Lucy loves all genres of romance and intends to write as many of them as possible. To date she has published twenty novels and novellas. These includes paranormal, urban fantasy, gothic regency, and contemporary romances with more on the way.
Give me a hero taking care of a baby girl and you've got me hook, line, and sinker. Especially since Ethan had no clue what he was doing and suddenly he's taking care of a sick mom and baby girl. His learning curve was very entertaining but to see him fall for that little girl and how sweet he was with her made me so happy.
I think Ethan's bachelor status in previous books made him less interesting to me as the other guys in this series. So I love that the author throw a curve ball his way that ended up bringing out such a sweet and caring man to fall for.
Juliet started out as a bit of a weak character, however the longer she was with Ethan, the more her confidence grew. She shed that weaker girl and became what I prefer to see in a heroine.
I like how the storyline forced these three to spend so much time together. My favorite part to any book is to see how a couple handles things together. I really enjoyed this couple and baby Luna.
4.5 ⭐️ stars. Baby Luna stole the show! It was very compelling read. I enjoyed the story and protagonists. So many characters from previous books were also included, which was a bonus for me. Story is told mostly from hero’s point of view. Ending was also very good. Recommended.
I absolutely loved this book! It had everything I enjoy. Drama, mystery, suspense, romance and plenty of steam. Add in an adorable baby girl interacting with an alpha FBI agent and I’m all in.
Ethan is left on his own to renovate an apartment building he has invested in along with his friends. He’s been trying to connect with the last remaining tenant but she keeps sidestepping him at every turn. But when he sees a toddler roaming the hall he finally gets a chance to meet the tricky renter. Unfortunately, she’s seriously ill and he finds himself taking care of not only her, but her little girl as well.
I love when a big, strong hero is swept up by a tiny human and that is exactly what Luna does with Ethan. She steals his heart big time even as her mother does the same. Ethan was everything I look for in a hero with his strong protective instincts, driving desire, and uncharacteristic jealousy. Watching him fall for both of these girls was fun, sometimes humorous, and heartmeltingly divine.
Juliet was a strong heroine, fiercely fighting to keep Luna and herself safe from a past that threatened them. While she had her moments of insecurity when it came to relying on Ethan, it didn’t take her long to realize he was what she needed. I loved that while she allowed Ethan to protect them, when push came to shove, she was more than capable of doing what needed to be done.
This is a fast paced read with some favorite characters from the Singular Obsession series as well as a few new ones. The chemistry between Ethan and Juliet was completely believable and filled with steamy goodness. While the mystery doesn’t hold a lot of mystery, this has a lot of suspenseful moments and plenty of outside drama.
It's a spin off series and there are references to previous couples who already together so maybe best to read in order of writing to avoid spoilers though no great plot revealed.
Lots of breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. Few brief mentions that the Hero had had previous relationships but no detail. Heroine is running from an ex but she is a virgin. Sigh...
I would have given it 4 starts except for the inner monologue which is a pet peeve of mine. At first it works at the Hero is alone caring for the heroine and a small toddler so he is talking to himself a bit about the situation but they both do it later and I just hate it.
I liked that the heroine was quite strong and capable in her way.
HEA.

A good book to read. Him and some partners bought the building to get it up to code. One of his other partners let the girl and kid live there until she finds a place. Ethan finds her sick and she can't take care of the baby. He takes care of both of them and falls in love. Come to find out she lost everything because of the cartels.
The book was going along okay until the first sex scene. First, what is up with all the sex scenes (particularly the FIRST one in a book) being from the man's point of view?? Are a lot of heterosexual men reading romance these days? Who is this book written for? I doubt it's the LGBTQ+ community, since there's zero representation here. If I'm purposefully reading a heteronormative romance, why on God's green earth would I want to visualize details about creamy breasts and being "sheathed" in an amazing pussy? (I have no problem with sex scenes from a protaganist of any orientation in general fiction. But it's not what I want in a hetero romance novel.) So. Tired. Of. The. Male. Gaze. Even. In. A. Book. Written. By. Women. For. Women.
Second, it's the 21st century. Can we please get past the harmful mythology about the physical aspects of "virginity." I tolerate this in historical romance where there virginity is super important at the time, and everyone was pretty damn ignorant about biology. But in a modern romance? Puhlease. The heroine seems a little inexperienced, and there's some blood on the sheets the next day, so the guy automatically assumes she was a virgin lying about having a kid??? WTF. Dude. Maybe you're just NOT THAT GOOD. It could be her period arriving. And not every virgin vagina fucking bleeds, and no, virgin sex does NOT have to include some discomfort or pain. And no, most men cannot tell whether a woman is a virgin by the "tightness" of her vagina or actually feel the hymen breaking. Gimmee a fucking break.
Third, it is NOT a turn on to read about how the hero has never really cared much about how his MULTITUDES of previous partners felt during sex, that making her come was just something he felt obligated to get over before getting to his main event, until he met the ONE and now suddenly he cares about his partner more than himself. All I can think is, what a fucking jerk.
Yes, at least he's a jerk who cares about consent--which he himself attributes to numerous work trainings, which is mentioned repeatedly. So, if it weren't for his job and multiple trainings, are we to think he might not care about consent??
Fourth, there's just not enough of Julie's train of thought. Okay, the guy's hot. And he's being kind to her and her daughter. That's it? What is it about his personality that she digs enough to overcome fear of getting caught out in lies by an FBI agent when she's an illegal immigrant? I'm not buying it. We spend too much time in his brain, and only superficial time in her brain, and it's just not worth continuing any further.
I really like this author and eventually found myself caught up in the book but I nearly gave up in the first few chapters due to Juliette's illness and the supposed diagnosis and advice from a medical professional. The author should have done more research into meningitis. If it had really been meningitis then she should have been rushed to hospital, regardless of the type. Both kinds can cause serious, long-lasting damage to the body if not treated and, in the worse cases, death. Sorry if I'm sounding preachy but even in fiction it's irresponsible to talk about an illness like this without knowing more about it. She basically had flu and the author could have simply stated that instead - flu (as opposed to a bad cold) would have this effect on a person and lay them out for days. Meningitis kills and suggesting to readers that they can simply go to bed with little more than aspirin and a cold compress to get over it is wrong.
Ethan appeared in several books of another series, glad to read about how he finally met the right woman. And Juilet was so strong to raise Luna under such difficult circumstances. Luna was such an adorable baby.
The only thing I was disappointed was that Ethan didn't have much action in this book. I expected to read how brave he was in saving Juliet and Luna. He was the FBI after all.
This book was a no for me! I got sucked in by an Instagram reel and the glowing reviews, but wow, was I wrong. I usually enjoy a lot of corny book reads, but this was just bad. The only good, is that it was a quick read (under 300 pages), and for making me laugh some, at how cringe-worthy it was.
VENT SESSION - SPOILERS AHEAD
Here’s the rundown: The MMC (Ethan) is an FBI agent who buys an apartment building with his friends to flip and rent out. Enter Juliet, who is “squatting” after they evict the residents. She’s got a one-year-old daughter and works at the bar next door. Ethan’s trying to get her to move out, but she keeps dodging him and makes a deal with another owner to stay longer.
One night, during the worst blizzard in years, Ethan finds a baby in the lobby. Juliet appears, drunk but actually very sick, unable to reman conscious. Ethan can’t reach 911, so he ends up taking care of her and the baby during the storm (which is noble). But then the cringe factor kicks in.
Juliet has a fever of 104°F, and Ethan undresses her down to her undergarments to help cool her down. He internally acknowledges her beauty but also remarks on how young and skinny she looks he can even see her ribs! But then, as he undresses her, he marvels at her “lovely curves” and can’t help but be attracted to her. Um, what? Is he taking crazy pills? The weirdness escalates when he’s supposed to be a germaphobe but ends up kissing her a few days later after his doctor friend said that she was likely contagious and to mask up and keep the baby away from her for at least a week. Like, dude, she’s sick, looks too young, and you’re a germaphobe! What is going on here?
Once she recovers, Juliet loses her job because the bar manager wants to hire his friend. Turns out she’s on the run from the Mexican government after her cop ex-fiancé set her up for a murder he committed. Oh, and the baby’s mom? We find out it’s Juliet's sister, who was murdered, along with the rest of her family, which is why she fled to the U.S. That and Juliet has dual citizenship, but stays in hiding and doesn't use her real name, and won't use any of her access to her money for fear of being tracked down.
Almost every guy in this book is gushing over Juliet's beauty to an uncomfortable degree. It’s like they’re all auditioning for the role of “Creepy Guy.” Even after she gets shot, the security detail is trying to take her out for drinks—The first time you talk to her, you're asking her out, while she is literally in the hospital recovering from a GSW! And when an FBI partner helps her after she’s shot, he internally thinks about her soft skin and beautiful body. She’s bleeding and has a bullet in her, and you’re thinking about her looks.
Ethan goes from a bachelor to madly in love with Juliet in just a few weeks, and he totally falls for the baby (that part is understandable). But the smut? Yeah, it was just “ick.” I love a good steamy scene, definitely a pro smut girly, but this one was a hard pass. Their first time, he finds out she was a virgin (the morning after) which added more weirdness to the story. The scene was detailed and just...gross.
Honestly, I feel a bit scattered writing this review because there’s just so much wrong with this book. I almost DNF’d it, but I had to know how it ended.
In the end, Juliet, who is actually well-educated and comes from money (dirty money, but still money), manages to come out of hiding once her fiancé is apprehended. She applies for law school, sets up a trust for Luna (the baby), gains custody, and somehow Ethan marries her (off-page) and adopts the baby. And that’s a wrap!
Overall, I’d say save yourself the time and skip this one. It’s a wild ride, but not the fun kind!
Codename Romeo Lucy Leroux is the First book in the Rogues and Rescuers Series. This is the story of Juliet and Ethan. This is a spin off series from the A Singular Obsession Series, but with that said this was totally a standalone book. Ethan and his friends are remolding an apartment building where Juliet is hiding out in Ethan's friend has told her she can stay but Ethan wants her gone. When he happens to go talk to her he see her for the first time and she is sick with her young daughter running around. Ethan ends up taking her in to get her well and helps her daughter. But what he isn't expecting is that he won't be letting them go. I am such a fan of Ms. Leroux's writing her books are a must read for me!
I enjoyed every written word of this book. The author gave us well developed and engaging characters that have plenty of chemistry. Easy flowing storyline made it a great read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was just too sweet, I just can’t handle it when a tough guy is thrown for a loop by a tiny tot. It wasn’t exactly a meet cute for Ethan and Juliet but it was sure a adorable meet up for Ethan and Luna. Ethan thinks he is a total bachelor and lives a bachelor life, I actually think he might have fallen for Luna first. Its really sweet how Ethan has all these rules and he’s so respectful of Juliet and her space and boundaries. However he is an FBI agent and he needs to uncover all of the mysteries that is her past and of course that causes tension.
Juliet seems to come off timid in the beginning but I think it might have more to do with her being sick. She is amazingly strong for having gone through what she did and survived as she did. It was nice watching her come out of her shell with the contractors and even Ethan. Two of my favorite interactions were when she met Donovan and Viktor. Also the Gatorade part with Donovan was pretty funny. Of course she has to overcome her past to have a future and I liked seeing her become so much stronger for it.
This was such a sweet story, I fell head over heels for all of the characters. I don’t think there was a single person I didn’t like. Is there a book about Viktor? Will there be a book? I’m excited for the next book I can’t wait for it to come out.
This is a well written book with strong, well developed characters in Ethan and Juliet as well as little Luna. The author does a beautiful job bringing out the emotions in this fast paced action romance. I loved watching the relationship and bond form between Ethan and Luna as well as the chemistry and love between Ethan and Juliet. She brings drama, suspense and intrigue as well as the steamy passion and growing love. I loved reading and highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I’m not sure what to say about this book. It was on and off good and then not good. I liked the storyline and the characters and loved little Luna. The book lagged in places and then speed up and the suspense and romance was good. There were seven times when the book was a little to woke for me and that turned me off. I think because it was to blatant and was not smoothly done. I’m not sure if I’ll read the next book or not but there is some interest in what his friends HEA’s will be.
Codename Romeo, by Lucy Leroux, is the first book in her new Rogues and Rescuers series which is set in the same world as her Singular Obsession series. It is a complete standalone, however many characters from the other series show up, so it's more fun to read the others. I received an ARC of the book so I won't include spelling/grammar/continuity errors in my review as I expect them to be fixed before publication.
This book is a romantic action adventure story. Ethan, the hero, is definitely more rescuer than rogue and immediately jumps in to help a woman and her daughter even though he wants them out of his apartment building. Juliet, the heroine, is a single mother struggling to take care of her daughter. Ethan and Juliet slowly build a relationship built on trust, compassion and friendship. Ethan knows that Juliet is hiding some things from him, but he allows her to learn to trust him over time. There's mystery and adventure to their story as well as human drama and a grounded romance. It's a wonderful story.
This relationship is a slower build, but the plot does grow nicely around it. For those who've read the Singular Obsession books, you'll enjoy seeing some of your past favorites. For those who haven't read the first series, I guarantee you'll want to read them once you get through this one. I also can't wait to read the next books in this spin off series.
This is a safe read with no OW/OM drama and no cheating. There is some explicit language and sex in the book. There is also references to gun violence, so please be warned if that's a trigger for you. I loved the book and definitely recommend it.
I received an ARC from Booksprout in exchange for my unbiased and honest opinion.
I was totally floored by this book! Once I picked it up, I could not put it down. Ethan and Juliet were amazing, bright, determined, passionate characters whose interactions, banter, and intrenal dialog kept this book going at a rapid, breathtaking pace.
Ethan is an FBI agent who is also removing a building. During a dnowstorm, his last tenant, Juliet, gets deathly ill, and he must take care of both her and her infant (Luna).
While they are staying with Ethan, relationships build. He falls in love with Luna (and she adores him), and he also falls unquestionably for Juliet (she likewise). However, problems remain. Secrets have been kept, and while Ethan was understanding, both his girls are now in danger!
Ethan, being decorated at his job, has been working a massive Russian mafia/cartel case. But when his informant goes AWOL, trying to ensure 'the girls' stay safe, Ethan is not pleased. He knows some the massive cartel casualties have the informant's name on them. But, he's got other problems. BIGGER problems!
What kind of problems could be bigger than that? Not tellin' - get Codename Romeo and find out. The constant action and twists will keep you guessing. Will Ethan get a HEA, or was his payment for helping a woman and her child nothing but a bleeding, broken, shattered heart?
*I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest, unbias review.
I really liked the premise of the story,, but the guy is just meh. He’s a creep. And that makes the book harder to read since the story is from his point of view.
He was checking out the heroine while she was so sick she passed out… like that’s just so uncomfortable for me to read.. like I understand that maybe he couldn’t help it, but I don’t need to read that.. and a decent person would slap themselves in the face for dwelling on such thoughts in such a situation.
Anw I decided to ignore that bit and read along … but theeeen,
When he was changing the toddler’s diaper, he realized the kid was a girl and was thinking whether he should be touching her? Like whaaaaat? … I was thinking “aww how wholesome” then I suddenly read this? .. like what? What ordinary person would think that?
I’d say the normal way to think would be “ugh ew im touching poop” or “maaan that stinks” or something.. not whatever the author decided to go with for this part.
Like it just made that whole scene feel so uncomfortable and creepy … for no reason whatsoever.
I couldn’t get past these 2 scenes,, it might be a good book with good character development,, but I just disliked the main dude so much that I just decided to drop it.
Maybe it's just me but I didn't feel any chemistry. Every thing seemed to happen at such a fast pace that it felt too rushed. And the part of that case he was working on was a big distraction for me. Why was that important to the story? Nope, didn't feel relatable. Didn't feel like the characters were memorable.
This romantic suspense novel deserves more than a 5⭐ rating!
This book switches back and forth between being serious, scary, to LOL moments, ah, isn't that cute moments, and then to human trafficking, multiple murders, and kidnapping of loved ones. Tucked in between are the love stories between a mother and child, a man and a woman, and the stranger who fell so in love with a toddler that he wants nothing less than becoming her father.
FBI agent Ethan Thomas and Mason Lang have been best friends since they were Tennessee grade schoolers. Mason convinced Ethan and Ethan's friend, Donovan Carter, that they should invest in something that could earn them enough money to be able to interest the type of woman they'd all like to someday claim. Ethan had had contact with entrepreneurs and hoteliers. He's the one who suggested buying the apartment building as an investment. They were going to be the city's newest real estate moguls.
Mason, Ethan, and Ethan's partner at the FBI, Jason, are trying to do as much of the building renovation as possible to save money. Thanks to Jason, Ethan now has reliable heating in his apartment. Jason's wife is a co-owner of a five-star hotel, where they live in a suite.
Mason is now a mercenary and is out of the country on a job. Donovan is somewhere in Africa with Doctors Without Borders. Before leaving, Mason allowed a young woman to stay in one of the apartments in the building. Sure, she had signed a lease with the slumlord they purchased the building from. But the apartment must be renovated before it's legal for anyone to reside there. Mason insists she's not someone who would ever sue them for allowing her to live there. Ethan isn't so sure. He's been trying to evict her, but she's very good at becoming invisible, and he's been unable to find her. When he tried to return her rent, but she shoved the envelope of money into his mailbox.
Then one night, as he comes home from work, he finds a toddler in the hallway. As he's corralling the toddler, the mother appears, but she collapses at his feet. With a blizzard approaching the city, he decides to take care of them until he can learn her story.
Luna belongs to Julietta, or Julie, as she prefers. Luna might be tiny, but nevertheless, she was able to almost incapacitate Ethan when she knocked him down and he landed on his bum knee. If pro football teams ever draft women, Luna should be a shoo-in! She also had him changing his first diaper. He'd rather face armed suspects, thank you very much. Also, he can now ever eat off of his new coffee table after she took a dump on it. If he'd known what was in store for him, he would have borrowed a gas mask from work.
Ethan isn't a man who's normally not afraid of anything, but tiny Luna scares him! He's never been around a tiny human 24/7 before, but Luna soon has him wrapped around her little finger. He's never been as scared as much as he was when she was kidnapped!

This is the first spin-off book from the Singular Obsession series; the new series is called Rogues and Rescuers, which is certainly à propos. If you’ve listened to or read any of the Singular Obsession books, you'll be at least peripherally familiar with the hero of this book, Ethan, an FBI agent. Often the other heroes in that series were either trying to hide something from their friend Ethan or needing his help! This is Ethan and Julieta's story. Ethan's a bit of a player, but all that changes during a blizzard when he and the heroine are forced together while she is very ill, so ill that she’s barely conscious when he finds her … and her little girl is wandering around. He is a protector by nature, even if he's a bit grumbly about it and doesn't quite know what to do with her toddler daughter. He's so cute and sweet with her, though. It always softens the hero when he's good with kids. In fact, one of my favorite later scenes came a little later in the book after the blizzard had passed and they are all with his group of friends’ families, and Ethan has a very serious discussion with his very young godson about consent! Through the forced proximity and gradually coming to appreciate that the heroine is in danger, Ethan becomes more and more protective and eventually cares for the heroine and her little girl. Of course, things have to get bad before the end, but the hero does a fantastic job for the woman he's come to love and her little girl who has spontaneously started to call him Daddy. I listened to the audiobook version of this story, and the narrator did well on certain things—like the little girl's voice she was able to make so endearing, even her simple phrases—yet other parts weren't good. The one that perhaps drove me the most crazy was how often the Mexican heroine sounded more like she was from Russia rather than Mexico! In my mind, those accents are completely different! A thoroughly enjoyable listen, though, and I am looking forward to more in this series.
I received a promo code for this audiobook, but that did not affect my review.
FBI agent Ethan is working in his off hours to renovate an apartment building. He's begun to think about settling down, but is convinced he needs something more than himself to offer to a partner. He doesn't see that the good man he is will be enough for the right woman, after finding out that his long-time crush is out of his reach forever. The imagined rejection has soured his disposition while making him yearn for the happiness his friends have found.
Working to renovate an apartment building that is hopefully the start of a real estate empire and financial security, he finds the lone tenant of his under-construction apartment building nearly delirious in the hallway. With a blizzard hitting the city, he has no choice but to take her and her daughter in to watch over them until Julie overcomes her illness. His disappointment at losing his crush and being alone have driven Ethan to be gruff and a bit aggressive with those around him. As he spends time caring for Julie and her child, these rough edges begin to soften and you get to meet the protective, loving man underneath the harsh exterior.
When Julie's past catches up with her, Ethan will have to put everything on the line to save her and the child. His skills and experience will be put to the test to save those who have become so dear to him.
The balance of the developing relationship between Ethan and Julie and the mystery surrounding her past will pull you in and not let go. A fast-paced, suspense-filled romance read.
I've been following Lucy Leroux's Singular Obsession series from the first book. Filled with alpha males and the strong women who love them, it was a treat to read this first book in a new spin-off series featuring a character from that series.
Ethan is an FBI agent and a future landlord. He and his best friends have just invested in an apartment building that they will renovate as an investment. His partners are out of the country on their jobs while he is stuck seeing to the renovations. Ethan is angry when he learns that one of his friends gave one tenant extra time before forcing her to move. Julie is a single mother who is new to the country. Ethan know he should get rid of her but she is avoiding her. Then the city is hit with a huge blizzard and he runs into Baby Luna wondering the hallway. He grabs her and finds Julie staggering through the hallway. At first he thinks she is drunk but he quickly figures out she is very sick. With the blizzard, Ethan has no alternative but to take care of these two angels.
Julie has entered the country illegally and is in hiding. She is doing her best to take care of Luna but being on the run makes it hard. She has been avoiding her landlord because she has no place she can stay yet if he kicks her out. Then she gets sick and Ethan takes really good care of her and her daughter. She is starting to have feelings for him and feel comfortable being around him. Then she learns he is an FBI agent and she knows she has to get away. He will never understand why there is a warrant out for her in Mexico.

This story was a little slow in the beginning BUT towards the middle it got really good. Things happened that I never expected. Ethan was hilarious with "the kid" he had no clue what he was doing with that baby. And he called her "little moon". It was the sweetest. He was such a sweet and funny guy. I loved the way he was with his partner and friends. Juliet was so sweet and I felt so bad for her once I found out her story. She was so scared and didn't know what to do. The plot was intense and fun figuring out what was going on. The smut level was perfect. It was too steamy but it had some heat to it.

Entertaining story with a good mix of sweet and steamy. I wasn't a huge fan of the premise, but I liked both characters and the bits of suspense added to the story. Listening with Audible was a good experience. The narrator did a good job; she had a nice tone to her voice. Recommend listening if you have the chance. Ethan is a nice guy with a sweetheart. Loved how protective and supportive he is of Julia and Luna. I liked Julia okay; she's a bit too much damsel for my liking, but she has her moments of strength. Ethan and his friends have purchased an old apartment building that they are renovating for themselves. Julia and toddler Luna live in the last apartment left with tenants, but Ethan has been trying to get her to move so they can finish renovations. A snow storm and an illness get in the way of any plans of Julia finding somewhere else to live. Ethan ends up being a lot more involved in Julia and Luna's lives than he ever expected, and Julia has some secrets that may prove dangerous. I wasn't fully a fan of Julia dodging her landlords and how she came to live in the US, but the story does have some interesting elements that kept the story entertaining. Overall, a good story that has me looking forward to more!
Ethan is left to renovate an apartment building he and his friends invested in when they have to take a step back for their own reasons. He is trying to chase down the last tenant, but she has somehow managed to evade him every time. One day, he discovers a toddler wandering the building and reunites her with her mother, who in a twist of fate, is the tenant he has been trying to reach out to. Unfortunately, she is incredibly sick and he is forced to look after them both.
Juliet had been burned in the past and was reluctant to trust Ethan with either herself or her daughter but after a while she starts to thaw towards him. She has her moments where doubts and memories of the past hold her back but she tries to keep an open mind about a romance with him.
The chemistry between these characters is incredibly heart melting. The way they draw you into their orbit is incredible. And the adorableness of the little girl who was able to thaw Ethan's closed off heart was cute to read.
