these other pirates send out their minions to fight for them. luffy never does, he fights WITH them
8. oh to be cradled by zoro, while one is sick with fever- i mean i don't wanna have fever, but...you know...a sacrifice is for the well of the general public (mine) [HE IS A HUNK OF A MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN]
9. zoro's observation haki..................god, this arc was made to simp for him (why did nobody tell me that zoro fighting without his swords and only his hands against sumo wrestlers is so hot???)
10. i thought zoro in a kimono is already bringing me down to my knees, but.........trafalgar law...............
11. time travel??? i did not expect that, but i find it very cool. the time-time fruit is INSANE. can one also return back though, or only to the future? why was momonosuke able to live, but not his sister, though???

Shutenmaru, the leader of the thieves come to Okobore Town to steal back the food and water supplies. Jack arrived and fight with Shutenmaru. Suddenly, Kaido, in the form of Dragon appears from the sky.
I’ve seen the show and I’m reading the volume 1-3 book currently and it was at the library in the graphic novel section and since volume 1-3 was very intriguing (I haven’t finished the volume 1-3 book). I decided to give it a go and was really good to read. When I wanted to have some down time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So many fun designs pop up here. I didn’t understand the Wano hype back when it first started but now I’m like omg, I think this is gonna be on the level of Alabasta or Water Seven.
