After a bad breakup, former bodybuilder Jett Channing decides to go on a girlfriend diet. So when his normal responsibilities as a forest ranger are interrupted by a request to search for a missing camper, he jumps at the chance to work off his wounded pride by doing something so meaningful and worthwhile.
Gwyneth Moore can’t believe her business partner and boyfriend of three years is dumping her for an anemic-looking supermodel. Too crushed to return to her job as a university research scientist, she decides to take the afternoon off to study a rare breed of flowers at the Rocky Mountain National Park.
When she slips down a steep incline and becomes trapped on a narrow ledge, she is stunned speechless to discover the super-hot “Fighter” Jet Channing from TV is the one who’s been sent to her rescue. Maybe it’s her dehydration and exposure to the elements taking over, but Gwyneth finds herself crushing all over the swoon-worthy ranger who’s literally trying to talk her off the ledge in a daring rescue attempt. And it’s way too bad, he’s not looking for a new girlfriend, because that’s exactly the vacancy she wants to fill if she survives the night!
Step into the world of Disaster City Search and Rescue, where officers, firefighters, military, and medics, train and work alongside each other with the dogs they love, to do the most dangerous job of all — help lost and injured victims find their way home.
Another sweet and happily ever after from an international best selling author! It was a pleasure reading this book. I don't usually read contemporary romances but if it's something this good I wouldn't think twice about buying it. It's just definitely wonderful. The characters and the story are enticing and I've read this in one sitting! That's how good it is.
Another wonderful addition to the Diaster City Search and Rescue series, where each book will read well as a stand-alone. They are clean stories, with plenty of action and adventure, and usually involve at least one life and death search and rescue. “Disaster City Search and Rescue is a place where officers, firefighters, military, and medics, train and work alongside each other with the dogs they love, to do the most dangerous job of all — help lost, and injured victims find their way home.”
Jett Channing has gone from former body-building champion to now working as a Forest Ranger at Sam Houston National. Forest He will be leading field trips when they get a call of a hiker over a cliff on a ledge, and no one is available to go on the rescue. Jett will repel down to Gwyneth Moore and then take her to the hospital. Even during a crisis and the rescue, Gwyneth has a sense of humor.
“Believe me; it’s not the first time I’ve been accused of being a tree hugger.”
The story will involve both Jett and Gwyneth coming out of bad breakup relationships, and neither one planning on finding anyone soon. Gwyneth has recently landed a coveted position of department chair and lead research scientist at the College of Science & Engineering at Sam Houston State University. She has a unique assistant, Echo Marcello. Jett had just sworn off of dating—but then Gwyneth falls into his world.
“Jett blew out a pent-up breath of air and shook his head. Yeah, it looked like his girlfriend diet was well and truly over. He wanted to date this woman, plain and simple.”
What a surprise when the forest service wants to send Jett away for more schooling, and to get his own K-9 partner for a newly opening search and rescue position. But that will mean he will be away to several schools, and away from Gwyneth. How will their newfound relationship handle the absence? Will this be a test of feelings?
“Is everything alright, babe? With us, I mean? If you and I are meant to be, it’ll still be here when I get back.” --Jett
“You just turned my whole world upside down. It’s so much so soon. I’m happy. I’m terrified. I don’t even know what to say next.” --Gwyneth
The story will take a turn when Gwyneth’s former celebrity boyfriend decides he wants her back, and she doesn’t want him. She will make an unplanned trip to visit Jett in Dallas, against the advice of Echo, and the weather service. When a storm strikes, seconds count. Will Jett and his new K-9 partner, Major, find Gwyneth before it’s too late?
The story is clean, contemporary, with life and death situations, with Christian elements that aren’t preachy, accepting changes, and people working out relationships.
The Rebound Rescue is book 2 in the Disaster Search and Rescue series. Books in this series focus on the work of officers, firefighters, and other first responders who use dogs in their work. Throw in a little sweet romance and you have the makings for a good story. Jo Grafford’s novels are short and sweet and a quick-read. I found The Rebound Rescue to be about a 2-hour read. Readers are quickly introduced to the characters at the start of the book. The plot moves quickly as well. There is a far amount of action which keeps readers reading. In The Rebound Rescue, Jett is a forester who is just getting into the field of search and rescue. Gwyneth is a botanist with an interest in rare plants. Because this is a clean romance with just a little kissing, teens would probably enjoy The Rebound Rescue. There isn’t anything in the book to keep me from adding it to my k-12 Christian School library. I am a member of the Cuppa Jo Readers and received a complimentary copy of The Rebound Rescue. This is my honest review.
Can love at first sight actually happen? A wonderful story about two people, not looking for love or a relationship due to some really bad one's. But sometimes fate just drops a person right off the edge into your line of sight! Jeff, a forest ranger, goes to the rescue of a hiker who had fallen over a cliff ledge. Gwyneth didn't expect needing to be rescued, but she wouldn't have met Jeff! I loved these two characters and the banter between them and how quickly their relationship grows. But it will be tested as the Forest Service wants to send Jeff to school for a new search and rescue position and he would get his own K-9 partner! With their relationship so new, he worries how being apart will work. A sweet story of new love and the trust that has to build penned by the fabulous Jo Grafford will leave you with a sigh and smile at the end!
Loved this book! Gwyneth slips over the edge and is hanging precariously on the mountain so she needs to be rescued - gasp!!!! Enter a former body building champion, now forest ranger, Jett! I sure would want him to be my rescuer!!! He's certainly strong enough!!!! He's also hounded by the paparazzi constantly and recently had a breakup so he's on a dating diet but one look into Gwyneth's beautiful eyes and he's rethinking that strategy! Love at First Sight - hmmmm, he's never believed it until now! I really enjoyed these characters and this story! Gwyneth's assistant, Echo, is such fun! I definitely recommend this!
I love Jo Grafford's stories, and this one did not disappoint. She tells of two people who are on the rebound from failed relationships; neither is looking for a new relationship. Jett is a body builder champ/forest ranger. Gwenyth is a university research scientist. When Gwenyth falls over a cliff onto a ledge while looking for a rare plant, Jett is sent to rescue her. There are sparks between them, although both try to resist. Read on to find out what happens between them. It's a great story; well worth reading.
What a refreshing book, two people who accidentally found fame but shy from the spotlight, this makes a lovely change to those chasing fame and fortune. Gwen and Jett are so cute together as they banter backwards and forwards and especially when they geek out together over Gwen's research. Their chemistry is instant, but just because it is fast doesn't mean its not real..does it? It does if others have their way! A great Kindle Unlimited read in the Disaster City Search and Rescue series, please, please, please tell me Gwen's kick ass assistant gets a book too! She is awesome!
This was a great book on love and how rescue dogs get their notoriety. The park ranger who rescued the professor was happy to be able to help someone and still do his job. The professor was just a day away from a very public breakup with her former boyfriend. This was a free book and one I would recommend everyone to read and enjoy. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has plenty of adventure and depth to be satisfying. Love the characters; Echo especially. She is a gem. Love her sense of humour, her passion, and her excellent skills. The only thing I didn't like was Jett calling Gwyneth "babe". I know it can be a term of endearment, i just find it demeaning. Personal preference issue there. Otherwise it would have received 5 stars.
When Jett and Gwenyth meet they have both experienced a measure of fame though neither of them is entirely comfortable with it. As the story unfolds we see more of who they are: kind, private, energetic and cautious about trusting others. She’s not convinced their emotions are real and he’s determined not to be her rebound. I enjoyed these characters and the supporting cast. It was nice to have characters from earlier stories make an appearance. This might be my favorite in this series.
The Rebound Rescue is a Christian, heartwarming, inspirational romance. This well written book tells the story of Jett, former body building champion, now forest ranger and search and rescue dog handler, and Gwyneth, a research scientist who finds a rare flower. This is a tale about being all you can be and the guts and determination it takes to get there. This mesmerizing adventure had me glued to the book. I was shouting "More, more . . . " when I reached the end.
I was totally hooked from the first page. I loved the characters so much and it seemed as if we were close friends. This is such a fantastic story and is my favorite out of this series. It was so fun but there were some deep emotional touches to it too. With rescues, love, and Major the rescue dog, I couldn’t put this book down! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
This page turner is a quick read, but filled with defined characters and events. Loved reading this. After living in Texas , I found myself picturing the places, roads and yes events that occur. The storyline hooks ones interest throughout the book. You wont want to put it down.
A nice short love story of a former body builder who is recently single and on a dating break until he rescues a beautiful scientist who recently had a breakup. But God put these two together for a reason and the story follows their short but powerful journey to forever.
Once again Jo Grafford has brought us a wonderful story with romance, humor, danger, rescue dogs and excellent characters. Who knew that a scientist could get into so many dangerous situations. It was good to go back to Disaster City Search and Rescue. I hope we get to meet up with Major again, oh and Jett, Gwenyth and Echo.
Jett and Gwenyth are used to the paparazzi spotlight but they both hate it. When he saved her they become friends. Is it too soon to become more? Great story, fun characters not just Jett and Gwenyth but Echo ( hoping for her own story soon) and of course Major. I loved the trust building between Jett and Major. Great new series!
Loved Jett and Gwyneth's story!! Jett's more than a bodybuilder, but most don't care, they only see him for the $$ and "glamour" of being with a famous person. Gwyneth sees him as more. She's been there and done that with someone else, and to find Jett is genuine is great! Of course, they have a few things to work out, but they get their HEA in the end.
I enjoyed this book. Something about the dialogue between Jet Channing and Gwenyth Moore touched my heart. Got to admit that Gwenyth’s lab assistant Echo, was a zany, quirky character that deserves her own book and HEA. Enjoying reading the Disaster City Search and Rescue series. Thank you Jo Grafford for the books you have written.
A quick read of rescue, love and adventure when a Forest Ranger rescued a beautiful scientist who fell over a cliff getting a rare flower for scientific research. Things build up quickly between them but they have both recently ended relationships so could this possibly be real?
The Rebound Rescue: A K9 Handler Romance (Disaster City Search and Rescue Book 2)
Gwyneth and Jett meet when she almost kills herself falling off a cliff looking for a plant. Jeff saves her and he really taken by her. They both connect and they really fall for each other fast. A very nice romance.
The Rebound Rescue is an opposites attract love story. It’s a beautiful story with strong leading ladies and men which is part of Grafford’s signature writing style. Grafford’s descriptive writing is her superpower. She fills her stories with descriptions of her scenes, characters and moments, which also brings skilful character development and great romance in her relationships.
This was such a sweet romance that started from him saving her from an accident. Neither was wanting a relationship because both were getting over bad breakups. What started slowly sped up in a whirlwind of love so deep that it scared them both. This has been a very refreshing clean series that I’ve enjoyed so much book after book.
Oh, I know I have told you all how much I liked each book and just can’t figure out how they get better and better, well here we go again. When I said these two are quite the opposite they are, like night and day. But THE LOVE THEY HAVE FOR EACH OTHER, oh me oh my. Enjoy!!!
What a great read with fast paced action. Can a body builder turned Forest Ranger pass the requirements for Search and Rescue K9 division? Can a geeky Scientist find love again with a hunky Ranger?
So good! I read this in a day. I laughed and gasped at all Gwenyth went through. Thankfully she had a hero to come to her rescue. Loved her assistant, Echo too. She was so much fun. If you like clean, wholesome, fun stories, I highly recommend 'The Rebound Rescue'.
This is a refreshing as well as thrilling romance with adorable and heart racing moments that will keep you read their journey towards unconditional love from beginning til the very end.
Gwenyth goes into the forest to study a rare flower after a unexpected breakup with her boyfriend. She ends up stranded when she falls but it is Jett who comes to her rescue. This is their story how they meet and the relationship developed. Wonderful story and characters.
Double the rescue, double the fun. Love at first sight? Maybe? Growing to appreciate someone totally different from yourself? Probably. Both parties smart and amazing? Big yes in this one.
Jett is tasked with finding a professor who has went missing. He does and instantly falls for her. She falls for him also. He gets the chance to train with the best of the best. Can they make it work? This is a great story.
I really liked this book. It was too fast and small but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I liked how they didn't give up in each other. Jett knew what he wanted and Gwyneth was so sweet, they were so good together
