Deacon Wright, a Gargoyle with a heart as large as his body, feels too much of everything. He doesn’t believe he's good enough for his mate. She’s beautiful as well as smart, and she deserves more than a commoner who works as assistant warden at the Penitentiary.
Sabrina Bailey is the oncologist treating one of the Stone Society’s own. She has devoted her life to saving others, and her career is all she has. A past relationship ended traumatically, making her leery of trying again. Unable to avoid the pull she feels for Deacon, the handsome man visiting her patient, she lets her guard down and agrees to one date.
Someone begins stalking Sabrina, leaving her cryptic notes, and she suddenly finds herself protected by Deacon and his Clan. Close proximity has the two falling fast as they work to figure out the clues being left by a stranger.
Meanwhile, Drago is amping up efforts to build an army in America to fight the Stone Society by chemically altering the Unholy.
Book 12 is filled with twists and turns, love and family.
Faith Gibson lives outside Nashville, Tennessee with the love of her life, and her four-legged best friend. She began writing in high school and over the years, penned many stories and poems.
When her dreams continued to get crazier than the one before, she decided to keep a dream journal. Many of these night-time escapades have led to a line, a chapter, and even a complete story.
When asked what her purpose in life is, she will say to entertain the masses. Even if it’s one person at a time. When Faith isn’t hard at work on her next story, she can be found reading, cooking, playing in the dirt (planting stuff) or playing with her staffy pup.
As a woman of color who loves this series, I was very pleased to see a couple like me. I have imagined that since there are Goyle's world wide there would be a variety to go along with the Greeks and Italians. I don't remember a description of Deacon prior to this book and the cover didn't look African American to me.
This book was a pleasant surprise in the series. When Deacon first ran across Dr. Bailey in Urijah's book I couldn't imagine the drama that would surround their story.
Sabrina had a tough childhood and she overcame that to become a great doctor. Her side story of having a briefly abusive relationship is what I thought would be the impediment to their union.
Deacon was kind of a hidden gem. He was just kind of a backround player. Getting to understand his gift and his personality was nice. His quiet reserve and gentle nature served to help Sabrina come around in their relationship.
It appears that Sabrina is being stalked and Deacon and crew are tasked to watch over her as they investigate the stalking. ln the meantime, Dr. Mooneyham has said when he retires he would be recommending her to replace him as cheif of staff. At 36, Sabrina isn't too sure about long term relationships and children but Deacon has her thinking about it.
As they watch over her, Deacon asks her out and she accepts. We discover that Deacon is an empath and at times he has to isolate himself from people's overwhelming feelings. He thinks because Sabrina is a doctor thatbhe isn't good enough fornher because he's just a Warden.
They soon start getting to know each other and he reveals the truth to her almost instantly. She agrees to take it slow so she can digest the information.
The identity of her "stalker" is revealed and the story ensues from there. After a misunderstanding, she agrees to maye Deacon and they pretty much live happily ever after. Deacon's one fear was that he wouldn't be able to handle having kids and dealing with their emotions. They agree to wait a while.
Great story arc in the continuing storyline and I look forward to the next book.
I love the Stone society and Rafael is still my favorite. However Deacon does give him a run for his money being such a gentle giant. His love Sabrina and willingness to oust aside everything to see to her happiness just floors me.
That letter from Jonathan had me crying so hard. OMG how talented you are to be able to bring that love to life and have it jump off the page into your own heart.
Deacon knew Sabrina was his mate. How could he not, with her being Jonathon's oncologist and his seeing/scenting her daily! He thought he wasn't worthy of the smart, skilled woman, but after a couple 'talking to' speeches by his fellows, he asks her on a date. In the meantime, something very odd is going on with the Unholy. The goyles on patrol notice one using a phone and a group marching in formation, unheard of in the mindless monsters. So, they capture one and learn the Greeks have found a way to reverse most of the symptoms of the original serum. Then Sabrina is being stalked. No spoilers, but a number of good things happen towards the end of the book, with one very sorrowful one. Excellent addition to the series!
Lots of strong feelings take place in this story. So be ready for anything. Deacon is a strong person who has ro deal with his empathic abilities every second of every day. Sabrina is the oncologist that is taking care of Jonathon. He knows she is his mate when he first saw her montha ago but he felt as if she was above him because she is a doctor. Sabrina seemed wishy washy at first when she wanted Deacon but then didn't a couple of times. She definitely had trust issues, but she grew through the book. This author's stories are filled with so much passion it pulls you right in. Whether it is love, hate, frienship, family, in life or death, her characterizations are strong enough that it brings the feelings straight to the reader's heart.
I like these books because of the family and the background situations. The time between mates is usually boring unless they are on an adventure together. This book doesn't have an adventure. On the upset of that, at least no one gets kidnapped.
Deacon and Sabrina are pretty boring people. They made for a boring couple.
There are only a couple of small developments with Drago. We'll, maybe more but nothing major.
There is one twist within the clan that I didn't see coming but it didn't really impact anything. It was actually a strange twist to have.
This is probably my 3rd least favorite in the series with books 3 and 4 being at the bottom.
Deacon and Sabrina's story was truly captivating.I really enjoyed their interactions with each other. The situations were really down to earth; we all feel not deserving sometimes. The situations are made up of families whether blood or not sticking together. 😍
Love, LOVE, this book. One of the most satisfying books in this series. I stopped following this series for a while but picking it up again after finding out Connor’s book was released was great! I will forever miss Jon but also excited about Sebastian and his family’s adventures ❤️
The story of Sabrina and Deacon brought many emotions. This book is a two Kleenex edition. It has everything. Sorrow, loss, anger, relief, happiness, steamy romance and family. I would start with book one but this is a must read!!
This was a really good book that kept me reading for hours. I love the way Deacon found his mate right from the beginning. He was so sure of himself and followed thru till he got the girl. Great storyline and very good book. I can't wait to read the next book.
Love this series so much. It really shows that family is everything no matter if you was born into it or brought in from the outside into the loving arms of a new family.
Deacon is the 12th book in the Stone Society. I don’t believe you have to read them in order but as someone else has said that it would be more enjoyable having read them in order. That way you will know who is whom. I have spent every enjoyable moment I have with these gargoyles!!! I am so glad that Deacon finally spoke to Faith Gibson for her to write his story!
Deacon Wright is an assistant warden at the Penitentiary and Sabrina Bailey is an oncologist who is treating one of the Stone Society own. As in how the gargoyles have met their mates is how he knows that Sabrina is his mate. They both feel a pull towards each other and their relationship is fast!
I thought that this book was one of the most emotional ones out of the series. I cried sad tears and I cried happy tears. I loved Deacon and Sabrina’s story. I have an addiction to these gargoyles and I can’t let a book go by without reading this whole series and now there is a spin off from this series Waging War is a story with Gryphon shifters and these Gargoyles show up in Waging War.
I absolutely LOVE the Stone Society Series. This series is a MUST READ if you love paranormal/fantasy type books and if you aren’t sure if you love this type of book I highly encourage you to give this series a try! You never know you may just fall in love with a gargoyle or two!!! 10+ STARS!
Deacon (The Stone Society book 12) by Faith Gibson- It is now Deacon's turn at finding a mate. He is empathetic and feels more than he can some times bear. With Jonathan fighting his cancer he runs into oncologist Sabrina Bailey. She has had a hard life and has been determined to make something of herself. When she meets Deacon she is taken aback. His sheer size should have her running for her life especially due to her past experience. However there is a pull that will not allow her to stay away. Deacon knows she is his mate. But he doesn't feel worthy since she is a doctor and he is a prison guard. I love this series and this book did not disappoint. The author's storytelling skills always pulls me in and her character development allows me to want to know more about each of them. Deacon and Sabrina's journey to their mating was a world wind and I was caught up in their love. New characters were introduced while we had to say goodbye. Have your tissues ready!!!! Another 5 stars for me. Curious as to who the next book will be about. It really doesn't even matter because anyone the author chooses I know I will love to read about along with catching up with all the others. That is why I also love this series, I get my fix of the other cast of characters
Deacon is so damn yummy he is giving my favorite goyle, Frey, a run for his money! (But Frey is still my favorite.) You can learn about the story from the blurb, so I don't need to spill the beans. But what the blurb doesn't say is how much I loved this book. I'm not gonna lie, there were a couple of parts that had me grabbing for the tissues, but then that was cured with the perfect injection of romance or humor. Yeah, the perfect recipe for a fabulous story can be found within the pages of Deacon! Deacon is written a little differently than the previous Stone Society books. In this one we don't have to wait to find out who his mate is, the author mixed it up a bit and shows us right away, I loved that! The thing that didn't change were the essential ingredients that made Deacon's story exciting and a definite page turner. From the intrigue to the soft moments between new mates, Deacon and Sabrina, this book kept me wanting, no needing, more. Before I go, I'll leave you with this tidbit... If you're a fan of the Stone Society, Deacon is a hurry up, one click and get to reading book. There are so many juicy parts that you won't want to miss. I rate this book a solid 5 stars and hope to get the next edition of the series soon.
I absolutely love The Stone Society and I can’t believe this author is still coming up with unique storylines with number12 in the series!! But she does and this story doesn’t disappoint. Sabrina’s childhood was tragic but she overcomes all of the obstacles that were set in her path to become an oncologist. Deacon knows she is his mate the first time he goes in Johnathan’s room but doesn’t think he is good enough for her. He believes that she could do so much better than a prison warden. But jobs don’t come into play with matters of the heart. I love how the previous couples and their children make appearances throughout this book. Conner with his special ability is pivotal and Trevor with his humor interjects a lightheartedness to a heavy story. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!!!
I have thoroughly enjoyed each story in the series. I can’t decide if Sixx or Deacon is my favorite. Deacon was someone I can see being friends with. I liked how his character wasn’t 100 self assured. He was real. The story line was outstanding. It read well. Evenly paced. I think I will go read it again.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
That was very dad and I cried about Johnathan. Hopefully Sebastian will b ok and I was shocked about prescilla. Thank God they were able 2 save a few people and hopefully they will make more of a difference in the future. I don't quite get that asshole Dr from the baby ward. I soooo can't wait 4 more asap!!
This series has been one of my favorites, but I was disappointed in this book. I kept reading thinking it would eventually get to the exciting part but it never did. I was so bored that I skimmed through some parts just to get on with it. Hope the next one is better.
As I am writing this review I am still an emotional mess. Each book on this series keeps getting better. This story has become my favorite. I love this characters, their unconditional love and the twist. Congratulations and can't wait for the next one.
once again the author has brought the characters alive in this 12th addition to the stone society with Deacon. As usual I was unable to put it down once I started reading.
