As a civil lawyer, I spent many, many years writing complex legal briefs for unappreciative bosses. To keep from stabbing myself (or them) in the eye with a fork during all of that, I also started writing down the stories in my head. All on my own time, of course ;) Turns out, I'm a sucker for hot, alpha male shifters and kickass heroines.

Now, I've thrown away my shingle (er - more like burned it in a fire pit) so I can devote my time to bringing you sizzling, erotic, paranormal romance stories. If you like hunky, bad boy shifters, women who know what they want in and out of the bedroom, panty-melting sex scenes, and edge of your seat suspense, I've got you covered! We'll put the rahr in erotic romance (okay, okay, that sounded better in my head).

Impossible to say goodbye!

Review of Dragon keepers series by Kimber White

I finally took the time yesterday to finish the Dragon keepers series written by Kimber White. I had finished books 1-3 months ago and have had books 4 and 5 in my Kindle Library for some time. Yesterday was a rainy  day in Missouri and rather then do housework or nap, I settled down with a cup of tea, my fuzzy blanket in my recliner in front of my big picture window. With the dogs napping at my feet, the gentle rain falling outside and the birds performing for the Birdfeeder Olympics on my outdoor deck I finally clicked on Book 4, Claimed By Fire.  Before I knew it, several hours had passed , my husband was calling me to dinner and I had completed book 4 and was more than halfway through the final book, Freed By Fire. I was so engrossed in the world of dragon shifters, magic and finding true love, I had no idea where time had gone. The house could have been on fire, zombies could have invaded my lower 40 acres , the world could have ended, and I would have never known, as I was far away on the West Coast in another dimension!  This is exactly why I love reading anything Kimber White writes! She has the ability to transport you to another place and time, with the magic of her written words.  Since this is why I read, a brief escape from everyday life, Kimber White has earned a special place on my bookshelf. The Dragon keepers series by Kimber White is a wonderful way to spend a lazy rainy afternoon.

The series consists of five books that follow the five billionaire dragon shifters, The Brandhart brothers, whose very successful enterprise is based in the Gold Coast of Chicago. Of course, the brothers are sexy alpha billionaires as we all know that dragons love their treasure!   The brothers are a dying breed, their mother the Dragon Queen, Avelina, having survived the shifter and mage war, brought the brothers to life over 300 years ago.  As far as the Brandharts and the world are concern, dragons are extinct. However, Avelina, continues to search for other dragon survivors who may be living in hiding. She sends her sons on quests throughout the world, following clues that might lead to finding others like themselves. The brothers are all beginning to show signs of “mating sickness” and are in danger of losing control of their dragons. Thus, finding their “fated mates” is imperative but to the brothers it may be as unlikely as the chances of finding anymore dragon shifters.

But there is more to this series then alpha males trying to find their “little woman”. Kimber’s heroines are not your submissive victim type females. Everyone of her female characters prove to be some  bad-ass women who know how to kick -ass and take names. Its torture to a protective alpha male, but it adds a little spice to the relationship. And boy is the sex spicy and just a little bit on the dangerous side given a dragons propensity to bursting into flame when worked up!

Like many paranormal romances, there is plenty of steamy love scenes. What I especially enjoy about Kimber’s writings is that the sex does not dominate the story. There is plenty of action, mystery, magic and intrigue to go along with the passionate love story that makes this a romance. There are twists and turns in the plot that you never see coming. And of course, there is always a happily ever after waiting for you at the end.

Each of the five books are listed as a “stand-alone” novel. I would recommend reading the books in order they were written in order to get the full gist of the story. Also, it would be a shame to miss out on how masterfully Kimber weaves the storyline together and how her characters develop and grow as the series progresses. I am convinced you will come to love all the individuals in the tales and hate to leave the Brandharts behind.

I loved all five books and gave each 5-star rating. Unlike other series I have read, Lord of the Rings in particular, where one or two of the books are very well written and another just leaves you flat, in the Dragon Keepers collection, all five books are excellent. I found myself unable to put the books down. I lost a lot of sleep and my house looks like a tornado struck it, but it was well worth it. The books held my attention from page 1 till the end. And at the end I found myself not wanting to say goodbye to my new book friends. I hope this is not the last time I see or hear from the Brandhart dragons. If we are lucky, Kimber White has a sequel or two in mind.

So, if you are looking for your next good read, fall in love with Kimber White’s dragons. It is well worth the fall and like me, you may find yourself soaring away with dragons, magic and most of all love.

Wow! For both this book and the series. Reading the end did give a satisfying conclusion, however, it was such a good book with so many surprises I didn't want it to end.

Kian is the last brother to find a mate. He hasn't and the sickness is taking hold. That means the human side can't keep control of the dragon--very dangerous for the humans around him. He watched his brothers suffer and find peace with the discovery of their mates. They were human with a little extra, shifters, all some magic that made them able to be with a dragon mate. Not so for Kian. He left home to either find her or do what must be done.

Calla has a special ability with shifters. She could reason with them and help keep them in control. Her friend, not quite family but he'd been with her for years, was the only one who knew about her ability. He also advised her when they needed to move on. Someday she would find a place to call home and stay--she hoped.

Kian was in a bad way when they met as she served him a drink. After they met the town started experiencing brutal murders. Who? What? Why?

From here things get scary and there are more questions than answers. The most important question is will Kian or his family follow through and make sure his lack of control doesn't harm humans.

I liked that I couldn't figure out who was the bad guy. Right to the end I wondered how it would turn out reminding myself that in romances there has to be a HEA, doesn't there? Maybe you'll figure it out. Guaranteed you'll like the characters and their caring for each other even with all the questions between them.

You can read this one alone, however, it is a great series. Alone or all of them this is a good one sorry to see the series end.

Kian and Calla😍

Loved this final instalment in the Dragonkeepers series! Kimber knocked this book out of the ballpark for me❣️ It was intense, intriguing and kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation and curiosity.

Kian finds himself in a town called Shadow Point. He has absolutely no recollection of how he came to be there or how long he’d been gone from Chicago as his dragon was constantly taking over and causing more periods of darkness.

Calla has been one Shadow Point for two years and her ‘grandfather’ is insisting they move as more shifters become aware of Calla and her existence which causes more danger. But a string of human deaths has her convinced it’s her fault and she wants to stay to help and she feels drawn to Kian too😍

Fantastic story and loved all of the brothers and their mates❣️ Thank you to Kimber for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review.

This is an wonderful, intriguing dragon shifter romance, and I found it a pleasure to read. The characters are well-developed with definite individual personalities and display realistic emotional feelings. The story-line and plot is interesting, well-thought out and written, it keeps the reader’s attention,
There is: a dragon shifter out of control (Kian), a unusual & mysterious woman (Calla), a acting grandfather (Ashor), various kinds of shifters, twists & turns, intrigue, adventure, action, danger, magic, fugue episodes, murder, attractions, memories, paranoia, conflict, defiance, emotional turmoil, unexpected surprises, shock, confrontations, families issues, discovery, love, happiness & a wonderful satisfying ending.
I really would recommend this book.

Wow what a finale, this read was really hard as it was about Kian, the brother who was the furthest from finding a mate and going mad because of the mating sickness, but his story comes full circle. Waking up in a town he doesn’t know, he cant remember why he’s even there, but he feels drawn to it. He stumbles into a bar where he meets Calla, she’s different but he can’t pin point why. What will happen when things start to go wrong in the little Town Calla calls home? Will she be able to save Kian from himself?
Great story, plot, characters, loads of angst, some twists, and turns. Some very sweet moments but mostly you’re on a rollercoaster for most of the book. Great to see all the characters come together in the end, but I wished we had more Brandhart stories.

Kian is a dragon shifter the last of the Brandhart brothers who hasn't found a mate and it might be to late before the mating sickness takes over and he is lost to his dragon. He wakes up from his latest blackout and doesn't know where he is. Turns out he is at Shadow Point , Wash where he meets a woman. Calla has powers and secrets all her own that keeps her from stay in one place to long.
Can't tell you to much more with out giving the story away. IT s full of danger, action, mystery, drama and so much more so don't miss it. The characters are fantastic and really pull you in. I couldn't put the story down.
Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.

I enjoyed reading the final book in the series just as much as the other. The only difference is I didn’t feel the mating need like I did in the other parts of the series. I knew something was up with Calla from the beginning. I had an inkling who she was because I figured the author wouldn’t leave us hanging since Avelina had been looking since book one. I do want to read about the daughters and what happens to them. I’m waiting until the entire series releases. Overall, this was an amazing series!!

Ohmygosh! Again a fiery and sexy dragon shifter story. Kian Brandhart finally gets his own book! I love these guys! Kian it seems is near the end of his sickness without a mate. Will he find one in time? Kimber White writes sexy and hot alpha romances that keep you glued to every page. Sad that this is the last of the brothers. Though I’m sure she has something magical in the works.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

I have been waiting for Kian’s story for quite some time and Kimber did NOT disappoint. What an AMAZING story on the journey to love. Will Kian avoid the madness that comes from not finding his ONE or will she come to the rescue. READ, READ, READ this series of stand alone journeys and find yourself enthralled with them.

I enjoyed this book and thought it was a good ending for the series. Showing how mating sickness actually effects the dragons after they start to be overtaken by it was something I thought was interesting to read about and I'm so happy that this all got wrapped up really nicely with answers to questions from the previous books as well.

An enjoyable series

A wonderful fantasy series with each book bringing it's own characters to life in similar yet very different situations. This is the final book and has really finished with an awesome ending.

The story was ok, but very predictable, and very slow. It felt like a chore to get to the end.

All I can say is this book brought the heat in more ways than one.

The author really stepped up to give Kian the best story possible.

Getting to know Calla and her past living with a mage named Astor.

Definitely worth reading the other books in the series.

What a way to end a series! Freed by Fire is another incredible read by Kimber White. With the last dragon brother, Kian resisting the madness as long as possible. Imagine his surprise when his instincts push him in the direct path of his mate and the last female dragon left on earth. I’m sad to say goodbye to this series, every book was great!
