It starts with healing her body. That sweet skin, that gorgeous smile. She’s my latest physical therapy patient, and I don’t mind stretching her out one bit.
But something’s off with her injury. It doesn’t match her story. When I find out the truth, I know I need to make sure nothing ever hurts her again.
That’s when I make her all mine. Every single inch of her, mine.
But her rich a-hole father isn’t about to let her go. He thinks he can use her as a pawn in his business dealings.
I’m not about to let her get taken advantage of again. She’s mine now, and I don’t let anyone touch what I own.
I don’t care about right or wrong. I only care about her.
Get ready!! Possessive Doctor is a steamy alpha possessive love story with a hero that absolutely has to own what’s his… and won’t ever let go. If you like your main man a little rough and a lot steamy, you’re going to love Brent. As always, it’s a full length standalone with no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after. Enjoy!! BB
This was a good story about a girl, Amber Gibbons, who goes to a physical therapy clinic for a broken femur, which is the largest bone in the human body and pretty difficult to break. She gets the Doctor instead of one of the regular physical therapists because they are short on staff that day and the Doctor, Brent Lofthouse, is attracted to Amber but also wonders about her injury which she says was caused in an auto accident. Though after looking at her X-rays and scans, Brent thinks it could only have been caused in some sort of fall.
Brent has Amber schedule future therapy visits with him and tries to question her further about what happened to her leg. Brent even gives her his cell number and flirts with her in text messages and tries to get more information from her but she shuts him down until one night when she feels in danger and calls him for help.
Amber’s Father hurt her and she needs Brent to help her, which Brent steps up to do. I like the story because it is unpredictable Ambers father is rich from finding oil in Texas and wants to get richer. Brent comes from a very wealthy old money family in Virginia. It is crazy to see some of the things they do.
Also some parts of the book just don’t make sense to me. Like the first time Amber goes to Brent for help. She explains that her Dad was the one that hurt her and why. He says yes he will help her, yet instead of saying she can stay with him, he brings her back home to her Dads place. I don’t get that. It isn’t like she is under age.
Also when he does start helping her and takes her to his family home, her Dad goes to the press and says Brent kidnapped her and that Brent was her doctor so it is unethical. Brent tell his Mother he will go to the press and clear things up, but his mother says that will make things worse and bring more attention to their family. I don’t understand why that would be bad when Ambers father is already bringing so much bad attention. They could just have Amber say that her Father abused her and Brent is protecting her and that would be that. The focus would go to Mr. Gibbons.
Anyway, things don’t always make perfect sense in books and in movies so we have to just go with the flow sometimes. And overall I enjoyed this book. The romance between Brent and Amber was steamy and not insta-Love, they took their time moving up to from attraction to saying those three little words. I think they could have solved some of Ambers problems by getting married themselves but the fact that they didn’t just jump into a quickie marriage just to foil Ambers father was a good thing.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
I was willing to overlook the stiff dialogue and the almost insta-love, I was even ok with the dr/patient deal because I knew about it going in. The premise wasn't half bad at the beginning but then it just went downhill, and quickly. So. much. stupidity. You're mega, old money, wealthy, but you can't outmaneuver a crass oil baron? A simple retaliation in kind of media coverage about the real story would have taken care of the issue. Amber was over 21, there wasn't a legal thing her father could do. All she had to do was do one media interview telling her side of the story and the negative publicity would have turned on her father. But no, instead you buy a ranch for 10 times it's value, for no reason I might add and then turn around and give it to the a-hole father??? It was almost a DNF for me but I kept going because I thought for sure her father would get what was coming to him...nope, he made out like a bandit, and pretty much won on every point. These are the times I miss actual books - when it would be satisfying to throw it across the room.
B.B. Hamel never disappoints. I absolutely loved this book. Amber is the only child of a Texas tycoon, Samuel her father is a cruel man and only cares about money Brent is a Dr, son of old money and tries to stay away from his family. Brent Is Ambers Dr., he suspects that there is something not adding up with her story of how she broke her leg. The injury doesn’t line up with her story. He falls for Amber and fast. Her father is a controlling, cruel man. He has plans for Amber in exchange for money. Brent is Protective of Amber and decides to go to his family’s place to keep her safe. Both families have some serious issues. I couldn’t put this book down. Very well written, full of suspense, love, and greed. I was on a rollercoaster of emotions. I highly recommend there boo. You will fall in love with the main characters
I received an advance copy for this book in exchange for my honest review .
3.5 stars i guess the part that didn't work well for me was before reaching that part i was forming all sorts of conspiracies like are they from some form of cult?? or are they just plain crazy?
however i do enjoy the doctor-patient part of the plot and the burning sexual tension between both of them. this was a nice read overall packed with some steamy moments.
I got to read this book as an arc... Absolutely loved this book. Brent and Amber has undeniable chemistry right from the start... Brent knew Amber was going to need his help. Once she realized this he knew he would protect her forever
Let me start by saying that I did finish the book. The basic plot could have been interesting but there was an obvious and easy solution to their problem that was completely ignored. If one doesn't want to be coerced to marry a particular person, then marry someone else. IMO it should have been acknowledged; the author could have written a way that it wouldn't be a viable solution and moved on instead of ignoring the elephant in the room.
I didn't like any of the characters. Brent was closed off. He wouldn't share with Amber what he was thinking or planning to do in order to help her. He tended to ignore the problem and assumed that simply being a Lofthouse would make the problem go away on its own. He whined about his family yet thought nothing of using their resources to try to protect her.
Amber was weak. She was happy to sit back and let Brent try to find solutions even though he repeatedly refused to tell her his plans. She never contributed any ideas about saving herself. Their relationship lacked warmth. It didn't grow past physical attraction.
Everybody, and I mean everybody, in the book was narcissistic. The only characters who weren't driven by greed were Brent and Amber. Her father was violent and would do absolutely anything to achieve his goals. Brent's family members ranged from apathetic to downright cruel.
The story line had great potential but the author dropped the ball on this one.
The high ratings must come from people who saw something here that I never saw. To me, it was nothing more than just another highly unlikely Scooby Doo Mystery. Abusive dad, potentially forced arranged marriage, run-away abused daughter, saved by ultra wealthy doctor, whisked away to Uber rich family home, wanted ad posted to Facebook, attacked by gardener, gardener beat senseless by doctor... Good grief, Scooby, what next? I have no idea. The further it went, the goofier it got. It was like the writer couldn’t decide which way to go, so just go every which way. By this point, it was so absurd I just deleted it from my kindle, and will leave this one for those who love it more.
This was awful, I can’t believe the good reviews. I’m super annoyed with this story. Her father is a bully and he suffered no consequences for physically abusing his daughter he actually got a 20 million dollar ranch for doing it. The H and his family are supposed to be so rich and powerful but they let this one guy do all of this and didn’t do one thing or didn’t say one word to stop it!
Ugghh (insert scream) this book made no sense it could’ve been solved by calling the police or if the H & h would’ve gotten married at the beginning. She could’ve stop this whole thing by telling the truth speaking to the police, getting the ER reports and the lack of accident reports. Why run home to a family that doesn’t have your back?? What was the point she wasn’t protected she was put in more harm. Please don’t waste your time on this book. It’s not at all the way the blurb portrays it.
I was going to give this book 2 stars bc the guy in the story was a wimp and not strong alpha. I like my make characters to be strong. But it got an extra star just for this “And I want to tell you that you’re a fucking asshole, Dad,” Amber says. I laugh and put a hand on her knee. “You’re getting ahead of yourself.” “I know. I can’t wait.” She struggles to her feet. “I’m almost crippled because of you. And this whole marriage thing was just your way of ruining my life. And then the ads and the morning shows? You’re the worst, most vile piece of shit ever to exist in this world. I never want to see you again.” He smiles in her face. “You done?” “I’m done. I hope you choke on your own vomit and die.” “Nice,” he says. “That’s right,” Amber says. You got it. And I hope you die alone on that land, because you’re scum.”
Brent And Amber Have Great Banter! Their Time Together At The Clinic Is Fun To Read About.
This is the first book in a new series. Don't forget to download the free bonus scene! Instructions are located at the back of the book.
Amber Gibbins, twenty-four, had been bedridden for weeks following her accident, her entire right leg in a cast. She hopes to put her University of Texas degree in business administration to use rather than sit around in her father's mansion just outside of Austin. They hardly speak since the accident. Unfortunately she is stuck with a cane and faces months or years of physical therapy before she can regain normal function in her leg. She is tired of being a victim but doesn't have many options while she remains dependent upon her dad, who values money above all else. He has changed since her mom died. Luck brought him overnight wealth a decade ago, and Gibbins Oil consumes him, hardening him. His greed trumps all.
Dr. Brent Lofthouse, thirty-four, sorely disappointed his crazy wealthy family when he went to medical school. They wanted him to trade stocks and live a life of leisure, but he wanted to make his own way and contribute to society. He became a physiatrist (a physical therapist with an MD) and founded his own physical therapy clinic near Austin. Having given up his playboy days years ago, he throws himself into his clinic, working tirelessly to ensure its success.
When Amber sees the gorgeous Dr. Lofthouse calling her name, she is immediately taken with him. Despite the inappropriateness, she flirts with him and is thrilled when she detects he is interested in her, too. But when he suggests her injury isn't from a car accident, as her records claim, his good looks, healing hands, and charming banter suddenly don't seem so tempting.
Brent is drawn to Amber and decides he will have her. Eventually. But he cannot ignore his concern about the nature of her injury. It was clearly a fall. And her reaction to his question confirms that she is covering something up. Concerned about her safety, he offers his number and promises to help.
Brent and Amber begin an unethical relationship, though it doesn't go far or long before Amber admits that her father is forcing her into an arranged marriage and won't take no for an answer. Brent's possessive and protective nature comes out full force as he works to rescue Amber and make her his. But keeping her safe from her wealthy father means taking her to Lofthouse Manor outside of Charlottesville, Virginia, where his dysfunctional family presents a new kind of danger. Their budding relationship is tested by their families, and no place is safe. The couple does eventually earn their HEA.
Brent and Amber have great banter! Their time together at the clinic is fun to read about, though both are a little naughty. Brent's concern for her satisfies her need for someone in her life that actually cares about how she feels. She indirectly leads him back home, and although that is riddled with problems, he was raised to value family.
There are some issues that merit mention. *Spoilers* First, between her father's abuse and her age, the idea that Amber's father might get away with his plans seems hard to swallow, despite his wealth. Second, leaving for Virginia without discussing arrangements for Brent's clinic in his absence feels off for a man that built the business and practically lives at work. Third, Brent believes there will be at least another attempt to take Amber from the manor while at the same time he leaves her alone and unattended as he gathers the family. Fourth, Brent came across as weak when he took Amber to his detested family home and worked only to get his family to let her stay, rather than addressing the issue of Amber's father and bringing the couple safely back to Texas. Fifth, by the third kidnapping attempt it feels like overkill, especially because it is in public and there is very little hope for success.
Brent and Amber's story is an easy read. It is nicely written and plot-driven. The mood changes when the couple leaves Texas, which is a little disappointing because the beginning was so enjoyable. The characters are nicely developed. There is a large cast, particularly in Virginia. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Brent and Amber. I rate this book 3.5 stars.
I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
He leans toward me, eyes fierce. “Because I want you, Amber. And I protect those that I want.”
Amber meets Brent, her Physiatrist, after she breaks her leg in a supposed car accident. Their connection is instantaneous. And along with that connection, comes an intuition for Brent. He senses that something is off with Amber’s story, but can’t pinpoint where. He reviews her scans and comes to the conclusion that her break isn’t concurrent with a car accident. With ethics out the window, Amber and Brent start texting each other. At first it’s innocent, but all too quickly it gets out of hand, and Amber’s dad discovers the texts. That’s when it’s bad news for everyone.
Apparently, Amber’s father was trying to marry her off to the son of a man who owned some land that he wanted to purchase. You see, Amber’s father was an oil man and he wanted to drill for more. When Amber refused the arrangement, he pushed her down the stairs of their home and broke her leg. Amber shares all of this with Brent over lunch one day and nothing is ever the same. Brent whisks her away to his family home in Tennessee where he believes he can keep her safe. Of course he can’t. Amber’s father puts out a missing persons ad and offers a million dollars to whoever brings Amber home. That bring alllll types of people out of the woodwork. It’s dangerous and scary and nothing Amber should have ever had to deal with. I will say this, I think Amber relied too heavily on Brent. She needed to stand up for herself more, it was slightly irritating how she let him control everything about her in the name of safety. Brent was beautiful and so sexy, but it definitely seemed like he was only with Amber for the sex. He used sex as a means to distract her from what was going on. Like he believed keeping her the dark would make things easier. Their relationship was quick and passionate, but I think they needed more time to get to know each other before they dove in head first. It all seemed a little too fast.
In the end, Amber and Brent did finally get their happily ever after. Brent used his influence and his parents money to save Amber from a life she never wanted to live. It was sweet and definitely showed his devotion to her. Amber graciously accepted his help and support and they ended with a gorgeous HEA. This book was short and sweet. I enjoyed it and read the entire thing, but it wasn’t my favorite. There was a lot lacking. It was missing that “it” factor. 3 stars.
This is a wonderful love story about a doctor, Brent and his new patient, Amber who meet unexpectedly due to her injury. Brent has an instant need to protect and find out what really caused Ambers injury as he knows that her story is not accurate. When he pushes she retreats but there is one unique connection these two have from their 1st meeting. Once Amber opens up to Brent he can not believe what Amber has lived through from her fathers actions. Amber lost her mother years ago and her father is one very controlling devious wealthy oil man living in Texas. He tells Amber she will marry a man he wants to buy land from the father and only believes in having as much money as possible even though he is extremely wealthy. They do not have a good relationship so when Brent starts asking questions during her therapy sessions Amber becomes more fearful of her father. When Brent takes Amber to his home for her safety her father follows and things get worse and then the threats come and her father follows through and makes her life even harder. Brent and Amber are forced to escape and they go hide at Brent’s family estate and Amber is surprised that his family has more wealth than her father. When Ambers father can’t find her he goes to the media and tells lies and includes Brents full name and offers a million dollars to find Amber and bring her back to him! Once the reward is issued Ambers life becomes dangerous and there are those close to Brents family who try to cash in. Brent and Amber have some crazy controlling parents who have their own beliefs and it’s not media attention or not doing what is expected of you. Someone gets Amber and Brent does what is necessary to find her and keep her safe. I enjoyed the way he put Ambers needs before anything else and how they naturally fall in love with one another. Will Brent be able to find Amber before her father gets to her so she is forced to marry another man she does not love? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Brilliant book Amber needs physiotherapy for a broken leg caused by a car accident but when Brent the physio sees her break he knows that type of break is from a fall he needs to find out since seeing her he can’t stop thinking about her. Amber goes to physio but he starts to ask questions about her break and she knows she can’t say anything as her father kicked her down the stairs while they where arguing as he is telling her she is marrying this man as he wants the land and this is the only way he can get it. Amber and Brent start texting each other but it becomes more Brent knows he shouldn’t be doing it but he is worried and wants her. Amber then texts him and wants to meet him he agrees this is when she tells him everything that is going on and Brent tells her he would sort it but a frantic call from Amber has him going to the house to get her. Amber is hiding in her bathroom her father is drunk and shouting for her as he has seen the texts between her and Brent he is livid Brent gives her an opportunity to get out. The road from their is hard as Amber’s father puts out an advert offering one million dollars for her return. This makes things difficult Amber is kidnapped twice but Brent saves her they need to find a plan so he leaves them alone for good and Brent thinks he has one just needs money which his family has got he just needs to ask but it comes at a cost from him move closer back to his home.
Amber needs therapy for leg that was broken in a "car accident." Brent knows after seeing Amber and talking with her that her break is not from a car accident but from a fall down the stairs. When Brent starts asking questions, Amber gets mad, denies Brent's claims, and storms out. Amber is afraid of her father and cannot reveal that her father got angry with her and threw her down the stairs when she said she wouldn't marry the son of a man her father made a deal with to get his land. Brent's possessive side is triggered with Amber, and Brent vows to make Amber his. After texting back and forth, Amber asks Brent to meet her, and she confesses everything. What happens when Brent gets a frantic call from Amber? Will Brent and Amber be safe hiding out at his family's home? What lengths does Amber's father go to to get Amber back? Will Brent be able to keep Amber safe? Will Brent come up with a plan to get Amber's father to leave them alone? What price will Brent pay to get his mother's help? I really liked Possessive Doctor by BB Hamel. Possessive Doctor is a great story with interesting characters. Possessive Doctor is a great story that has an possessive alpha doctor, hot chemistry, drama, and a happily ever after. I would recommend getting Possessive Doctor by BB Hamel. I received a free ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
***Standalone*** So I love a man, that knows what he wants and in this book, he just went right in with it. As soon as he saw Amber. She was it for him. the sacrifices and effort he put through for her was unbelievable and believe me and i say he would LITERALLY break a leg for her (and much much more). He battles the love of his life with his family which has not been made easy for him as he finds it difficult even being in the same room. the story has loads of interesting punchlines (i'm not joking i mean literally punching :)) and it's quite interesting as we see what depths people go through i.e. Hannah and Colin for money to owe their "debt" that they actually kidnapped Amber and took her willingly to her abusive father knowing that she would be forced to marry someone she doesnt love for the sake of her father having "land"! I loved this book, and the suspense and breathtaking moments were very worth it and i would definitely recommend you read. I can't wait to read the next Lofthouse book which is based on Valerie and Jacob - Brent's brother who was mentioned a bit in the book if you like romance books that go straight into the steamy hot stuff then this book is for you. and trust me when i say it will make your stomach clench because mine did and hell of a lot of times! Enjoy
Possessive Doctor is the first book in B.B. Hamel’s Lofthouse Family series. As in all first books in a series, readers meet a plethora of supporting characters and learn the backdrop of the series—in this case the Lofthouse Family. Readers meet Amber Gibbins, the daughter of an overbearing, ruthless, and abusive oil baron, Samuel Gibbins. Readers also meet Brent Lofthouse, a doctor specializing in physical therapy. Destiny brings Amber and Brent together in a clinic when he treats her critical broken leg. There is an instant attraction between these two. Amber awakens Brent’s protective and possessive streaks. Realizing that she is an abused victim, he strives to keep her safe from her evil father by taking her to his family’s estate in Virginia. Will he be successful? What will their romantic journey be like? How will his parents and family react?
I found BB Hamel’s writing style easy to follow. Hamel’s characters are likeable. The storyline is enjoyable with a perfect blend of drama, romance, and humor. This is a captivating romance with several respectfully written steamy bedroom scenes. The plot is well-thought out. I liked Hamel’s use of a two-prong plot line. One follows Amber and Brent’s romantic journey. The other is the intrigue behind the Samuel Gibbon’s greed and unquenching quest for power. The result is an riveting romantic suspense story. Well done.
Brent is a doctor/physical therapist. He comes from wealthy family but wanted to make it on his own and doesn’t care to be around or in the same state as his family. Amber is just a pawn in her dad’s world. All he cares about is more money and will do anything to get it, including cause injury to his own daughter. Especially, when she does not want to cooperate with his plan to own land to starting drilling for more oil. Brent encounters Amber in his clinic and she becomes his patient. While asking questions and looking in Amber’s chart, he doesn’t believe her leg injury was caused by a car accident. It doesn’t add up. Brent decides he will do anything to find out what happen to Amber and protect her if necessary. Amber doesn’t have anyone since her mother died and her father has become a very hungry man for money. She’s afraid to tell Brent or anyone else how she really got her leg injury. Will Amber let Brent in and trust him that he can protect her from her own father? Will Brent do anything to protect Amber including going to the last place he wants to be home with his crazy family? You will not be disappointed with his read. There are twists that you won’t see coming. I volunteered to read ARC for an honest review.
I read this book because of all the positive reviews and it sounded like a good series to start and that's where the good stops 🙄 I'm not sure what all these people read but it must not be the same book that I read. It was absolutely one of the most ludicrous stories I have read in a long time. Brent's family is supposed to be richer and more powerful than God but are absolutely stupid. Basically, Amber's father is forcing her to marry into some other weirdo family. She runs to the good doctor and he can see no alternative but to take her to the family fortress to keep her safe. Ooooook then 🤷🏻♀️. No mention about what happened to his practice while he's running all over the country either. When the crazy father goes to the media declaring his daughter was kidnapped, it never occurs to the wealthy-as-sin family to maybe call in some of their contacts like oh I don't know, the FBI??? Eventually the crazy father gets EXACTLY what he wants and faces absolutely no consequences except not getting to see his daughter again (who he couldn't care less about anyway) and the doctor's family is out a cool $20 million. 💁🏻♀️ Frankly, everyone in the book was just a little too creepy, including Brent and Amber. I won't be continuing this series.
Loved this book the storyline was intense, hot & emotional that I couldn't put it down. Brent & Amber were wonderful characters who have a connection aswell as hot sexual chemistry. When Amber meets Brent at his clinic for physio after breaking her leg in a 'car accident' he knows that how severe the break was it was not done in an accident & he is determined to find out how it happened. There is a lot of flirting going on between them & the closer they get the more she opens up telling him how it happened. Her dad is evil & has arranged her to be married to the son of a man who's land he wants to buy making him rich but when she refuses she is met by his anger. Brent has promised to protect her resorting to take her to his families home where they will be safe but he has a strained relationship with them but her father goes to extreme lengths to get her back.
This is the story of Amber, who is the only child of a wealthy oil man. She has hurt her leg and needs physio therapy to get it back to normal. Brent is the Dr she visits, he is young and single and seems to fall in love almost at first sight.
It’s a strange one, Ambers father wants her to marry a neighbouring land owners son, for the land and oil that may be on it. Amber is a grown woman with money of her own, yet she allows her father to intimidate and try and force her into an arranged marriage. (mind boggling)
Brent is a dr, comes from old money and a powerful influential family.
Brent finds out the fall she had wasn’t an accident and then the arranged marriage tips him over and he takes her with him to his family home. There is gets odd, his family are so wealthy and influential, you would think they would resolve the matter easily, but it becomes a farce.
I actually read it all and never skipped through it, but I wish I had.
Sorry, read for yourself and make your own mind up.
Manipulative self important parents on both sides almost sabotage a possible love in bloom, and they made me want to wretch! So many mercenary people to cash in on a disaster that I was agape! Soulless animals! I was enraged that Brent and Amber didn't go public with the truth and press charges against daddy dearest and nip all this in the bud??!! The more I read, the more disheartened with family and people I became. Greed, unconscionable greed is rampant throughout the story. This couple folded to manipulative people and should have stood up together and defeated both!! How can you change your life for someone else, (parents, friends, people) and still be able to live with yourself, your conscience, and authentic self?? So disappointed in everyone! * tears* big tears*
I was excited to read this book. I am sad to leave a less than 4-5 review. I have been with this author for a long time, years, so I have to believe that perhaps a draft was accidentally published by mistake so I am still looking forward to the next read. Unfortunately, as it stands, this story needs editing. There are some proofing issues regarding spelling, but mostly continuity and dialogue issues. Some of the responses back and forth made no sense to me. For example: Once during sexy time I read: “I’m sweating as I work my back.” What the heck does that mean? As I work my back?? Continuity example: One minute they have a 20 hour drive total from Texas to Virginia - the next sentence states that after 20 hours they are still in Texas and the next states they have driven through 4 states and still have a 20 hour drive? Brent is a doctor who believes Amber was abused. She has a badly broken leg which is still healing after he father’s abuse. He seems like a decent man but then when she complains about the 20 hour drive and asks to stop because she needs to use the facilities and tells him her leg is aching he says “No”? - ‘No’ and calls her childish and spoiled? Huh? The banter often seemed odd and childish and completely out of place! her constantly referring to him as an a-hole? One minute, Brent is rescuing a patient he’s met half a dozen times, risking malpractice and the next minute he’s is acting like a total jerk towards a girl who is fleeing an abusive father. Once they fled, it was as if every person close to them as out for them? Too many times I couldn’t make sense of the dialogue. It didn’t add up or match the circumstance.
I typically love BB Hamel stories. They are one of my favorite authors. But this is the first book that has disappointed me. The plot was good, I really liked the story line. It is why I finished reading it. But I felt the story was written a little monotone and rushed. The characters didn't have much personality and the story went really fast. If the story would have been made longer, and had more character development it would have been phenomenal like all of their other stories. I read the bonus chapter and was introduced to Jacob which from his brief line it was written in typical BB fashion so I will for sure read that story next! The story wasn't awful but it wasn't as great either.
This one is over the top drama with a dominant doctor mixed in. I really liked Brent. He saw what he wanted and took it. Now I do think he was very dumb I’m how he tried to “Handle” the situation but he got there in the end. Now Amber I thought was an idiot. So so so Naïve it wasn’t even funny. Your dad broke your leg and you don’t think he will go to extreme lengths? I understand her fear but it didn’t make since that she wouldn’t fight back at all! That’s what I didn’t like, she never fought back. She was just the damsel in distress the whole dang time! Stand up for yourself girl! Now the whole family situations blew my mind. Money and power above all was hard for me to understand and I was glad that Brent and Amber didn’t feel the same way!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I don't belive a person you just met would go to that lengh to protect but, but maybe some would. With Brent becoming Amber's physical therapist, he figured out she was being abused but Amber would not tell him the truth until the abused continued plus she was being forced to marry for a business deal. Brent took her to his family's home in VA hoping her abuser couldn't find her. He sacrificed himself because his parents were beyond snobby and refuse to live in that environment. They didn't not care what happened to Amber as long as she left their home so their name wouldn't be linked to her and the bad publicity. Brent agreed to his parents request so he could get what he needed so Amber would be freed.
Amber is a patient of Brent. She is seeing him to rehab her broken leg from a car accident. The move time he spends with her and reviews her file he finds that the break is more to a fall off the stairs instead of a car accident.
Brent finds that he is very attracted to Amber and knows that her being a patient of his can cause serious problems for him. His feelings for her takes over and he makes a decision to heal her and protect her from his douche bag of a dad.
The hot chemistry of these two are off the charts and I just wanted more of what Dr. Brent has to offer.
